another discord thing i wrote

Out of the seven people that lounged in the living room, three voices screamed; two of them belonged to girls and one of them belonged to a boy.

"GUYS?! I CAN'T SEE!" Sketcher yelped, frantically trying to grip at nothing. "OR HEAR! THE RAIN IS TOO HEAVY!"

"GAH!" JJ yelped from the stairs as she regained her footing.

A flash of lightning briefly lit up the living room, silencing Sketcher. She caught a glimpse of AJ bumping into one of the amps before it went dark again.

No one spoke up for a moment.

"Uh, guys?" a small, half-asleep voice came from behind Sketcher. She couldn't see who spoke, but it sure sounded like Hikari. "Did the power just cut off?"

A flashlight was switched on, lighting up the entire room once again. Sketcher's hunch was confirmed--it was indeed Hikari. She was standing in the entrance to the living room, sleepily rubbing her eyes and clutching a blanket draped over her shoulders, the blanket serving as a cloak. "I just opened the door to let Mr. G in when everything just shut off."

"The cat was meowing like crazy," another voice said as Disney stepped into the light. "It was so cute though so I stepped out to try and pet her cat." She gestured to Hikari at the mention of her cat.

"Same here," Cath suddenly said behind Disney, causing her to flinch.

"Also same," Jello raised her hand, lying against the pile of pillows Jackie and Echo had thrown at each other in a corner.

"Jeez, guys. You really love Mr. G that much, do you?" Hikari laughed, moving towards the couch and plopping herself on it.

"Well, I dared Socorro to put a picture of a shirtless James as her desktop background," Esmeralda piped up, pointing her thumb at the girl beside her.

"Well, I dared Esmeralda to put a picture of a shirtless Mark as her desktop background," Socorro mimicked her friend, tone of voice and bodily gesture and all. "Then the power shut off so I'm safe for a while." She snickered at Esmeralda who was begrudgingly muttering a string of curses under her breath.

"Lou and I were making coffee," Chantelle spoke up from the kitchen, jokingly glaring daggers at Hikari. "Until a certain someone nabbed all the white coffee sachets and drank them in one sitting!"

"Hey, it wasn't me!" Hikari yelped.

"I know, I know," Lou chuckled. "Come on AJ, we're dragging you to the dangerous ward."

"Oh, hell no!" AJ groaned. "Coffee is ew!"

"Excuse me, sir AJ?"  Hikari towered over the fourteen year old, speaking in a low tone.

"Okay, okay," Jackie called out from under the pile of pillows. "I know we're scared of the dark and all, but why don't we gather in a circle and just have power interruption fun?"

Hikari suddenly forgot all about AJ's disgust for coffee and instantly launched herself at the couch, narrowly missing Esmeralda's head. "Yes! Yes! Someone get candles and a lighter!"

"We already have a flashlight," AJ put in.

"Even better! I'm gonna grab a guitar real quick." She crawled up the back rest of the couch and hopped down, running towards the music room and nearly tripping over the marmalade cat that was starting to walk to the source of light.

"Uh, what do we do?" Sketcher asked, hugging a pillow to her chest.

"Play truth or dare?" Cath put in.

Jello raised a hand. "Umm, eat cookies?"

"Scream?" Lou and Chantelle said simultaneously.

"Breathe? That's the most obvious thing to do," Jackie said. "Or die. Whatever counts."

"I know! I know!" Echo yelped excitedly. "Let's have a competition of who cracks the best puns!"

"No, Echo!" AJ countered. "Everyone knows you'll win."

"They kiLlLLlEd mY WiFe anD ma bAAaByY~!"  Hikari fake-wailed as she entered the living room playing her electric guitar. She noticed everyone staring at her. "What?"

AJ scooted over, leaving a space for the child. Hikari gladly plopped herself down on the spot.

The group of thirteen listened to the rain pound against the walls in big, fat drops as they thought of what they could possibly do to entertain themselves. Socorro and Esmeralda were staring each other down, trying to keep down the giggles that were about to burst from their mouths. Chantelle and Lou drank their (thankfully still available) coffee in silence. Cath stared into space, her mind bouncing back and forth between thoughts that came up randomly in her brain. Sketcher and Jello were hitting each other with the couch pillows. Jackie and Echo were huddled together, giggling obnoxiously and whispering to each other while pointing in Hikari and AJ's direction.

"Echo, Echo!" Jackie whispered, struggling to force her excited giggling down her throat. "Did you see how awkward they look when they're next to each other?!"

"I knowwwwww!" Echo replied, snorting as she pulled Jackie closer. "I know what we're gonna do!"

Jackie stifled a scream as she watched the two sing a song from one of their favorite bands, everyone keeping their eyes on them.

"Are you seriously singing the guitar solo?!" Hikari asked incredulously as she struggled to keep up. AJ simply shrugged.

"Okay, truth or dare, everybody!" Echo yelled suddenly. "Even though it's the most common, and not to mention mainstream, game to play!"

"Noooooooooooo!" Esmeralda shouted in mock despair.

"Boring! I wanna use my guitar!" Hikari whined.

"Me too!" Esmeralda had gotten up and walked over to the nearby stand that held her own electric guitar. "You play lead guitar, alright, man?"

"What?" Incredulity laced Hikari's tone. "No, you play! I can't shred!"

"Neither can I!"

Now it was Hikari's turn to stare the teenager down. The two locked eyes for a long time before the former finally spoke up. "Fine, let's settle this."

"Ooooooooooh!" Echo excitedly slammed her fists down on her pillow. "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

"Metalheads fighting! I can sell this!" AJ had grabbed his phone, the camera application already opened up.

"Wait--wait, there must be some other way!" Esmeralda squeaked.

"No backing out! AJ made a Gravity Falls reference." Hikari gestured to the boy holding up his camera. "And Echo did, too!" she continued, turning to look at the aforementioned girl still chanting "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

"Alright. . .if you say so." Esmeralda straightened up her posture and looked Hikari dead in the eyes. "Bring it on."

"WOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Echo and Jackie cheered loudly. "SOMEONE MAKE THE POPCORN!"

"I volunteer as tribute!" Cath raised her hand, jumping to the side to avoid being trampled over by the two girls chasing each other down to the kitchen. "Uh. . .actually, never mind."

"Do it," Echo ordered in a low, menancing tone, which caused Cath to get up and run after them.
