Chapter 16 || Special Enough (Kiss)

Yoongi's words keep ringing in Jiah's ears, increasing gradually with Jimin's hand is snaking around her waist. They're no longer in the restroom and that's what scares Jiah, wondering if she actually had the bitch inside her who'd let this flow just as easy as it sounded back in the restroom. Making her ex jealous might be a certified bitchy thing to do, but you don't see Jiah complaining.

Instead, she braces herself, getting comfortable against the warmth of her boss's hand that's burning her skin through the clothes. She picks up a smile, glancing up at him once before walking back to the party hall. Taehyung catches her eye within a moment, and it gives her a boost of energy, reading along his awkward expression. Although nothing is given off, because he's standing with a man and a woman, nodding at whatever they were saying, while his eyes are glued to Jiah.

She suppresses the urge to roll her eyes at him, distracted by Jimin who's leaning down with a plastered smile, "Stop looking at him," Right. She clears her throat, averting her eyes from the ex boyfriend and follows Jimin to the front where more people approach them eventually.

The party is long. Too long for Jiah's comfort as she comes to the realisation that maybe Jimin was just all talk, for he didn't really took any notice of all the disturbed and unpleasant looks Kim Taehyung gave them. She sighs, shifting on her heels and turns around, shaking her head, now more focused on the pain that's pinching her feet from standing for so long with those tall office heels. She puts her purse on the table nearby, and bends down subtly to adjust the straps of the sandals, sighing at the red marks left on her skin.

A hand stretches out in front of her, not even waiting for her to accept it and holds her hand gently, kneeling down to loosen the black straps like Jiah was struggling to do by herself. It's Park Jimin, glancing at her with his dark eyes, casting a haze for Jiah, making her gulp as she blinks a few times in surprise. "Are you okay?" His voice is soft, only for her to hear. But a lot more people were probably aware of what was going on since they all stared with wide eyes, watching Park Jimin on his knees, fixing his secretary's sandals just because her feet hurt. The girl must be special?

"Yeah... yes, I'm good," Jiah mumbles, holding his hand and pulls him up quickly, "What are you doing, sir? What will everyone thin-"

"It's okay, Jiah," He assures, "I can see you're not comfortable in those. I'm not as blind as you think I am,"

Jiah closes her eyes, sighing softly and nods to his words. Then it starts- the whispers and murmurs around them, suddenly reminding Jiah that Taehyung must be watching too. She looks back, finding the man leaning against a table, a drink in his hand, eyes on her. She ignores him in a mere second, getting her attention on Jimin again, who checks the time in his watch and picks up her purse from the table, "We should head out now. It's getting late,"

Finally! It's over! Jimin ignores the breath of relief that leaves Jiah's lips, making him shake his head. In the corner of his eyes, he's sure he saw Taehyung putting down his glass, heading outside as well. The staff bows to them, making way towards the elevator for Jimin and his secretary to pass. When a man steps in to attend them and probably help their way back to the car, Jimin dismisses him, sending an appreciative smile before taking all the job in his hands.

The doors of the elevator are about fo slide close when Taehyung steps in between, motioning his men to leave and enters the elevator, fixing his eyes on Jiah as if he hadn't spent half of the night stealing glances of her already. "Yes, Mr Kim?" Jimin tilts his head slightly upwards, maintaing a monotonous, not that intimidating yet, but enough to let Taehyung know that whatever he was here with wouldn't work.

"You've got a great a secretary, Mr Park," He says, standing beside them casually, hands tugged in his pockets as he doesn't let any expression leak from his face.

"That's not a very professional remark coming from a man like you,"

"Is that so? I was just complimenting, sir," Taehyung chuckles through his nose, glancing at Jimin, then at Jiah, "Try and make me jealous all you want, baby. You know nobody's gonna love you like I did,"

"Oh please, I don't even want anyone to love me like you did," Jiah scoffs and Taehyung arches up a brow, amused with her words.

"You left our son at home for this stupid party, Jiah?" He presses on, ignoring the previous taunt and earns a sharp glare from the girl, making him click his tongue. He steps forward, stroking her hair, "It's okay, work's important too. But don't worry, I'll visit you and Jihun soon," He smirks, glancing at Jimin briefly while his thumb caresses Jiah's cheek gently, "Tell him daddy's back, and he's gonna do whatever it takes to have his family together,"

"Fuck off," Jiah pushes his hand away.

"Seriously, Kim Taehyung," Jimin chuckles lightly, almost mockingly at the said male as the door slides open, "Now if you excuse us, we'd like to take our leave. You must know how kids tend to need their mother. So, I'll just drop her off home. Don't worry,"

Taehyung glares at him, unable to say anything as Jiah pushes past him, holding Jimin's hand, heading towards the front where a driver quickly jogs to get the car. Suppressing the urge to push Park Jimin away and take Jiah with him, Taehyung heaves out a deep breath through his nose, wondering if Jimin was actually that great to not have a problem with Jiah being the mother to his son. As far as he had guessed, most men might accept women for all they were, but he was certain that they couldn't love somebody else child like their own. The thought itself tells Taehyung not to leave Jiah or his son alone, who knows when Park Jimin might get bored and leaves them like they meant nothing.

Jihun is Taehyung's son, so he's going to be the man who plays the role of the father, not Park Jimin. Although, for now he lets them go, sighing softly to himself, "God, help me..." He massages his temples.

•••

He said he would kiss her in front of Taehyung. It's not like Jiah was desperate to kiss Jimin, but it makes her question what changed his mind. Maybe he forgot? Maybe he just said that to her without meaning it? So, now Jiah recalls the mere memory of Jimin almost kissing her when they were in the restroom. The imagination is vivid, fascinating to say the least and makes her steal a glance from her side where the insanely hot boss is driving.

She's thirsting over him. And yes, she wouldn't refuse if he stopped the car right now and pulled her in a deep kiss. Am I suddenly drunk? She frowns to herself, not believing her own thoughts about her boss and forces herself to look out of the window. The closed stores, empty streets and lights have to interesting enough to make her stop wishing that Jimin would really kiss her now because he didn't keep his words at the party.

Maybe he is just all talk..?

"Are you okay, Jiah?" His voice has her turning to him, a hint of hope lighting her eyes as she nods. Although mentally she has started to question if Park Jimin is actually that hot to have her losing her mind already. He can't be. Her eyes are probably exaggerating, mocking at her for not having a man and Jimin becomes just the person needed. He's handsome, rich, successful, intelligent and most importantly he knows how to have his way with people. Jiah is a victim.

It irritates her how he looks gorgeous every time her eyes make it to his face; when she makes his tie, standing so close that one more step would have their bodies touching; when he touched her waist today and she felt she could melt in his hands; when she keeps blurting out embarassing stuff and he just lets out a controlled chuckle, only enough to have her body on fire. All of the things Park Jimin did were more or less annoying and frustrating if pondered upon like Jiah is doing right now. But who said she wouldn't forgive him if he tried to make up with a kiss?

The Park Jimin rant is interrupted with the buzz of Jiah's phone, making her sigh on seeing Yoongi's name on the screen. She answers the call, leaning her head back and massages her temples, "I'm on my way," She says before Yoongi asked.

"How are you coming back? Is that butt-face dropping you home?"

"Can you not..." She whispers yells, covering the phone with her hand, visibly panicking which makes Jimin frown in confusion. "I swear to god I'm gonna choke you to death when I'm home!"

"I'll smack the shit out of you if you lay a finger on me, brat," Yoongi hisses, "Now tell me, how are you coming?"

"Uhm, my boss," She mumbles, subconsciously glancing at Jimin who couldn't hold back the smirk, nodding his head subtly. Jiah clears her throat, "I'll be home in five minutes. Don't worry,"

"Hm, be safe,"

A call ending with Yoongi is a relief for Jiah. She trusts him a lot in her life, but not when it comes to what he has to say about her choices in men and in general. He has no filter on his mouth and that's one of the most annoying things about Min Yoongi. More annoying than Jimin not kissing her to release some pent up stress. "Oh god!" She curses under her breath for bringing Jimin up again.

"Is everything okay?" She looks at him, pulling up a small smile, nodding her head again that she doesn't realise until he mentions it, "Did I do something wrong?"

Now it's her turn to frown, not knowing what he's saying, "Sorry?"

And Jimin makes it a bit clearer, "You don't utter a word to me,"

"Oh..." Jiah blinks a few times, her mouth drying up as she shakes her head quickly, "No no, it's nothing. I'm just tired," and crazy.

"Ah yeah, you must be. It's been a long day," He nods, "And about Taehyung, how do you... Er I mean, are you realy okay with all this?"

"Yeah, I said it's fine. He's not the best person out there," She shrugs her shoulders.

"Well, nobody is," Jimin hums.

"Certainly," Jiah looks at him, and Jimin seems to catch it. He takes a deep breath, finally taking it in his hands to stop the car and unbuckles the seat belt to face Jiah. It's not a drill! She gulps down the saliva, looking out if the window and points to the left, "We have to take a left from there,"

"I remember," Jimin says, "What's actually bugging me is the looks you keep giving me. Tell me if I did something,"

"Uh what are you saying?" She simply stares at him, waiting for him to explain further.

"You're throwing shade at your boss, miss Jiah. Ever since we left the party, you've been giving me side eyes, then you weren't really answering me, and now this 'not the best person' thing. Why is that?" He's not mad. His voice is calm, soft infact. Just a bit perplexed as he tries to understand his mistake as much as Jiah was trying to figure out how to tell him that those 'side eyes' weren't really side eyes but her sneaky glances to look at his handsome face.

She looks down, embarrassed enough for the day and sighs, "I'm sorry, sir. That wasn't my intention,"

"Then tell me if something's bothering you? Is it Kim Taehyung?"

"Uh no no, not him," She shakes her head, "It's nothing, sir. Please don't worry about me. We should get going, it's late already," Kiss!

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," She hums.

Jimin starts the engine without a word, taking the left they were supposed to and soon pulls up in front of the condominium where Jiah lives. He steps out with Jiah, walking up to her side and smiles, "I hope the party wasn't too bad for you," He says.

"Ah no, it's not like that. I'll get used to it now,"

"Please do," Jimin chuckles and once again Jiah's drowning in his eyes, getting lost in the smooth voice. It's pretty late for stuff to go straight anyway. Past twelve is the devil's hour, people don't lie, folks.

Jimin, too, stares at her, finding everything about her perfect even under the dim light, suddenly rising the heat inside him with his thoughts telling him to just kiss her like he has wanted to do for a long time. Ever since she started working under him, all he wanted to do at least once was to feel her lips against his own, and if he's lucky enough to get past that, he'd be worshipping her.

He steps closer, cupping the side of her face and licks his lips, "You're not in a hurry, are you?"

Jiah's grip on her purse is so tight, that she might just break the clutch at this point. But she manages to shake her head, biting her lip consciously under Jimin's gaze. The gaze that has her squirming everytime no matter how much she tries to ignore it. "Good," He leans closer, his thumb brushes against her cheek gently, and she closes her eyes feeling the warm breath falling on her skin, "I might steal a few minutes from you,"

Jiah's unspoken wish is heard when Jimin leans down, locking her lips with his. It's a soft one to start with as Jimin never tries to push anything too fast, resting his one hand on the jaw and the other gliding down to her waist, pulling her closer in one step. Jiah wraps her arms around his neck hesitantly, although a smile breaks in between the kiss, winning over her own self for Jimin finally kissed her.

The smile doesn't go unnoticed by Jimin, who opens his eyes staring at the girl, sucking on her lower lip, releasing a soft breath while her eyelids close tighter, "You should've asked me," He mutters in a deep voice, "You should've told me you wanted to kiss me,"

Jiah opens her eyes slowly, breathing through her mouth slowly as she tilts her head up, arching up a brow, "And let you go feeling like a special man?" She chuckles softly, fixing his tie and shakes her head, "Sorry, sir,"

Jimin's gaze grows curious as he smirks, arching up a brow at her, "So, if I'm not special, what could be the reason that Park Jiah, who not to mention has threatened to choke me before, is letting me kiss her? Even pretended to date me in front of her ex? And oh, literally killing me with her eyes because I didn't kiss her yet?"

"Fine, I get it," Jiah mumbles, "You may be a little special- But! not that special,"

"I can always work on improving that," Jimin whispers to her, kissing her lips again before finally pulling away, "You should go now, or else I might just keep kissing you all night,"

Not like Jiah would complain, but being practical and a mother (God! Jihun!), she nods, "Thank you for today, sir," She says to him.

"How Many times do I need to remind you to call me Jimin?" He sighs, patting her cheek gently, "Sir feels too formal,"

"Yes, sir," She grins, taking a step back and waves at him, heading inside before he could react, "Have a good night, Mr Park!"

Jimin stares at her figure until she finally disappears inside the building, and he lets out a breath, smiling down at himself, rubbing the back of his neck, "I am having a good night, miss Jiah," He hushes to himself, shaking his head suddenly as he realises that he was smiling and murmuring alone. He gets in the car quickly, igniting the engine and drives away, "You're driving me crazy,"
