ㅤㅤㅤCAMILO LAUGHED AS he runned around Eriynx with Pam and Safira, they ran from the "grass monster" in joy. Their big sister followed shortly after, walking very slowly so it would take longer for her to reach them. She had both of her arms raised and covered in vines she put there to play as the monster, Sol kept screaming nonsense to scare the kids as she smiled unconsciously.
ㅤㅤㅤ"I'm gonna get you!" she shouted, trying to make her voice seem deeper.
ㅤㅤㅤAs they passed near ጠል's house, Solamon could hear someone shouting from the outside, she was quick to recognize the voice as Yudith's. Worried, the fairy removed the vines from her arms and smiled to her little siblings, who seemed confused as to why she stopped running after them.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Um- sorry guys, I'm tapping out!" she explained, raising her hands and talking in her normal voice to show that she wasn't playing anymore. The kids sighed in disappointment before they all ran to the yard to try and come up with another play.
ㅤㅤㅤThe girl waited for them to be far away before she flew near the door, not wanting to make a lot of noise since she shouldn't be eavesdropping like that.
ㅤㅤㅤHer sisters, Yudith and Luciana, were facing ጠል, who was the only one that didn't had her back turned to the door.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Work with Gunmar? You must be out of your mind, Aospeni. We will never-" mother was frowning as she spoke, that was never a good sign; what she had just said shook Izzet a lot, did her sister really said that? Sol couldn't keep herself from gasping when her sister turned away and rolled her eyes at ጠል.
ㅤㅤㅤ"I knew you wouldn't understand. Don't you see, ጠል?! He's stronger than anyone! If we join him in the war that soon will happen, we will win for sure! Humans won't be a threat no more, we can live with no fear!" she tried to reason with her creator, still frowning as she spoke because of how stubborn her mother was being.
ㅤㅤㅤ"I see your point, Aospeni, I truly do, but it is not a good idea to fight by the enemy's side. Don't you see? After the war, he will enslave all of us! We are nothing but pawns in his little games, it doesn't matter if we win for or against him, the ending will be the same."
ㅤㅤㅤThe white haired fairy looked over at her sister for support, but Luciana only looked away with a pitiful expression as Yudith frowned at the small betrayal.
ㅤㅤㅤ"You have a closed mind, my mother, that's why you don't see our victory! If you won't choose to help us, then I'll have to change your mind by force." as she was done speaking, Sol retreated from the door, scared by her sister.
ㅤㅤㅤYudith was the closest Solamon had to a betrayal, though it was more against the whole fairy kind rather than herself individually, since they weren't very close. In the end, Yudith was true to her words, she attacked Eryinx with the Gumm-gumm prince at night, when everyone was asleep and only some of the fairies in charge of night shift were out. Solamon was a survivor from the attack, different from some of her siblings, who where murdered by the prince and his lover.
ㅤㅤㅤ"...ጠል loved her daughter too much to simply kill her like that, she imprisoned Yudith far away from our home in a cave full of ancient dragons to be sure she wouldn't be a threat, but let the Gumm-gumm prince go in order to avoid any more conflict." Solamon explained as she dodged a calf-kick Claire was about to give her. The girl nodded to the explanation and went for a uppercut with her left arm, to which Sol couldn't dodge in time. The fairy fell in her back from the direct kick she recieved in the guts after Claire attacked her, the girl pressed her hands to the ground so she wouldn't move.
ㅤㅤㅤClaire insisted in coming along to Izzet's cottage, she still wished to be trained and Merlin himself reassured the fairy that there was no big danger that they couldn't handle in their way to New Jersey.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Aha!" the girl smiled with her first victory, but Sol headbutted her with force. The girl retreated a bit and Solamon could finally use her hands to grab Claire's right arm and twist it so the girl would fall beside her before locking her up in an armbar.
ㅤㅤㅤ"OWOWOWOW OKAYOKAYOKAY ቿሁ ዕቿነጎነፕዐ!" she spoke with the only phrase she had learned in Eriynxit from Solamon - for the fairy, it made a lot more sense than "I give up"; what a boring, nonsensical phrase to say -.
ㅤㅤㅤSol let her go with a laugh, both the girls stayed on the ground to catch their breaths before standing up to finish training.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Do you want some tea? It could help you relax after training so hard. And you really need a bath, you smell like sweat and it's disgusting me profoundly." the older teen joked, gaining a pout in return. Claire smelled herself and huffed, she wasn't smelling that badly.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Yeah, tea would be nice. By the way, there's something I don't understand in Aspen's story. If she's imprisoned in a cave with a bunch of dragons, then why did you have to come back to destroy her?" as they walked to the kitchen, Claire asked in curiosity, a trait she seemed to show a lot. It terrified Izzet.
ㅤㅤㅤ"That's what the crow came to tell me yesterday. My sister is a very strong witch, she managed to suck the energy from the dragons, even in her sleep, and killed them by feeding on their souls." the phrase scared the little teen, who felt a shiver down her spine as she sat in one of Sol's chairs around the round table.
ㅤㅤㅤ"...Oh..." she answered shortly, the ginger noticed her sudden worry and cleared her throat, trying to find the words to take positive points out of the situation.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Well- we are lucky, though! Although Yudith is powerful, she's still a fairy, not made to take so much power. I highly doubt she'll even be able to use most of it. It'll take some time for her to get used to it, we have time to prepare ourselves." Sol smiled after Claire sighed in relief, sitting by her side to serve her the tea.
ㅤㅤㅤ"How much time, exactly?" the black haired girl asked, trying to put her bangs back in place behind her ear before taking a sip of tea.
ㅤㅤㅤ"A month, maybe." the fairy shrugged, seemingly not so worried about the fact that her sister was about to come back to kill her and probably the trollhunter and his friends for taking the life of her lover.
ㅤㅤㅤBefore she could take a sip of her own cup of tea, the crow flew inside the kitchen by the window, landing carelessly in the table. Claire was the only one surprised by his presence, she wasn't used to the bird appearing out of nowhere. A knock on the door explained why he came back home in the first place.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Ding dong." he loved doing that noise. After his job was done, he flew away once again, leaving a single black feather behind.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Oh ጠቿዪዕል..." Sol swore, she already knew who was at the door.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Language." Claire warned, taking another sip from her tea as her friend stood up to get the door.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Hey miss Izzeltrom! Can-" Beatrice started, smiling widely.
ㅤㅤㅤ"No." the fairy closed the door, not regretting it for a moment.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Who was it?" she heard Claire's voice from the kitchen, a horrible moment to speak so loudly, she figured by Beatrice's reaction to a female voice inside the house. The door opened on it's own, Beatrice had a shocked expression on her face.
ㅤㅤㅤ"THERE'S SOMEONE IN YOUR HOUSE, MISS IZZARD!" she screamed, the black haired teen appeared from the kitchen, surprised after she heard a kid's voice.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Yes, I know that, Beatrice. I invited her." Sol pinched her frown, suddenly feeling a headache.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Oh. Is she your girlfriend?" the little girl asked, too curious for her own good. Solamon decided she hated curious people as much as she hated kids.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Oh, no! I'm her apprentice, in a way." Claire laughed silently, not noticing the glare Izzet had sent her.
ㅤㅤㅤ".............SO YOU'RE TAKING APPRENTICES NOW, HUH." the girl screamed again, her voice cracked a few times by how loud she was. Beatrice didn't hid her angry frown as she tapped her foot against the stone path in front of Solamon's cottage.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Huh? Oh, you want to be her apprentice too?" Claire asked, smiling worriedly at the little girl as she angrily fixed the red bow in the top of her head.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Yes. She promised to teach me magic if I didn't tell anyone what I saw in her yard. I saw miss Illzartum training her magic there, it was AMAZING!" the girl suddenly smiled again, bouncing up and down in excitement.
ㅤㅤㅤAnd so, Solamon knew she was screwed if Claire was living with her for too long, because as soon as she heard the word "promised", she insisted to the fairy that she had to teach the poor girl some tricks.
ㅤㅤㅤStanding in front of both her new apprentices, Sol was in rage. She took a broom and thought of doing the same Merlin did to Hisirdoux many years before, just force her to clean everything up to pretend she was teaching the girl something. Solamon changed her idea quickly, she would still be able to hear the kid's irritating voice, which was not nice. Instead, she raised the broom and casted a spell in it before giving it to Beatrice.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Get on the broom." she ordered, the little girl did it with no hesitation, smiling the whole time. As soon as she was sitting in tha broom, it flew up and started shaking a bit.
ㅤㅤㅤ"Your first lesson is to learn to control the broom. Good luck, ሀልዕጎል." the fairy smiled before she opened her window and watched as the broom flew out in maximum speed with the girl screaming loudly in terror.
ㅤㅤㅤSol turned back with a smile to see a frowning Claire. She laughed slightly, taken aback with the girls reaction, before raising her hands innocently.
ㅤㅤㅤ"What? I don't like kids." she did not feel bad for calling Beatrice a bitch in her own language.
