"Interview Eight: Park Gunwook." Matthew said calmly. "This is about your whereabouts on the night of Yejun's murder." He looked at Gunwook and he nodded in response. "This will be quick since we already have photographic evidence of where you were."

Matthew looked down at his notebook and read the first question he jotted down earlier. "Where were you on the night of Yejun's death?"

"At my girlfriend's house." He shrugged. "I was there until midnight and then left to go home."

"Then..." He looked down in disappointment. "She texted me," He glanced at Matthew who looked confused. "My girlfriend. She told me that Yejun was going to tell Gyuvin that I was dating her. So I got mad and you know, I get very defensive when it comes to people finding out who she is."

Matthew hummed. "Okay, and did he tell you to come to Chaeri College?"

Gunwook nodded. "Well I actually asked first, but I went there since I was angry but then I saw Ricky there. We went in together through the back, it was open somehow."

"Anything else?"

"Well we got lost." He admitted with a slight snort. "Chaeri isn't our college, so we were just struggling to find out where Yejun was, and it was obviously dark."

Matthew sighed. "Okay so you were at the crime scene around the time the death supposedly took place, but you never found him?"

Gunwook nodded. "We were looking for him but it was already four and it was pretty scary to be in a huge college at that time, so Ricky and I dipped."

"Did you see anyone else in the building at the time? No signs of Yejun?"

"I saw Gyuvin." He shrugged. "Yejun somehow texted all three of us to come but he was never there. I'm sure Yunmi was there too but I didn't see her."

Matthew then looked down at some notes then gulped. "Did you see anyone with a baseball bat?"

"What? No." Gunwook snickered. "That would be extra creepy, but I know that Gyuvin found a missing one in his house yesterday."

"Yes, it was found in the principal's office." He then tilted his head. "Did you ever find the principal's office? Or any classrooms?"

"Um.." He pondered. "No. Again, it was dark so we were basically fucked in the whole building. The only room we found was the janitor's room."

Matthew nodded and sighed. "Okay so you left around four in the morning and never saw Yejun?"

"Nope, I never saw him."

Matthew nodded and stopped the recording. "Okay, thank you. You may leave." He dismissed the boy and once the door closed, Matthew stared down at his notes in confusion.

"Ricky and Gunwook were both in the building, but couldn't find Yejun." He began to tap his foot impatiently. "Was he already dead by then?"

He groaned and took his phone to call Taerae. "Hey. Can you interview Yunmi and get Hanbin to interview Gyuvin as soon as you can please?"

"I'm starting to think Gunwook and Ricky were tricked into the crime scene." He spoke, "We need Gyuvin and Yunmi's perspectives on the night quickly, they seem the most suspicious as of now. Yeah, thanks. Bye."

"Guys, Gunwook invited his girlfriend over!" She sing-songed as the two boys walked downstairs with messy hair and baggy clothes. Seems like they definitely cared about meeting her.

"Okay well since we're fake friends now, I want to introduce you guys to my girlfriend." Gunwook snickered, "Come into the living room and say hi, will you?"

The two followed Gunwook and Yunmi into the room and there was a girl being covered by a blanket sat down. "You can reveal yourself now.

The girl pulled down the blanket and revealed herself, and was surprised when Yunmi had basically jumped onto her in excitement. "HYERI!!!!!!!"

"My sister is your girlfriend?" Gyuvin stood in shock, watching as Hyeri and Yunmi were giggling at each other on the sofa. "Well, almost sister."

"I thought we all eventually found out, and I kind of figured like two weeks ago." Ricky snorted. "I saw them two together in the college garden."

Hyeri and Yunmi were embracing each other for ages and Gunwook crossed his arms. "I don't think I've ever seen you that excited to see me."

Hyeri snorted and wrapped her arms around Yunmi's. "My bad, this is like my wife right here."

"But why can't you tell people?" Ricky then butted in. "I knew you were dating secretly but like.. why exactly?"

Hyeri budged up and Gunwook sat next to her on the sofa, carefully resting his arm on her waist before looking down at her wirh a smile. "Are you dumb? Her mother is the vice principal."

"How else would he get those good grades?" Hyeri laughed. "Her and the principal were helping his grades go higher and keep him as the top student, across both Chaeri and Narae. Statistically, the smartest would be Yejun, but you know."

The others nodded in agreement. "But still, he's still really smart. My mom just really liked him."

Gyuvin sat down and crossed his arms. "Were you dating for that long? And like, I never knew?"

Hyeri shook her head. "Maybe like, a year and a bit ago we started dating yeah."

Gyuvin sat up and stared at her in confusion. "But you said you've been together for like, two years?"

"We weren't dating the year before last year, but we were kind of together. At that time he was talking someone else and I was too, but haha we kind of found each other." Hyeri laughed awkwardly.

Gunwook laughed awkwardly too and looked at Yunmi. "Yep, it's just been us two for a year. And Yunmi was like one of the first to find out."

"Wow, so you just cheated on your partners for each other?" Yunmi asked in intrigue, earning a shy nod from the couple. "That is so bad but you do you I guess." She snorted.

"Ew so what happened to that other guy you dated then?" Gyuvin raised a brow at the girl. "And you, I didn't know you were even talking to someone else two years ago."

Hyeri's eyes saddened. "That ex cheated too." But she turned to Gunwook. "But that doesn't matter, he cheated on me, I cheated on him. I'm over it. Honestly Gyuvin I thought you'd figure out by now." She quickly drove the subject to something else and made everyone turn to Gyuvin in amusement.

Gyuvin huffed. "Wow I really don't know anything about anyone." He crossed his arms, kind of upset he really doesn't get told anything. "Anyway, I swear to God if you hurt her Gunwook I will fucking find you."

"Okay boss." Gunwook said in a teasing manner. "Fun fact, once we got together she liked me that much her mother was actually the one who insisted said she'd help keep me at the top of both schools. Mostly because she was scared of my parents but also because I treated Hyeri well."

"So my old bestfriend is dating my new step sister..." Gyuvin tapped his foot as he looked at them like a detective. "Okay but were you really that scared to tell me?"

"You two suddenly becoming almost siblings was partially another reason why I ended up never telling you." He kissed Hyeri's cheek and started to play with her hair. "And I know that us two isn't a big deal but you know how strict my parents are with my relationships."

"Me too Gunwook, me too." Yunmi nodded, reaching her arm out to high five Gunwook. "Dating people lower than you seems like such a crime these days. And since Gunwook is like a future politician or whatever, I'd understand why he was so secretive."

"Okay but you boasted about your relationship with Yejun all of the time, I'm surprised you weren't disowned." Gunwook rolled his eyes.

"And remember that time you tried to kill me and Yejun because we joked about telling Gyuvin who you were dating?" She laughed, but no one else did, and the room was uncomfortably silent after she had said that.

Gunwook frowned. "Yunmi-"

"I'm over it, it's fine. Why is no one else laughing?" She pouted at the others. "Honestly, I thought we were trying to be friends again."

Hyeri looked up from Gunwook. "Hey, tell us that story. If you want to obviously, I'm really curious about what went on."

"Did Gunwook not tell you it?" Yunmi asked curiously.

Hyeri shook her head. "He refused to tell me because he felt so bad and knew that us two were friends."

"Awww." Yunmi jokingly hit the side of Gunwook's head before sitting up. "Okay here's a storytime of how Gunwook tried to kill me via alcohol poisoning." She said a little too enthusiastically, standing up as if this story was some sort of cute funny fairytale.

"This was like the final straw of our friend group breaking apart by the way."

flashback - sunmer 2023

"Oh my God I'm enjoying this a little too much." Yunmi giggled as she linked arms with Gyuvin. "Hi."

The boy looked down at the girl and chuckled. "Someone's had a little too much to drink." He moved her hair out of her face. "Such a Yunmi thing to do."

She stumbled forward and held onto his arm. "No, that's so unlike me."

"Mhm." Gyuvin didn't look at her and walked her towards the kitchen. The house was currently filled with people and it smelled of a mix of weed, beer and sweat. Gyuvin had to make his way through a dozen couples making out on the way to the kitchen and tried his best to get through them quickly.

Once they reached the room, Gyuvin let go of Yunmi and leaned against the wall, taking his vape out of his pocket and holding it to his lips.

Yunmi took it from his hands and quickly inhaled the vape and handed it back to him. "Thanks. I am going....." She didn't even finish her sentence as she stumbled away from him.

She ended up struggling to walk as she was looking around for Yejun. "Where the fuck is my boyfriend." She muttered to herself. Her vision was so blurry that she didn't even realise she had bumped into someone.

It was Gyuvin. Again. He looked down at her with a smile and placed his arm around her shoulders. "Who are you looking for?"

"Yejun." She said, "You know, my boyfriend-"

"I know he's your boyfriend." Gyuvin cut her off in irritation. "He's outside with Gunwook, I'll take you."

Gyuvin had his arm fall from her shoulders to her waist, and his excuse was that it would be easier to drag her out of the house without her being injured.

She found him and pointed at him. "Gyuvin he's there!" She tapped Gyuvin and he could only nod with a slight scoff.

"Uh huh." He walked her over to the boy and Yejun locked eyes with him straight away. "She was looking for you." He said, letting go of her waist. It was clear Yejun had noticed the hand placement and he sent him a dirty look.

Yejun then gave Gyuvin a fake, bitter smile. "Thanks." He took Yunmi by the waist and pecked her lips, making sure Gyuvin saw everything.

He rolled his eyes and began to leave her with Yejun and Gunwook. Their location was in the garden, quite far away from the pool and from everyone else.

"God, stop making out I'm right here." Gunwook scoffed from the side as the two were still kissing. He scoffed again and broke them apart and stood in between them. "You two need to calm down sometimes."

"Are you sad your girlfriend isn't here?" She asked with a giggle. "It's okay Gunwook, she- wait she's right there!" She shouted, pointing over at Hyeri on the other side of the pool.

"GUNWOOK'sS GIRLFRIEND!!!!" She screamed, waving at Hyeri. It had caught attention of many people and some people began to whisper, asking questions about Gunwook's relationships.

Gunwook frowned. "Yunmi, no-" He tried to cover her mouth but she wouldn't stop.

"Hello! Gunwook's girlfriend he's over here!" Yejun had joined in and started waving, causing more people to look over at who they were waving at. Thankfully, Hyeri wasn't looking their way and was purposefully ignoring them.

Gunwook groaned. "Guys, stop." He pulled them back. "I told you not to say anything, especially not at a fucking party!"

The couple kept screaming and waving and Gunwook ended up shoving them down on a bench outside. "Shut the fuck up." He said through gritted teeth.

He turned around and saw a cooler. "Hey, let's play a game!" He took the cooler and pushed it towards them. "Whoever drinks the most in one hour gets to get out of cleaning the house tomorrow morning."

"Gunwook you are an intellectual." Yunmi winked at him before taking out all of the beverages and Gunwook handed them two red cups and some shot glasses.

"Okay I'll come back in an hour, drink as much as you want and drink all of this, okay?" He worriedly said and once they nodded he sighed in relief and began to walk away, telling everyone "Sorry" and "Ignore them" to keep their attention off of the two.

half an hour later

"Are you two good?" Ricky asked as he walked towards the two. "Are you going to feel sick?" He took both cups and put it in front of their mouths in panic. "Woah, okay stop drinking. Please throw up in here."

The two didn't respond as both of their eyes rolled back and their mouths began to bubble and foam. Ricky looked at them in panic and they both knocked out on the bench, falling down. "Oh fuck, fuck, fuck."

Someone else had walked over and screamed. "Oh my God, they're foaming at the mouth someone call the fucking ambulance!"

People were panicking and screaming, beginning to crowd around the two in worry and trying to help their bodies. Many people were holding both of their bodies up and screaming for help.

Gunwook had ran over and stood there in shock. "Oh what the fuck have I done?" He whispered to himself as he watched his friends have their mouths open and be unresponsive. "Does anyone know what's happening?" Gunwook asked one of the boys who was crowding around.

"Can't you see? They obviously had alcohol poisoning. They must have drank too much in a short amount of time." The boy said before turning back to the two on the bench. He knew he was never going to be forgiven for this.
