[Cale Henituse's POV]
Back then, the war against the White Star was carrying on ruthlessly.
Either side did not want to give in and used all of their strength and strategies to try to defeat the other.
Despite the multiple warnings by his comrades, Cale Henituse looked at the branch in his hand with a contemplating gaze. Raon Miru's roars about how he would destroy the world before killing himself resounded in his mind.
Somehow, Cale felt that all of his friends would do bad things if he acted self-sacrificingly again... to be honest, who even would want to sacrifice themselves?
Cale huffed a laugh.
Not that he wanted to... but all of this, the war against that white radish bastard, was for the sake of achieving his slacker life.
For the red-haired young man, real peace could only be achieved when the world was truly peaceful without war. So, let's just say that all of this was an investment to achieve his dream.
Reddish-brown eyes glanced at the dagger from the World Tree. It had been hidden by Raon and Choi Han, but Cale was smarter than them.
"Cale Henituse!" The reddish-brown eyed man grinned in displeasure. That bastard, even calling his name with a battle cry like that? It really hurt to hear.
"Cale-nim! What are you holding-?... CALE-NIM!!"
"Weak human! DON'T YOU DARE STAB-!"
They were so far apart now. Cale just looked at them with a shadowed gaze. Then looked at the comrades who had been with him since the first war with the White Star one by one.
Without their strength, their loyalty and their kindness... Cale would not have been able to maintain his Slacker Life investment until now. Because of that, Cale smiled gratefully at them. Which is interpreted as-
-a last smile.
The stab to his heart deafened Cale's ears to the calls that were calling out to him, taking turns to call. The reddish-brown eyed man trembled as he turned to his right, smirking slightly at the White Star, which was speeding towards him with terrifying speed.
...well, even now humans with superpowers were still scary to Cale.
"CALE HENITUSE!"
It only took one last action from him; Choi Han would settle the rest. With blood flowing from his heart... Cale just hoped that what the World Tree had said would work quickly... so that his peaceful life... with the others-
"HUMAN!"
"CALE-NIM!"
"CALE!!!"
"-FATHER! PLEASE, DON'T LEAVE ME-!"
Fa...ther...? Ra...on...
Warm darkness greeted him.
.
.
.
Faintly, Cale heard someone talking to him.
Who?
"-le... -world... -recover-"
"-nothing... -authority... -stronger-"
"-Cale! Can... - hear me right now?" Even if interrupted, yes, you bastard. Do I look like I can talk to you right now? The figure speaking to him grimaced.
Where am I?
"-well, you're in-" ugh. Why did it hurt so much? Where was the Crybaby? The others? Super Rock? Thieve? Glutton? Fire of Destruction? Sky Eating Water? Why.. where was everyone-?
"Whoah. Calm down Cale-! You now-!" Shut up you bastard! Damn God! What have you done again, huh? Shit, this hurts so bad! Why is it so hard to get a slacker life? Is it that much to ask for? Why-!
"Cale Henituse." Cale fell silent as he heard the God of Death's even and firm voice, waiting with annoyance and a sullenness that couldn't be hidden.
"Right now, you are already dead in your world." At this information that was straight to the point, Cale was stunned. Recovering from the light shock, the red-haired man sighed. Well, that stab straight to the heart was so vital and insane, it wouldn't be surprising if he died.
Seeing Cale not responding to the news, the other person was suddenly nervous.
"And... your family... did I say that they are just like.. under the guise of the Caleism sect-?" Watch the way you talk, asshole, they're my family. The other person, who Cale already recognized as the God of Death cleared his throat, trying to bring his voice back to being authoritative, befitting his godlike nickname.
"To summarize it, they didn't take your death well." Cale hummed softly and took another breath. This was one of the things that had haunted him when he stabbed himself, the reaction of his family. Especially Raon's roar and Choi Han's gaze full of destruction. Then On and Hong who saw the traumatic event... haahh... they were only children; they shouldn't have had to see that scene...
"And... I've received a lot of terror-I mean, calls from my Saintess, Cage. They asked me to save you." Just turn me on, I gotta-
"No. You were dead before I could reach your soul." Are you really the God of Death? Or just a fool in the guise of a god?
"But... I can restore you in another world." Oh no. A cliché straight out of the isekai stories Cale had read in his free time while still being Kim Rok Soo. Hearing it from Death soured his mood. He already had a sick heart, now his mind was made crazy too!
"That world is the only one I can reach, since a long time ago, I was one of the Constellations here. Although I logged out and was seen as O■t■■ ■■d," Death muttered, looking nostalgic for a moment, whereas Cale was frowning at the unpleasant sensation.
"Well, it will be very interesting to see your story in that world." Cale could feel the bastard smirking. Is my life just an entertainment for you, jerk?
"Honestly, judging from your life history in this world, you can get your story labelled as a Legend, hmmm maybe even as Mythycal..." What the heck are you talking about?
"It's not interesting to explain everything. You don't like spoilers, do you?" Soul reader Kim Rok Soo nodded firmly. He even once beat up one of his colleagues for daring to reveal a spoiler from the novel he was reading. What's more, it's was a spoiler about the ending!
"My authority is limited, the Star Stream has strict rules now. I can only send you there. For some reason you have Fragment there. Even though it's small, you are there. You can recover there." Cale momentarily contemplated Death's words. What did it mean that he was already there? The Alternative Universe theory immediately crossed his mind. And-
... will he be able to return to his world? Return to his family?
Death only smiled.
"Your arrival will be awaited by many souls, Cale Henituse. A beloved child who is loved by both Gods and Nature alike. I hope that you can find your true purpose."
Not answering his question, Death's presence disappeared, leaving Cale Henituse in the warm darkness that enveloped him.
... haahh... he really will isekai...
He wondered... what kind of world would welcome him?
And, damn it, the wound in his heart hurt so bad.
Hopefully he wasn't going to die in that world as well.
.
.
.
Groans of pain were the next thing Cale realized.
Shit, shit, shit.
It hurt so much. With the Vitality of the Heart malfunctioning and disappearing to who knows where, the pain had multiplied exponentially.
"F-fffuck..." Cale cursed with a long sigh. Reddish-brown eyes opened slowly, glancing at the dim golden light that shielded him from the surrounding darkness.
... Where was he?
"Cough-ugh-!", vomiting up blood, Cale could only lie down in resignation. Waiting for death or maybe a miracle to come. Although Death always talked nonsense, it usually held some truth. If he was destined to recover here, could Cale hope that that was true as well?
Whatever, it was okay to die too. As long as it was not too painful, he wouldn't mind. However, his family...
Haahh.... he will give a will later to their dreams.
Survival was the best!
But the situation right now was—damn. Cale felt his slacker life start to wave him goodbye with a handkerchief and tears.
Closing his eyes and occasionally coughing, Cale lay still. Until, Record inexplicably activated itself.
It gave him a flash of a memory, Raon holding his piggy bank with a joyful smile. Adorable little dragon. Perhaps Raon was the only dragon who really liked saving money in piggy banks. The image was replaced by the sound of snoring on the side of his head as they slept. Raon, who was holding out the apple pie with teary blue eyes. The only time Raon had called him by his name.
Then his memory turned to Choi Han. The protagonist was scary, but very reliable. Also possessing the soul of a hero, he was a helper that was difficult for Cale to avoid. At times, Cale was content to have returned Choi Han's genuine smile. Memories shifted to the various exclamations of 'Cale-nim'. The laughter as Cale was surrounded by the children as well as the Wolf tribe pack. Yong's black aura that enveloped the sword Cale gave him when facing the enemy. Also, a grateful smile with twinkling black eyes.
On and Hong were adorable but deadly. They loved to be petted and always asked for praise. Cale subconsciously smiled. Memories alternately revealed a pair of siblings who always were by his side. Their grins, while planning to plunder the evil nobles, were just as sneaky as Raon's and Cale's.
Then there was his Hyung-nim. A glimpse of Alberu, who was ruffling his hair in frustration. Staring in horror at Cale's collection of documents. His swindler's smile that Raon kept gushing about was identical. Even memories of his annoying threats to make him Minister when he becomes King.
Then there was Lock, who clenched his fist with a determined face. Patting his family on the head. And his happy smile when Cale had told him that Lock was already strong and powerful.
Rosalyn who was grinning maniacally at the mana crystals Cale gave her. An independent daughter who was more concerned with her dreams than ruling. As well as an amused smile that understood Cale's suffering when he was misunderstood.
Mary. One of Raon's soul sisters. When they were looking up at the night sky with Raon and Cale by her side. Her incredible bone dragon, her GPS-style voice that was now emotive and the cool black veins that decorated her skin. As well as a flash of the robed figure smiling slightly as Cale said that she had survived well.
The chatty Eruhaben, who was always pointing out how un-dragon-ish Raon was behaving. But despite that he didn't reject them, he just resigned himself to accepting the group of children who wouldn't leave him alone. Goldie Gramps who chuckled and snapped his fingers, sending an attack to the enemy. As well as the rare smiling face as he watched Cale and Raon interact.
There was also Molan's father-son duo who had never stopped feeding Cale's fear until the very end. The lemon tea was so annoying, that Cale would promise to eradicate lemons when life was at peace. Beacrox's cooking... damn it, stop showing all the cooking visuals, Record!
Basen. Lily. Deruth. Violan. Whale Tribe. Wolf Tribe. Tiger Tribe. Dark Elves. Queen of the Forest, Litana. Bud Illis. Annoying Tonka. Even Princess Jopis. Everything...
-the sound of footsteps stopped Record's reverie.
Who...?
Cale was trying hard to stay conscious. He forced his heavy eyes open.
Please... whoever it is that's coming, they must have good intentions. Or at least let this unlucky bastard die in peace if his intentions were malicious to interfere.
Then, he caught a glimpse of gold flakes scattering in the air. Ah, the shield that protected him was now gone. Cale was completely resigned now.
"... -ugh..." groans came from the injured man, making the newcomer breathless in surprise. Why was that? Was it so surprising to see people dying?
"...Hanibaram?" The Henituse eldest son's brow twitched. Who was Hanibaram anyway? Trying to lift his head up, Cale found a pair of black eyes speckled with stars looking at him with a complicated look, filled with unspeakable feelings, and-
-ugh. Damn wound. Couldn't Death ease his pain first if he intended to restore him in this world?
"...hm? A-ah... fuck you, God of Death..." Cale grumbled, then made a promise to smack the god in the back of the head the next time they met.
"-you're hurt!" Of course, I'm hurt!
Another sound was heard. It seemed, two people were talking to each other for a moment. Panting heavily, Cale then felt the presence of a man moving closer to him, hands coming to rest under his knees and back. He was about to be lifted up when his wound started acting up again.
"Ugh-!" Dude, your gaze is sus. Cale's inner hunch could feel this saviour looking at him for a very long time.
"Please show me the nearest clinic um-" Wait. Did they just speak Korean?
"Heewon. Jung Heewon." He was transferred to Korea? Which era? What year? If it was in a world where there were a Kim Rok Soo, Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo, Cale would kill that fucking god.
"-Heewon-ssi. I am Kim Dokja. And potions are not enough to cure Hanibaram." Again, Hanibaram who?
Kim Dokja?... what a unique name, Kim Reader, ha ha. Cale liked this name for some reason.
Cale wanted to ask; he swears, but his mind felt very heavy now. His vision was slowly turning black and running footsteps were the last thing he remembered.
.
.
.
The next time he regained consciousness, the sight of a cracked ceiling was the first thing to greet his vision. The ceiling was not something typical of a house in the Roan Kingdom. Slowly, his other senses started to work.
It looked like he was lying on a bed. His body still ached a lot, but it was better than before. His breathing felt lighter too, even though his head still hurt. Then, his hearing caught a gasp on his right side.
There were people watching him.
Instantly Cale Henituse became alert. Well, his mind did, seeing as his body couldn't cooperate much right now.
With trembling movements, Cale turned his head to the right and with blurry vision looked at the black-haired man, who was wearing a dark shirt and suit with black pants. Once his vision cleared, Cale frowned, noticing that some glitch had appeared on the foreign man's face.

His eyes stared blankly at the sound of a robot buzzing in his head with an ominous alarm. The glitch that had previously almost covered the man's entire face faded to show a classically handsome pale Korean face. His black hair looked soft under the room's light, and his face was adorned with a pair of black eyes that had the glint of stars.
Huh... his eyes were beautiful.
Now was not the time to be dazzled, Cale Henituse!
"... who?" his throat hurt so much. The other man seemed aware of it, offering him a sip of water. He even helped Cale to sit up for a bit so he could drink it. Well... from the get-go, this man meant well.
"Do you speak Korean?" The other man immediately asked to the point of making Cale stare at him blankly for a moment. Ah, he remembered. He was in Korea now, and there were two people who had saved him.
Nodding, the man looked somewhat relieved and gave him a small smile.
"How do you feel now?", asked the man with a hint of concern in his tone. Cale frowned. Did this foreign man know him? Why did he look so worried for Cale, who incidentally was also a complete stranger to the other party?
"... better than before," replied the red-haired youth in a low voice. The situation was indeed better than before.
"Ah, how impolite of me. Introducing, my name is Kim Dokja. You can call me Dokja." Cale looked at the other man, Kim Dokja, once more with a blank look. Okay, the introductions were formal, as if they were going to do business. But why was Cale seeing such an expectant gaze from Kim Dokja?
The black-haired man's body was straight, two hands clenched at his knees, with his gaze focused on him.
"Nice to meet you, Dokja-ssi. My name is Cale Henituse. You can call me Cale." Unable to bear those expectant and sparkling eyes anymore (a glance reminded him of Choi Han), Cale gave up and closed his eyes, then introduced himself while bowing lightly, a sign of politeness in Korean.
Seeing no response, reddish brown eyes opened. He saw Kim Dokja gape slightly, his black eyes widened expressively, as if he had not been expecting that Cale would answer him.
"...is there something strange about my name?" asked Cale as he could not help but feel wary. Dokja's reaction so far had been very different from that of strangers who didn't know each other casually. It almost seemed like this Dokja somehow knew him?
"A-ah! Nothing strange. It just sounds like a western name. Aren't you of Korean descent, Cale-ssi?" The reason was a lie. Cale narrowed his eyes and shook his head.
"Thank you in advance, Kim Dokja-ssi... I've troubled you to save me." Cale then gave a small genuine smile. For a moment, he looked confusedly at Dokja's blushing reaction.

[Some Constellations who love beauty are dazzled by the beauty of the Incarnation 'Cale Henituse'!]
Cale then stared blankly at the holographic blue screen around them...honestly, what world did the God of Death throw him into this time? Actually, he had noticed it before, but because he had been so focused on the first person who found him, he hadn't really paid any further attention to the sight of the strange blue floating screen.
Was his smile weird? Forget it. Trash did have a smile that was different from normal people. So, that was understandable.
It was undeniable that Dokja's act of saving him was good.
Cale should be grateful, thanks to Dokja, he managed to survive.
The first step was to find a solution to be able to return to his home.
"You're welcome, Cale-ssi. I'm glad to see you're feeling better." Surprisingly, the answer this time felt right and didn't reek of lies. Taking his eyes off the black-haired man for a moment, his reddish-brown eyes glanced around the room.
... very messy. Cracks in walls. Medical equipment scattered everywhere. Broken window glass.
Wait... Cale suddenly had a bad feeling. The atmosphere of this surrounding room felt very familiar-
"Ah yes, Cale-ssi. If you don't mind me asking, how did you survive Main Scenario #1? Who were you attacked by?"
Huh? Main Scenario #1?
"-hmmmm. Are you really feeling better, Cale-ssi? If so, we should hurry to the underground. Main Scenario #2 is about to begin." For the third and longest time, the red-haired man stared blankly at the black-haired man.
Why go underground?
Main Scenario #2?
"... Main Scenario #2?" Cale parroted, reddish-brown pupils starting to shake, as well as his pseudo-inner Slacker Life shaking violently. Hearing the other injured man's reply, Dokja gave him a strange look.
"Yes. The world is ending right now. We survive by clearing the Main Scenarios now. Don't you remember, Cale-ssi?"
The red-haired man froze.
... the world was ending...?
Haahhhh.... really, fuck you, Death.

2. Cale's Ancient Power is problematic, it will be explained in the next chapters.
3. Both Dokja and Cale will be a bit OOC.
