Chp 17. Zia 5

Axel immediately zips me away from the portal, to a more secluded place in the woods where I dry heave. Luckily, I had thrown up just about all I could from the earlier portal, and was now left with the ugly action of dry heaving for a few minutes.
He stood there, consoling me, as I threw up air.
"Don't you have some witchy spell for nausea or something?" I ask.
He laughed, before nodding, "It's hard to find the ingredients for. So much so, that not many even know how to make it. "
"Fucking witches with their overly complicated shit." I mutter, before going back to throwing up absolutely nothing. It's so damn ridiculous.
"Even mortals do better than I. These damn portals are... ugh!" He shakes his head at me with a dashing smile.
"Go ahead and laugh at me, I know your sadistic arse wants to. So just go ahead." With a smile, he runs his hand over my hairline, pushing back the sly baby hairs that refuse to be bound in a braid.
"We need some wax for your baby hairs." He murmers.
"No shit." I tell him. I get up from my hunched position, and walk around for a little bit.
"Alright, should probably head back." I say. I still feel a bit lightheaded, but I know that I'm good to go now.
I know he can see it on my face that I need to stretch my wings, so he stays still, watching as I climb up a tree.
All of my clothing has two discreet slits near my shoulder blades, for my wings to slowly peek through.
Once at the top of the tree, I release my wings, and start moving them, then jump.
I can see him using his speed through the trees to keep up with my flight.
It's not long before I can see the opening in the woods. Its a complete circle of open land, with flowers and a white little cabin in the middle.
All the wolves have noticed me by now, and Axel, and clump together.
We may be with Koria, but it's still in their natural instincts to be warry of Vampires.
I land in front of the door, meeting up with Axel.
His eyes are glowing a bit, as they always do when he moves at high speeds. It has something to do with the witch he has in him. I'm not quite sure as to how it works, but it's a beautiful look on him.
He slings his arms over my shoulder as we walk through the door.
Koria is hunched in front of a big pink circle, her hand outstretched and lightly touching it.
Inside lays a beautiful girl with white hair and light skin.
She radiates power, high authority, even while sleeping. It's something you don't see often. Usually only in very high standing royals.
Not all kings or queens have that, but some, some few do.
And she has that.
I can feel the magic and power in the air. And judging by the way Axels eyes are now glowing purple, so can he. Even in death, his witch side stayed strong. It's almost against the rules to turn a witch, but it's unspoken, unwritten, and so, not technically illegal.
People fear what they don't know, what they can't control. And Axel wad just that. A power so strong that many turned away in fear.
Yet here we were, Axel's eyes turning purple at the power radiating through the room.
His eyes used to do that with Koria as well, but as he's adjusted, I've only seen it once before.
Seeing his eyes glowing vibrant purple instantly caught me off guard, and I continued to stare at the young girl in front of me.
What the hell got such a powerful teenage girl knocked out like this. Was this because she broke the curse? No one else had ever been able to break it, at least, I'd never heard of such a ridiculous quest before.
Yet, layed down before me, was a girl who was willing to get herself hurt in order to save a race not entirely her own.
The amount of respect I already held for her prior to this had increased exponentially.
"Did she do this herself, set the bubble around herself?" Axel asked Koria.
She shook her head.
The wolf whose head was laying on Azreia's chest poked up.
Her voice echoed through my ears.
No one else has been in this room besides the wolves. I've watched every one who came and went.
She shook her cute wolf head in what seemed like disbelief.
"Did you do it?" I asked Koria, her eyes met mine with worry, and replied with a simple 'No'.
The familiar she had stationed here also denied helping her.
Looking around the room, a sparkle in the corner of the ceiling caught my eye.
Pointing, I yelled out to Koria.
"Is that a Faeire?"
She used her magic to trap the Faeire in a bind, and float it over to her hand.
Despite the size it's voice was powerful, and not squeaky. Just strong and feminine.
"Did you do this?" Koria asked.
"Let me go. God, witches are always so entitled!" She squirmed in the magic hold, but no where.
"And you Fae are so hard to talk to. Why are you here?"
"Word spreads fast in these trees, I wanted to get a look at the curse breaker." She answered. She was only about six inches tall, beautiful opaque green and blue wings, and some kind a material for her dress. The eyes were gold, and shined, looking bold against her dark skin.
"We should keep her." Zia said, catching everyone's attention.
"She's not a pet." Koria said sternly.
"And I never said she was." Zia snapped back.
"She happens to be in here at the same time as the bubble. Not to mention her eyes have hardly focused on any of us, only Azreia. She must be focusing on keeping the spell up. Cover her eyes."
Koria, looking amused and impressed, though she'd never admit it, listened to Alina, and covered the Faes eyes.
It took about a minute, but the pink bubble began to ripple and weaken.
Koria stopped, and let the Fae focus again.
"Why would you help her?" The Fae weren't known to go around offering out help on a whim. Bot unless they had good reason.
"That, is none of your concern."
"Yes the hell it is." Alina commented.
"The Fae aren't so selfless to help. And this takes a good amount of strength. The magic that surrounds her isn't just Fae." Axel said, his eyes were calm, and I knew he was trying to win over the Fae.
"Ah, still an ass, but pretty respectful for a witch." The Fae said, barley sparing him a glance. But her even looking at him already said that his smooth deep voice was drawing her in.
I knew that he wasn't flirting with her, and that he was just drawing out his vampire side to get her attention, but I still didn't like that creature having his attention.
"She needs the bubble. That is all I will tell you." The Faeire said.
"She will pay you no favors for this. You have done this on your own accord, she did not ask this of you. And so it is settled, you will not come back for repayment." Koria replied.
The Fae sighed, but other than that, paid no mind to Koria.
Axel walked back towards me, his eyes on the young blonde girl. She was a part of me.
She's a part of me.
She is a part of me.
I walked away from Axel, and towards the young royal.
Crouching down, I placed one hand over her heart. Right next to the wolves head.
The pink bubble was warm on the inside. The air inside was filled with a type of static. Power. It was all power. I had never felt such power before.
Alina followed my actions at my command.
It took a few seconds, but with time, I noticed the air around her shift.
Her eyes suddenly shot open. Bright green eyes staring past us and towards the ceiling.
With a deep breath, she started coughing, tears edging around the outter corners of her eyes.
"Where did he go?" Were the first words to come out of her mouth. The words light and almost airy.
Koria peeked over my shoulder, and asked who she was talking about. In doing so, she dropped her hold of the Fae, and it was gone in the blink of an eye.
"He saved me. Where did he go?" She sat up suddenly, trying to steady herself on her hands.
I moved behind her and held her back up.
"Rest sweetheart, you're still not at your full strength." And as I said that, the punk bubble seemed to explode, pink covered the air for about three seconds before disappearing.
"He healed me Koria, he healed me! I couldn't see him, but I could hear him. He guided me through breaking the curse, then he saved me. He said we'd meet again." She reached her hand out towards Koria, and Koria took her hand in hers.
The two were obviously well acquainted, and I couldn't lie, the spark of jealousy that shot through me, it hurt.
Alina was sitting on Azreia's other side, watching the exchange.
Koria cradled Azreia's chin in one hand, the other still holding her hand.
"And we will be with you when it happens. Tell me, did he sound malicious?" She asked.
"No," She lightly shook her head. "He wanted to protect me. He was upset that I was so weak for breaking the curse. He scolded me for being so reckless. He said he wanted me safe. He wanted me to be more careful. That in time we will meet again and he will explain everything."
Koria did not like the sound of the news, but quickly changed topics.
"Alright. The day has passed us quickly. You three must get some rest. There will be time to aquaint yourselves later. For now, get some sleep."
With that, she walked out of the cabin.
"Is it just me, or she a scary badass bitch?"
I laughed, and Azreia looked at her suprised.
"What is a 'badass'?"
With a laugh, Zia quickly explained it means someone who cool. Then when we were lost and thought she was talking tempature, she explained it could mean like a warrior.
"Koria is a bit intimidating, but she always has something up her sleeve. Good or dangerous, who ever knows. You'll just have to wait and see." Azreia explained. She was cradling a wolf pup in her arms while petting the wolf who was earlier laying on her.
"How do you know Koria?" I asked.
"She frequents the kingdoms, and as such, made manh appearances throughout my life. We've never been too close, but I am learning to trust her more as timr passes by."
"How do you know Koria." Azreia asked me.
"She rescued me from treason. I killed one of the elders who abused me, and she took me from the village before they could finally have a reason to kill me."
"Damn girl! Ms. Psyco killer over here." Alina laughed.
"We should sleep now, I'm beat." Azreia spoke. I was still a bit wired, so left the girls to get ready to sleep.
"You be safe out there, wherever you're going." Azreia told me. There was something in her tone, a warning. I nodded, then walked out, Axel following behind me.
We found a tree and snuggled up inside the welcoming tree.
"How're you feeling?" He asked me.
"Confused. None of this is moving how I thought it would. And I'm still so lost in how we're involved in some war."
He gave a noise of agreement.
"I've got your back. Tell me what we're doing, and I'm there."
I snuggled more into him, and closed me eyes. His lips gently pressed into my temple, and then I was falling asleep.

A/N
Hey, so... I have some news...
This book, as fun as it is to write, will not be very long.
Why?
Well, it focuses around three sister, all of whom will have their own life, their own story, their own romantic plot line.
This book has I'd say about five more chapters left before I end it and start on the following storyline of the girls.
It will end on a cliffhanger, but don't worry, as I plan to start on the next book soon.
