You were grabbing your keys and your phone when you were stopped by the cyborg in the hallway. "Where are you going?" Genos asked curiously.

"Out," You replied, busily making sure you weren't missing anything. You were going to meet the mysterious ninja from the other time and wanted to be prepared for if and when you encountered some kind of crime. You were hoping to kill two birds with one stone today.

"Without Saitama-Sensei?"

"He's a big boy, he can handle himself," You said as you slid past the cyborg and down to the end of the hall where the door was. "I've gotta get going. Tell him I'm going ahead of him."

"Sure."

After that, you followed the address Sonic had sent you and found yourself in a quaint little coffee shop. It was old fashioned in design but oddly comforting; almost like stepping into a modernized fairy tale.

"Hey."

Your eyes followed the formal greeting near the back of the room. As you came closer to the table you saw just the person you were looking for. "Sonic."

He was dressed rather casually, much to your surprise. You half expected him to be in his spandex outfit (you had to admit, he had a good view from the back).

"Sit down," He gestured toward the seat in front of him.

"I didn't think this was your style," You commented as you looked around the place. "But it's a cute establishment."

"You appear a lot prettier when you're in wonder."

You glanced over to Sonic in slight shock and found the ninja rapidly shaking his head. "Ah....I mean, you were really on edge last time I saw you." There was a small blush tingeing his cheeks as he tried to regain composure.

"Well, thank you. And for the record I think you look really pretty too," You grinned much to Sonic's annoyance.

After Sonic went up to the counter to order for you guys, he came back full of questions. "Who are you? How can you keep up with my normal speed? Do you work for someone?"

"Whoa, calm down there bucko," You motioned hastily with your hands. "One question at a time. First of all, my name's (y/n), (y/n) (l/n)."

Sonic frowned in thought. "(y/n).....I've never heard of you yet I feel like should...."

You strongly hoped he wouldn't. "Maybe you're just weird."

"You're weird," the ninja huffed. "So, how are you so fast?"

"Well it's an ability of mine," You shrugged. "I've had it for a long time."

"Do you train?" Sonic asked.

You laughed out loud. "Not in succession, no."

"Then how...?"

"What? Surprised a girl can keep up with you?" You smirked.

Sonic scrutinized you under his heavy gaze. "I don't understand."

"Understand what?"

"You. You're so strange yet so intriguing."

"I hope it's in a good way."

"It's definitely in a good way."

You smiled brightly at him. Just then, the barista called your guys' names and you went to pick up the drinks. You and Sonic decided that you guys would continue this conversation outside while you took a walk around.

"So," You said after a sip of your coffee, "What about you? Who are you?"

"Oh no, don't you try and turn this on me. This deal was for me to learn about you, not the other way around," Sonic interjected.

"Hey I'm curious too. Come on, let's play a game! For every truth I tell you, you have to tell me one of yours," You suggested excitedly.

Sonic didn't seem all that convinced, but he caved. "You start then."

"Hmm, I've broken nearly every bone in my body," You stated very formally.

"What!? How?" Sonic looked at you incredulously.

"Not all at the same time, chill," You giggled. "And I don't really remember, they were all in random fights. Your turn."

Sonic furrowed his eyebrows pensively. "Huh, well.....I don't really like heroes. I think they're useless people with nothing better to do."

"Oh well that sucks. That means you don't like me," You dejected with a shrug.

"You're hero!?"

You nodded. "Yup, as of recently. I've got my ID card and everything."

"Why!!?"

"Well it's for a good cause," You said. "Plus it's somewhere where I get to do good." Instead of bad, You wanted to add but chose not to.

"So you're the noble type," Sonic scoffed. "Typical."

"And you're a broody ninja, how typical," You retorted with a grin.

"Shut up."

"Hey, do you mind if we go window shopping?" You asked.

"Window shopping?"

"Yeah, you know when you look around but don't really buy anything."

"There's a name for that?" Sonic questioned.

"Oh come on!" You laughed and tugged his shirt to get him moving.

You strolled through the store until you found Sonic browsing through the t shirts. You went up to him and held up a necklace to his neck. "I think this would look good on you."

"I thought we weren't buying anything," the ninja slurped from the straw of his soda. You guys finished the coffee a long time ago. It was the afternoon now so you treated him to something colder for the rising heat.

"Well we don't have to but if something is nice we can buy it. Now let me put this on you to see how it looks."

"No." He then turned his back on you.

You pouted and reached around to clasp the necklace on him. He tried to gently knock your hands away but he ended up rougher than he expected. You gasped when the base of the necklace snapped.

The ninja also heard the sound and immediately glanced to the object. "Oh shit."

Your eyes went wide as saucers. "Fuuuuuck! What the fuck do we do!?"

While you were hyperventilating, Sonic suddenly frowned as he looked at the jewelry. "(y/n)...."

"Shit, did I bring my wallet?" You questioned yourself and patted your pockets. "What if I didn't bring it!? Fuck!"

"(y/n)."

"Crap! Did you bring money? Just in case I—"

"(y/n)!" Sonic yelled to get your attention. "Look!"

"What!?" You shouted back and followed his gaze on the necklace. It took you a second to see what he was talking about. Your mouth made an 'O' shape when you saw the matter. "It's a magnetic necklace."

"It's not broken calm down," Sonic sighed and softly flicked your forehead.

"Well that's a relief...." You breathed out.

The ninja then snatched the necklace from you and inspected it closely. "It's the Yin and Yang symbols."

"Yeah, it thought it was pretty. And it also kind reminded me of you."

He raised an eyebrow at you. "Me? Why?"

"Because you're not entirely bad, but not entirely good either. You linger between both. You do what you need to do or what you think is right, you don't categorize yourself," You explained. "It's an admirable trait, but also kind of sad."

"Sad? Why's that?"

"Because you don't belong on either side. You roam alone in this world. But don't worry, even the weirdest people find their other half," You assured with a smile.

"I believe I belong more on the dark side of the spectrum. I have a lot of blood on my hands," Sonic said.

"But you do it for your own reasons, not the ones of others," You continued. "You only do something if it benefits you."

"Isn't that how the world is supposed to work?" Sonic sighed.

"Not everyone is like that. There are some, special people, who go beyond their norm to help others: heroes."

Sonic rolled his eyes. "Heroes....they're idiots willing to throw their life away in a split second."

"Yeah, I would," You answered, not giving in to his negative attitude. "Because if I can do something to help someone else, I would most definitely do it."

"Even if it costs you your life?" He countered.

"Even so," You nodded diligently. "Because I know there are people who could live a better life than I ever did. My life means nothing compared to others. I know that they could also use their lives for something good."

"You even talk like hero," Muttered Sonic.

"Why thank you."

"That wasn't a compliment."

"I know."

After a few more minutes of looking around, you two got out of the store.

That's when Sonic surprised you when took out the necklace from his pocket. You gaped in shock. "Wha...where did....when did..."

"I stole it," the ninja sadi smugly, causing you to smack his arm. "Why would you do that!?"

"I'm kidding! I bought it when you weren't looking."

"Why?"

"You said it represented me right? Well why not?" He shrugged. "Hey turned around."

"Why???"

"Just do it," He rolled his eyes as he shifted your shoulders and faced you away from him. You then felt him place a something around your neck. You looked down and saw that he had snapped the black half of the necklace, the Yin, on you. "What's this for?" You asked him once he was done.

"I don't know, I just want you to have it," Sonic stuffed his hands in his jeans as a pink dusted his cheeks. "Besides, you heroes could use a little more dark on your side."

"Then I suppose you need more light," You smiled broadly.

You were so enraptured in the conversation you didn't notice that there was someone walking directly in front of you in the opposite direction. You bumped into them but they caught you before you could be the klutz you are and back away only to trip. Either way you landed on them pretty roughly.

"I'm so sorry, are you alright?" The voice asked.

Your body froze as you glanced up at the figure. They smiled at you with a hint of slyness. "Are you hurt?"

"(y/n)? Are you alright?" This was from Sonic.

"Y-yeah..." You replied, trying to backing away from the white-haired male without drawing any attention that you knew him. "I'm fine."

Sonic gazed back and forth between your rigid posture and the stranger. There seemed to be a strange aura of radiating off you two almost like....

He didn't get the chance to finish his thought because a bright shining head caught his attention. Without even batting an eye, Sonic grabbed narrow blade from his side and flung it through the air. You yelped as it zoomed past your ear at high speed.

"Ah! Sonic! What the hell—"

"Hey, it's you! What was your name again?" A familiar voice asked from across the street. You whirled around to who was causing a commotion.

You were thoroughly surprised to see that it was Saitama.

"You're...uh....Joint-o'-Pain Panic!"

"I'm Speed-o'-Sound Sonic," The ninja deadpanned.

Then the bald man noticed you standing there. "Wait (y/n)? What are you doing here?"

You chuckled nervously. "Hehe, funny story actually...."

I hope you enjoyed some time with Sonic. I really enjoy his character X)
