Serendipity
It was the fourth day of taking care of Min Yoongi. Seokjin came over a few times to check on him. He even set up a drip for him.
I decided to make tacos for lunch. I went back to the guest room from the kitchen holding my plate of Mexican food. I screamed and almost dropped the plate when I saw that Min Yoongi's eyes were opened and staring at me.
"Hello," he said.
"Oh my god, this is the second time you've scared the shit out of me!" I yelled with a hand over my heart that was beating like crazy. This felt rather surreal. For the past years of my life I had only seen him on TV, and now I was talking to him at my home.
He smiled, then asked, "Where am I?"
"In my house," I answered. "Two streets down from your mansion."
He nodded. His eyes traveled down to the bandages. "What happened?"
"I called Seokjin. He came and did an emergency operation on you. And he told me to take care of you. Oh, and I need to call him when you wake up."
I got my phone and called the doctor to inform him that Yoongi was awake. He said he would come, but because he was in the middle of something, it might be a while later. He sounded rather stressed out. I wonder what was going on with him?
"He's coming in a bit," I said to Yoongi.
"Alright, thank you." He looked at me and smiled. "What's your name?"
"I'm Kang Sulli," I replied.
"Sulli. You can call me Yoongi," he said as if that was some type of reward.
"Alright Yoongi. So what happened? The whole of Korea is looking for you right now."
"My mansion got attacked."
"Yea, but by who?"
"I don't know."
I noticed a slight pause before he said that. Was he lying? Either way, I decided not to pursue.
"Can you turn on the TV to the news channel please?" Yoongi asked. I got the remote and turned it on. It was already on the news channel anyway. The face of Oh Eunjung appeared. She was surrounded by mics from many different TV channels and there were many flashes of camera on her face. She was doing this interview in front of the building of their company, with the word 'Blaze' above the glass doors behind her.
With a saddened expression, she said, "I am very fortunate to make it out alive from that gang attack. I hope the gang members that attacked us will receive retribution in accordance with their crime. I will repeat once again, I strongly condemn such illegal gang activities and will cooperate with the police force to track them down."
I noticed a small smile appearing on Yoongi's face after he heard that.
One of the reporters could be heard asking, "Have you thought about Min Yoongi's funeral?"
"Yes," she replied. "I am in the process of organising it. It will likely be at the end of this month."
Other reporters shouted out other questions to which she continued to answered.
I looked at the man watching TV beside me. I said, "Are you going to tell her?"
"My funeral is pretty soon..." Yoongi muttered. A smirk appeared on his face. "I do fancy myself some gatecrashing."
"...You are going to gate-crash your own funeral?"
"That should be fun," he said with a laugh. "Not many people get to do that, if any at all."

Seokjin and I took care of Yoongi in turns. He was recovering quite well. Though Seokjin insisted that Yoongi still needed more rest, Yoongi also insisted he was fine to go. It was finally time for his funeral and he was in a suit that Seokjin got him. He told me to get in a nice black dress too as he invited me to his own funeral.
"Ready?" Yoongi asked, adjusting his bow tie in front of the mirror in my house's guest room.
I shook my head, still not believing that this was actually happening. "Sure. Are you?"
"I was born ready to crash my own funeral," Yoongi said humorously.
From the time he stayed with me, I noticed that there was an air of confidence to him that only a man with power could have. It was as if he always knew more than you, and there was something that he wasn't telling. It was intriguing, and frustrating at the same time.
Seokjin called from the living room, "We should go. The funeral is starting."
Yoongi and I walked back out to where Seokjin was looking at the TV. It was a live broadcast of Yoongi's funeral. The male reported started speaking as Yoongi's girlfriend entered the shot. "Here we have the first guest of the funeral arriving. Oh Eunjung is the organiser of this funeral and is currently the CEO of Blaze. She was also a victim of the same gang attack that caused the death of Min Yoongi."
It was chaotic at the scene as many news stations try to get the best shot of the funeral attendees. I laughed a little when another reporter almost ran into the camera of this news channel.
Seokjin's car was parked right outside my house. He got in the driver's seat while Yoongi and I got in the back. It was a short drive to the funeral. Yoongi was still not very talkative; he was probably saving his energy for his grand entrance. After all, his gun wound has still not fully healed.
I had never been to the funeral of a famous person before. The security level was dialed up to the maximum. Just as we were about to arrive in front of the funeral hall, a man in a black suit stopped us.
Seokjin rolled down his window and said, "Can I help you?"
"What is your name?" The man in the suit asked.
"Dr Kim Seokjin."
The man looked at his phone and scrolled. "You are not on the guest list. Please turn your car around."
"Well, I was invited, I just declined." Seokjin said. He nodded toward the back of the car. "Go see for yourself why."
Yoongi rolled down his window. "Hey, you!"
As soon as the man spotted Yoongi, the colour on his face immediately drained as if he saw a ghost. Well, in his mind he just did.
Seokjin rolled back up the windows and drove past the frozen guard. We finally stopped in front of the entrance to the funeral hall.
Seokjin and I exited the car. He then went around to open the door for Yoongi. The flashes from the reporters were blinding. They must have been confused as to who I was, and why I was attending Yoongi's funeral. However, all there attention immediately diverged as the star of the event stepped out. I thought the flashes and the fanatics that was the media couldn't get any more intense, and I could not have been more wrong.
I had to shield my eyes as Seokjin and I followed behind Yoongi into his funeral. I let out a sigh of relief as we entered the hall, leaving the craziness outside.
I could see that Yoongi's girlfriend was speaking at the front. She paused and her eyes widened when she saw who t was that just entered. The presence of Yoongi alone was enough to send the whole hall of people into a state of shock. Sometime I wished I had that much influence over people.
"Missed me?" Yoongi said.
Yoongi and his girlfriend approached each other. She fell into his arms with tears of joy. I saw that a few people came to surround Yoongi. My eyes focused on one particular man.
He was very handsome. He had a sweet face yet I could tell he was very well-built. His eyes were big and made even more starry by the tears in them. I couldn't take my eyes off him.
"Who is that talking to Yoongi?" I whispered to Seokjin.
"His name is Jeon Jungkook. He is a manager in Yoongi's company," Seokjin answered.
Yoongi also greeted a man and a woman. Those two seemed to be a couple.
"What about them?"
"They are Park Jimin and Song Yerin. They are good friends of Yoongi and Eunjung's."
Those two were also good-looking. Why do powerful people seem to all have beautiful friends? Then I thought back to myself; ever since the Busan Killer came and messed up my life, I had been rather antisocial, slowly losing all my friends. I had never forgotten the promise I made to myself the night it happened: I would find the Busan Killer, no matter what it costs.
After a long while of Yoongi greeting eveyone in his funeral, him, along with those in his inner circle, started leaving. The handsome man, Jungkook, walked past Seokjin and I. He paused and said to Seokjin, "Dr Kim, thank you for saving Yoongi-hyung."
Seokjin smiles and replied, "You should thank Sulli over here too. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to save Yoongi."
He turned to look at me and when his gaze met mine I think I got a little shy. This is not a common occurrence for me. I held his gaze though as he started speaking.
"Hey, Sulli. I will say this for everyone in this room: thank you very much. You have no idea how much this means." A smile appeared on his face, making him look even more angelic.I liked his rather musical voice too.
I reciprocated the smile and shook his outstretched hand. "I am only doing what anyone would do."
I realised I probably was shaking his hand for a bit longer than the socially acceptable time so I retracted my hand quickly, though it didn't seem like he minded it. He flashed me a final quick smile before hurrying through and following the rest out.
Well, that was dazzling.
Dammit. I wanted to get his number or something but I didn't have the courage to, and it would probably be odd to do this in a funeral, albeit a meaningless one. I looked out of the hall to the a final glimpse of him. I realised my breathing rate was faster than usual. Great, now I have a small crush on someone I most likely will never see again.
I sighed and followed Seokjin out. He looked at his phone and told me that Yoongi said to come with him to the Blaze Headquarter, which was relatively close to the funeral hall. I went in Seokjin's car. However when I got there, I was shown to a meeting room on the first floor and told to stay there.
After around 15 minutes of me awkwardly sitting around in the room by myself, someone finally came through the door. I was expecting it to be Seokjin, but instead, it was a man I didn't know.
"Um, hello," he said with a goofy smile. "My name is Kim Taehyung."
"Is everything alright with Yoongi?" I asked.
He pursed his lips cutely and shook his head. "Boss hurt himself again so Miss Oh and Dr Kim are taking care of her. They were going to come thank you in person but they can't now. Oh and also, they said you are invited to dinner at Miss Oh's penthouse for saving Boss' life."
"Oh, alright, that's nice of them," I said. "When?"
"I don't think that have decided yet. Boss said he will text you more information." He smiled at me again. "If you are ok in here then I'll leave now.
This Taehyung person seemed like a fun guy. Even though I didn't find him as attractive as Jungkook, he was still really cute.
I had already missed my chance with one guy today, I wasn't going to do it again. So I plucked up my courage and asked, "Hey, can I get your number?"
He seemed really surprise by that. His mouth gapped for a few moments before words came out. "Y- Yea- Sure!" He hurriedly took out his phone from his pocket and read his number to me. I recorded it and called him so that he would have mine too.
I could see a sign trace of blush on his face. His large eyes too shy to look my way, instead staring at his own phone as if it was his life-saver. Cute, I thought.
