enlighten me// frerard

GOSSIP SPREADS LIKE WILDFIRE. I should know that well by now, but it still felt like a brick to the face when I saw my own face in the school newspaper. It's just typical high school drama, I had told myself. Nope, not even close. We were the talk of the entire school, Power Couple Breaks Up, what will happen to Frerard? Humiliating.

Although it was a serious breech of privacy, on my part at least, I understood why that was newsworthy. Frank and I had been dating since forever practically, from kindergarten to high school. We were nothing short of the cheesy couple that everyone shipped to some degree. It was kind of our thing, in kindergarten he asked me to marry him, in first he asked me to dance in the rain, in second he was my first kiss under the jungle gym. He was the one who walked me to class every day and then sprinted to the other side of the campus to get to his own in middle school and made everyone get off the swings in elementary so we could swing together. Cute, right?

It was supposed to be the same in high school. He was supposed to save me a seat at his table and hug me when I run to the bathroom when I started panicking over a test, but he didn't. I didn't seem to care apparently, I was still under his illusion of romance.

It was exactly a week and two days after school started, September 7th, when we broke up. After the weekend rolled around the Monday issue of the newspaper had my face on it, Gerard way breaks up with long time boyfriend Frank, Student Body concerned for his health. I doubt they understood back then.

"Hey baby, how'd the test go?" Frank asked me. I raised an eyebrow at him. "We didn't have a test, Frank. It's the beginning of the year." He just laughed and turned to his friends, abandoning the conversation. I frowned at him, but he didn't notice. I sighed at his idiocy, and turned back to my own food. Megan M., the schools resident home wrecker and worst test taker had sauntered up to Frank and grabbed his arm, all giggly and playful. She did that a lot. Frank had a brownie in his mouth already and she was on her way to giving him another. "Megan, don't give my boyfriend drugs." I had said through gritted teeth. She just laughed at me and pushed my food off the table.

"Frank, do something!" I hissed. He just turned around and giggled. "Why's your food on the floor, Gee?" Megan made some idiotic comment after that, which made Frank laugh. "Frank, honey, let's get out of here, okay? Gerard's being a b*tch." Frank giggled and walked away with her. He was too high to care about me, anyway.

That night I called his mom and told her what happened, just so she could help Frank learn to not take drugs. He called me after, incredibly angry, and broke up with me. I'm just the fat, annoying loser after all.

But after returning from my two years abroad with Mikey, let's see who's the loser after all.
