Finally, Z had managed to find messages between Yunmi and Yejun on the night of Yejun's
death to find anything suspicious against her. While looking, they had also found a proper date and time of the boy's death: March 20th, 2024 at around 4:30 in the morning.

Surprisingly, this evidence pointed all the way to Yunmi.

Z almost gasped aloud. "This was when he was hiding from someone..." They scanned the messages again. "Could he have been hiding from both Gyuvin and Yunmi?"

They took out a screenshot they got from that night and almost felt sick after reading it side by side Yunmi's drunk messages to Yejun. "Oh my God, could it have been the both of them?"

Z now had something against Yunmi, and was ready to use it against her very, very soon. Yunmi was definitely not innocent.

"Interview Three: Shen Quanrui." Hao spoke into the phone before sitting comfortably and looking at Ricky, who looked extremely nervous. But, who wouldn't be when they're getting investigated for?

"Okay, what exactly was your relationship like with Yejun? Go from the beginning until when you weren't friends and the day of his death" Hao said to the boy.

"We weren't close." Ricky shrugged. "I'm the least useful person to talk about Yejun. I really didn't like him and we were never properly friends during his time in our friend group.

"Why did you dislike him?"

"He's not wealthy,you know that right?" He scoffed. "His step mother is a lawyer, and that's Jiwoong mother am I right? That's the only reason that he was rich enough to even come to our schools."

"You hate him... because he isn't rich?" Hao almost scoffed in disbelief but kept his voice clear for the recording.

"I mean if you put it that way it makes me seem like a dickhead." He chuckled. "I just didn't like his vibe, he was clearly putting on an act and was only trying to be friends with us because he had a thing for Yunmi."

"Did he ever act weird towards you when Yunmi wasn't around?"

The boy nodded enthusiastically. "Oh my God, all of the time. He thought I was into Yunmi for a while." He scoffed at the thought of it. "Wasn't even true, but he decided that it'd be funny to treat me as if I wanted Yunmi so bad and be rude to me because I was close with her."

"Did you ever have a relationship?" It seems like all of your friends were in love besides you." Hao asked and Ricky felt personally attacked by the question.

"I was talking to one of Yunmi's friends for a while - Youngeun." He shrugged. "During that time I realised that I'm not a relationship person. Obviously, Gunwook's got his girlfriennd, Yejun and Yunmi were together, Gyuvin liked Yunmi, but I'm not interested in that stuff."

"Did you ever think of Yunmi in any other way?" Hao then changed his tone as he sounded more curious and focused. "There's no way that Yejun would hate you for no reason. And it's clear he has jealousy issues."

"I thought this was about my relationship with Yejun." Ricky raised a brow. Hao gave him the stern eyes to respond to his question and he scoffed. "No, I never did. Yejun was just crazy and hated the idea of Yunmi having other male friends."

"Did he have anything against you?" Hao asked. "It's said that he always had things against people, so I assume he had something against you right?"

Ricky rolled his eyes. "He failed to dig anything up about me so he made some stupid excuse. I didn't have anything secret that Yejun could've got from me."

"Why was he so keen on you and Yunmi then?" Hao was clearly not giving this part of the interview up and he looked Ricky in the eyes. "There must be something."

Ricky glared at Hao. "Why are you still bringing this up?"

"I'm asking you questions, answer them." Hao shrugged and tapped his pen on the paper. "We don't have all day."

"Okay fine." He rubbed his eyes in frustration. "In all honesty I never liked Yunmi. But her parents were keen on us two being together in the future, and only Yejun knew about that because he was obviously dating her."

Hao raised a brow. "So was that what he had against you?"

"Yunmi's parents didn't like Yejun. Sure, their parents were close, but they didn't want their perfect daughter dating some guy like him. They always made it clear that they wanted someone like me to marry her in the future. For business, obviously, but we both refused at the time they talked about it because of Gyuvin."

Hao nodded, finally understanding. "So he hated you because Yunmi's parents didn't like him, but liked you. And since Gyuvin is obviously the one who likes her, Yejun would make something up that you were into her?"

Ricky smiled at the older. "Exactly! You're the only one who understands that. He fully believed I was into her and would try threaten to tell Gunwook and Gyuvin that I liked her to ruin our friendship."

Hao nodded again, finalising the topic. "Okay, so even though since you and Yejun weren't close, you lived together in the summer house right?" He changed the subject in hope for some more details on Ricky.

Ricky nodded, making Hao smile in interest. "Anything that happened over there?" Hao questioned. "Things that happened in the summer house. I know it caused your group to break apart but, anything with you and Yejun specifically?"

Ricky hummed. "Oh yeah actually," He looked at Hao. "He forced me to stop being Yunmi's roommate in the house because we 'ruined the house.' according to him."

"How?" Hao raised a brow and Ricky sighed and looked down, which was not a good sign to Hao.

"Gunwook threw a birthday party for Yejun at our house one night, and Yunmi and I decided to do something whilst high and we kind of destroyed the house. The others didn't know what we did to the house since they'd view me and Yunmi as some sick monsters."

"Did Yejun find out?"

"Apparently. Yunmi didn't even know anyone knew until Yejun told Yunmi about it and she contacted me in anger. Which is, by the way, the main reason she fucking hates me." Ricky rolled his eyes at the thought of it.

"She hates you because you two did something bad to the house one night and her boyfriend found out?"

"Pretty much." He shrugged. "That's all that I have the energy to tell you" He pointed at the phone and Hao stopped the recording. "I don't want to speak about that mistake anymore."

"What are you referring to?" Hao looked at him curiously. "What's the mistake?"

"The thing me and Yunmi did to the house." He gulped. "Anyway, I'm leaving." He stood up and walked out in a hurry. "Thanks and bye."

Z gulped after reading the messages. They didn't actually know what Ricky and Yunmi did, but they're clearly failing to find out from Ricky and other sources.

However they had just found out another key clue to the case - Ricky was definitely in contact with Yejun that night. They had already guessed that the boy had seen Yejun that night, but the proof made this easier to point the blame on him too.
