WG| Chapter XLI: Coronation

Blathnaid

Day 177

"Never thought this would happen in my life," I let out while doing the final adjustments on my dress and hair, putting it up and braiding it. There are no maids that do this for me. Ourdera is an independent type of royal and she trained me to be the same. There are servants that tend to the officials in Evanity, including janitors to clean the palace up. The guards are standing at my door, protecting any impossible intruders that want to kill me before I officially become queen. They will probably die by looking at me changing.

"I don't know if this is a dream gone wrong or come true," I mumble to myself. I will be lying if I say that I am not nervous. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be followed in my family as pagan scholars and mages. Royalty wasn't on the list. In these footsteps, I've become a powerful sorceress. I don't know how my family will respond to that. They were aware of the prophecy from my grandma, Saoirse, before she was murdered in a religious protest back in Ireland. It stated that I was going to be a powerful witch in the future to continue the legacy.

"Lady Blathnaid, are you ready?" I hear a guard say while they knock upon my door.

I take a deep breath. "Yes, I am ready."

I open up the door and I see Markus standing in front of me in tuxedo clothes with his hair pulled back in a ponytail. He is now a spitting image of George during my secondary school years.

"Hey, Blath!" He waves with cheerfulness.

"Markus!" I run to him. I give him a big hug. His warmness is all I can feel, along with his arms wrapped around me.

"Woah-Woah! Chill out, girl, you got'ta coronation to handle," he says as we unhook, "I know you're excited."

"How are you able to get back here?" I ask him with a smile.

He cracks his neck and hands. "I know my ways."

"That was me." Ourdera comes up to the hallway. She is in a fluffy dress while I'm in a silk one. She likes to wear furry or leather clothing the most. Her voice sounds happy and relieved, masked by her calm voice. I guess that I am a big relief off her shoulders.

"Lady Ourdera!" I grin even wider and restrain myself from hugging her too.

"The other rulers are waiting for you at the summoning pad," she informs.

"I will see you soon," I said to Markus, "Do you want to stand on the rulers' pad with us?"

He shakes his head. "Nah, I will be standing in the V.I.P area anyway," he politely declines.

"Okay!" Ourdera follows me to the summoning pad. The rulers in all of Verantuvia standing on the sides of the room. Bracus, Dominique, Valor, Eter, Ablen on the left side. Aelen, Naomi, Forgison, Queen Talina of Etison, and Chief Iroquoise of Yanmaham.

"I will join in a short bit, Blathnaid," Ourdera reminds me. I give her a short nod. She looks up at the rulers, waiting for the approval to go ahead. "Start it."

"Of course, Lady Of All Kind," they all said in unison. One by one, they enter the teleportation pad to the largest appearance post. This coronation is being shown to all of Verantuvia, Teketa included. This planet has double the amount of people than Earth and still has more room left to spare.

As Iroquoise leaves as the last one, I slowly walk. The rulers need to get into position while I will be summoned to the centre. I can hear Evanity boisterously cheering outside the palace. They only get to see their new queen again once I get to the pedestal. If they are as loud as earbuds now, they will be as loud as a concert when I get there.

A minute passes before I go into the teleportation pad. I wish I could plug my ears. Heavy excited screams erupt as I appear on the glowing blue star pedestal. I nod to Naomi and Aelen a bit as I turn around to the crowd. Thousands of people are packed into tiny spaces; personal bubbles don't exist unless they are inside a skyscraper. I put up a kind smile and wave to the crowd, which causes them to go wilder. I am going to get hearing aids after this. Ourdera says that they never saw a new royal ever for Evanity. She has been its queen for billions of years.

She once said to me, "Many gods love to rule more than one empire. It's rewarding, but painfully tasking. You can rule another empire, Blathnaid, if you are ambitious for another." Time flies fast for gods. It flies faster for Universal Gods than the lower ones. The Cosmic Order has higher punishment times for more powerful Gods too. So this means if I break a law, I may be going to jail for a long time. Universal God feels like 100,000 years go fast for them. Cosmic Gods feel like 20,000 years go by for them. Lesser Gods is 1000 years. Netedinark's confinement sentence will be like 140 years for him.

To me, 100,000 years is a long time. Ourdera told me that is a side effect of ascension from mortal to immortal. Once it gets going, it will fade off and everything will go faster and faster. The gloomy part that is the end of the universe will come quickly for us. This universe is almost five times older than our own. Maybe the laws of physics and the cosmos are different here? What if there's no end? Do the gods prevent the universe from dying? My powers represent the youth of the universe; does it mean that I revive the universe or the one that begins it again?

The thought about the universe helps me block out the screams. I restrain myself from plugging my ears once Ourdera appears on the glowing pedestal. The crowd grows any louder, ear-splitting decibels. I am thankful that my ears aren't bleeding yet.

"Greetings, Evanity!" Ourdera shouts as if the screams don't bother her.

When she speaks, everyone goes quiet, desperate for her words.

"Wonderful night for a new Queen?"

They scream and calm back down again.

"We have an announcement. Netedinark is no longer Lord of Teketa. The new lords are Naomi McKelsey and Aelen Fvandeles."

I look behind me as Naomi and Aelen wave to the crowd. Naomi has that instant regret smile all over her face while Aelen is second nature to it. I face forward again.

Help me, Naomi begs to me telepathically.

I wish I can help, I reply to her. My smile grows cheeky.

"But now it's time for the grand event." Ourdera turns to me. There's no crown for Evanity. I never saw anyone wearing crowns during war meetings and I don't see them wearing one now. Talina is the only one wearing a golden crown with shiny jewels that is hard to look at. Their heads must be strong for enduring fashion like that. Ourdera extends her hands out to me. I hold onto them. A deep blue glow emerges as we touch. Her powers feel gentle. "Repeat after me," she mouths to me.

"I will hereby focus on my duties as Evanity's queen and Verantuvia's protector as long as I am in reign," she begins. I repeat. The power glows brighter and the feeling grows stronger.

"Lady of All Kind has granted me this ruling to continue her blessing after she is gone," she goes on. I repeat. The magic glows three times brighter. It makes me want to melt into a puddle like a sweet cat getting a nice scratch on their neck.

"I will not hurt, I will not betray, I will not forsaken, I will not tell a lie to my people. My heart will stay truthful, passionate, and brave even in times of war, disease, and misfortune." Once again, I repeat.

The magic explodes like a painless firework. The light shines a thousand times brighter than the Sun. It's loud and keeps going off. It blasts up in the air and does a final showdown of blue light. It looks so beautiful with the aurora sky. It will be a rare gem to see on Earth. It is a legendary gem to see on Verantuvia.

"I hereby pronounce Blathnaid as Queen of Evanity!" She says to the people.

Everyone cheers and claps. My energy is going rampant. I feel like I want to wave and shout to the crowd, but I stay quiet. One of the rulers crashed into me with a hug. It's Naomi.

"You did great, Blath, nice to have a Queen that not also as an ally, but as a best friend."

"Same to you too."

Aelen joins in, followed by Dominique, Bracus hesitantly gives in. It feels less nerve-wracking with my friends. I glance at Markus, who is standing awkwardly in the VIP area of the pedestal. "C'mon, get up here!" I tell him while signalling to my hands. He comes up and joins in a hug. Ourdera comes in and smothers us all.

We all dance upon this delicate night. I know after this tomorrow, my royal duties will begin again. Today, Ourdera's reign ends at dusk while my reign begins at the light of dawn. Long joy of Queen Ourdera, joy rise of Queen Blathnaid.
