Chapter 7

"Good morning, class!"

A grumble went through the rows of the classroom.

"C'mon, try to be a bit more enthusiastic! Aren't you happy to start this beautiful day with an interesting history lesson?," the woman standing in the front exclaimed proudly, cheeriness evident in her voice.

A bunch of sarcastic "Yay"s could be heard throughout the room, her raising her eyebrows at that and clearly not feeling impressed.

Her mood seemed to make a turn upward quickly, though. "Oh well. To cheer you up, we're going to do something new! Please pair up in groups of four, everyone, we're going to do a group project on World War II. And you shall not pair up with your seating neighbors, this should also be an opportunity to make new connections!" She clapped her hands twice, the loud sound echoing in everyone's ears and waking them up slowly.

Taehyung groaned.
How am I supposed to find three partners in here? Thank god Jimin sits a row ahead.

"Jiminie!," he called, Hoseok huffing next to him.

"Seriously, Taehyung? You hoe, I wanted to pair up with Jimin. Now I have to pair up with three people I don't know!" Taehyung giggled.

"Sorry, Hobi. You're a social butterfly, you will get along just fine. Bye now. Jiminie, over here!," he waved his silver-haired friend over while Hoseok scrunched his nose in annoyance and left after giving Taehyung a harsh slap on the back of his head.

"Ouch, you meanie!" The brunette fake pouted, seating himself on his desk next to Jimin, who had just arrived. "Great, you're here! Now we only need to find two more people." He crossed his legs and observed the very busy classroom while chewing on his imaginary gum, a habit he had picked up from being bored a lot.

"May I have the honor, Taehyung-ssi?," a rather deep, silk-like voice behind him asked. The brunette widened his eyes and turned around slowly, immediately gasping and narrowing his eyes as he layed eyes upon the intruder.

"Absolutely not! How dare you?!," he suddenly yelled, glaring at the approaching raven-haired boy.

Jungkook clutched his chest dramatically, pretending to be hurt. "Ouch. You're so cold to me, Taehyungie. I'm telling Mrs. Lee that you're bullying me!"

Taehyung gasped. "Excuse me, bullying you?! You little asshole--" He was just about to jump off his desk and grab the ravenette's collar when all of a sudden, Mrs. Lee rushed towards their desk.

"Is there a problem here?," the teacher asked with a confused and slightly alarmed expression on her face.

"Nothing, Miss. Just telling Taehyung how delighted I am to be working with him and... Jimin." The transferee smiled charmingly, revealing his pearly white teeth that made him look a tad like a bunny.

She smiled widely. "Very well, Jungkook. I'm so glad you're getting along with everybody. I'll leave you to it, then." She moved towards the next desk, looking content.

Still smiling, Jungkook turned towards the speechless Taehyung. "She's so charmed by me, such a nice lady. Now, don't be jealous, my sweet. You're still the only one I have eyes for. I very much look forward to working with you, partner." Skillfully, he sat on the desk by swinging his legs over it in a hush and snaked an affectionate arm around Taehyung's shoulders.

Enraged, Taehyung tried to pry it off.
"Don't touch me. And just because you are in our group doesn't mean we're friends, okay?"

Jungkook, who still didn't let go of Taehyung's shoulder despite all the protest and just held him tighter, gave a satisfied smile. "Fantastic, I wanted to be more than that anyways." He winked.

Jimin, who watched the whole thing with his eyebrows raised and a rather disgusted frown etched upon his face, said nothing while rolling his eyes and biting his lower lip in annoyance.

Taehyung widened his eyes, highly infuriated. "Excuse me, how could you ever think I would fall for someone like--"

"Hey, Taehyung?" A new male entered the scene, making Taehyung inhale sharply. "Not you too!," he whined, throwing his head back in utter frustration.

The unknown boy inched closer and stopped right before him. "Can I work with you too?" Jungkook watched the scene unfold with sharp eyes. Who was that guy? Was he a threat?

He then remembered Yoongi telling him about the wannabe-badasses who were desperate for girlfriends or boyfriends, this one seemingly being a part of them. What he didn't know back then was that this one seemed to have taken a specific interest in Taehyung, for a while by now.

"No!," Taehyung exclaimed.
He stepped even closer.
"Can I be your boyfriend, then?"

This time, Jungkook spoke, feeling a twinge of jealousy. "Piss off, amateur. If anyone's gonna be his boyfriend, it's me." His expression darkened and his hold around Taehyung tightened even more.

The boy now turned towards Jungkook. "Newbie, you're nothing compared to me. Taehyung would never like a douchebag like you!"

Taehyung groaned. "Will the both of you please just shut up! I don't like either of you and it's gonna stay that way, now stop bugging me! BamBam, please find another group, I really can't deal with you right--"

"Oh, BamBam. How nice of you to join Taehyung's group, now you're complete! Now, let's get on to the task," Mrs. Lee interrupted, clapping her hands.

Taehyung wanted to die.

"Now that you're all seated with your partners, please grab a sheet and divide it into four pieces, then write two EU's and two AS's on them. You're gonna draw lots to decide who's doing research on which situation.

"Two of you will analyze World War II in Europe, two of you will analyze World war II in Asia. Now, get to work!" Mrs. Lee clapped her hands, smiling.

Draw lots? Shit, what if I have to work with Jeon Jungkook?!, Taehyung thought worriedly while writing a big AS onto the piece he was given.

"Jiminie, if I don't get the same as you, I'm killing myself!," he whispered to Jimin, who was sitting to his left. The silver-haired boy chuckled.

"Honestly, same," he whispered back into Taehyung's direction.

"I hope I can be your partner, Taehyung. In this history project and in life," BamBam said out of the blue.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes while Taehyung sighed.

"The answer is still no, BamBam." The boy to his right didn't seem to understand.
"You will change your mind, believe me." Taehyung scoffed.

He shrieked when he suddenly felt someone touch his hair.
BamBam was twirling a strand of his silky, brown locks around his finger, a dreamy expression on his face.
"You're so beautiful, Taehyung."

This time, it was Jungkook who slapped his hand away.
"Don't touch him, you bastard!"

BamBam sent him a death glare.
"I can do what I want, you twat!"
And for the first time today, Jimin spoke, being extremely annoyed:

"Can we just draw the stupid lots?! You people are getting on my fucking nerves!" Silently, both of them nodded, quite surprised.

Taehyung mouthed a 'Thank you, Jiminie' towards Jimin, who just smiled and started folding his paper.

"So, you know the rules. No peeking, no cheating, no picking-somthing-on-purpose," Jimin spoke boredly while mixing the papers, everyone nodding.

"Now, draw a lot," he said as he finished.

Taehyung hated to admit that he was a tad nervous, he really did not want to work with BamBam, he just found him too creepy.

Jungkook on the other hand was not much better, either. He seemed like an annoying prick who took everything for granted, Taehyung just couldn't stand him to a point where he would even choose BamBam over him.

Please Jimin, please Jimin, please Jimin, Taehyung thought in his head desperately while he unfolded the paper.

EU.

"Okay, so what did you guys get? I got AS," Jimin asked.

Fuck.

"EU," Taehyung groaned.

"AS," BamBam groaned.

"EU," Jungkook stated, proudly.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, no.
