Chapter 03 || A Random Jerk

"But you cannot go like this Jimin, you are the CEO and you do need someone to assist you." Namjoon sighs, massaging his temples.

Jimin says nothing, not paying much mind to the elder's words and keeps shuffling through the files, frustrated but not that frustrated to throw temper tantrums yet. He does acknowledge his misery in the whole situation, ever since he fired Isa, even if the girl messed up half of her work, it still helped him a bit. And now, not having anybody to get him his daily shot of black coffee or get the desired files and know the schedule of the day, it was sure getting messed up.

He stops eventually, giving up and glances at Namjoon, seeing the man still resting his hip against the desk. With a deep sigh, Jimin nods, "You're right, get me a new secretary."

"I don't have a stock of employees for you in my pocket, Park Jimin."

"Geez, okay!" The younger exasperates, throwing his arms in the air, showing that he surrenders, "Look, hyung, I'm dying right now, I get it that I need a secretary. So will you pretty please help me find one?"

"That sounds melodious." Namjoon grins, showing off his dimples, making Jimin roll his eyes. "I'll see for some new applicants."

"New applicants," Jimin turns to him with a smile gradually lifting the corners of his mouth, "What about that girl... what was her name?"

"Who?"

"Uh she joined last week, around the time I fired Isa."

"Jiah?"

"Jiah, right, yeah that girl." Jimin nods.

Namjoon stares at him, pondering to find one reason why Park Jimin would be acting like this suddenly after practically spending all his life as a living mannequin that knows nothing but to make profit. No secretary ever lasted nore than a few months with him, Isa being an out-of-the-world exception who secured her position for three years, despite making and repeating stupid mistakes throughout her time.

Apart from this, the only thing that appealed and grabbed Namjoon's attention was Jiah's secret of being a single mother. He knew getting her into this, ie. being Jimin's personal secretary would steal a lot of time from her daily life and require plenty of hardwork to keep up with the guy's attitude and jerk-ish ass.

So he sighs deeply and shakes his head, "Not her, I don't think she's the right one."

"Why not?" Jimin cocks a brow.

"Because she's a newbie and doesn't know most of the in and outs of this company yet. She's still learning."

"She's learning under you, she can learn under me too." Jimin states with not much thought of Namjoon's tormented nature, "I want her."

"I don't think she'll agree."

"We'll raise the salary."

"Why are you so desperate? Don't tell me you fell for the poor girl already."

"Why are you so desperate to stop me? Don't tell me you fell for the poor girl already, hyung." Jimin smirks, leaning forward as his palms rest on the table top, looking at the elder man who scoffs in response.

"You're crazy sometimes."

"I'm not. Just get that girl." Jimin says, patting Namjoon's shoulder.

"Not to be too nosy or anything, what are you even thinking?"

"Nothing my dear hyung, can't I just want myself a good secretary. I believe that girl will do a fine job, at least better than Isa, or else we'll go for another one."

Namjoon's eyes lower for an instant, he nods slowly, but not completely wanting to give his hundred percent to the assigned task this time which Jimin notices and tilts his head with a frown knitting his brows together.

"Did she bribe you for the job or what?"

"Oh shut up," The elder breathes out, turning on his feet and heads to the door, "I'll see what I can do. Don't be too desperate, Mr Park."

"Yah! Who are you calling desperate?! I can fire you too!"

"Whatever"

"Aish!" Jimin shakes his head, throwing himself on his chair as he rests back and turns around to face the glass wall, looking out at the reddish orange tint of the Seoul skyline. The sun goes down, far away, as if being eaten raw by the tall buildings either side of the Han river that has no origin and end to the eye.

He remembers the day he came here, in this office, for the first time with his father, at the age of thirteen, knowing full well that it would be his office in future, because Park Seongmin didn't teach his son to fail. With high academic scores, impressive sports and art abilities, intelligence and intellectual skills, Park Jimin was built to be perfect by his father.

At this day, being on top of almost every business news and magazines, the father was more than just proud, while Jimin had neutral feelings towards his dominance growing over many business firms and conquering all he wanted to build an empire that would be his; not his dad's, not his mom's, just his.

5:30 pm; Jiah had left the office building after Jaesung assured her that her working hours were done and there's no major work due. It was indeed a thrilling a week for her, from bumping encounters with the boss that scared her to the depth of her gut, thinking the angry young man might fire her on the first week; to making amazing friends which included the branch president Kim Namjoon as well. That was the best thing that happened.

He's a sweetheart with an even sweeter smile complimented with dimples either side. Jiah feels his smile is contagious, when he smiled at her today as an appreciation after she did some paperwork without any supervision, it was amusing for her to feel how her lips curved on their own into a smile. It's hard to not smile at that smile.

On talking and getting to know Namjoon more as they coincidentally ran into each other during lunch, Jiah came to know he was friends with Yoongi and this made the girl a bit confused. How come Yoongi never told her this? Getting a job here would've been easier! But at the same it leaves her quite impressed at the fact that Yoongi, despite being cold and introverted, actually has a great circle of friends. She knew SeokJin, now Namjoon, and she's even heard of one of Yoongi's friends being a manager for a famous actor.

She shakes her head, looking up from her phone where SeokJin's messeges were displayed a few seconds ago, telling her that Jihun is fine and it's okay if she's going to take more time. From analysing Yoongi's social circle, her mind now runs towards her son, who must be waiting for her to come and take him with a pack of his favourite jelly bears as a reward for being a good boy. Now this habit wasn't induced by Jiah, in fact, Yoongi's constant praising and rewarding culture with the toddler brought him to a point where he demanded jelly bears whenever he did something great, for instance, staying with SeokJin in the daycare while mamma worked.

Jiah sighs, entering a store at the corner of the street where an old lady greets her with a warm smile over the counter, making her smile and bow in return. Going through the aisles, her mind contemplates if she should take the honey chips or the hot and spicy ones for herself, but then the realisation of gaining weight makes her sigh as she puts the packets back on the shelf and forces herself to walk straight and get the main thing she came here for in the first place. Ah there!

"Hey, long time no see!" A voice says, sounding too excited to be considered normal. Jiah looks up, raising an eyebrow as there's a man at the end of the aisle, waving in her direction. She blinks a few times, trying her best to recognise the pair of eyes for the rest of the face is hidden behind a black mask, as the man walks over to her.

"Me ?" She hesitates a little, glancing behind her to make sure she's not mistaking him to be talking to her.

"Obviously baby, who else is here?" The man chuckles, taking the jelly bears from her hand and nods, "Ah thanks, I thought you forgot about these."

"Excuse m-"

"I know, I know, relax." His eyes are dark, boring into Jiah's, as if trying to communicate with her desperately, while his hands are already on her waist. Taking a step ahead, he turns her around, bringing her in a backhug as he holds her hands to keep her from pulling away, and lowers his head near her ear, "Listen, I'm sorry, but please help me, don't push me."

"Wha-"

"Shh please," He whispers, making the girl shiver lightly as his warm breah washes over her ear. Even though his voice has an RJ worthy heaviness and sounds sexy this close, but he's stranger, a creep, a pervert, and probably many other similar adjectives.

So with a deep breath and a frown creasing Jiah's brows together, she pushes him away, turning around swiftly to throw a sharp glare at his face, "Who do you think you are?! You nasty pervert!"

"Excuse me?" He tilts his head, staring at her with his doe-like eyes that are partially covered with the bangs falling on his forehead, "I told you I'm sorry. You don't have to create a scene."

"Oh really? You think you can get that close with any girl and she can't even push your filthy ass away?!"

He rolls his eyes, and straightens his leather jacket which is black in color. In fact, every visible peice of clothing on his body is black. Maybe Jiah was too busy grasping the situation to notice anything about him, but now that he's standing at a comfortable distance, her eyes acknowledge the only black glove on his left hand while the right one has nothing more than patterns of ink tattooed on his skin.

He pulls up the sleeves, looking around outside the store and sighs, glancing back at Jiah, "Look, I'm not going to fight little girls. But just so you know, you're not doing a great job right now."

"As if you are." She scoffs, "Apologize."

"Are you deaf or what?" He mocks, "I apologized in the very beginning."

"Do it again."

"Yeah, keep on dreaming. I ain't doing shit for you." He states, pulling his mask a little down just enough for Jiah's eyes to notice a small scar on the crest of his left cheek. His lips tug up with a sly smirk from the same side, leaning in as he glances down, placing the pack of jelly bears in her hand.

"Geez! Do you have some problem? Why do you keep coming so close?! If you're thinking I can't break you in pieces, boy you're so wrong." Jiah threatens him, maintaining a stern glare, which only makes his smirk wider, and Jiah sighs deeply, putting the jelly bears away. "You asked for it," She shrugs, grabbing him by his arm and shoulder and kicks right on his crotch, eliciting a deep groan from him.

Jiah smiles sarcastically, pushing him away as he falls on the tiled floor, "I'm trained in Jiu Jitsu for eight years. Beleive me this is nothing."

"You!" He glares up at her, having his one hand placed on the crotch of his pants. Despite having the mask on half of his face, Jiah could tell he was in pain just by the voice and figure out the scowl by his scrunched brows, "You'll regret this..."

"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night." She scoffs, grabbing back the jellies and says, "Good bye, don't try to invade anybody's personal space from next time."

"Fuck you!"

"Get lost" Jiah ignores his growling voice behind her and makes her way towards the counter, quickly paying for her son's treat and walks out, breathing deeply with a hope to forget the crazy encounter she had just now. What type of people are there in the world?

Shaking her head at the thought, she pulls herself straight, smiling at the daycare's label on the building as she enters.

"Mamma!" Jihun chirps, leaving all the toys around him and runs towards Jiah who is crouching down with her arms open and a wide smile stretching her lips as she stares at her baby.
