enough for you

━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━

THE RIFT was almost mocking her, teasing her as Odessa Stone reached her arm out for any kind of contact she may have with the boy coming into the light. But as soon as the rift appeared, it vanished.

Odessa froze in her stance, not believing her eyes. He was right there. Stiles was right there in front of her. And then he was gone, again. Everything around her grew silent. The only thing she could hear was the sound of her own breathing but even she didn't know if she actually was.

It was almost as if the blonde was having an out-of-body experience. She could feel her heart beating, her chest expanding with breath, her hands shaking at her sides. But she couldn't tell if any of it was actually happening or not.

Memory upon memory had to be dragged out from the depths of Odessa's mind so Stiles could be brought back. Brought back to her. But he was nowhere to be found. But she could feel him now. She knew it worked. It had to have worked.

"Odie?"

The Stone whipped her body around, seemingly coming out of her frozen state at the sound of her name being called from behind her. Her heart dropped at the sight of her three best friends, watching her warily, almost afraid anything they could say next would break her.

"Where is he," Odessa looked between her friends, her mind going a mile a minute, "it was working. You saw him, right?"

Malia shook her head sympathetically, "we didn't see anyone."

Looking back at the tunnel where the rift just was, the blonde denied, "no. He was here. I know it. Stiles was here."

Worried for their friend, Scott, Malia and Lydia all chipped in to guide Odessa back into the bunker. While the two girls helped the blonde move further into the room, Scott latched onto the door to shut it, but before he could, another hand caught it to keep it open.

"Liam," the McCall gasped, not expecting to see his Beta.

"There's something you need to see."

"You're still here."

"But everyone else is gone," Liam shared, causing all four older teens to widen their eyes in shock, "all of them. They're all gone. Look, you have to come with me."

Scott faltered, "what is it?"

"I-I can't explain it," the Dunbar stammered nervously, bouncing on his feet, "I have to show you."

Looking back at the girls, Scott instructed them, slightly flustered by the change in pace, "uh, all right. You guys stay here. Just in case."

"In case Stiles comes back," Malia asked in slight confusion, looking for any kind of confirmation as to what exactly they would be waiting on.

"If there's any hope, you need to keep trying," with one more glance at Odessa, who nodded only to show she heard him, Scott and Liam took their leave, but not before shutting the door to the bunker. Leaving the girls alone and to their own devices.

Odessa swore it wasn't even 30 seconds later when Malia pushed the door open. She had a feeling they weren't just going to sit around and wait. And she was glad that feeling was right.

"What are you doing?"

"We're gonna go find Stiles," the Tate declared, pausing at the doorway.

Lydia eyed her questionably, "Scott told us to stay here in case he shows up here."

"Stiles isn't coming here," Malia shook her head, eyes glancing between the two girls in front of her, "if he was, he would've, and he hasn't, so he's not," she looked toward Odessa pointedly, "you still think it worked, right?"

Odessa sighed, uncrossing her arms with a nod, "I know I saw him. Stiles is out there. I can feel it. And I don't want to sit on my ass in this bunker while he's out there running around causing trouble."

"Then what are we doing standing here?"

The smirk exchange between Malia and Odessa said it all, especially when all three girls left the bunker together without a second thought. They would find Stiles and somehow defeat the Wild Hunt. They had to. All of Beacon Hills depended on them. Once again.

━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━

Their first stop on their journey to find Stiles was the high school, seeing that that was where he was taken. Odessa tried not to think about the memory she recently regained of him quite literally slipping through her fingers and disappearing from her life. It still haunted her how she could forget him in all of 5 seconds.

When the girls got there, it wasn't a surprise to see an empty parking lot, seeing as it was pretty late at night and the rest of Beacon Hills was now gone. But what did puzzle them was a certain Jeep not being where it had been parked since its owner had been erased. Stiles' Jeep was missing from its spot.

Moving closer to the now empty parking space, Odessa kneeled down to the cement floor, grazing her fingers on the tire tracks engraved in the pavement, "this looks fresh. It's from Stiles' Jeep. It must have just left."

"Without his keys," Lydia quirked a brow as she looked down at her friend.

The blonde shrugged, standing up straight, "well, half the time he got it started with a screwdriver, so."

"Then he's here," Lydia nodded, stance shifting into a more firm one, "we have to tell Scott."

Malia placed a hand on the strawberry blonde's arm to stop her from moving any further, eyes on a specific area of the school in front of them, "we should probably tell Scott about that, too."

Following closely behind Malia's lead, the two other girls' eyes widened at what came into view, though it was tricky to see since it was so dark out. Right next to the Beacon Hills High School sign, and leading into the school, was a huge train track. They couldn't see where the final destination the tracks led to, but it was a no-brainer that the train was connected to the Wild Hunt.

Walking on the tracks, very cautiously, the girls followed it inside the school where they found a light coming from the library's closed doors. They swung the doors open and stopped short at the doorway at what they saw. The library was a train station. Odessa wished she could make that up but she knew her eyes weren't tricking her. No books, shelves, tables or computers. The library was not filled with benches, street lights and people. Odessa had never seen something so bizarre, and that was saying a lot.

"Why is there a train station in the middle of the library," Malia asked out loud what they were all thinking.

Lydia sighed, having a good idea as to what she was seeing, "there's also a train station in the Wild Hunt."

"Any chance they're connected," Odessa pulled her sweater sleeves over her palms, an automatic habit so didn't know the reason for.

"I would say high," the strawberry blonde started to walk forward through the library, prompting her friends to follow, "like 100%."

"If there's a train station, then there's probably a train."

Lydia appeared troubled, coming to her own realization, "and if there's a train... it's going to the Wild Hunt."

"They're all gonna be taken," the Stone spoke a matter of fact as she looked around at all of the people in the station. She was basically looking at what was left of the population of Beacon Hills, "they can't get on that train."

"Um," Malia glanced around the room in stress, tucking her hair behind her ears, projecting her voice so everyone could hear her clearly, "okay. Listen up, everybody. We've all got to get out of here. We gotta go right now. It's bad, we have to go!"

No matter how loud Malia yelled, not one person moved an inch, or made any indication they were even alive at all. Everyone was frozen solid in their seats. Odessa went up to a random person, waving her hand in front of their face, but they didn't even flinch. It was as if these people were in their own kind of trance. A trance making them accept their fate with the Wild Hunt.

The Ember exhaled heavily, dropping her head in frustration, "how do we get them to leave if they can't hear us?"

"Uh," Lydia trailed at the question, looking around for anything to help her answer, until something, or someone did, "maybe there's someone who can."

Going to where her eyes were locked on, Malia and Odessa both stopped short in shock at who was sitting on one of the benches. Peter Hale. He had been taken back to the Wild Hunt back when the Ghost Riders were sent to take out the pack in the tunnels by Mr. Douglas. Malia told the blonde he sacrificed himself so she and Scott could escape. It was the most selfless thing Odessa had ever heard Peter had done.

With a small, encouraging push on her back by Odessa, Malia went over to Peter, crouched in front of him, and screamed, "Peter!"

"Malia," Lydia trailed, eyes going to the blonde next to her who was thinking the same thing, "the only way we were able to break through the Hunt is with an emotional connection."

The Tate sighed in feigned sadness, "dang. Wish I could help," only receiving disapproving expressions, she argued, "I'm not saying it. I'm not saying it."

Odessa shrugged, pursing her lips, looping her arm with Lydia to turn their backs to their friend and walk away, "okay, well, I guess everyone dies."

Before they could take one step, a warning growl was heard, causing the two to turn around again, watch Malia look down at Peter and sigh, "dad. Dad. Dad."

"Say it like you mean it."

And even though she didn't want to, Malia knew it was what she had to do. Crouching down in front of the man again, she called to him softly, "dad. Please wake up. Dad."

And with that, slowly but surely, Peter snapped out of his trance and stood before his daughter, sending mountains of relief rolling through the three girls. Finally they were getting somewhere. And Odessa was getting more antsy by the second. Knowing Stiles was somewhere near her but the fact she couldn't see him was killing her. It made her want to abandon the station in the library and find him herself, but she would never leave her friends high and dry. She needed to see this through.

"Attention, all passengers," the distorted voice of Corey, (talk about a plot twist), came through the speakers suddenly, causing everyone who was once frozen to leave their seats and begin to walk to one of the library exits, "the train will be arriving in 12 minutes."

Unfazed by everyone moving, Peter quirked a brow at the three girls after they explained their plan to him, "me? You want me to stop them? You know how many there are?"

"Yeah. A lot of them," Malia reached for his arm to push him toward the people he needed to help, "so get going."

"There are hundreds of waiting rooms in this train station which apparently now also serves as a high school library," the Hale continued to sputter as the four began to walk with the group, "it's impossible."

"We can try."

"Where do you get this implausible optimism?"

"Definitely not from my father."

Lydia and Odessa made sure they were in between the estranged father and daughter as they walked, the former exclaiming, "we don't have time for this. We need someone to just hear us."

"I think they already did."

The group of people behind them took several steps back as a single Ghost Riders emerged from the shadows, whip and gun in each hand. Malia and Odessa instantly let their eyes glow and claws extend, ready to fight off the Rider as best they can, but Lydia pushed them behind her before they could pounce.

"Get behind me," the strawberry blonde instructed, keeping a close eye on the Rider in front of her, "they won't take a Banshee."

"You sure about that," Peter challenged, getting in front of the girls, dodging a sudden clash of the whip from the Rider. Peter extended his claws and sent a swipe to the Rider's stomach, which did nothing. Another swipe, not even a flinch. As the Hale continued to try and injure the Rider, the passengers snapped out of their trance and began to run out of the library in a frantic panic.

While Peter continued to try and fight off the Rider, Odessa, Lydia and Malia were facing their own fight on the other side of the library. Another Ghost Rider appeared on the steps above them and cracked his whip, prompting Malia to push her friends out of the way and earn a slash on her arm, causing her to groan in pain.

"Malia," Peter shouted, hearing her groans. He ran over to her and caught her before she could fall, passing her over to her friends. Now cornered by two Ghost Riders, the man struck the one who struck his daughter, kicking the Rider hard in the chest, knocking him off of his feet and onto the steps he once stood on.

The Rider got up quickly as the other started to walk toward the fight. Peter caught the arm of one Rider and sent him flying into the other, who quickly pushed him away from him, going straight to Peter. The Hale grabbed the Rider's arm, bringing him into a chokehold until the Rider used that to his advantage to swing Peter off of him, sending him to the ground. The second Ghost Rider picked Peter up by his shirt and slammed him into the wall by his neck, holding him there.

"Malia, go!"

The three girls started running toward the exit as Peter continued to try and fight off the Riders. While Odessa and Lydia didn't look back, Malia did. Seeing her dad getting picked up from the ground by the neck set her insides aflame, instantly shifting and running back to him to help him, leaving Odessa and Lydia alone.

The two girls continued to run until they were in a random dark hallway in the school. Putting her hands on her knees to catch her breath, Odessa started breathlessly, "okay. Let's split up. You go find Scott or literally anyone we know and I'll try to find Stiles. I'm tired of waiting."

Reluctantly, Lydia nodded, knowing finding Stiles was the blonde's number one priority, "be careful, Odie."

Giving her friend a nod of acknowledgment, Odessa watched her run down the hallway in the opposite direction of her, Lydia's heels clicking on the floor echoing through not only the halls, but her ears. And once that echo was gone, Odessa knew she was all alone.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, the Stone started jogging through the halls, trying to depict any scent related to Stiles. Now that she had her memories back, Odessa had his scent memorized like the back of her hand. Hearing gunshots sounding closer to her than she thought, Odessa picked up speed through the hallway she was in, finding the boy's locker room to be open.

And boy did she stumble upon something.

With as much strength as she could muster, Odessa shot her hands out, sending a powerful white beam right to the Ghost Rider that held a gun up to her boyfriend's head, and sent him slamming into the row of lockers. With each passing second, the Rider sunk so deep into the lockers, the metal bent underneath him.

Once he was down for the count, Odessa dropped her hands, panting as she ran into the room, a proud smile gracing her features, "take that, bitch."

"Odie?"

It was as if everyone paused around her. Like someone physically took a remote and clicked pause on the TV. Every cell in her body froze, but it wasn't out of fear. It was out of the complete shock that came from hearing her name come out of his mouth. It wasn't in her dreams of her memories she just reclaimed. He was there, right in front of her.

Stiles Stilinski was right in front of her.

Feeling tears well, Odessa turned away from the unconscious Ghost Rider on the floor to face the boy she so longed to see again. She almost didn't know what to do. She had been dreaming of this moment for so long and now she had no idea what to do. So, naturally, she said the first thing that came into her head

"Oh, my God, you're gonna hate me."

Not even the slightest bit fazed by her abrupt declaration, Stiles scoffed, moving toward her in an instant, "yeah, right."

Before Odessa could even begin to utter anything else, her cheeks were cupped and lips pressed onto hers, causing her to melt in his embrace. The blonde wrapped her arms around his neck to bring him closer as he moved his hands from her cheeks to her waist, wrapping his arms around her back to lift her off of her feet, their lips not pulling away once.

Everything she had wanted to feel, everything she was supposed to feel was with him. No amount of time or loss of memory could ever change that.

After being set back on her feet, Odessa pulled away from him very reluctantly, breathless against his lips, "no, really, you're gonna hate me after I tell you I slept with Silas."

Stiles shot his eyes open, but didn't leave their embrace he was currently frozen in, "you did... what?"

"Oh, shit, I said it."

"You are," the Stilinski trailed, his right eye twitching involuntarily every time Silas' name is mentioned, "you are going to explain and I'm going to listen when we're not currently in a Ghost Rider infested high school, you got me?"

"I got you," Odessa nodded fervently, glad she wasn't in the doghouse completely, but she wasn't holding her breath. If she was in his shoes without any context, she would be pretty pissed, too. But she got him back. He was currently in her arms, so she couldn't care less at that moment.

Now reunited, the couple knew the next thing on their list was to find their friends and stop the Wild Hunt once and for all. Hand in hand, the two left the locker room and unconscious Ghost Rider behind and made their way toward the exit at the fast pace. Before they could leave, a familiar voice echoed through the halls, stopping them in their tracks.

"Stiles? Stiles? Is that you?"

The boy squeezed his girlfriend's hand automatically, his gaze toward the empty hallway with furrowed brows, "mom?"

"Stiles," Odessa tugged on his hand, trying to get him to stop moving toward the voice, "that's not your mom."

Shaking his head, Stiles countered, "I know who it is. I know her voice."

"No, that's the Wild Hunt. They're tricking you," it seemed her words weren't getting through to him, causing her to plead, "lovie, please believe me. The Wild Hunt brought her back, but she's not real."

Stiles snapped out of his gaze down the hallway to his girlfriend, questioning, "what do you mean 'brought her back'?"

"Stiles," Claudia called again, now showing herself to them before Odessa had the chance to explain further, "I know what you've been through. I know how much you love your father," coming out from the shadows after a crack of thunder, Claudia turned into who she really was,  a product of the Hunt. With black eyes, sunken cheeks with scales around her body, voice distorted, "but I love him more. Even from the Hunt, you somehow worked your way back into his memory."

"Yeah, worming is one of my skills."

Odessa took the chance to squeeze his hand tightly, "that thing is conjured from your dad's pain. If he remembers you, he can't believe in her."

"That's why you have to go," before Claudia could get her hands on Stiles, Odessa leaped forward, planning to swipe her claws, only for Claudia to catch her by the neck, squeezing so tightly her eyes felt as if they could fall out any second. Stiles tried to get in between them, trying to disconnect the hand from his girlfriend's neck, only for his to be grabbed as well, "you shouldn't treat your mother that way."

"You're not my mother."

At the strained declaration, Claudia pushed Odessa away and pushed her son against the wall. The blonde clutched her neck in pain as it pulsed uncomfortably. As she reached for a wall to stabilize herself, she instead fell into another person's chest. Looking up, Odessa strangled a gasp at the haunted face of Silas Campbell, who looked down on her with a black eyed smirk.

"Oh, come on, babe," Silas grabbed her neck again, pulling her closer to him, "you didn't think you were done with me, did you?"

With his hand around her neck, Silas dragged Odessa to the wall where Stiles was being held by his mother. The couple tried to latch onto each other or even look at each other for one last time, but they physically couldn't. This was their end.

"He believes in me," Claudia taunted her son, feeling him choke against her grip, "dreams. So hard to kill."

"But not impossible," Sheriff Stilinski suddenly appeared, pistol in hand and aimed at the two demons holding his son and Odessa. The man shot two shots. One into Silas and the other into his wife, but either made a dent.

"Noah. Your bullets can't hurt us."

Lydia came out of the hallway where the Sheriff came from, coming up next to him, commanding, "fire again."

With a deep breath, the strawberry blonde projected a scream straight into Claudia and Silas with a bullet penetrating both of them, making them disappear into thin air.

Odessa leaned against the wall, clutching her burning throat with hearty coughs, hearing her boyfriend do the same next to her, "I can't believe I slept with that thing."

"Please don't remind me."

Suddenly, the ground began to shake beneath them, causing Lydia to latch onto Stilinski and Odessa to stumble into her boyfriend's arms. As the power in the hallway knocked out due to the impact, neighing horses sounded from outside, along with a high pitched whistle. It was happening. The Wild Hunt and the Ghost Riders were leaving Beacon Hills.

━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━

The town of Beacon Hills was completely filled with residence. The hospital was filled with workers and patients, the Sheriff's Station regained all staff members, Beacon Hills High School resumed classes with everyone in attendance. Everything was back to the way things were.

And best of all, Odessa Stone was no longer a senior in high school.

With the last day of school under her belt, the blonde had so much to look forward to. She decided she would be moving into an apartment in Virginia with Stiles during the summer for his pre-FBI program that started in the fall. Odessa planned to use her parent's fund to help with the rent, something she would always be grateful to have.

After coming home from the final battle with the Wild Hunt, the couple was exhausted, barely saying anything to each other before crashing onto his bed and falling asleep in each other's arms. But they made sure to have a talk before their last day of school, which was that next morning believe it or not.

Odessa explained everything that had to do with what went down while he was gone. How the Wild Hunt conjured Silas and altered her life by making her think he had been her boyfriend that entire time. How she never gave up on the idea of him and the dreams she would have with him.

To say Stiles was relieved to hear everything that happened between her and Silas was a fabric of her imagination due to the Hunt would be an understatement. He could never be mad at her for something she had no control over, especially since it didn't take her that long to figure out that he was real and how hard she fought for him to come back.

Damn, Stiles loved his girl.

Even though he was a bit bummed he missed out on the last three months of his senior year, he was looking forward to spending the summer with her in their apartment before he would be surrounded by the stress of school in the fall. But school was the last thing on his mind, especially since he was currently in the shower with his very beautiful girlfriend.

Water poured down on their naked bodies as their lips never ceased to part. Odessa inhaled through her nose, moaning at the just the mere feeling of him against his mouth and his hands ventured lower and lower down her body, his fingers squeezing her hips ever so slightly.

Not wanting to get too carried away, still pretty drained from the last 48 hours, Odessa slowly pulled her lips off of his, chuckling under her breath when hearing him groan from the loss of contact. Running her fingers down his damp, flushed cheeks, she whispered, "don't ever leave me again."

"Wouldn't dream of it."

The couple took their time with getting out of the shower, wrapping towels around each other like they usually did. While Stiles left the bathroom before her, Odessa took her time doing her skincare routine, calling out to him since he was already in her bedroom, "baby? Can you pick out a change of clothes for me?"

"Yup," Stiles simply responded back with the same volume so she would hear him. After quickly putting on a spare shirt and sweatpants from his own personal drawer in her room, he went over to her dresser, opening the first drawer without thinking much of it. He sometimes couldn't remember what clothes were in which drawer.

Seeing as he opened her jean drawer, Stiles was about to close it, but paused his action when something caught his eye. Furrowing his brow, enough to create a small crease in his skin, he reached into the drawer and took out what looked like a folded piece of paper.

Warily, Stiles unraveled the fold of the paper and read the first line, making his heart sink to his stomach.

To you,

He stopped his eyes from moving any further down the paper, not wanting to invade her personal property, but his curiosity got the better of him.

To you,
I don't know who you are. I don't know what to call you. To me, you're the hazel eyed boy who makes me want to fall asleep just so I can see you for a moment or two. To me, you might be Stiles. The missing link in our lives we're so desperately trying to bring back. You might be a son, a friend, a student. But to me... you are everything. You make me feel loved, seen.

I'm probably writing nonsense and I hope no one finds this and reads this because it would be my one way ticket to Eichen House. But I feel more connected to you than I ever have with anyone. If you are Stiles, we will find a way to get you back. No matter what, I promise you that. If you are my hazel eyed boy... I think I love you just as much as you love me. I've never seen you say it to me in my dreams yet... but I feel it. I feel it every time. And if Stiles and hazel eyed boy are the same... I can't wait to find you and love you until I physically can't anymore.

Whoever and wherever you are, be strong, be brave. I will never, ever give up on you. I promise.

To you, with love,
your Odie.

Stiles didn't even realize he was crying until a tear fell onto the paper, creating a small watery stain on the side of it, thankfully not landing on the writing. As if he couldn't love her any more than he already did. As much as he scolded himself for reading it when it was clearly something she hid so no one would ever find it, he was glad he did. It only solidified his feelings for her more, solidified what he desired in the future. A future with her.

Hearing the sink shut off, Stiles hurriedly tucked the note back in between her pairs of jeans and the wall of the drawer and shut it before she could see. Quickly grabbing a tank and shorts for her after a small rummage through her drawers, he turned around to face her with the clothes just in time for Odessa to come out of the bathroom, a towel still wrapped around her body.

Odessa approached him with a smile, one hand holding the towel in place while the other reached to grab the clothes from him, "thanks, lovie," she pecked his lips for an added bonus before going over to her bed to change, not thinking anything of his eyes following her every move.

"I love you."

The Stone turned around just as she finished getting dressed. Adjusting her tank top, she smiled once again at him, not being able to contain her happiness of him being back, "I love you, too."

"No, I mean, like," Stiles sighed as he tried to come up with how to tell her how he really felt, "I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

The bright smile quickly fell into a straight line of shock. No one had ever said something like that to her in her life. The rest of his life was a big deal. He was basically saying forever. Was Odessa ready for forever with him? At least, right now, she definitely was. No question.

Walking toward him, Odessa wrapped her arms around his neck, bringing him closer to her while she absentmindedly caressed the nape of his neck, "well, then it looks like you're stuck with me. Is that enough for you?"

"You'll always be enough for me."

After everything Odessa Stone and Stiles Stilinski had been through, whether it was the Darach, the Alpha pack, the dead pool, the Dread Doctors, the Beast or the Wild Hunt, they fought and made it out together. They would always have each other no matter what came their way.

And as their lips connected once more, embrace filled with happiness and love, they knew it would always be enough.

They would always be enough.
