I laughed as I overheard Xulan and Olivia's conversation. It had been ten years since we met.

I glanced around for my classmates. They were nowhere to be seen in the jungle. Even their scent was gone.

I closed my eyes and ran ahead. I shouldn't have chased that stupid Emerald Bird!

My nose twitched as it picked up a foreign smell. It was a fellow wolf, but it wasn't anyone from my pack. I quickly hid and waited for them to get closer. Had I accidentally wandered into the territory of the silver wolves?

A white-haired boy glanced around nervously. He hugged his basket of herbs and walked as fast as possible.

Had he wandered into our lands?

"Hey, you!" I yelled, jumping out of hiding.

The boy jumped and dashed away.

"Hey, don't run! I just want to talk!"

The boy slowed down and raised his basket as a shield. "A raven wolf wishes to talk?"

I put my hands on my hips. "Why do you sound surprised? Do you think we only know how to growl?"

He lowered his basket. "I was told you were dangerous."

I scoffed. "And I heard the same thing about you! Tell me, what are you doing in our lands?"
