"You may forget but let me tell you this:
someone in some future time will think of us."

-Sappho

There are countless people I wish to thank. Even though I was so incredibly nervous for this project, and then refused to show anything until it was finished, a few people kept supporting me.

JoniAusten, you were one of the first people who knew what this story was going to be about. You asked who Turing was, and I couldn't answer, because words can never encompass what he means to me. Hopefully, through this book, it has become somewhat clear.

Waterbender_poet and VehementsxYourDisneyPrincess and PeculiarButterfly, and actually all the people at WattpadNL, the enthusiasm you exuded quelled my fears about publishing this book. Thank you for laughing at my wretched jokes. Whenever I silently blinked away a tear, you were always there.

Didi, I know this mathematician also means a lot to you. So I hope this – as you put it so nicely yourself – gay icon was able to convey the other well. And no worries, you still remain my favourite mathematician.

I would also like to thank Annemie and Stijn, who – hopefully – will never read this. These two maths teachers introduced me to code theory. Annemie was one of the few who then even mentioned anything about Alan during her lessons, something that is not the case in many high schools. Despite a lot of swearing, an overheated computer and cluttered French words, I developed a love for cryptography thanks to Stijn.

Of course, I would also like to thank Andrew Hodges, this mathematician is the author of the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma. I myself tried to make the story as truthful as possible, which would not have been possible without this book.

Finally,thank you Alan.
