Tenzou hadn't known the meaning of "we" before.

Sure, he knew what the word means-Danzou had made it very clear that he didn't want dumb soldiers-, but he didn't know the true meaning of it until he joined Team Ro in Anbu.

It was beautiful, he thought. Everyone had a place in the team, no matter that Tenzou was a new and sudden addition to the team, they still liked him. At least, they deemed his abilities good enough to stay in it.

It was enough, he also thought. But it didn't stop there.

Suddenly, his meal break wasn't so silent anymore. There was no way he would spent the entire time alone. A member of the team was always there, making conversation or just be a silent companion. His private tranining session wasn't so private anymore. Kakashi would always be there, pointing out his mistakes and giving helpful inputs about how to fix them. Even now, getting missions always meant going to the after-mission party.

Tenzou was confused, and he had asked Kakashi, as the captain would always stressed out that he would be there if Tenzou wanted to ask questions about anything. Kakashi had taken one look at him, eyebrows furrowing, before asking back, "There's no team in Root?"

"There is. Just ... not like this."

"LIke what? A healthy functioning team?" Kakashi had chuckled with no ill intent towards him. "Forget about Root. We will always be there for you, Tenzou."

It had taken Tenzou an embarassingly long time to recover from the warm feeling that suddenly grew in his heart, spreading towards his face. Kakashi had let out an amused sound, but he had also pulled Tenzou gently to the canteen for their after-mission party.

It was a great night.
