ㅤㅤㅤ"PLEASE! I-I CAN pay you if you want-" Veronica insisted, searching for her wallet as Ezekiel recovered himself from the shock.

ㅤㅤㅤ"I don't want your money! I don't even know you!" the fairy crossed her arms, frowning. Claire, who still stood by her side, was silent, analyzing both Veronica and Ezekiel with interest.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Look, I know that there's a big evil fairy coming to kill us or whatever, but I'm not gonna let my little sister fight her all alone! If there's really a chance that we might die, than I want to be prepared for it." the teen raised her chin, trying to seem taller in comparison to the fairy.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Okay, yeah, but don't drag me into it!" Ezekiel complained, shaking his friend's shoulder with a worried expression.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Shut up Ezekiel." the girl whispered to him before continuing to try and convince the ginger.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Look, my friend Ezekiel is a great fighter, I've seen him fight before, he would be a great addition to your team, and so would I!" she smiled, but Solamon was still frowning. Veronica gulped, not so sure she could convince the fairy with her great talking skills.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Solamon, I think you should accept them as your apprentices too." Claire helped the girl, they all looked at her in surprise - she was so silent that they almost forgot she was even there -, but Sol only glared at the girl, who tensed up with all the attention she had gained all of a sudden.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Just listen, okay? If we have more people to fight for us it'll be way easier to win against your sister! Don't you agree?" she explained, putting a hand over Izzet's shoulder as she frowned down at her.

ㅤㅤㅤThe fairy became silent, she didn't knew if it was a good idea to take two new teens as her apprentices; she was barely able to bear Claire with her obsession with romances and contagious happiness. It would be hard to train so many people at the same time, Sol thought she might explode by the excessive amount of stress.

ㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤIt was amazing how Claire noticed the slight change in Solamon's patience, she had gain some of it durring her time as a teacher since Ezekiel and Beatrice were not easy to teach; it was like they shared a single neuron in their heads, but it was absurdly cute to see how careful she became with her words and even with her actions.

ㅤㅤㅤShe was luckier when teaching Veronica and Claire, they were both very quick to catch on to each other's fighting skills and Sol was at ease when she put the both of them on a match against each other, but Veronica was still a pain in the ass with how curious she was, it had been only a day since she took them under her wing and she already became tired of how many times she had to kick the teen out of her library for skipping her lessons to read books about Eriynx.

ㅤㅤㅤNot even Izzet's familiar believed how easily Veronica convinced Sol and Ezekiel that they could fight for her; while Veronica wanted to learn to fight to protect her loved ones from the danger that was approaching, the crow guessed Ezekiel only agreed to it so he could be close to her.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Beatrice, what are you doing?" the fairy asked with a frown after she catches the little girl starting a fight with Ezekiel, who looked very scared of her.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Ezekiel doesn't want to be my lab rat! Help me convince him, miss Ezzetlum! Vica didn't wanna help me!" Beatrice pouted, almost begging to her knees as she glared at her sister from far; Sol almost laughed at her nickname, Vica sounded a lot like a car brand.

ㅤㅤㅤ "Why don't you want to be her lab rat?" the older teen asked, crossing her arms as Ezekiel frowned. Sol truly didn't understand what was so wrong with that, she only ever taught Beatrice to cast small amounts of fire and some basic tricks that couldn't hurt anybody.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Are you kidding me?! SHE WANTS TO EXPLODE ME!" he complained, trying to push the little girl away from himself as she insisted in trying to scratch him with her small nails.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Oh." the fairy simply thought for a moment before she kept walking. The boy tried to call her name for help, but she simply ignored him as Beatrice failed to cast the explosion spell; it was far too complex for an amateur witch like herself.

ㅤㅤㅤAs she passed near Veronica and Claire, she wondered who would be the first one to attack, they were both only circling each other, waiting for the first blow.

ㅤㅤㅤIn the end, Sol discovered that Claire had small patience like herself, she was always the first one to try and attack, and this time it was not different from their own training sessions. As Claire went for a punch in Veronica's gut, the girl was quick to block it with her arms and to push Claire back.

ㅤㅤㅤWhile Claire was always trying to attack, Veronica avoided it the most, she was more on the defensive side. She was far from being incapable of attacking, Sol considered her more of an observer.

ㅤㅤㅤSol silently congratulated Claire for a perfect lead kick she managed to hit in Veronica's side, then she watched as the older teen returned the attack by pulling Claire's leg and punching her face with her free hand. Both teens had ragged breaths, but they were still firmly standing.

ㅤㅤㅤClaire tried to punch Veronica's face and the girl blocked again, but the smaller girl used her free hand to punch her gut and make her lean towards herself. Using the advantage, the black haired girl kneed Veronica's chin and made her fall in her back.

ㅤㅤㅤWith her now on the floor, Claire sat over her and raised her fist to blow a final punch, but Veronica raised her hands to defend herself. A small magenta light came out of the girl's hand and quickly hit Claire in the forehead, sending her back with force.

ㅤㅤㅤEveryone stopped what they were doing to look over to Veronica and Claire as the older Baudin sister trembled in pain because of her burning hand, as if she had attacked herself with the spell.

ㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤClaire holded a bag of ice against her own forehead for a cut that she had gained by training with Veronica, the witch in assemble that had new bandages all over her right arm, the one she used to hit an accidental spell.

ㅤㅤㅤ"I have to say, I'm not very surprised. Your sister is a witch, it had to come from somewhere." Sol said to try and make the girl feel a little better, she seemed confused and sad with the new discovery. Beatrice and Ezekiel watched from the corner of Sol's room as she healed both girls enough for the pain to be more bearable; Solamon wasn't very good with healing spells, she could barely fix small cuts on herself, so it was no surprise that she couldn't heal them properly.

ㅤㅤㅤThe crow was flying around the room to find something to eat, it landed in Beatrice's head and began to eat pieces of the fabric of her red bow. Ezekiel made a disgusted face, but ignored the crow.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Does... does this mean I'm allowed to read the magic books in your library?" Veronica asked in a low tone, uncomfortably moving around as she sat in Solamon's bed.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Uhh yes, I suppose so-" the red head was interrupted by Veronica's happy squeal, the girl apologized shortly after, but kept smiling.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Oh, and sorry for what I did to your hair, Claire." she scratched the back of her own head and said teen frowned, not understanding what she ment.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Why? What happened to my hair?" Claire stood up from Sol's chair and walked in front of the mirror, only then noticing an extra colorless stripe in her hair. She remained silent for a minute before she started laughing slightly, making Veronica less tense by that.

ㅤㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤㅤ

ㅤㅤㅤThe two girls agreed to continue the training, but Veronica asked for some time to walk alone in the forest so she could think of everything; Solamon could understand why, she and Ezekiel did say it was a lot to take in.

ㅤㅤㅤAs she walked through the path of big trees, Veronica found a place where the grass was darker and shorter than the other places around it, someone had burned a perfect circle in the grass; a controlled fire, perhaps.

ㅤㅤㅤVeronica was a little too curious to just ignore and leave it behind, she messed around with the sticks and dead grass to try and find something in the small pile. There, she found a single ripped page and a book with missing ones, though they didn't complete each other.

ㅤㅤㅤShe couldn't understand a single word of what the page said, the letters danced around until they turned in a language she could understand. She didn't know if her eyes did that or if the page did it by itself.

ㅤㅤㅤA lot of strange things had happened that day, it wasn't even a surprise for her anymore.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Ignis umbra." she read, but nothing happened.

ㅤㅤㅤStanding up, the girl put the book on the floor and extended her free hand, looking at the page for instructions of how to do the spell correctly.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Ignis umbra!" she repeated, this time, a sphere made of dark fire was expelled from the palm of her hand, burning the center of the bandages that covered it up, and started a small fire amongst the trees. Desperate, Veronica ran to the fire and jumped over it multiple times until the flames dissipated.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Woah." the teen smiled, proud of herself for doing the spell, even if she felt a little weak after making it.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Dark magic. You messed with dark magic." Sol frowned with the news, Veronica told her about the spell and gave her the page, to which the fairy stared at with disgust.

ㅤㅤㅤ"I thought I had burned this, how did it survive the fire...? Veronica, did you find anything else there?" she seemed confused, analyzing the page up and down in search of a single sign of magic that had saved it from her fire. The girl did not like her tone at all, she flinched at Solamon's harsh voice, Veronica didn't know if telling her about the book was a good idea.

ㅤㅤㅤ"No, just the page." she lied. Different from the ginger, the Baudin was a very good liar and could convince Sol very easily.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Good. You won't be needing this, trust me. Last time I tried to mess with this type if magic I became sick for a whole year, it surprises me that you're still in good health." Sol put her hand over Veronica's forehead to check for her temperature, except she was still a little harsh with her touch, it felt more like a slap than a demonstration of affection.

ㅤㅤㅤ"Um- yeah, maybe that's my type of magic. Is there anything similar to that? Maybe I can work with it like Beatrice could work with some of the Sun Spells." she smiled, trying not to out herself on her recent lie - even though she was a good liar, Veronica still valued honesty, it was a waste of talent for such a fastidious person like herself -.

ㅤㅤㅤ"I recommend you start trying the Moon Spells, it's kind of similar, I guess." Solamon shrugged, not so certain of her words, before she pressed the old page in her hands and burned it with her magic.

ㅤThe old teen soon returned to her match against Ezekiel, who looked terrified of her, leaving Veronica behind as the girl sighed and glanced to her backpack where she put the book.
