CHAPTER THREE : new house

- PARK GUNWOOK

"Yunmi please come out." Ricky groaned from the other side of the door. Yunmi was locked in the bathroom, crying her eyes out just after seeing the sight of the place where he was found dead.

The four had arrived only two hours ago, but it was clear that the atmosphere was perturbing and anxiety ridden. It was as if the whole school was dead, even if this place was known to be very prestigious too.

Yunmi had caught a glance of tape and plastic bags in a corner of the building, and she had realised that that was where he was found, sending her into distress and then leaving to hide in the bathroom.

"Give me a minute." She shouted - however she had just said this to them an hour ago. It sounded like she wasn't going to leave anytime soon; the thought of actually being in the place where Yejun was found dead made her feel sick.

She doesn't know why they were forced to even come here in the first place. They're just four annoying students who might have made Yejun mad in the past, so there was no way any of them could have killed him. It was inevitable for all of them to get eventually sick of each other.

What hurt Yunmi the most was the fact she had to stay with Gunwook, Gyuvin and Ricky. They weren't friends at all and haven't been friends since a year ago. Even though they all go to the same school, they seemed invisible to each other.

Plus, being forced to live with them was also hell; the whole reason the five had fallen out was solely because of the fact that living together in the past was too much and difficult.

"Yunmi please, we have to get things done as soon as we can." Gunwook sighed. "You don't have to come with us if you don't want to. But for crying out loud please come out."

"She's so dramatic." Gyuvin sighed from the ruckus she had caused this early in the morning. "It's not like you can see his bloody body anyway." He shouted, intending for the girl to hear him.

Gunwook glared at the older. "Gyuvin, that's her dead boyfriend." His voice cracked after having to remind himself. "And our dead bestfriend."

"Ex bestfriend." Gyuvin scoffed. "We came all this way just for Yunmi to be a fucking crybaby. this was a shitty idea."

Gunwook furrowed his brows. "what the fuck has gotten into you? The boy is DEAD. You have to remind us to annoy but why the fuck do I need to remind you to gain some fucking sympathy?" He whisper-shouted before looking around.

"He's not." Gyuvin scoffed, not caring about the fact people were around. "He was just pissy about him and Yunmi arguing so he wanted to do something for her attention. It's what he always does."

"This is a murder case, Gyuvin." Gunwook said sternly. "If you're not that bothered then fucking leave. I'm trying my best to be respectful to everyone and you're making me lose my patience."

Gyuvin pulled a vape out of his pocket. "Not my problem. You're all just sensitive over some guy who ruined our life."

"Just because he ruined ours doesn't mean we didn't ruin his. Who knows who could've killed him." Gunwook clicked his tongue. "And by now, it looks like you had something to do with-"

"Well i'm not surprised someone did kill him. who the fuck would want that cunt still alive?" The older boy chuckled before ruffling his hair. "He manipulated Yunmi into thinking that he loved her."

Ricky stayed silent on the side, playing with his necklace whilst staring at the floor. After listening to the other two's irritating conversation, his eyebrows furrowed "Gyuvin," Ricky called, his voice deep.

Gyuvin turned his head towards the other. "What? Do you agree with what I said?"

Ricky shook his head and looked at him with burning eyes. "Why are you so unsympathetic?" He asked as he began to walk closer to Gyuvin, clearly in irritation.

Ricky and Gyuvin had an awful past, and this was probably one of their first times talking properly ever since. Ricky was usually silent about things that annoyed him, but clearly he had to speak up after hearing Gyuvin's words on the situation.

Gyuvin shrugged. "Why shouldn't i? He ruined my life, then ruined his own." He acted so careless that Gunwook and Ricky looked at each other in horror from his words.

Ricky's head cocked to the side. "This really puts you in a bad place as a suspect." He crossed his arms and pushed past gyuvin. "You're weird. If you still like yunmi then acting like this about Yejun won't make her like you."

Gunwook nodded behind Ricky. "You've changed. A lot. I don't understand why you're ten times worse than you were twelve fucking months ago." He fake smiled and walked past him too.

Gyuvin snorted at gunwook whilst watching him walk towards the bathroom door where Yunmi was. "There's no way they think I would go so far and do that."

"Yunmi please come out," Gunwook called softly. "I know you're hurting but we at least need to stay together for this." He knocked a few times, and kept knocking and repeating these words until his knuckles were red from the pain.

He sighed and Ricky walked towards the door. "If you come out, we'll try get Gyuvin away from you as much as you want." Gunwook looked at Ricky with a raised brow, giving him a 'this isn't going to work' look.

But surprisingly, the two heard that the crying came to a stop and that the door lock clicked open. Yunmi finally came out and didn't even dare to look at Gyuvin. She fell right into Gunwook's arms and embraced him tightly whilst still sobbing. "Sorry."

He stiffened in surprise and looked at Ricky again, who just smiled at the fact that what he said worked. At least they both know that Gyuvin was most definitely the problem here.

Gunwook was still in surprise from the sudden hug. He knew that they both needed it, so he hugged her back. "It's okay, I understand you." Gunwook patted the back of her head. "I know it's hard. He was my bestfriend too."

"Okay i think it's time to go to our new house." Ricky cleared his throat. "Sorry to ruin the bestie reunion but like, we have to go." He cocked his head to the side, indicating that the staff were waiting.

Gyuvin watched quietly from the side and scoffed before following the staff out of the school. It was finally the time that all four of them dreaded; going to their new shared house.

"They decided to give us four bedrooms, but had three of them locked???" Gyuvin looked down at the staff. "What kind of surprise is that?" He scanned the house in disgust. "Who came up with this shitty rule?"

It looked like any other rich person mansion; extremely huge, washed with white and silver paint and little furniture that somehow made no sense in certain areas. It was three stories tall including a basement and dozens of amenities that they probably didn't need.

The man nodded. "It was requested by your father, Gyuvin. He wanted that you all stay stuck together until you all become friends again and get the reward of your own rooms." The four gave each other weird looks as the man began to walk towards one certain bedroom.. "It's huge, all bedrooms are this size. and since there's four of you, there's still four beds."

They scanned the layout of the room and noticed that the room was split into two. The back left corner had two single beds on either side of a bed side table and the back right corner had a double bed. "Uhm, didn't you say there was four beds?" Yunmi asked the man who replied with a chuckle. "I lied." He crossed his arms and turned to face the students. "Either two of you sleep in the same bed or leave the other on the sofa."

They all sick at the thought of sharing a bed with one of them again but decided not to complain when the staff was there. But they also hated the fact of sleeping on a sofa when in a mansion. So either way, there was no winning what they wanted.

Yunmi tilted her head. "Okay well since it's split into two for the beds, I want the back left corner." She said, since she obviously wanted her own bed to stay away from them.

"I'll take it too." Gyuvin said from the side, walking towards the same spot where Yunmi was. The girl frowned and looked the others. "Um, i don't want to be on the same side as you."

Gyuvin snorted. "Don't be ridiculous, we're separated. unless you want to sleep on the same bed over there?" He tilted his head towards the other bed.

She avoided eye contact and sighed. "I'll take the double bed..."

Gyuvin raised a brow and looked up at the others. "Suit yourself. Who's staying on my side then?" He faked a smile and began to tap his feet noticing how literally no one wanted to sleep on that side. "So??? You want to sleep on the sofa or what?"

"I know you want to argue or whatever but you are staying in this room to sleep and will have to decide who you're sleeping with by tonight." The man sighed before he slammed the door and was out of their sight.

"Well I'm sorry but if you refuse to sleep in this room you're a full blown pussy." Gyuvin chuckled to himself as he sat himself down on the bed. "Someone is with yunmi, someone is with me."

It was obvious neither ricky or gunwook wanted to be with yunmi or gyuvin. But after earlier and because of the fact Ricky denied to be in the same room as Yunmi at all, he decided to choose Gyuvin. Even as much as he hated him, he would get too much trauma from the last time him and Yunmi shared a room.

"Um actually..." Yunmi spoke before Ricky could say anything. "I think it's better if gunwook and I are on the same side of the room together.." She awkwardly looked over at Gunwook in hope.

Gunwook sent her a smile and then looked over at Ricky as he glared at Gyuvin every chance he got. As he placed his bag down, Yunmi tapped him on the shoulder. "Don't you think Gyuvin is acting really weird?" She whispered. "And so is Ricky, they're both really really odd today."

Gunwook nodded. "Ricky called him out on his weird behaviour though, but he's being the exact same. Just except not a dick head about Yejun."

She nodded before deciding to open up. "I saw Gyuvin the night of Yejun's death and he was also acting really, really weird towards me as I think about it more. But he still considered Yejun a friend at that point."

"You saw him that night?" Gunwook whispered in shock before quickly turning around to make sure neither of them could hear the two's conversation.

"I don't remember much but I do remember that we were together at my mothers event." She sighed. "We were drinking but he got a text from Yejun then i passed out. " Yunmi scratched her head in frustration. "I wish I could remember more, but I can't remember anything after that."

Gunwook scoffed. "I don't want to be a bitch but I really think gyuvin had something to do with the death."

She cleared her throat. "Yeah, I have no idea. He's so unsympathetic and unserious about it that I'm concerned. But that's how he's always been, just an emotionless dick when it comes to serious issues." She glanced over at Gyuvin who was carelessly sat on his phone with his airpods in.

Gunwook sat down on the bed next to Yunmi and placed a pillow between them. "You know, we're still not friends yet." He said softly.

Yunmi nodded. Even if they were acting civil now, there wasn't a chance that any of them would have forgotten everything about their past. Gunwook laid down and took a while to think about all of the possible reasons why Gyuvin would be so salty and not care about someone who he considered a friend.

"Has Gyuvin ever liked you?" Gunwook asked out of nowhere. "I don't remember him expressing things like that but I might have a thought." gunwook recalled to hearing Ricky mentioning Gyuvin liking Yunmi earlier and wanted to see if it was something useful.

Yunmi shook her head straight away. "Gyuvin's always had a soft spot for me and we've always been close friends. I doubt it has to do with him having feelings for me."

Gunwook wasn't convinced but just brushed the thought off before things got weirder. He suddenly received an unknown text message and tilted his head as soon as he read it.
