The rain seemed endless. It poured down buckets and made it very difficult to see anything. Your clothes were completely soaked and were clinging to your body uncomfortably. To make matters worse, you had goose bumps all over your body and were shivering madly from the lack of a shirt.

I'll be lucky if I don't catch hypothermia by the end of this, You grumbled.

You suddenly stood still when you spotted a large figure in the distance. From where you were you could tell it was no ordinary being.

"My, my, isn't a bit late for you to be out?" The female voice said eerily. You could hear the mocking grin on its face.

"Who are you?" You asked.

You heard her giant feet stepped towards you giving a good look at the creature before you. "I am known as the Deep Sea Queen," She smiled. The monster stood at an incredible height, practically towering over you. She wore a bejeweled crown on her head as well black two piece bathing suit that covered her scaly blue skin.

"Well if we're going to be formal about this, I'm (y/n)," You said. "So what are you doing here?"

"We've come to claim this land in the name of my husband, the Deep Sea King," the Queen grinned, exposing her sharp fangs.

"Aaand that's what I was waiting for," You sighed, rolling your eyes. "Sorry, but I can't let you do that. See, I live here and no offense I don't feel like being ruled by a dictatorship, if you were even going to let humans live."

The Queen threw her head back in laughter. "You don't have a choice." She suddenly thrusted her fist down on you, but you lifted your arms up in time to deflect. "I'm sorry but I wasn't asking, I was stating."

Despite her having trunks for legs, you were able to kick them out from under her. But the monster was quick. You had to roll out of the way before she slammed another fist on you.

"Insolent..." The Queen scowled.

You jumped back on your feet only to find the Queen was as well. You both ran at each other at lightning speeds, launching a punch in each other's faces. You heard jaws crack in the split second before you both went flying in the opposite direction.

A growl escaped your clenched teeth as you flipped backward but caught yourself skidding across the pavement. Your knees felt like you had just skinned the whole top side.

"Perhaps you will provide better entertainment than those other weaklings," the Queen snickered.

"Same here," You chuckled, locking your jaw into place.

The monster suddenly leapt at you, closing the incredible distance between you two. She came with her fist plunging into the spot where you just were. The pavement cracked and dented as you rammed your foot into the creature's jaw. You heard it roar in pain while you climbed onto her back, wrapping your legs around her thick neck.

She clawed at them, marring your skin but you only tightened your hold on her. The Queen grunted as she slammed you onto the slick floor. You arched your back at the impact that trembled through your whole body, especially your skull.

You couldn't react quick enough when the monster caught your foot and flung you into a nearby building. The glass shards cut you up real good as you tumbled inside. You picked at some of the glass sticking out of your skin as you staggered back up. Looking at the damage around you, you saw that you had almost crashed through the entire building.

But the Queen would be back for another attack. You broke out from the opposite side of the building and climbed up onto the roof. You pushed your legs into gear and zipped off the structure with a swan dive.

Down below was the monster, waiting for you. You gathered momentum by spinning forward until you struck down the Queen with kick drop on her face. Using your other foot, you shoved off with foot to her chest. The monster groaned in pain as she slammed into the building across the street.

You wasted no time in taking advantage of her stun and ran across the street and onto the wall of the building. From there, you strode up to her face rammed your knee into her cheek. Yet again, you heard more bones shattering.

The Queen cried out in rage and shot her arm out towards you. You gasped as her huge hands grabbed you by the waist. "I think I've had enough of you," She growled.

The creature swung you around like a rag doll all around the area, smashing your body into the surrounding building. Little by little, your skin began to rip off your limbs. By the end of her rampage, your face felt pretty numb.

You heard her laughing hysterically as you tried to recover. "What an ugly face you have now." You grit your teeth, feeling your body working to repair the damage.

"After this fight, you're going to look so hideous that your husband won't even recognize you," You threatened.

"Oh is that so? Well you're in a rather precarious situation for you to be making these promises," the Queen grinned her full set of knives.

You focused on the flames burning inside you and suddenly unleashed it all around you. Your skin literally became fire for a second, scorching the monsters hand and causing her to drop you.

You fell onto your butt cold from the rain pelting you but hot from all the open wounds being fixed. Smoke rose out of the monster's hand as she shook it violently. "You bitch!"

"You haven't seen bitch yet, the party's just getting started," You chuckled, rising to your feet.

You should've thought of that before. Of course fire would be the weakness to a fish monster. Only problem was you weren't the best with elemental manipulation. Oh well, that was your best card and you were going to play it.

The Queen suddenly began to plunge a series of punches onto you. The first one caught you off guard and smashed you into the pavement. You shut your eyes in pain as each fist dug into your flesh and seemed to strike into your vital organs. You could feel bones breaking while you coughed up blood that splattered onto your floor and ran down your chin. The gravel beneath you deepened with each blow.

"I'll crush your body until your nothing but stain on the ground!" The Deep Sea Queen cackled maniacally. Her attacks abruptly began to speed up. Your body seemed to vibrate with each impact. "This is the end for you and your kind!!"

"I'm telling you, she's not going to be able to get out this one," Kura growled into the phone. "Arco, let me help her."

"I told you not to interfere."

"I'm not! This is different!" Kura shouted as he watched you get pummeled into the ground.

"She isn't in critical danger yet. You even vouched that she was strong, did you not?" Arco countered.

"Yes, but...."

"Then let her get out of this one. She has been a success with her enemies thus far I don't see why she should lose now."

"Yeah 'cause those other guys were total pushovers, this one....this one's caught her in a different circumstance," Kura said anxiously.

"Hm? What does that mean?" Arco question.

"She's thinking," Kura replied. "She's thinking too much about this. She has a different mindset than back then. (y/n) is confronting a powerful enemy and trying to find a way to defeat them, and sure that seems like the reasonable answer, but that isn't what she's best at."

"Don't get me wrong, she's incredibly smart but her strength doesn't rely on that. It relies on instinct."

"So...you think....she must first release her sanity before she can use her powers?"

"That's exactly what I'm saying."

"She's been changed. She can't use her power because she thinks that redeeming herself is enough," Arco realized aloud. "But....but there must be a way to trigger it."

"Let me know when you find out how," Kura said snidely. "Look, she's going to be killed if I don't—"

There was a sudden tremor rushing throughout the vicinity. Kura gazed intently at the Sea Queen's form that covered your own.

"S-something's happening..." Kura whispered. "(y/n)....?"
