I returned to eating my food, though, I did so with less gusto than before Olivia and Jason had arrived.

The same feeling that I had felt when Olivia kissed Alex surged, though it was also mixed with anger. Who did she like? Alex or Jason? Or did she like them both?

I sighed and put the down my chopsticks on top of my jade bowl. "Thank you for the meal," I said, bowing my head.

"You're welcome," Iah said, smiling.

"Is something the matter?" someone spoke up. It was Iah's cousin, Azure. He reminded me of my own cousin, Celeste. She could read the feelings of people very well, a little too well. Sometimes, I wondered if she could read minds like Alex.

"I'm alright," I said, forcing a smile. "I'm going to go rest in my room."

I rubbed my left eye and yawned. "The trip left me exhausted."

Iah laughed. "Really? You seemed full of energy on the way here."

"Well, I'm all out," I said as I stood up.

"I think that I'll go rest too," Alex said as he stood up. He glanced at me, giving me one of his 'I know you're lying' looks.

I rapidly ran out of the dining room, not wanting to speak even to him.
