CHAPTER THIRTY: Confession

- HAN YUJIN

"I fucking found it!" He shouted, his voice ringing in the air as multiple footsteps dashed towards it. "Gyuvin isn't here, but I found it." Yujin wiped his head in relief and ran towards her room.

Taerae and the staff followed in desperation and silence as the sound of the key unlocking the door was heard. Yujin hesitantly turned the handle and once he saw the room, he lost his voice. Nothing came out of his mouth and Taerae peeked in.

The view was unexpected - Yunmi was sleeping in her bed, but all of the bottles were full on the desk. Her room was a mess and it was clear she was bed rotting this whole time. Tissue was littered across her bedroom floor and she seemed to be looking calm despite the room conditions.

Taerae ran inside and shook Yunmi's body in worry. "Yunmi???" He watched as she groaned a little and moved, causing him to sigh in relief. "Oh my days..." Yujin and the staff joined in and walked in, the maids immediately gawking at the sight of the messy room.

Yunmi's eyes opened slowly and she immediately sat up. "How the fuck did you get in?" She moved back in surprise. "Why does everyone always have to save me in such situations?" She crossed her arms. "I'd genuinely rather die here right now."

Yujin raised a brow. "Shut up I literally thought you died for the second time you silly little idiot." He sat on the bed next to her and glanced at the bottles. "What's with the booze? I'm just surprised that it's all full. Were you going to drink it all or something?"

The girl didn't respond immediately and sighed. "Okay well maybe I was, but I wasn't going to straight away." She glanced at the multiple bottles that the maids were picking up. "I just needed something that would've took my mind off of what happened." She gulped, now looking down in guilt. "I'm sorry for making you worry, I just didn't know what to do."

Yujin embraced his sister and buried his face into her shoulder. "This is really embarrassing but you've been making me so worried lately you stupid bitch."

She chuckled a little and pat his head. "I'm sorry..." She glanced up at Taerae. "A lot has happened recently, I don't know how to deal with things when a lot of weird shit happens to me"

Taerae sighed and sat down next to her. "It's fine, I'd understand that you're overwhelmed. The case is still going on however.." He glanced at his phone. "Oh, I'm getting a phone call from Hanbin." He stood up straight and smiled at the two. "Sorry to leave so early, I'll be back here tomorrow morning. Don't play another scary stunt again, okay?" He patted her shoulder before walking off and saying a distant "Hello?".

Yujin let go of his sister and leaned back. "Okay, now that you're like here..." He watched as the last maid left the room and shut the door. "Care to tell me what the hell was this episode about?"

She sighed and laid down on her bed. "Okay, I'm telling you something that's like life threatening so you seriously can't tell anyone this." She turned to look at him and he simply nodded. "I was being alone here because I was arguing with myself whether to tell you or not."

"Okayyy, and what is it?" He lifted a brow and sat up more straight. He didn't know what to expect at all, and his fear grew every second. He wasn't so sure what Yunmi was about to divulge but he wasn't the slightest bit excited once he saw her face.

She gulped. "I'm going to tell you everything that happened in the college. I'm really not supposed to, but I feel like telling you would be a great help to the case.." She looked up at his nervous face again and opened her mouth. "Yejun is alive." She simply said, her words cutting through Yujin's face. His curious expression dropped into a disbelieving expression. "Yeah, and he like somehow went psycho and hurt me."

Yujin gulped. "He's... Z, isn't he?" He gasped once Yunmi nodded. "Is this just him trying to torture all of you after doing what you all did?" She nodded again. "Oh my-"

"So, he's been planning a bunch of shit. We already know he knew he was going to 'die', but the weird thing is he doesn't know who tried to kill him. Or maybe he does, but I'm not sure." She ran a hand through her hair and swiftly pulled Yujin closer. "He told me a lot of things that could really help, and since you're like a wannabe detective or whatever, you can help me right?

"Why do you want to find out who tried to kill him? Don't you hate him now? He tried to hurt you Yunmi." He seemed angry and disappointed. "Why do you want to solve it?"

She gulped. "I still love him."

"No, you don't." Yujin ridiculed her and scoffed. "You're doing it because you feel bad." He noticed her change in expression, she really means it. "But, why?"

She looked down in shame. "I don't know. I just want to know who did it, that's all... just please. I'm just dying to find out who did it, this case has been in shambles ever since I was put as a suspect for it!"

Yujin didn't know exactly how to react; she seemed genuinely upset and although he hated the fact Yunmi still felt some sort of sympathy for him, he could sense her feelings. "So you just want to know who attempted to kill him, is that right?"

She nodded. "There's still so much more we need to unfold, Yujin. If we try hard to find out who it is, everything will make sense. We all have secrets that we don't disclose until the worst moments." Her eyes started to shake as she looked at him with strong perseverance. "Helping me would just not only help the case, but just let us find out what the fuck's been going on with everything and everyone else."

Yujin couldn't help but nod. "Okay, fine. I'll help. But seriously when did you start to talk so smart?" He said jokingly, making her laugh before hugging him. "Don't say thank you, I'm just being a good brother."

She giggled. "Thank you, I don't know." She then sat upright again and sighed. "Now let me tell you everything he told me, okay?" She patted in front of her, indicating that he sits in front of her during this huge conversation. "This will stay between us and us only." She ordered, earning a slightly terrified smile from her brother.

But as soon as she was about to begin, the door bursted open. The siblings shot their head to the side and saw a small group of tired looking people panting in front of her. Gyuvin and Yunmi locked eyes and he immediately ran up to her, pulling her into his embrace.

Yunmi's eyes widened and saw the others walk in, their voices going on top of each other's every second. "Oh my, am I that important?" She managed to laugh a little as she pat Gyuvin's back. "Why the hell are you here?"

Yujin hummed. "Oh yeah, when I was looking for the key I called Gyuvin since he knew where it was. Bit too late though."

Gyuvin's arms didn't leave Yunmi's body as he spoke. "Sorry, my father caught us all together and had a hissy fit. We managed to leave as Hyeri's mother walked in to distract him." He looked at Yunmi in surprise. "I'm surprised you aren't dead."

She rolled her eyes. "Okay, whatever. Why exactly were you all together in the first place?" She looked at them with a curious smile. "I'm so special I have my own little saviour group."

Ricky snorted. "Yeah whatever. Anyway we were discussing something, like we know who hurt you..." Yunmi's eyebrows raised and her mouth opened in shock. "It was Yejun, wasn't it? He's alive."

"I-" She went silent for a moment, shaking her head. "How did you-"

Yujin huffed. "Oh wow I thought I was finding out some top secret shit, so we all just know he's just living?" He crossed his arms and faced the others. "I felt really special for a second."

Gunwook and Hyeri giggled before facing Yunmi. "We all know now, and we're here to help." Hyeri pat her head softly. "We'll make sure that bastard doesn't hurt you again."

Gunwook nodded with a smile. "Jeez, even after ghosting us you still are awkward." He chuckled at Yunmi's distraught expression. "We know who did it Yunmi. We know who tried to kill Yejun"

Once those words left his mouth, Yunmi started to panic. "No." She shook her head. "We... we can't leave it at that. Even if you do know, there's still so much we need to know about the case."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Hyeri looked at her in disbelief. "So you also know who did it, but you're just going to act like you don't because of something else?" She crossed her arms and looked at the girl strictly. "The truth of the motives can be left with the actual investigators..."

"No." Yunmi said sharply. "No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No." Her hands were raised to the top of her head. "Stop." And at that moment, her sight turned black.

- HAN YUNMI

Yunmi's eyes opened slowly, and she looked around again in a panic. Her first instinct was to believe that whatever she saw was a dream. But once she saw the figure next to her, that thought was crushed. "Uhh..." Her voice broke out.

Gyuvin turned his head to the side and looked at Yunmi in worry. "Oh, you're awake!" He gave her a sympathetic smile and picked up a bowl. "The others left due to curfew... but I stayed incase you woke up." He cleared his throat before taking a spoonful of food and placing the spoon in front of her mouth. "You passed out in the middle of the conversation, and Yujin realised that you hadn't eaten... so that's probably why."

Yunmi looked at the spoon and back up at Gyuvin. "Um, are you feeding me?"

"No!" He rolled his eyes. "I'm being nice here, eat it or starve again." He placed the bowl on her lap and broke their eye contact. "I'm still trying to be nice to you... Hyeri said she'd beat me up if I decided to be a dick again."

Yunmi chuckled silently and fed herself some of the porridge. "Why did you stay here? Is something going on or do you want to talk to me about something?"

He then gulped. "Can I... sleep here tonight? I don't really want to go back home yet, since uhh... you know. The case..." He scratched the back of his head and didn't meet her eyes. "I know we've been a little patchy lately but uhm-"

"Yeah, of course." She said immediately. "That's fine with me, as long as tomorrow we sort out whatever the fuck was going on between us earlier on this whole month." Yunmi devoured another spoonful and handed him the bowl, already being finished. "Thank you."

He was in so much surprise from her answer that he couldn't even speak, his eyes were open in surprise and his mouth was agape. All he was doing was holding the bowl whilst staring at her. "Uhhh... you're welcome."

the whole plan was made in gyuvin's dad's favour as it gives attention to his college because of the long term investigation and the 4 super popular students being involved

yejun's mom:
this is because he had a scandal i'm pretty sure, cheating i think. he needed something to distract the public, even if it meant getting his own son under the bus and being a suspect for a murder in his own school

yejun's mom:
what i'm saying is that he knows more than anyone and he's using this case for bad reasons, which is why it's going on for so long. he knows none of you did it, that's why he's dragging it on

yunmi:

at first we believed it would be solved quickly, so we were planning to move to avoid attention

jiwoong's father and i already know, but we don't want to say anything as we know we can't. however i can't give the reasoning why.

yunmi:

yejun's mom:
i'll tell you a group of people of who we think did it, and you and yujin are going to be the ones to investigate them and gather all of the evidence to conclude to one person, okay?

yunmi:
wait why are you leaving it to us? we aren't proper detectives or anything

yejun's mom:
you have the power to do so, and it's easy to catch the killer once you focus on it.

yejun's mom:
now, investigate these people for me...

Once Yunmi read the names, her blood ran cold. "Okay. I was definitely expecting these people but now that even his parents think it- fuck man." She whispered to herself, she was about to sit up from her bed but Gyuvin's head was still resting on her chest. "I'll tell him tomorrow," She sighed, dropping her phone to the side.
