You Have to Remember

Dark smirked viciously at the trio before him.

"It's like the three stooges. . . . . We got ourselves an eldritch demon turned into a pathetic human. . ..  a man who's all buff no bite . . . and the magician with a thousand page rule book."

"Actually" Marvin snorted, "I threw away the book a while ago." he winked at him, "You're about to see me unchained, asshole"

"And all buff, no bite?" Jackie scoffed, "I'm gonna beat the shit out of you until your bleeding and broken a million times over"

Sean had nothing to say to Dark. Nothing he could say would matter to him. All he wanted was his friend back and he was prepared to do anything it took to do so.

Dark didn't seem impressed but noticed Henrik rushing over to Wilford, mumbling something to him.

Dark realized what the doctor might have been planning, "Get away from him! You're not going to ruin my plans!"

Dark went to attack Henrik but Sean glitched in front of him and punched him across the face again just like before.

Dark stumbled back, taken aback, only able to watch with fury as Wilford teleported with Henrik.

He knew where they had gone, "No. . ..  DAMN YOU!" Dark lunged towards Sean, barreling into him. He had a larger muscle mass and was able to bring Sean down but before he could lay into him, Jackie tore him off.

Jackie tried to hold Dark in a full nelson but they seemed to have forgotten something.

Dark wasn't human. He was a shadow entity.

He was able to slip away from Jackie in a black mass.

Sean gasped, "STOP HIM! DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY!"

Marvin muttered a spell and flashed a bright light at Dark. Just like before in the facility, the light affected Dark in his shadow form and caused him to revert back to normal.

But he wasn't about to go down so easily.

Dark seethed, "Fine then . . . you wanna play? I'll play with you"

Sean clenched his fists, "If you'd just fucking take the crystal . .. . but you always were stubborn. . . Mark"

Dark's eyes twitched and he gripped his head but he still wouldn't be swayed.

He wasn't gonna go down without a fight.

Chase and Jameson got to the cabin nearby, shivering when they finally got inside. It wasn't much warmer in the cabin, though. Jameson rushed over to the fireplace and stocked it with wood next to it. He then pulled out a lighter from his pocket and started a fast fire.

Chase smirked at him, "Always full of surprises, James. You keep working on that fire. I'll look around here for a gun or some other kind of weapon."

Jameson nodded, blowing on the fire to try and make it get bigger.

The cabin wasn't all that big. It was like a small studio apartment. Unfortunately, Chase was seeing anything that could be of use.

Until . . .

He saw the bottle of liquor on the coffee table. . .

Jameson gave him an unsure look, knowing about Chase's previous alcoholism.

Chase glanced over to the fireplace and back to Jameson.

Jameson didn't like that look in his eyes, 'You're not thinking of drinking, are you?'

Chase rolled his eyes, "No, James. . . . I have something way better in mind. Now hurry up and help me tear off some long rags from this bed sheet."

Jameson still didn't understand what Chase was planning but he wasn't about to just ask twenty questions.

Wilford teleported Henrik to the warp core, holding onto him tightly.

There was still nothing but darkness around them but just in front of them was the machine, clinging on to what little piece of matter there was left under it. It no longer needed a power source, taking the infinite energy from the crystal earlier.

It was running on its own now, completely efficient of itself.

Currently, it was vibrating rapidly and booming out radiant and vibrant colors.

Henrik didn't like this, "It's creating its own wormhole! It that happens, it can travel between universes all on its own and destroy EVERYTHING! I can only imagine it hasn't erased us yet because we've made contact with the crystal before."

Wilford awed at it, "Pretty colors! Should we get closer?"

Henrik nodded, "Actually, yes! I need to see if I can shut down the machine manually! Without the crystal inside of it, there shouldn't be a forcefield around it to keep us away"

Wilford teleported them again right in front of it and him and the doctor latched on tight.

Henrik hissed as the heat coming off of the machine stung his fingers but there wasn't any time to waste!

"William! Vhatever you do, do NOT leave me here alone!"

Wilford didn't fully understand why they were there. . . but he knew he didn't want to be around Dark at the moment.

He nodded to Henrik and smiled, "I'm right here for ya, buddy!"

Jackie rushed to Dark and managed to swing him downwards into the snow, practically burying him in it. But that didn't last long as Dark escaped his grasp once more in shadows and punched Jackie across the face.

Jackie skidded along the snow and ice.

Dark scoffed at him, "Stupid boy. You're only some kind of special because Anti's power accidentally crawled into you. You're nothing but glorified delivery boy"

Jackie chuckled as he stood up, "Yeah well. . . I don't just deliver food anymore"

Dark raised a brow at him.

Marvin finished a spell and Dark could his entire body freeze, "NOW, JACKIE!"

Jackie wound up his fist, "I deliver ass-beatings, too" he slammed his fist into Dark's stomach, making the entity groan and land on his back.

Dark coughed out but broke out of Marvin's spell in a matter of moments.

Sean then took his opportunity and teleported on top of Dark before he could pick himself up. Sean shoved him down and grabbed hold of him around his back in almost a hug.

Sean blasted electricity through Dark's body, making him jolt and shudder at the voltage.

"PLEASE, MARK!" He screamed at him, "YOU HAVE TO FUCKING REMEMBER! REMEMBER YOUR FRIENDS, AT LEAST!"

Dark grit his teeth, "I DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING FRIENDS!"

Dark tried to claw Sean off of him, "AND MY NAME ISN'T MARK!"

Sean still clung on to him, though, desperate, "Your name is Mark! You have so many friends! Bob and Wade! Tyler and Ethan!"

Dark froze and as Sean was still electrocuting him, he could see something in his head.

Like a flicker.

A flash of a . . memory?

"And me! Sean!"

Dark shook his head, all of his anger and rage returning to him.

He shouted and a blast of auras slammed Sean off of him. Dark was vibrating a blue color similar to the crystal and red, which matched his anger perfectly.

Dark shook his head at Sean, "You. . . . I don't know what you're talking about. You've surely gone mad . . . because you mean NOTHING to me. . . . . SEAN"

It stung Sean to hear that but he had to forget about it because he knew this wasn't Mark. He didn't remember who he was.

He had to make him remember.

"HEY MOTHERFUCKER!"

They all turned towards Chase who was holding something like a bottle in his hands.

THAT WAS ON FIRE!?

Jackie's eyes wided, "Oh SHIT!"

Chase threw the molotov straight at Dark, "YOU NEED TO LIGHTEN UP A LITTLE!"

Sean glitched out of the way and the molotov landed right in front of Dark, causing a large explosion as the bottle broke, causing the reaction of the alcohol and fire to ignite like a bomb.

Marvin was casting another spell and before Dark could shake off what just happened, the magician created a sort of forcefield dome around the entity, keeping him from getting away.

Dark looked around as he stumbled up. He didn't care that his suit jacket was now tattered. He tore it off along with the tie, leaving him in the white shirt and black pants.

His eyes met Seans and he lunged towards him, only to crash into the dome.

Dark's anger was only building, though and he punched the dome with his fists, putting all his power into it.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!" He screamed and yelled at every punch and Marvin was actually worried.

Dark's power was still unbelievably massive.

He was breaking the dome.

Chase glanced at the others, "Uh . ..  dudes, I got more molotovs here. They're gonna explore if we don't-"

Dark suddenly crashed through the dome with all his strength, lunging straight at Sean again.

Chase was ready, though, and threw another molotov!

Dark was expecting it now, though and dodged the explosions.

He came face to face with Sean, his eyes now red and unrecognizable.

Sean wasn't about to lose this fight, though.

He suddenly grabbed hold of Dark's head, gripping into his hair tight.

Dark didn't expect that move and tried to back away and scratch and hit at Sean but it was no use.

Sean held on steady. All his anger. . . was gone.

Replaced with sorrow.

Was this all he was going to remember Mark as?

A monster hellbent on destroying everything?

Eradicating his entire life because of his own regrets and emptiness?

"I'm not giving up on you, Mark" Sean let his body electrify again to try and keep Dark from struggling so much, "I regret that fight we had in the forest before all of this. I was wrong to take out all my anger on you. You didn't deserve it"

Dark didn't look as though he understood and he didn't look like he cared, either, practically salivating read to rip out a chunk of Sean's throat.

"Please remember" Sean teared up, "You have to remember your life. . ..  All your friends and family. Your millions of fans on YouTube"

Dark's eye twitched again.

Once more, he could see a flash of something.

People all around him.

His heart warm and full.

'It's a trick! It's all a trick!' he screamed at himself in his head, 'He's trying to fool you! I have to get to the warp core!'

Dark grabbed hold of Sean's arm and shoved it off of his head, slapping him across the face. Dark then punched him hard into the stomach, knocking him down into the snow.

Jackie tried to go at him again but Dark evaded him and swung him over his shoulder, crashing his back onto the cold, hard ground.

Marvin went after him again with a spell but Dark was faster and punched him hard into the stomach as well, making the magician black out for a good moment.

There was nothing Jameson could do but watch.

But Chase wasn't about to be beaten so fast.

He took his gun out and shot at Dark.

The bullets, however, brushed off of him like nothing.

Dark glared at him. The human wasn't even worth his time.

Henrik tried all he could to shut down the warp core. He tried to even revert it to bring things back but nothing was working.

"Wilford. . . ." Henrik sighed, "I don't think I can fix zhis one. . . ." it was hard for him to admit.

Wilford could see that.

He smiled, "It's okay. . .. you tried your best"

Henrik didn't like that thought, though. He teared up .  . . .

He let everyone down.

Dark scowled at them all, "You really thought you all stood a chance. . . . how. . . amusing"

Sean saw that he was about to leave them behind, "WAIT! MARK, NO! PLEASE!"

Dark whirled around, "I TOLD YOU ALREADY, MY NAME IS-"

"WHAT ABOUT AMY!?"

Something in Dark's soul recoiled.

Something inside of him . . . . screamed.

Amy?

Who was that?

Why did that name sound. . . . familiar?

Just briefly, he could see a woman in his thoughts.

The most beautiful woman he had ever seen.  . . . with the prettiest smile.

"I. . .. "

His heart beat harshly in his chest.

"AND WHAT ABOUT CHICA AND HENRY!?"

The vision of a couple of dogs came across his mind. Two sweet-looking golden retrievers.

Dark felt the feeling of  . . missing them? But how could that be if he didn't even remember them!?

Sean was suddenly in front of him, holding onto his shoulders.

"You remember them . .. don't you?" he was desperate, "Mark, please, this isn't a trick. They're your family. You KNOW it! PLEASE!" he took the crystal out of his pocket.

"Take the crystal . . ..  and SEE for yourself."

Dark almost looked. . . lost.

Yes, he could see that woman and the two dogs in his head. They seemed so real.

Was Anti . . . Was Sean really telling the truth?

He swallowed and took a breathe.

He took the crystal from Sean's hand.

Immediately, it was like an explosion in his head.

Fireworks of memories, racing through his mind.

It was all there.

All right in front of him.

Everything Sean had said.

Bob and Wade.

Ethan and Katherine

Tyler.

His family.

All of his fans.

The tour and the conventions.

All of his projects he was so proud of.

Amy.

Chica.

Henry.

The forest.

Sean.

Their argument.

The crystal.

Mark let go of the crystal and stared at Sean.

There was silence all around them.

The only sound was that of the blowing snow and wind around them.

Mark breathed out a whimper and tears formed in his eyes, "S. . . . .Sean . . .?"

Sean breathed out a heavy sigh and relief and hugged Mark, "Hey bud. . . it's good to have you back" he couldn't keep his own tears down.

Mark choked on a sob, "Sean . . . what have I done? . .  what have I done?"

Sean hugged him tighter, trying to keep his own sobs at bay, "It's okay, Mark. You weren't yourself. . . neither was I . . . we'll figure it out. Together. Okay, buddy?"

Just then, there was a loud boom that hung in the air.

The sky lit up.

A vast wormhole emerged, breaking through all of time and space.

The warp core had reached the universe they were in now.

Wilford and Henrik teleported by them.

Henrik refused to look at anyone, though.

They all knew then. . . . .

This was it.
