I Told The Wind My Secrets

I told the wind my secrets & the wind told the trees.

I hear the bees buzzing all the way from my balcony.

Some people are like leaves; dangling from the branches of an old tree,

some just wilt & wither away,

Others get blown off by the wind, who likes to play.

And then, there are those who promise to stay, but turn gray the very next day.

I told the wind my secrets & the wind told the trees.

The birds came to serenade me, putting my anxious heart at ease.

The wind is quick to come, but even quicker to leave.

They were secrets neither the wind, nor I were able to keep,

so I began to tell the moon, and the moon told the stars,

They told me to sparkle even when times were hard.

I was no longer a leaf dangling from a branch helplessly,

I became a star that shone endlessly.

I told the wind my secrets & the wind told the trees,

the trees told the bees & the bees told the birds,

That never told me.

The birds flew up high in the sky, and told the moon that,

told the stars, it was a chain reaction that began with me & will end at the very last part.

I was always a star, but the wind knew if it told me, I wouldn't listen,

so the wind found a way to let me hear it from the stars that glistened.
