the first dream of many
━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━
THINGS HAD been different for Odessa Stone since she came back from the Glen Capri. It had been a couple days since the cross-country trip and the biggest difference in Odessa's life since then was how she slept. Her dreams were bombarded with voices and small visions she could barely remember when she woke up.
She hadn't told anyone about them, because she didn't really know what they were. Were they just dreams? Her imagination? Or were they a sign to her, maybe her lost memories...
Over the past couple of days, Odessa could say one thing for sure about her dreams, the brunette boy from the motel was there every time. There he was, sitting next to her, smiling at her, standing in front of her. He was almost like... a friend to her. Even in those little flashes when she slept, she felt content and safe, something she didn't know she could feel outside of her friend group in Beacon Hills.
Since making amends with Stiles, she and the boy were still trying to figure out their theory for sacrifices. It wasn't until Scott texted them about two missing hospital workers did they finally have another solid lead.
"Hang on, hang on," Sheriff Stilinski halted the rapid discussion around him. As soon as Odessa and Stiles received the news from Scott, the two drove to the crime scene together where one of the Doctor's cars was found, "they were both in the car?"
"No, Dad, they're trying to tell you that it was two separate kidnappings, okay? Two Doctors, both gone."
"So whose car is this?"
From next to the Sheriff, Melissa chimed in, still in her scrubs, "Dr. Hilyard, the on-call Doctor. The E.R attending is the one that never made it in."
Sheriff sighed before focusing on Melissa, "let me just focus on getting your story first, all right?"
"Yeah."
"Guys, give us a second?"
The three teens nodded before walking away from the scene, but still made sure to be close enough to watch or listen to everything around them.
"These are definitely sacrifices, right?"
Stiles nodded to his best friend, "yeah, it's one Deaton mentioned: Healers."
"What about Danny," the McCall questioned, "he threw up Mistletoe. That's not a coincidence, and if he hadn't been with Ethan, he probably would've died. Danny's not a healer."
"I..."
Seeing as the boys were lost for ideas, Odessa spoke something that had been on her mind since she heard the news of Danny being admitted to the hospital, "maybe he did something the Darach didn't like," she offered, looking between her two friends, "you know, being so close to Ethan, I bet the Darach had been observing the people surrounding them and maybe they saw Danny doing something."
Stiles and Scott didn't offer an answer, but looked satisfied and somewhat impressed at the blonde's theory. The former looked back toward his Father, who was on the phone, "can you guys hear that?"
Odessa used her advanced hearing to listen in on the phone call. Her wide eyes met Scott's as they heard the same thing.
"They found a body."

Odessa woke up the next morning to make her and Melissa's morning coffee just like she always did. It was safe to say that the blonde was a morning person. She liked getting a head start on her day and taking her time when getting ready for school or plans during the weekend. It was Monday, meaning she had school soon so she put on her clothes for the day, which consisted of her usual straight leg jean, crop top and oversized leather jacket she stole from Scott's closet, and traveled downstairs to make the morning coffee. Satisfied with her cup she made for Melissa, the girl walked up to the woman's room and opened the door slowly.
"I might have been on watch last..."
Melissa chuckled, taking the coffee mug from Odessa's hands, "my heroes. Thanks, sweetie."
"My pleasure, Melissa," the blonde smiled before turning to the two boys, "do I even wanna know?"
Scott blinked, "we were watching over Mom to make sure she wasn't the third sacrifice."
"Wait," Melissa interjected, "didn't you say that they were all Doctors? I mean, I haven't had an M.D. recently attached to the end of my name, so I think I'm in the clear."
"Yeah, but it could just come under any kind of Healer, Mom, and you were definitely a Healer last night."
Odessa took the coffee mug out of the woman's hands and placed it on the bedside table to let the woman get ready, who spoke, "yeah well, I'm not gonna be anyone's human sacrifice today, so the three of you get your butts to school."
While the two boys left the room swiftly, the Stone placed a kiss on her caregiver's cheek before leaving as well. It was the little things Odessa did that made Melissa smile a little more everyday.

Deaton was taken. Odessa had gotten multiple texts from Stiles about how Scott left school to go to the Clinic and how they were going to follow him. So, when her third period ended, she left her class and the school building all together to meet Stiles at his Jeep. The girl was grateful the Stilinski invited her to tag along to the Clinic. Not only was Deaton important to her for her own answers on who and what she was, he was also really important to Scott, she wanted to be there for him.
"All right," Sheriff placed a hand on Scott's shoulder, glancing around at all three teens who seemed to be attached at the hip lately, "we're gonna do everything we can. Right now, the best thing you can do is go back to school."
The McCall glanced around the Clinic before motioning to one of the separate rooms, signaling his friends to follow him. Odessa sighed softly, glancing at Stiles, who only shrugged.
Once the door was shut, Scott spoke, "we have to tell him."
"You mean, like, tell him, tell him," Stiles furrowed his brow, "or tell him something else that isn't telling him what I think you want to tell him?"
"You know what I mean."
"You remember how your Mom reacted? She didn't look you in the eye for, like, a week."
"And she got over it," Scott whispered assuringly, "and—and it actually made us closer."
The Stilinski shook his head, "I don't know, dude. I mean, look at him," the three glanced back to the main room where they saw the Sheriff rub his forehead in frustration, "come on, he's completely overwhelmed as it is."
"He's overwhelmed because he has no clue what's happening," the Beta stressed, and Odessa couldn't help but agree, "he's got people dying in his town, the town that he's supposed to protect, and it's not his fault that he doesn't know what's happening. He's gonna find out sooner or later."
"Yeah, but is now really the right time?"
"What if not telling him now gets someone else killed?"
"What if telling him gets him killed, huh," Stiles inhaled sharply, his words coming out shakily, "I mean, okay, look, I get that Deaton's been like a Father to you. I get that, okay? But this is m—Scott, this is my actual Father. I can't... I can't lose both of my parents, all right? Not both of them."
Odessa didn't really know a lot about how Stiles' Mom died, only that she died when he was young. She sighed, knowing the feeling of not having parents, something she had a feeling wasn't just from losing her memories, "Stiles, you're not alone in this, okay," the blonde broke her silence, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder, "you have us, Derek, Allison and Lydia to help and protect and fight for him. Yes, he'll be overwhelmed by the new information, but it'll help in the long run."
The Stilinski sighed deeply, before nodding, "I'll tell him."
"We'll help you," Scott told him, smiling softly at the progress his two friends had made in getting along.
The three made their way back to the main room, ready to reveal everything, until a new person in the room caught their attention: Ms. Morrell, their guidance counselor.
"Please, whatever you need, however you can help find my brother," the woman spoke to the Sheriff and his Deputy. As soon as two Officers excused themselves, Morrell made her way to the teens, "okay, listen closely, all of you. No Sheriff, Deputy, or Detective is going to be able to find him."
"You don't have to ask us for help," Scott softly reassured, already willing to do whatever he could to save his boss.
"Actually, I'm trying to help you," Morrell replied, a determined look in her eyes, "because, if you're going to find my brother, then you need to use the one person who might actually have an ability to seek out the supernatural."
Odessa's eyes widened in realization from in between the boys, looking between them, "Lydia..."
━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━
The three teens made their way back to school around sixth period, where Odessa and Stiles found Lydia fairly quickly, letting Scott know who was also looking for the strawberry blonde. Soon, the two found an empty classroom for the four of them and got to work.
"A Ouija Board," Lydia questioned from her seat.
"Also called a Spirit Board, and it's worth a shot," the Stilinski disregarded the unimpressed look he got from the girl.
"A shot in the dark..."
"Would you just try it, please, okay," Stiles unboxed the board and handed the pieces to Odessa, who set them up in front of her friend, "let's not forget who this is for—Scott's boss, the guy who has saved our collective asses on more than one occasion."
"Oh, wait, should we all do this," Cora broke her silence and asked.
"Yeah, yeah," the boy muttered. All four teens laced their ten fingers on the guide, "you guys ready," receiving nods, he continued, "where's Dr. Deaton?"
As soon as the question was asked, eyes turned to Lydia, who was looking bored at the whole situation. The Martin glanced around everyone, "what?"
Stiles motioned to the board, "aren't you gonna answer it?"
"Oh, I don't know the answer. I thought we were asking some sort of spirit."
"Well, do you know any spirits?"
The strawberry blonde narrowed her eyes at the Hale before turning to Odessa, who looked like she regretted agreeing to the whole Ouija Board plan, "is she for real?"
Seeing as the Ouija Board was a failure, they moved on to their next plan.
"Okay, these are Deaton's keys for the Clinic," Stiles held up the set of keys, "close your eyes, and I'm gonna put them in your hand," he told Lydia, "and then we're just gonna try and see if you can feel out for his location. It's called Psychometry."
Lydia pointedly spoke, "I'm not a Psychic."
"You're something! Okay," the boy spazzed, getting fed up with her nonchalant attitude, "just, Lydia, put out your hand, and," seeing her hand placed out for him, he slowly dropped the keys into her hand.
"Hmm."
"What?"
"They're cold," Lydia answered, fiddling with the keys.
Odessa was sure she saw Stiles' eye twitch from next to her, "Lydia, concentrate, please," he stressed, "trying to save lives here, for the love of God."
The Martin closed her eyes and started to fiddle with the keys some more. The three other teens leaned closer to the girl, waiting for something to happen.
"Yeah, what is it," Stiles muttered, watching her furrowed her brows, "what do you see?"
"Nothing."
Odessa and Stiles had one more thing for Lydia to try.
"Automatic writing," the strawberry blonde stared at the pencil in front of her, before grabbing it and started writing, or drawing in her case.
After a few moments, the paper was filled with a drawing, something that didn't make sense.
"Lydia, what are you doing," Stiles asked incredulously, "what—what the hell is that?"
"A tree."
"A tr—Lydia, you're supposed to be writing words, like in sentences, something like a location, something that would tell us where he is."
"Well, maybe you should've said that."
Cora looked between the blonde and the boy, "isn't she supposed to be some kind of genius?"
"Genius? Yes," Lydia answered for herself, still letting herself draw, "Psychic, no. Honestly, I don't know why you're even bothering with me anyway. I mean, especially since it's obvious you should be talking to Danny."
Odessa stood up straighter, "why Danny, Lyds?"
"Because," the four looked to the doorway to see Scott holding his shoulder, "Odie was right. Last night, he was a target. But it wasn't a sacrifice."

As it turned out, Danny was doing a project for Mr. Harris'a class on Telluric Currents. Odessa didn't have a clue on what those were, but she had a theory on how the Darach got a hold of his assignment. She, Stiles, Lydia, Scott and Cora met at the Clinic to come up with the final plan to save Deaton before it was too late.
"Okay, so, what does this kid's homework have to do with finding Deaton," Cora asked as they all rummaged through different pages of the report.
"Because it's not just homework, okay? It's a project on Geomagnetic Fields," Stiles informed, "they flow through the Earth. They can even be affected by Lunar Phases, all right? Now, look at this," the boy flipped to another page, "this is a note from Harris on Danny's proposal."
"'I strongly advise you to choose another subject. The ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudo-science. Not suitable for class.'"
Odessa nodded along to Lydia's reading, "that's how the Darach found out about Danny's research. They were keeping a close eye on Harris and stumbled upon it. Which means that Harris wasn't just a sacrifice. He knew something, and Danny just so happened to do research about it."
Stiles brought out a folded paper that came with the research paper, "Allison's dad wasn't the only one with a map, all right? Danny had one too," once completely unfolded, the boy spread the map out along the table, "Danny marked all the Telluric Currents, okay? Now, the weird thing about Beacon Hills is that it actually is a Beacon. You wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the Earth is around this town."
"Stiles," Scott called, "look, they match," he motioned to the other map they had, "all right, there's three places, right? Where they're kidnapped, and then the mace where their body was found."
The strawberry blonde pointed to the third place that overlapped, "look, that's right on the Telluric Current."
"So, maybe where he was sacrificed is somewhere in between."
"Let me see that," Stiles took the pen from his best friend and started circling different areas connecting the deaths so far, "you said there's six more bodies to be found. Deaton's one of them. Got to be somewhere in between, right?"
"Stop," the teens watched Odessa stop his pen clad hand, her eyes focusing on a location where the currents meet. She guided the boy's hand to stop at the location, "he's in the vault," the blonde locked eyes with Cora's.
The Hale stiffened, eyes hardening, "he's in the same vault."
Beacon Hills First National Bank.

The drive to Derek's loft couldn't have been fast enough. Cora had received a message from Boyd saying their plan to defeat the Alpha's failed. While Odessa, Stiles, Lydia and Cora sped to the loft, Scott traveled to the bank on his own to save his boss.
The three made it to the loft and ran to the power panels, seeing they were all shut down. Once the panels were all turned back on, they all ran to the loft. Not expecting what they found.
While Odessa stayed at the front with Lydia, Stiles and Cora ran down to Derek who was kneeling in the water, and Boyd who was laying down, not moving. The Stone inhaled sharply as she met Stiles' hazel eyes as he shook his head at her, signaling the worst. The loft was quiet, only the sound of water moving and Cora's cries could be heard. While watching Stiles place a comforting hand on Derek's shoulder, the blonde couldn't help but feel a sense of remorse. Boyd had been through a lot, she couldn't even imagine what he went through before she came to town.
Odessa was dropped off by Stiles, who was basically her designated driver at this point. The McCall residence was silent as she walked through the door. Scott was with Deaton, who he successfully saved, Isaac was still at the loft to help Derek and Melissa was still on shift. The Stone sluggishly removed her clothes, replacing them with a tank and shorts, and fell into her bed. She sighed in content as she sank into her covers. It didn't take long for her to fall into a deep sleep, only to be visited by a familiar face...
"Do you think we'll ever make it out of here, Odie?"
Odessa Stone was too tired to respond. The girl had just experienced yet another full Moon alone, and it was hell. Her whole body ached and pulsed uncomfortably, her eyes stinging with leftover tears and tiredness. After hours and hours of being locked in her room, Silas was finally able to come in and help, which wasn't much. By the time the boy was allowed in, Odessa had already begun to calm down, her breath ragged with sweat dripping down her chin. One full Moon after the next it was the same, and Silas was always there to help after. She didn't express her gratitude often for her friend, but she really appreciated him being there for her whenever she needed, and tried to do the same for him.
Eventually, the blonde let out a humorless chuckle, "didn't know leaving was an option, Si."
Even though she was looking forward, she could practically feel his eyes watching her as he spoke, "anything is an option, Odie, including leaving. And one day, I'm gonna get you out of here and you'll never look back. I promise."
And even though the blonde knew it was far-fetched and would probably never happen, she believed him.
