FEB 2020 WINNER!
Congratulations to Abigail Joanna for winning our February 2020 award with Lady Slave!
In the country of Dvros, slaves are branded with a mark to show their class to all who look upon them. Never allowed to own, only to be owned by a master, they are treated as the dogs that roam the city streets. Emelyn, a slave of the Thosan governor, though abhorrent of the emperor who rules with laws of iron, accepted her fate long ago and resigned to serve her harsh master well. But when the governor's wife sends her to Fievros Palace to be a Thosan representative and her life is threatened at each turn, she realizes that she can no longer accept the emperor and his corrupt rule. But a rebellion has already begun, and the Knights of the New World strive to overthrow the throne and take the elder prince captive, ever vowing that it is for God they fight.
Caught between loyalty and betrayal, Emelyn must choose a side. She must stay with the prince who wishes for a timely change of laws when his time to assume the throne arrives, despite the thousands dying from the harshness of the emperor's rule, or she must join the Knights and fight, forever running from her mark and from the most powerful army in Dvros.
