[Lee Hyunsung's POV]

"Hold on tight, Lee Hyunsung-ssi." The former soldier blushed lightly once more as the long-haired woman riding a motorcycle in front of him spoke calmly. For the umpteenth time the 28-year-old apologized, earning a click of the tongue from Jung Heewon.

"No problem, Hyunsung-ssi. We're here to help each other, so don't feel embarrassed," Heewon's to-the-point remark was like an arrow piercing Hyunsung's heart, making the larger figure chuckle awkwardly.

"If you want to learn to have more confidence, just look at that bastard, Kim Dokja." Hyunsung almost wanted to protest at Heewon's harsh words, but found himself turning his gaze to the side. It was Dokja-ssi who was talking to Cale.

The youngest's expression looked sleepy, but he occasionally nodded, signaling that he was paying attention to Dokja-ssi. Meanwhile, their leader (Hyunsung felt Dokja-ssi was fit for the position), looked very cheerful. His eyes sparkled brightly with a wide smile.

(...why can't we see his face clearly?)

Even so, it was enough to tell Hyunsung that Dokja-ssi was very happy with Cale. They also looked good together and complemented each other-

"Don't look at his face. Look at his waist," Heewon chided, immediately changing Hyunsung's gaze from his face to the dark-haired man's waist.

Well... there was no problem? Of course Cale had to hold Dokja-ssi's waist tightly to prevent him from falling, right? Especially since the youngster looked so sleepy-OH!

Hyunsung wordlessly started hugging Heewon's slender waist and tilted his head innocently in understanding.

"Like this, Heewon-ssi? Forgive me for being too forward. Of course holding on like this is important so that I don't fall," the former soldier said with a relieved smile. Somewhat surprised at the rosy blush that appeared on the other woman's cheeks.

"Well... it's good that you've learned it," Heewon replied with a small stammer. This was followed by a muttered 'that's not what I meant, damn it. Too much positive energy radiating-'.

The former army officer's gaze once again glanced back at the companions beside them.

Cale's red strands of hair were blowing around lightly, and a frail hand rose to adjust the position of the hair. He frowned as it immediately fell back into disarray, earning a chuckle from Dokja-ssi. Dokja-ssi immediately held out a small hair tie, pulled from seemingly nowhere expertly, all while one hand remained on the bike.

Hyunsung's heart warmed at the sight.

Cale's presence was like a reminder to Hyunsung that a cold figure like Kim Dokja-ssi was still a human.

His first impression was still as vivid as yesterday, how Dokja-ssi had taken charge of their group since the events on the train. He'd helped him calm down to be able to open the door with his strength, and then took charge when fighting many zombies to reach the other side of the bridge.

At first glance, Dokja-ssi feels like a general in a military base.

But Cale proves the general in Dokja-ssi has a heart. Their interactions resulted in a wide variety of reactions from Dokja-ssi, which often caused laughter for Heewon-ssi and Sangah-ssi. It was like witnessing Dokja-ssi's softest side, which only appeared when Cale was around.

Hyunsung didn't know what the other two's relationship was.

Dokja-ssi and Cale seemed very close, but Hyunsung didn't feel that they were mere 'friends'.

It was just as he had said before.

Both of them complemented each other in their own way.

But neither left the other behind. Instead, their bond pulled everyone into their orbit.

"What are you thinking, Hyunsung-ssi?" His reverie was broken by Heewon's slightly worried voice. Then he shook his head with a chuckle.

"Just thinking that Dokja-ssi and Cale look really good together-" the woman with the motorcycle coughed.

"I guess you didn't realize that, Hyunsung-ssi." Realized what?

"Well, yeah..." He could see a small smile on the woman's lips. Then looked over her shoulder briefly with dark eyes that sparkled with fondness. There was a strong beautiful aura emanating from her that caused Hyunsung to hear his own heartbeat pounding louder and louder as the world turned dark.

"They are indeed compatible, because I matched them~"

... my heart-?

.
.
.

-when realization came to him, the first thing Lee Hyunsung realized was that he was in a room that was so familiar.

At first it felt like a dream. He was scared to see that this dream was so accurate, it seemed like reality.

"This... this place.. hugh-!"

.... unless this is real?

Fear took over Hyunsung's heart. His large body unconsciously trembled, restraining himself from dropping into a punishment position, like during his time at the military base. Unpleasant memories returned to his mind, during his days of harsh training by the commander and other cadets.

A streak of red entered his blurry vision. Hyunsung's eyes glazed over, trying to ignore the noisy voices in his head that clouded his senses.

"C-cale-?! Wh-why are you here?!"

What a fool you are, Lee Hyunsung?

Of course he wasn't here.

He should have realized that already.

Seconds before he had arrived at the very place Hyunsung was avoiding, he was watching Gong Pildu and his subordinates from the back line of their party headquarters, Chungmuro. Dokja-ssi had trusted him to guard their station, and so had Cale! Being trusted by both men made Hyunsung feel reliable.

However, the golden light that surrounded them made everyone present surprised and scared, including Hyunsung. And a second later he blinked his eyes, the scene suddenly changing to-

"T-this isn't the academy... b-but m-my room at the headquarters...?" muttered Hyunsung, finally able to control himself, though his heart was still trembling with fear.

This thought again made the man feel weak. Dark eyes looked gloomy and glistened with tears that threatened to spill out. The broad-shouldered man moved from his kneeling position in order to sit on one of the beds in the room, where he had once used as a past member of this headquarters.

What was going on?

From this question, Hyunsung could guess the answer.

Something had happened. From Dokja-ssi's actions, he was sure. Because that man had shown Hyunsung many things. Like the miracle of survival and countering scenarios with his genius and creative mind. His brief experience with Dokja-ssi made Hyunsung very confident.

But still... Why was he suddenly in this room?

Turning away from the sight of his sweaty palms, Hyunsung's eyes scanned the entire room. Memories and confusion flooded his mind, accompanied by a silence that settled within his heart.

Lee Hyunsung was born into a strict military family.

Generations of his family followed the example of his grandfather— a Vietnam army veteran—making his father a high-ranking member of the army.

Following his father was his brother, who graduated from the navy army, and was equally high in ranking. And then his mother who dealt in military administration, which was quite high and secretive.

This made Hyunsung's family very fixated on the rules and military life.

Although he had no problem following his family's rules, the resentment towards this 'conformity' remained within Lee Hyunsung.

He realized this in his adolescence years when he saw other people who could enjoy their teenage lives so much. Meanwhile, Hyunsung was alone, wrapped in the tension of his parents' expectations.

He grew up and entered the military after graduating high school and stayed there for 8 years. Even so, there was no progress from his position as a lieutenant, which was always the subject of criticism by his father and brother. Meanwhile, his mother didn't really care.

So far, Lee Hyunsung had survived thanks to his grandmother's kindness.

His eyes were closed from the longing for her in his heart.

It had been two years since his grandmother's passing, and it still left a deep impression on Hyunsung's heart.

Hyunsung's grandmother was incredibly understanding, loved his grandfather and was always reminding her husband not to be too hard on himself or their son. Although it broke her heart to see how harsh Hyunsung's father's upbringing was, it didn't impede her from always defending him.

She repeatedly reminded him that his gentle nature was not a weakness, unlike what his father and brother always said.

Still...

"Hufftt..." covering his face with his hands, Hyunsung reluctantly moved from his seat to explore the room. Perhaps looking for more clues in order to understand the situation.

The former soldier realized... that he could not stay like this.

The present was more important than worrying about the past.

There was still his group (Hyunsung warmed at the thought) that he still needed to check on.

There was Dokja-ssi, Cale, then Sangah-ssi, Heewon-ssi, and little Gilyoung.

A small smile unconsciously spread across the 28-year-old's face. A few memories of their time in Chungmuro Station before Dokja and the others' departure flashed back.

[ "Gentleness is not weakness, Hyunsung-hyungnim."

The man who heard that widened his eyes. His head immediately turned to the source of the voice, finding Cale now smiling at him.

"Wh-what... do you mean, Cale-ya?" His heart echoed with the warmth he could only feel from his grandmother. Their words were almost the same so it was a frightening coincidence that hit Hyunsung's consciousness.

"Well, I noticed that Hyunsung-hyungnim has been looking rather glum lately," Cale replied with a calm air. He walked over and sat next to the former army officer who was cleaning his shield (a gift from Dokja-ssi).

"A-ah... I see..." A wave of Shame flooded Hyunsung's body. He could not let his emotions get the better of him once again and trouble others.

"Fo-forgive me for interrupting-"

"No, hyungnim." His heart felt sunk by the cold words. W-was Cale hating him now? For being so weak-?

"It's not bothering-" Cale turned his head with a tilt. His flowing red hair framed the pretty face, along with the soft tinkle of his ruby earrings. Not to forget the warm glow in that reddish-brown eyes, like a jewel, accompanied by a small smile of understanding.

"-It's precisely that which makes you more human."

Lee Hyunsung froze at that sentence.

"Gentleness is a strong trait," Cale continued. A small chuckle then with an indulgent, nostalgic gleam in his eyes.

"Because that trait is what makes us survive." His eyes closed slowly, as if absorbing his own words as reinforcement.

"Surviving so that 'humanity' is not destroyed."

If only Cale could hear how that sentence broke down Hyunsung's walls bit by bit. Cale's vision then blurred and Hyunsung did not realize that his eyes were now glazed over.

"Many of us are stubborn, Hyunsung-hyungnim. Including me," Cale pointed at himself.

"And especially Dokja-hyungnim." Hyunsung laughed wetly at the joke. Really? It seemed so unbelievable. But the light in Cale's eyes was a form of sincerity that could not be ignored.

"Then we need someone like Hyunsung-hyungnim who can embrace our stubbornness. Who can weaken that stubbornness." Cale's hand moved and patted the former soldier's shoulder twice with a gentle pat.

"You've done great by remaining yourself, Hyunsung-hyungnim."

"Remember that, ne?" Chuckling fondly, Hyunsung ruffled Cale's red hair. Feelings swelled with warmth as the younger man did not protest. Just gave a light frown of displeasure at having his hair messed up.

It was like having a younger brother who cared deeply for his older brother.

"Hyunsung-ssi!" the two turned their heads, seeing Heewon calling from a distance with Dokja-ssi and Sangah-ssi by his side.

"Please come here for a moment! We have something to discuss!"

"No need to shout. Hyunsung-ssi can hear well and wake up. You're destroying my eardrums-"

"Shut up. You're ruining the atmosphere as usual, Dokja-ssi."

"C-calm down, guys-" ]

The gazes of all of them fixed on Hyunsung were not incriminating. But they were light in attention with smiles full of joy. It made Lee Hyunsung's confidence swell.

Although it was ironic that he now felt that warmth in this... apocalypse-like situation, there was no denying that Hyunsung was grateful for their meeting.

That's right.

Now was not the time to worry about the past.

Hyunsung had to find a way to get back to his party again. No matter the obstacles in front of him, with a determination as strong as steel, he would face them all.

[Constellation 'Master of Steel' smiled proudly at Incarnation 'Lee Hyunsung'.]

Embarrassment immediately crept up and changed the color of his cheeks to a deep scarlet. How could he forget the presence of his sponsor! The Constellations must have seen how traumatized he reacted earlier and it was embarrassing to watch.

[Constellation 'Master of Steel' says 'it's okay'.]

[500 Coins sponsored.]

Ah... it feels like being given pocket money by his grandmother. Hyunsung scratched his cheek awkwardly. He Could feel the calm aura of his sponsor.

"W-well... thank you, Sponsor-nim."

[Constellation 'Master of Steel' waved his hand casually and asked Incarnation 'Lee Hyunsung' to return to his group.]

"Of course, Sponsor-nim! I-I'll try hard!"

Looking around once more, Hyunsung immediately grabbed some items that could be used. Such as his bag, blanket, some food stashed in the drawer (making him frown, did his roommate forget to bring these along?) then changed clothes and got ready while tying his boots.

Hyunsung easily took out Dokja-ssi's gift shield from his storage room (after being taught by the other man), demonstrating the position before exiting the room. He trembled as he looked at the bloodstains that littered the room alongside the pungent smell of rotting corpses.

... it seems that many Incarnations failed to pass the first Main Scenario. And in the worst case scenario, considering this was a military base, many would immediately kill each other to survive.

Shaking off the uneasy feeling, Hyunsung walked slowly to the first floor (the dormitory room was on the second floor.

His mind drifted back to Dokja-ssi's explanation. That each district had different scenarios with different monsters. Everyone had to be vigilant because these monsters roamed every area. Arriving at the first floor, the situation was more or less the same as the second floor, only more corpses. Making this place a nightmare for everyone.

Hyunsung's stomach ached just thinking that a little kid like Gilyoung had to see sights like this along the way.

The former army continued walking all the way to the front yard. Slightly relieved that he was actually at the Gyeryongdae army military headquarters (a city close to southern Seoul). Although he had to go through several stations, Hyunsung didn't mind.

"Maybe there are some cars stored?" muttered the man, who immediately turned towards the lower parking lot of the headquarters building. His eyes lit up brightly at the sight of some of the ground transportation left there.

A few firearms would be good too. It was better to prepare everything.

Hyunsung entered the armory and put the equipment he needed into a bag. He then put everything into the back of the car, checked the gas, and tried to start it manually (since he didn't have a key).

Now, his trip to Seoul wouldn't take long thanks to his military car. Hyunsung smiled with relief. Perhaps he could apply some of the personal training Dokja-ssi had suggested, while raising his level.

The stronger Hyunsung became, the more his party could rely on him. The man's heart pounded, just thinking that his shield could withstand any monster attack and getting everyone's surprised faces as a reaction.

Eyes blinked twice and looked back blankly. Realizing that his car was now traveling away from the military headquarters of the Gyeryong ground forces.

... seeing the place where he had worked for 8 years of his life, empty and devoid of any life... was somehow calming? It was as if all the painful memories were drowning with the emptiness, until Hyunsung realized that the present was more important.

He had to reach Seoul soon.

Dokja-ssi must be waiting with the others.

[Constellation 'Master of Steel' encourages Incarnation 'Lee Hyunsung'!]

The former army officer nodded and tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

Lee Hyunsung would return with a stronger shield so that Dokja-ssi and the others would no longer worry about him.

*******

Not far from the military headquarters, Hyunsung's eyes couldn't escape the form of a small child trying to get away from the monsters.

He was probably around six or seven years old and the former army's heart sank at the child's pitiful appearance.

Especially when the gray eyes, which were identical to Jung Heewon-ssi's, stared at him with tears in that eyes.

Raising the shield and activating the skill, Hyunsung came and destroyed all the monsters.

[Yoo Sangah's POV]

"Ah... Sangah-ssi?" The summoned woman turned her head at the noise, seeing Dokja-ssi approaching with a nervous face. This brought a smile of relief to the brown doe-eyed face.

Thankfully.

Dokja-ssi's expression was already better than before.

She knew many things had happened that weighed heavily on the other man's mind. The brown-haired woman was sure that the events of Cale being attacked must still be imprinted on Dokja-ssi. From every activity they did, there was never a moment that passed where their gazes were only directed at Cale.

Seeing Dokja-ssi approaching her with a nervous expression, it was enough for Sangah that the man was starting to rely on them again. Even if it was only small and momentary. But, his move was much appreciated-

"Sangah-ssi? Are you okay?" The 25-year-old woman nodded in embarrassment.

"Of course, Dokja-ssi. Sorry about earlier, I was lost in thought." Dokja-ssi rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Can I help you, Dokja-ssi?" The man proceeded to nod slowly and pulled out the blue screen in front of him.

"Cale's taking a bath... I-I'm not sure which clothes would suit him?" Sangah was silent for a moment. Her mind went blank at Dokja-ssi's request before chuckling, resulting in the 28-year-old's cheeks to flush with embarrassment.

"W-why are you laughing, Sangah-ssi? Don't turn out like Heewon-ssi..." she could hear Dokja-ssi's betrayed voice and immediately shook her head.

"No, Dokja-ssi! I'm just a little surprised!"

Ah... of course, Dokja-ssi didn't trust Sangah-ssi that easily concerning how they planned to proceed in the future.

But, even for something as small as asking for clothing advice... Sangah was very happy. Dokja-ssi asked for her opinion on taking care of Cale.

Isn't that sweet? Xixixi.

"I think the cream color suits Cale, Dokja-ssi. Combined with dark brown pants, then a pair of black or white cardigans-?" Sangah began to give some clothing recommendations for Cale and Dokja-ssi listened intently, serious-faced.

Heewon would be happy to tease Dokja-ssi about this.

However, Sangah was no Heewon-ssi.

"Is Dokja-ssi going to pay for everything himself?" The older man nodded seriously before his eyes blinked wide in amusement. His cheeks flushed like boiled crabs but he didn't deny Sangah's question.

(Still... why couldn't she see the details of those facial features-?)

Widening the other woman's amused smile.

"Cale-ya must like it." Just this word and Dokja-ssi's expression turned hopeful.

"Y-you sure, Sangah-ssi?" The woman nodded with a stern face.

"Of course, Dokja-ssi! Whatever you give him, Cale will definitely love it!" That hopeful expression then turned into a small smile so gentle that it thrilled Sangah. That the cold and inexpressive Kim Dokja could make such a warm expression.

"Dokja-ssi must really like Cale." Sangah laughed restrainedly at Dokja-ssi's flushed face. The man was about to argue, but only the blushing confirmed the shorter woman's suspicions.

Together with the help of Heewon-ssi, Sangah would support their relationship!

Maybe they would become like lovers.

But for Sangah, Dokja-ssi and Cale's relationship didn't just revolve around the word 'lovers'. She felt that their relationship was stronger than that. Because when it comes to sharing love and affection, the word 'status' is not a barrier in a relationship and bond.

And Sangah was by their side to see how the two would come together-

.
.
.

-blinking her eyes, Yoo Sangah realized that she was in a different place.

"Where...?" The view of this room...

"... my room?" whispered Sangah in disbelief. Standing up from her position quickly made her head spin.

Why... why was she here?

Wasn't Sangah in front of Dokja-ssi and Cale earlier? Trying to grab Gilyoung and Yoosung when the golden light from the Dokkaebi's skill tried to attack them? Was that golden light not an attack, but instead a transportation skill? If so, why move Sangah to her house? Not her apartment-?

"D-dokja-ssi?" Sangah called in a low voice, frightened. Maybe this was an illusion skill, Like the one they experienced when they had tried to pick up Hyunsung-ssi and Cale at Chungmuro Station?

The unmistakable silence came as a response. Sangah's touch on every piece of furniture in her room also felt very real.

"Eomeoni*? Abeoji*?" Called the young woman again involuntarily. There was a moment of silence before walking out of the room slowly, accompanied by the sound of her heart beating erratically. (**Mother and Father in Korean]

Sangah heard no response from her parents, making her anxiety even worse.

The doe-eyed woman's footsteps reached the living room.

Her gaze went blank at the sight of dried blood soaking the room along with several rotting corpses.

Nausea settled in her stomach and Sangah turned away from the gruesome sight to vomit on the side of the stairs. Her eyes trembled with a mixture of disbelief, shock, horror, fear and anxiety. It raged like a storm and tore Sangah mentally apart in an instant.

Judging from the corpse's clothes... they were servants who worked for her mother.

Tears fell down her cheeks.

Yoo Sangah was afraid.

Very afraid.

She was alone here.

Without Dokja-ssi, Heewon-ssi, Hyunsung-ssi, Cale-ya and Gilyoungie.

Her days were peaceful. Her office life, despite the many obstacles, slurs and curses for being an independent woman, was still something that Sangah was grateful for.

Her adult life, though grueling, was worth the sacrifice.

Free from the constraints of her parents and brothers who only expected her to be a good daughter and marry rich for them.

But in an instant, all was destroyed and replaced by this nightmare.

"Eomeoni... Abeoji..."

She hadn't seen either of them yet.

Forcing herself to move, Sangah walked towards her father's work room at home. Her father, if not at the office would work on all his magistrate cases at home. Her mother... her mother would sit quietly on the sofa in her father's study... they should... they should be safe-

The woman fell to her knees when there were two decomposing bodies in the room. Immediately turning away from the sight, nausea threatened to gnaw at her stomach.

Her heart was wrenched by the fact that she would never see her parents again.

It had been so long... since Sangah had seen them. It had been 5 years... since she decided to move to live separately in the apartment.

Of course... they kept each other informed. Their relationship wasn't as broken as others thought... but... but...

"I-I apologize, Eomeoni... A-abeoji..." Sobs echoed in the room, sad like never before.

Losing the two figures who had raised you, broke Sangah to pieces. Reality cruelly hit Sangah, that this time was truly the apocalypse.

An apocalypse that kills many humans.

Only for the spectacle of the Constellations that filled the Dokkaebi channel with sickening scenarios like humans are just content creators to show off.

... how naive Yoo Sangah was.

Underestimating the situation described by Dokja-ssi.

Even Cale sometimes had that look in his eyes.

Eyes that had seen many things.

For the umpteenth time, Sangah's heart broke. Like being crushed repeatedly by an invisible thing called 'reality'.

What about a child as small as Gilyoung? Yoosung? Mia?

"Oh my God-" Sangah whispered between her tears.

God?

Ha!

Those Constellations... those Dokkaebi... those damn Scenarios!

The light of life left her eyes.

Returning to stare fixedly at the two bodies of her father and mother in front of her, there is a terrible emptiness in her heart. Even so, tears still flowed freely. Staying in that silent room for almost 10 minutes, just staring emotionlessly.

What about... her two Orabeoni*? They were in America... and Dokja-ssi said the whole world was experiencing the scenario despite some differences. (*Older Brother in Korean)

Hope somehow didn't grow.

Sangah didn't dare hope that her two Orabeoni were still alive.

Was Sangah being cruel-?

[Constellation 'Olympus - Ariadne' asked Incarnation 'Yoo Sangah' to remain conscious.]

The blue screen distracted the mind of the doe-eyed woman who lost the light of her life.

[Constellation 'Olympus - Theseus' reminded that Incarnation 'Yoo Sangah' must reach the location of Main Scenario #5 if she did not want to die.]

[Constellation 'Olympus - Hermes' will help Incarnation 'Yoo Sangah'.]

[400 coins sponsored.]

Ah yes... Sangah is still alive and living a scenario because of her status as an 'Incarnation'.

Incarnation... what about her group?

Is everyone teleported to a different place?

Dokja-ssi? Heewon-ssi? Cale-ya? Hyunsung-ssi? Then the three children (including Mia)? Jihye? And... Yoo Jonghyuk-ssi?

For some reason, the thought of them glowed a little like certainty. A reminder that Sangah wasn't completely alone.

"If this is at my house... then I'm in Gangdong-gu*," Sangah muttered, feeling a little worried that the location of her house was too far from the center of Seoul. (*gu = district)

Suppressing all feelings of sadness, disappointment, fear and devastation, Sangah refused to look at the two bodies in front of her. There was no time.

Yoo Sangah is still alive today.

Surviving up to four Main Scenarios and deciding that life was not worth continuing because of this sense of 'hopelessness'?

"The hell with everything-" she growled softly.

Erasing the traces of tears, Sangah got up from her knees and walked towards the room. Again holding back the tears that threatened to spill over how clean the room was (her parents still took care of her room), then changed the clothes to be lighter for battle.

She opened the Dokkaebi Shop taught by Dokja-ssi. Making many preparations due to the insistence of the Olympus Constellations convinced Sangah that many things would happen during the lead-up to Main Scenario #5.

[ "Sangah-noonim is very good at making choices," Cale said suddenly as they spent the last day resting after attacking 4 stations for two days.

Cale's sudden words made Sangah chuckle in embarrassment.

"Ah, what is it, Cale-ya? Why are you suddenly praising me?" joy welled up in her heart when she saw the young man pout a little and turn his face away. Very adorable.

"Nothing. It's just... I thought of it when I saw your conversation with Gong Pildu." Sangah blinked her eyes. Then smiled a little.

"I don't think I've done anything as cool as the others," Sangah shrugged, feeling inferior. All she had done so far was follow Dokja-ssi, take refuge behind the power of others and only have the ability to speak.

"But that ability to make decisions in an instant is something to be reckoned with," Cale muttered. His eyes twinkled knowingly at something Sangah did not understand. But, that gaze was heavy with knowledge.

"The apocalypse destroyed many establishments, rules and logic." The head turned, looking at Sangah with his beautiful reddish-brown jewel's eyes that understood. Even though Cale was younger than her by 4 years ... where did the aura of wisdom and such an understanding gaze come from?

"Making quick decisions in this situation is one of the great survival skills, noonim."

A small smile was etched on her donsaeng's beautiful face, while Sangah's heart was warmed by the kindness of Cale's words.

"You're good in your own way, Sangah-noonim."   ]

Death is certain things.

-was what Dokja-ssi and Cale emphasized over and over again.

Smiling sadly at the bodies of her parents, Sangah decided to give them a proper burial. With a heavy heart, holding back tears, she burned the bodies of her father and mother. Brown eyes shone brightly at the fire that devoured the maggots, it felt like burning the dark past. At the same time, it made the determination in her even more bright.

After putting the ashes of her parents into the jar she chose carefully, Sangah put it into her spatial storage. Then promised herself to store their ashes in a place, enabling her to visit the corpse when things were better and under control.

"I have to hurry," she muttered again. Then nodded with satisfaction at his preparations. A shimmer of gold flashed in her hand as determination filled her heart.

Sangah had to get to the center of Seoul and make sure everything was okay.

[Jung Heewon's POV]

There were times when Heewon was silent and reflected on all the things that had happened.

Like... her younger Brother, Jung Eunso, whom she didn't know how was doing after the apocalypse.

At least... even though Heewon disliked her father, Eunso should be safe with that man, right?

As a soldier serving his country, Eunso was safe with their father... right?

"-eewon-ssi!" Dokja's voice entered Heewon's eardrum and broke her reverie. Eyes blinked and turned to the source of his musings.

"Wae?" asked the 27-year-old woman, almost in an annoyed voice.

"You're not coming to eat with us? Cale will starve if you delay eating." That explanation made Heewon snort. Of course, Cale would always be the reason for Dokja's every activity.

This love-crazy man.

Heewon chuckled fondly.

"Omo omooo~ is Dokja-ssi here afraid of dear Cale starving?" Heewon's laughter boomed as Dokja's face turned completely red like a tomato. It was just like back when she worked at the bar. Some of the regulars who had become familiar with her were also a lot of fun to flirt with.

But there were no protests or rebuttals, justifying Heewon's teasing.

"Tch,"

"Ha, you're clucking," Dokja retorted dismissively, making Heewon want to pinch that bastard.

"What were you thinking? You're suddenly so quiet," chirped Dokja, peeking out of the corner of his eye whilst they walked slowly towards the campsite. They were currently on their way to another station to capture the flag.

"Nothing. Just thinking about Eunso," the other woman replied calmly.

"Your brother, right?" Heewon nodded briefly. Dokja was silent for a moment, making no reply and it brought a smile to the long black haired woman's face.

"You're pretty good at reading the atmosphere," Heewon chuckled fondly. It was like having a close friend. Even though both Dokja and Heewon didn't really know each other's backgrounds, it was still fun to share the same humor.

"... do you miss him?" asked Dokja suddenly with a voice that sounded so... empity?

"Well... he was just a little boy and tied to my father. We live apart... I guess I miss him," Heewon replied casually.

"Even though your brother is annoying?" Dokja's question sounded so innocent that it made Heewon laugh out loud. She had forgotten that she had mentioned her annoying younger brother to another man.

"Yep. He's still a kid, so he's naturally annoying."

"That's good." There was a 'tone' that Heewon did not understand in Dokja's reply. But, it felt like 'longing'?

"Gezzz, you're-" Heewon put an arm around Dokja's shoulders (not missing how the others gave a small gasp), then ruffled his hair. Her actions Earned displeased protests from the other men.

"Let go of your hand, asshole."

"Omo! Cale~ Your Dokja-hyungnim speaks harshly to a woman!" Dokja flushed with a betrayed face as Heewon called her trump card. Suddenly Cale, who was sitting with Hyunsung, gave a flat look with a furrowed brow.

That was adorable.

Seeing Dokja who immediately went silent and then reluctantly apologized to her.

It was fun teasing this guy-

.
.
.

-cries filled the dark alley as realization took over Heewon's mind.

The woman surnamed Jung forced herself to stand up because she had fallen face down onto the tiles with a thud. Well, don't blame her! She tried to reach Dokja and Cale as the golden light engulfed them all, okay?!

"Where the fuck am I again...?" muttered Heewon as she rubbed her sore forehead from the beautiful clash with the hard tiles. Her frown turned to shock as she realized that she was in one of the alleys near the bar where she worked.

"A-am I going back to where I was???"

Yep. Heewon realized that she had moved to an alley not far from her workplace, Seocho-gu. But... why was she suddenly in this alley?

"Kim Dokja?! Cale?!" There was no response.

"Sangah-ssi?! Kids?! Jihye-na?!"

Annoyance and despair crept into her heart.

Although her mind screamed 'why', her heart already knew the answer.

Jung Heewon was transferred and this alley was where Heewon vented her cries.

Away from the crowd, in the silence and darkness, her black hair blended into the alley. Because of that, the people passing by unaware of her presence. This place was perfect for making Heewon feel like the most abandoned person in the world.

Haha.

...

"Ironic," Heewon muttered. Instead of the alley, why not move her to her small apartment? Or her house? That damn Dokkaebi had the audacity to do such an embarrassing shit skill.

Sighing, the woman resorted to leaning her shoulders against the alley wall. Heewon Slumped down like an unstrung doll, covering her face with both hands.

"... why here?"

It sucks.

This whole situation sucks.

Jung Heewon's life was turning into a roller coaster.

An annoying father. An annoying younger brother. Running away from home. Working at a shitty cheap bar. Damn money. Good customers. Asshole customer. It sucks. Everything sucks (-just kiddin-).

And something even more annoying was Jung Heewon's self who didn't think about how her two family members were doing.

Eyes wide with realization.

Because she really didn't think about her father and Eunho who were not doing well.

(Lie. Heewon sometimes thinks about the fate of her 7-year-old brother-)

Jung Heewon is really annoying-

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' breathed a sigh of relief seeing Incarnation 'Jung Heewon'!]

[200 coins sponsored!]

Eh?

"Sponsor-nim?"

The holographic blue screen became a false light in the darkness of the alley.

The constellation she was sponsored by gave a happy buzz. It was somehow able to ease Heewon's burden of mind, even a little. However, thinking that the figure in front of her had been with them since the second scenario started, still greeted her kindly like this.

... 'them'?

Ah....

"How's Dokja-ssi?!" If only Heewon could grip the edge of the screen like she was gripping a phone...

"Cale?! Sangah-ssi?! Kids?! Damn, what about Hyunsung-ssi in Chungmuro Station?!"

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' tries to calm down Incarnation 'Jung Heewon'!]

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' says everything is fine!]

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' says all are scattered but still fine!]

[500 coins sponsored to calm down!]

"T-thank goodness..."

(How about Father and Eunho?)

The screen filled her view, but Heewon's gaze was blank.

Eunho... did... did her little brother really survive?

He was younger than Gilyoung and Mia... 6 almost 7 year old... and he must have (not) survived, right? Seeing how the two children who came with them had strong skills and terrifying adaptability -on Gilyoung's part.

Her younger brother, Eunho... so gentle and innocent.

So attached to his father.

His eyes were bright with trust.

Jung Heewon's heart broke thinking of those memories.

Tears flowed freely.

She closed her eyes. Recalling one of Kim Dokja's words that the Incarnation of each district could not leave the area of the ongoing Main Scenario, lest you die.

Sighing, Heewon kept a list of questions in her mind. That woman was going to ask Dokja-ssi how to check the life of an Incarnation through this holographic blue screen or items that could know the life of an Incarnation. She still did not dare cross the line to ask her sponsor, Although the presence of this constellation had accompanied Dokja-ssi's group since the beginning of the scenario.

Jung Heewon's heart felt empty.

A sardonic smile appeared on her face. People often mentioned 'emotionless', because of how quickly her emotions changed and adapted. Scaring them, Heewon had to train her emotions to be better and more real. Like in the beginning of the scenario, where the woman surnamed Jung still maintained her 'morality'.

Dokja... and other presences that brought Jung Heewon back to who she was.

"Sponsor-nim?" Heewon asked softly, Getting a buzz in response.

"...where are the others now? The ones closest to me?"

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' said that Incarnation 'Cale Henituse' was near Incarnation 'Jung Heewon'.]

... Cale?

"Oh... thank you for the information, Constellation-nim." Languidly, Heewon bowed respectfully and gratefully.

Cale Henituse.

And then... Kim Dokja.

The mysterious man who had helped her out of all the victims.

It felt like fate.

That man saved her.

And it forever felt like a debt for Jung Heewon to keep that man safe. Including the one he loved, Cale Henituse.

The 27-year-old woman rubbed her face, covering a faint little smile.

As broken as Jung Heewon's life was... she could not imagine what Kim Dokja's life was like.

The way the man acted in front of the red-haired youth answered all her questions.

Cale was like the glue that held Kim Dokja's facade and emotions together. Like an umbrella that blocked negative emotions from washing over you. He feels like a campfire that welcomes the wanderer in the cold. Cale resembled a home that receives you whenever you returned, with a view like the sun. No matter how close or far away, Cale still welcomed him with an understanding look in his eyes.

Jung Heewon... loved the dynamic between these two men.

Kim Dokja and Cale Henituse.

The two of them were like magnets, but their terrain style drew everyone together.

(Like enjoying and enduring together.)

... Heewon missed her group.

"I'll pick up Cale," snorted the dark-eyed woman with a warm glow, eliciting laughter in the form of text from her sponsor.

"Pfftt, Dokja-ssi, Dokja-ssi... Since I met Cale first, I'll take him away~"

Jung Eunso.

"I have to get ready."

Your Noona is trying to survive here. And very skillful, you know?

"Hmmm a map! Of course there should be a map! Since theres no internet, so Google Map doesn't work anymore..."

Noona just hoped that the old man was doing his duty as a soldier well.

"Then some healing kits for Cale. Then hmmm for Dokja-ssi-"

Wait there, Eunso-

"What about this, Sponsor-nim? Is it this way-?"

-Noona will pick you up after all these damn main scenarios are ruined-

"Uh... Gwanghwamun? Why is Cale still there-ugh, damn. My clothes-"

-and how selfish is your Noona to feel at ease around her friends?

"I think gym clothes are more suitable and I can move freely-"

-This Noona of yours, although lacking in sympathy, is capable of feeling it, Eunso.

"Ah! This is better! Now, tie your hair-"

.... *sigh

"Let's go!"

-I miss you, annoying little brother.

Heewon's eyes, which had now returned to their usual twinkle, glanced at the alley from a distance over her shoulder.

"Get ready, Cale-ya! I'll pick you up and reunite you with Dokja-ssi!"

[Shin Yoosung's POV]

Yoosung knew she didn't belong in this small group.

She was afraid of the gaze belonging to black-haired man, who stood so tall. He looked intimidating, and appeared as if he wouldn't hesitate to kill a child. His gaze was just as cold, and won't leave her as she was walking close to her savior, Cheonsa. The beautiful red-haired angel with a gaze as warm as a sun in winter.

"Um... why did you save me?" asked Yoosung softly. Not wanting to attract the attention of the thick-browed ahjussi and the other Eonnie who were nowhere to be seen. The older woman disappeared after getting a quick order from the scary ahjussi.

The red-haired Cheonsa, Cale, turned his head. There was a certain look that Yoosung often saw in her father and mother's eyes. It was both heartwarming and heartbreaking that she still survived while her parental figures had died in the first scenario.

To be honest, Shin Yoosung did not consider herself worthy enough to be saved.

In order to survive, Yoosung killed her dear dog, Beomie, in the last second of the first scenario. A spray of blood was what she realized then, turning her head blankly to her parents who were already lying down.

Her mother's loving smile that was gradually losing its bright color, alongside her father's warm touch that was beginning to cool down. However, the smiles on their faces as if relieved of something became a heart-breaking sight.

Yoosung spent the whole day just looking at her parents' corpses with dried up tears. Questioning every bit of worthiness she had to deserve to live [?]

Scenario by scenario she lived through.

Yoosung steals the coat of a dead man. She killed a kind woman who used to guard her when she arrived at Myeondong Station, Before finally infiltrating a group participating in the Main Scenario #4. However, she was eventually caught at the last second, thereafter expelled due to some accusations that she was a food thief and murderer.

"So... why did you save me?" said the little girl once again. Her eyes slowly lost color, the facts hitting her consciousness hard.

"... do you want me to answer honestly?" asked Cale back with a small smile. Yoosung nodded seriously, tightly grasping the hem of her shabby brown sweater.

"In that case, I saved you because you resemble someone." Yoosung's eyes widened slightly. Looking up with a questioning look while the red-haired man looked down at her.

"You remind me of my guardian daughter," Cale said calmly, hand moving to pat Yoosung's head.

"Also, I saved you because you asked to be saved." The little girl chuckled sadly at that sentence. She endeed did ask to be saved... but on the other hand, Yoosung was also willing to die.

The little girl Shin Yoosung had no other reason to live.

"... what if I'm not worth saving?" asked Yoosung in a small voice.

"Why not worth saving?"

"... I let my parents die...then killed my dog in Main Scenario #1...stole a dead man's coat and killed a woman who had kept me in the green zone...," she sad with eyes starting to tear up.

"Don't I deserve to die?"

Silence greeted the two. Yoosung's heart was heavy having to accept that perhaps now Cale would be disgusted and afraid of her. It would not be wrong for another scary ahjussi to hate Yoosung and kill her.

"I cannot be the judge of that," the other man replied calmly. There was no tone of disgust, cajoling, pity or fake sympathy. His reddish-brown eyes shone with knowing and understanding that stunned Yoosung.

"So are you."

His gaze was stern yet his hands were gentle as he brought the front of Yoosung's hair behind her ears.

"If you felt you deserved to die, why not from the beginning?" Yoosung froze at the cold question.

"It was your natural desire to survive, Shin Yoosung. And there is nothing wrong with that." Tears slowly began to blur the vision and trickle down her cheeks.

Yoosung didn't care about the existence of the scary ahjussi and the black-haired Eonnie.

All she could do now was stand there sobbing as Cheonsa knelt in front of her, staring with an understanding gaze. God, there was nothing else Yoosung wanted to do but hug Cale tightly and cry in that man's embrace.

"Does Yoosung still remember our promise?"

"... your repay?" the little girl asked questioningly, but her voice was gutlessly small. Cale nodded, not losing his calm expression.

"Yes. I think I now know what the right price is to repay me." Yoosung's heart skipped a beat at that voice.

"Grow strong, Shin Yoosung."

.
.
.

-and the sight of home was the first thing the doe-eyed girl noticed as the golden flash engulfed her. With her heart filled with anxiety and fear, Yoosung reluctantly realized that she was back to square one. The nightmare that had haunted her every night since the Main Scenario #1 took place.

"...I'm...back?" She muttered in a hollow voice. Her eyes stared blankly at the three mounds of earth where she had buried the bodies of her father, mother and Beomie with her own two hands.

What was going on?

The last thing Yoosung remembered was a Dokkaebi denouncing Dokja-ahjussi's actions and attacking them all with a strange skill.

A skill that engulfed all the Incarnations in golden light and disappeared afterward. Yoosung's heart was filled with fear at that moment, trying to reach for Cheonsa-Oppa who was the last sight she saw before the darkness took over.

Was she transferred here? To her house?

Yoosung's mind began to wander. Surviving this far had improved the little girl's thinking ability to become more adaptable to this new environment.

Importantly, Shin Yoosung was still in Seoul.

Because her house was in the Gangnam-gu neighborhood.

At least Yoosung's destination was not far from the Main Scenario #4.

"All I need now is to get there without dying." The promise that had been engraved in Yoosung's heart burned.

Ever since Cheonsa-Oppa had asked her to grow strong, Yoosung had felt a strong burning desire to survive. That burning desire to protect the one who had saved and understood her.

Brown eyes sharpened.

Surviving on her own for 4 Main Scenarios had taught Shin Yoosung a lot and the little girl could survive a lot longer.

"Wait for me, Cheonsa-Oppa," muttered the little girl. She went inside the house to get some sharp weapons such as knives as a form of self-defense. Not forgetting to change her shabby clothes into more decent ones as well as other preparations such as food preserved in cans.

Yoosung had not yet chosen a sponsor. Therefore-

[Constellation 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband' waved to Incarnation 'Shin Yoosung'!]

Doe eyes widened in surprise as a blue screen hologram appeared in front of her.

"... who?" asked the little girl warily.

[Constellation 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband' says it's okay for Incarnation 'Shin Yoosung'.]

[Constellation 'Prisoner of the Golden Headband' told Incarnation 'Shin Yoosung' to go to Incarnation 'Kim Dokja's' place.]

"Dokja... ahjussi?" Yoosung's voice was hopeful. Receiving a quiet reply from the other constellations. The brown-haired girl narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

"Why are you helping me?" What was wrong with these constellations?

To be honest, Yoosung had already seen some familiar names that were always present around Dokja-ahjussi and the other groups in such a short period of time. Especially during the battle between Dokja-ahjussi and Jonghyuk-ahjussi.

The constellation she asked did not answer. However, the little girl could sense that the figure behind the screen was smiling amusedly before disappearing, leaving Yoosung alone.

Based on the information provided, Yoosung could only conclude that Dokja-ahjussi had the closest location to him. If Dokja-ahjussi went to look for Cheonsa-Oppa, then Yoosung could meet him too!

A big smile spread across the young face.

[Lee Gilyoung's POV]

-when Dokja-hyung opened his arms, Gilyoung could feel a warmth welling up inside him. Immediately without hesitation, the 11-year-old boy took his place on the other side of his hyung's arm. On the other side was Cale-hyung, who had fallen asleep.

Sleepiness soon struck. Faintly, Gilyoung could hear Dokja-hyung and Heewon-noona arguing about something.

Peeking a little with half-closed eyes, Gilyoung saw Cale-hyung's face, which was now smiling a little.

"Cale-hyung...?" His whisper asked. This caused the beautiful red-haired man open his eyes slightly. A smile curved the garnett jewel and Gilyoung blushed at the warm glow it gave him.

"Let's just go to sleep," Cale-hyung whispered as if sharing a secret. Moving one hand it clasped Gilyoung's, then found the perfect position on Dokja-hyung's chest that made the dark-haired man fidget. At their side, Heewon-noona laughed cheerfully.

"Alright, rest then," grumbled Heewon-noona, sounding pleased as she enveloped them.

Dokja-hyung's hand then half-hugged Gilyoung's waist, his fingers ruffling his hair. While Cale-hyung's hand hugged Gilyoung's arm, both of their heads resting on Dokja-hyung's chest.

"Go to sleep, Gilyoung," Dokja-hyung whispered in a voice so soft it reminded Gilyoung of his father who had left. While the warmth exuded by Cale-hyung's touch also felt like his mother's.

The little boy's eyes glazed over. However, a smile remained etched on his face. Letting himself be spoiled by the embrace-

.
.
.

"-CALE-HYUNG?! DOKJA-HYUNG?!" Sobs filled the apartment that cause the boy's distress.

His eyes trembled as gilyoung watched in his blurry vision, unaware of the tightness that engulfed him. The young boy tried to break free from the false restraints, but they felt like strong handcuffs around his neck.

Hands moved to cover his ears, trying to block out ahjumma's voice that often spoke to him.

A burden.

He was just a child of burden.

Useless.

Lee Gilyoung is useless.

That's why he will be thrown in the trash.

To the place where children are thrown away by their families.

Appa and Eomma left because of him.

They died because of him-

"H-huh? A-abyss-hyung?" Gilyoung's sobs turned into small gasps. Eyes that had been dark, bereft of light now sparkled as the blue notification screen filled the pitch-black apartment.

[Constellation 'Lord of the Abyss' asks if Incarnation 'Lee Gilyoung' wants a cookie?]

At that writing, laughter somehow slipped out. Gilyoung's heart instantly lightened, realizing that his sponsor was still here, by that useless boy's side.

"W-what exactly happened?" The boy whispered, voice half broken and hoarse with tears. But his mind began to clear and the bluish glow of the dark room calmed him a little.

"I'm sure... that I was at Gwanghwamun with Dokja-hyung and the others...?" Gilyoung bit down hard on his lip, unconsciously drawing blood. The action was immediately awakened by dozens of notifications from his sponsor.

A unique way to distract him.

"W-what skill separated us all...?" He muttered in wonder. Eyes blinking tiredly, leaning against the wall of the dark room. The wall felt real, even the foul scent was an uncomfortable atmosphere. These senses slapped Gilyoung's reality that they were all separated now.

"I'm... really tired," the little boy whispered again in a trembling voice. Legs bent and arms hugging thighs. Head resting on it, staring blankly into the dark space.

Without Dokja-hyung, Cale-hyung and the others, it felt so empty and hollow. Even though the boy realized that skill had separated them, there was still a fearful side to him. That he was alone and directionless-

[Constellation 'Lord of the Abyss' said that the position of Incarnation 'Lee Gilyoung' was not far from the position of Incarnation 'Cale Henituse']

Suddenly, the notification seemed to turn on the light in the 11-year-old boy's eyes. His heart sank as he realized that he had easily forgotten the presence of that benevolent constellation. Dark brown eyes glazed over, full of gratitude for the constellation being so patient with him. A blush also began to appear on his cheeks, while a smile slowly expanded into a hopeful one.

"Really?" There was a happy buzz around the notification.

"W-well-"

[Constellation 'Demon-like Judge of Fire' breathed a sigh of relief at Incarnation 'Lee Gilyoung' and greeted him!]

The small body jerked as another holographic screen note appeared in front of her. A familiar name, as well as its trademark cheerfulness when around Dokja-hyung, Cale-hyung and the thick-browed Ahjussi.

"I-is Cale-hyung a-around?"

On the Jongno-gu side... that means it's still near Gwanghwamun? Of course it's not far since the district Gilyoung lives in, Dongdaemun-gu, is next door. Trembling legs tried to get up. Eyes turned, trying not to look at the corners of the room that became her nightmare every night.

"A-ah... I-I have to get ready," the boy muttered, feeling more energized. Not to mention that one of the constellations Dokja-hyung was friends with was here to help him! Doesn't that mean Gilyoung is needed?

Didn't that mean they were also looking for Gilyoung?

Because he's part of the group-?

[400 coins sponsored.]

It was like drinking hot chocolate. The sweetness that warmed the little boy's joints, along with the soft blush on his cheeks. Not to forget the throbbing in the heart, that the presence of 'Lee Gilyoung' was able to make someone like Cale-hyung happy.

Ugh. His eyes teared up again.

It was always like this.

When doubt struck Gilyoung's little heart, the two men were there to encourage him.

Dokja-hyung with his realistic nature.

Cale-hyung with his understanding nature.

So balanced, that Lee Gilyoung felt whole.

The two did seem to have a relationship that needed each other. But they never pushed anyone else out of the scope of their relationship. If Dokja-hyung sometimes brushed them off, then Cale-hyung would accept that brushing off with the best of hugs. That union of understanding created comfort for Gilyoung's little heart.

(Is it selfish for his children's side to exclaim that Dokja-hyung and Cale-hyung feel like parents to him?)

Sangah-noona, Hyunsung-hyung and Heewon-noona were also very kind adults to him. The three of them never forgot to include Gilyoung, Referring to him and Cale-hyung as 'children' and needing to be protected. They felt more like his family than his own blood-related family.

The realization hit Gilyoung in a wash of fragrant petals. In the darkness of his mind, their memories one by one began to stir a warm fire within him.

And... isn't there no time to mourn the past? For his father and mother who were already in heaven, and that evil aunt who was already dead? While there was already a future where everyone was looking forward to the reunion, Gilyoung was there, and ready to be welcomed?

[Constellation 'Lord of the Abyss' asks if Incarnation 'Lee Gilyoung' is ready?]

And the sponsors... also felt like his family too...

"Ready!"

It might take days to get to Jongno-gu, but the boy would persevere to prove his worth to Dokja-hyung. Eyes now bright and determined, He chuckled, feeling the power of his sponsor accompanying Lee Gilyoung's great desire.

That this little 11-year-old boy could take care of Dokja-hyung, Cale-hyung and his group when he got stronger!

Feeling the familiar power running through his senses, Gilyoung smiled sharply. Hands raised slowly, eyes staring darkly at the room of his aunt's apartment.

"Destroy this house," he whispered, still a little shaky but full of determination to his evolved pet insect. Images of his past came into view, beginning to erode in the bites of the insects. While the identical brown eyes began to glaze over. Not to forget there was a fading smile there, as if thankful and then faded along with the room.

Satisfied, Gilyoung's eyes now twinkled warmly at one of his summoned dragonflies that landed on his finger. Its wings shone strangely with a larger body size, no problem. Gilyoung would raise this insect until it grew into a beautiful fairy, his sweet spy.

"And you, please lead me to Cale-hyung."

[Lee Jihye's POV]

The dark eyes of Asian descent could not escape the two people in front of her. One was a taller, dark-haired man with a broad chest and a dazzlingly handsome face. Beside him was a smaller man with long red hair that reached his back. Pale skin, reddish-brown eyes combined with immersive facial features.

They seemed to be immersed in a discussion about the next Ruler position that needed to be eliminated.

"-what do you think, Jihye-na?" It was Heewon-eonni's nickname, but it felt so sweet when Cale-Oppa called her that.

"Focus," came her Master's voice, cold as always but Jihye didn't mind. Because that man would always be a savior in the teenage girl's eyes.

"Ah, I'll just follow your advice, Cale-Oppa. If Master agrees, so do I!" The red-haired man gave a calm gaze, observing but not judging. Jihye really liked that look.

Remembering the moment she killed her friends was broadcast by one of the Constellation channels, earned Jihye some unpleasant stares. But, it was different with Master. Cale-Oppa, Hyunsung-Oppa, and Dokja-ahjussi's group followed.

They did not judge her.

They talked to Jihye as usual. Even Sangah-eonnie spoke so softly like Hyunsung-Oppa. Heewon-eonnie who was so friendly, followed by the annoying Gilyoung and now Yoosung as her rival.

Jihye couldn't imagine how she would be if she didn't meet these people-

.
.
.

-even though her battle in one of the Theater Master's movies had overcome some of her trauma, the surreal sight of a classroom filled with the smell of dried blood and corpses of students brought a deep trauma to Lee Jihye.

Her eyes were blank, but her heart was choked. The image of her best friend smiling, accepting her death flashed. Now it was replaced by a rotting body that had been eaten by maggots. Her stomach churned and Jihye turned away from the gruesome image, spitting out empty air (she hadn't eaten all day).

Panting, Jihye couldn't move.

Eyes trembling with fear.

She was trapped.

In fear and this damn room didn't help her to breathe calmly.

Eyes tightly closed, hands clenched, sweat pouring down, and trying to breathe roughly. Slowly but surely, Jihye began to mentally calculate. Master and Cale-Oppa's voices began to wash over her mind, as well as a certain man's unique scent that slowly, soothed Jihye.

Calm.

Calmcalm-

Calmcalmcalm-

Calmcalmcalmcalmcalm-

The image of Na Bori smiling so pitifully came back and Lee Jihye sobbed. How could she be fuckin' calm?

Try explaining to her, how can she be calm when she has taken the life of jer own best friend?

("You promised her, Lee Jihye.")

Reddish-brown eyes like garnett gems accompany Na Bori's memories. A strong grip on the shoulder and a stern, serious face.

Soon, Jihye smiled a small, sad smile. Dark eyes looked back at the body of her best friend, weakly starting to walk over.

Even if Bori smiled at her, Jihye left her body here without proper rest.

Moving automatically, as if controlled, Lee Jihye then set fire to the skeletal remains. Waiting with her arms around the legs folded across her chest. The flames of fire momentarily warmed this death-filled room and the girl chuckled softly.

Even in death, Bori's fire felt so welcoming.

(The flames seemed to erode the guilt within her bit by bit.)

Jihye had no idea how much time had passed. The teenage girl then quickly collected the ashes into a jar randomly obtained in her class. Feeling settled, Jihye forced herself to turn away from the horrifying sight then moved out of the classroom as quickly as possible.

The view of the hallway was not much better. It was dark (because the weather outside was overcast), papers were scattered, windows were shattered, bodies were strewn everywhere, and dried blood was both on the walls and on the floor.

It was like entering a zombie movie or an apocalyptic theme on TV. However, reality slapped Lee Jihye repeatedly that what she was facing now was neither a dream nor a movie. She could feel the deafening silence, so eerie and cold that it chilled her to the bone. Her grip on the jar of ashes grew tighter.

Unable to contain herself, Jihye ran and jumped straight from the second floor. Then landed with a powerful thud that made cracks in the ground. Although the world had turned apocalyptic, there was a power that came with it. The jar in her hand was also safe and not cracked.

Now, where should she go?

Frustration overcame the teenager. Then confusion, annoyance, nervousness and fear mixed together in her heart.

Remembering the moment when she had been picked up by Master. But then, it was at Geumho Station after she ran from Chungmuro Station. Jihye was sure they were currently separated. The last thing she saw before the golden light consumed her was all the Incarnations, including Master, Master's younger Sister, Cale-Oppa, Dokja-ahjussi, and the others shouting at each other to stay together.

"Did that damn Dokkaebi skill move us all?" Jihye asked herself, her whispered voice of disbelief also laced with pent-up anger.

The echoes of her friends' laughter as they enjoyed recess. The teacher's scolding for being so noisy in class, or cheering on the music she turned on during free time. Then the time after school spent in the broadcasting room for karaoke, playing music, going to the internet cafe, even the arcade.

.... too many good memories were destroyed by Lee Jihye herself here.

Did that Dokkaebi skill intentionally move everything to a place that held their fondest memories?

Or their worst memories?

Jihye turned her head slowly, looking at the Daepong High School banner with an ironic smile. Even as the image of her best friend Na Bori was there, waving at her with a small smile that was so understanding. Na Bori accepting and allowing Jihye to kill her, in order to survive Main Scenario #1, would never be forgotten by her.

Hands clenched tightly on the jar and feet moved towards the chaotic streets. It showed a human civilization that had been destroyed under the hands of a foreign ruler. While the streets were silent, Jihye's mind on the other hand was noisy.

Guilt had become Jihye's daily meal in this new world. Forcing her to survive, to stay conscious, and Na Bori's face hating her often haunted her dreams. The fire of her corpse may have calmed Jihye down for a moment, but not the guilt that lingered within her.

It was like spinning in a maze endlessly. Encountering the same walls and the space became more and more suffocating for Lee Jihye.

Covered up by her laughter, menacing grin, and competitive attitude, Lee Jihye's true self was just a poor teenage girl who was scared and crying silently. And somehow, of all the people she met, Cale-Oppa was the one who saw that.

She sat silently in the park not far from the school, eyes gazing out over the dead cityscape.

[ "-Cale-Oppa?" The man who was called out turned his head. Jihye held back admiration, seeing how the red hair that looked so silky moved mesmerizingly, curling and framing Oppa's beautiful face.

"Hm?"

Biting her lip nervously, eyes peered again before turning to her toes which somehow looked more interesting.

They were currently standing on top of the Theater building. Getting ready after a good night's sleep, the best rest after fighting with the Theater Master.

In the morning, Master and Dokja-ahjussi were seen having a small discussion. Although both seemed to be disgusted with each other. If gazes could kill, both of them would have died long ago. Meanwhile, Heewon-eonnie stood at the edge of the building's parapet, as she Enjoyed the morning Seoul scenery like the rest of them in silence.

"You must have heard... what Dokja-ahjussi said when we fought at sea, right?" The red head nodded calmly.

"What... what do you think, Oppa?"

Jihye did not know why she decided to ask Cale Henituse. Call it her selfish desire, but it felt more important to get approval from this man than her own Master. Dokja-ahjussi had earned her respect, providing a picture of reality for Jihye as she battled trauma.

However, there was no doubt that Jihye was nervous about Cale's view of what she had done in the past.

"I think it's tiring to live with guilt," Cale-Oppa said After a few moments of silence. Reddish-brown eyes stared down at the ruined city, now covered in a small, sad smile.

"I prefer a more relaxed life," Cale continued. Now getting an amused snort from Heewon-eonnie.

"But... is it appropriate to want that kind of life? After... I-" -killed my own best friend...?

"I wouldn't say killing is good. But, there is always a reason behind a person's death," Cale-Oppa muttered, Seemingly talking to himself.

"What did your friend say before she died?"

Jihye's heart sank at the question, Staring silently as the garnett's eyes now turning towards her. There was no judgment there, only understanding that shook the teen's heart.

"S-she's... smiling?" Cale-Oppa hummed softly.

"And then?"

"B-bori gave me pe-permission to kill-" Cale-Oppa's hand was now on the top of her head.

"That's enough, Jihye-na." Her gaze blurred, which she realized were tears.

"It's enough," the man whispered, so soft and so understanding. Why?

Why did a man not far from Jihye's own age have such an beautiful gaze? Who understood suffering? The pain? And loss?

"Your friend is fine." A hand moved to grasp Jihye's shoulder tightly. Tenderness now fluttered with a light that confirmed her doubts.

"She left a promise for Lee Jihye, which you must keep."

"P-promise?"

Cale-Oppa nodded. His eyes looked sharp, like copper heated by fire.

"She died for you, so you must try to live for her." ]

The memory flashed like a reminder. It rekindled her resolve and all negative emotions within her vanished.

As Cale-Oppa had said in that memory, Jihye must not dirty the promise that Bori had made to her. Especially when her best friend smiled at her own death. Willing to give her life so that Jihye would survive.

Hands lifted her best friend's jar and rested her forehead against the fragile glass. With a small smile etched on the young face, she Imagined a quiet day where she could place the ashes in a quiet place, and visit with Bori's favorite flowers.

The eyes then turned sharp.

Now, was not the time to mourn trauma and the past.

This damn world was still moving forward, and Lee Jihye was here as an incarnation. Her life was threatened every second those damn main scenarios played out. So, the teenage girl tightened her fist on the sword given to her by Master.

First, she had to-

[Constellation 'God War Matirime' breathed a sigh of relief.]

[200 coins sponsored.]

[Constellation 'God War Matirime' warned Incarnation 'Lee Jihye' about the monsters in front of her.]

Eyes blinked in surprise at the constellation that had tailed her. She Felt somewhat guilty considering that he had once underestimated his own sponsor. However, it was only Jihye's fault for not realizing her field of battle, which was water. Thanks to Dokja-ahjussi, Jihye was able to unleash her full potential with the power of her sponsor.

Grunting, the teenager walked forward, Directly confronting a monster that looked like a combination of various insects.

"Watch over me, Bori-ya," the girl whispered, putting her best friend's ashes into the spatial storage.

Activating one of her strongest skills, Jihye calculated the time lag she could achieve to finish off the monster quickly. Her head buzzed with memories of Master commenting on her swordplay, or Dokja-ahjussi's voice advising her to utilize water fields wherever she was.

"If I'm at Daepong High School, then I'm at Mapo-gu." A grim face, even if the slash was able to split the ugly monster. Considering how far away her school was from the Gwanghwamun area?

"... Sponsor-ahjussi?" Awkwardly, Jihye looked up at the sky. Slightly embarrassed by the presence of the constellation flashing behind the blue hologram screen.

"Do you know who is closest to me right now?" Jihye asked, with a voice that tried to sound indifferent and cold. Just like her Master.

[Constellation 'God War Matirime' observing another Constellation.]

[Constellation 'God War Matirime' says Incarnation 'Cale Henituse' is closest.]

Jihye's eyes lit up at the information, as her eyebrows raised in astonishment. The Sponsor seemed to be paying close attention to Jihye, recognizing the Incarnation members of Dokja-ahjussi's party. Inevitably, joy and relief washed over Jihye's heart. The teenage girl was happy that her favorite Oppa, Cale-Oppa, was close to her.

Master should be fine. Blut what about Master's little sister, Yoo Mia? Hmmm seeing how such a small child could survive through the 4 Main Scenarios, she must have survived. After all, she's Master's little sister.

If it was Cale-Oppa, he would have survived. Although she chuckled later, imagining Dokja-ahjussi separated from the red-haired man. He must be frantically searching for Cale-Oppa right now, right?

Heewon-eonnie is strong, so she should survive.

As well as Sangah-eonnie, Jihye witnessed first hand how strong the woman's determination was.

Hyunsung-oppa is also strong, so there's no need to worry.

Bug boy? Well, bugs survive in their own unique way.

"Where exactly is Cale-Oppa?"

God War Matirime explained the details well, making Jihye concluded that the older man was still in Gwanghwamun. Then her Sponsor again explained that Cale-Oppa was walking towards Yongsan-gu. Was Cale-Oppa trying to go to the center of Seoul?

"I'll just go there," the teenage girl muttered again. If their destinations were the same, then they would meet, right?

Eyes gazed at the sponsor once more, giving her a small, genuine smile. She would try to appreciate this constellation well in the future.

"Thank you."

The figure behind the screen looked surprised for a moment. Then gave 200 coins as a reward. Making the teenage girl snort mockingly.

Well, at least Lee Jihye now had a firm grip to stay afloat in this crazy world.

First of all, she had to gather with her group.

Also, behind survival, isn't there a romance drama that Lee Jihye must now enjoy ?

[Third Person's POV]

"-obsessed with him?! He's not even an official character!" The eyes that were usually filled with starlight now looked dull, Looking at the coin farm he had just destroyed indifferently.

"Hey! Are you listening to me?! You-!"

"You're so noisy," grumbled the Reader, sighing and letting go of the collar of the pest he had beaten. Satisfied to see them cowering in fear at the sight of him.

"Just answer my damn question, squid head! How far have you read? Why are you so fixated on Hanibaram?! Is it because he's the boyfriend of Yoo Jonghyuk-hiiiiik! HOW DARE, YOU BASTARD-?!" the woman he saved, screeched inelegantly as she felt a sword on the right side of her neck.

"Hanibaram is not that mola-mola (sunfish) bastard's boyfriend, you plagiarizing bastard. Because of your congregation, everyone thinks Hanibaram is his DAMN LOVER when he's fuckin' NOT!"

"If it's not a lover, what is it?! Why are you so protective of him?! Is he more important than the Protagonist!?"

"Obviously! Hanibaram is a thousand times, no-millions, FUCKING' billions better than the Protagonist!"

"What's his power?! You stingy asshole!"

"What right do you have to know, motherfuck-?! AND Hanibaram is already part of MY group!"

"Damn! Share to me too! I have more information-!"

"Che, you fool shia. I know more than you, plagia-"

"ARRGHHH!!! Stop calling me that damn-!!!"

The prisoners and some coin farmers glanced at the two people who were now fighting violently. Mentioning repeated subjects such as 'Hanibaram', 'Protagonist', 'lover' and colorful expletives.

"U-um..."

"SHUT THE FUCKIN' UP!!!" The woman scolded sounding very frustrated. While the man had a glowering face, his eyes were darkened by the thick emotion of resentment.

S-so... scary.

.
.

Not far from the center of Seoul, a man with wavy black hair woke up.

Eyes black as the bottom of the dark abyss blurrily realized that he was now in a sitting position somehow.

Shaded by bangs with a blurred sense of taste, the man soon realized that he was in a familiar train, which had already been destroyed. The protagonist let the deja vu wash away his memories, soon replaced by the fact that this was no regression. Only that he was suddenly thrown back into this damn train, for some reason and how.

Then, the mind went back to remembering the moment the Prophet had hit him in the stomach. The sight of his sister's and the reddish hair faint face was the last thing he noticed before the darkness took over.

"That damn Prophet."

Hands clenched tightly on his sword as a murderous aura began to emanate horribly.

Yet a cocky, smug smile was etched, promising someone's death.

.
.
.

At the edge of a 2nd floor balcony, residing within a hotel in the middle of nowhere, the garnett-eyed man let the wind flutter his hair gently.

Memories were drenched in nostalgia— Whether in his first or second life.

The longing is suffocating, but at the same time soothing.

That we've all experienced those best moments, and made them a beautiful reminder.

A blue glow shifted his focus. Eyes framed by lush lashes saw the many holograms now surrounding him.

A smile was etched on that beautiful face.

"So, Gilyoungie is trying to get here?" Asked the man, in a soft whisper that was answered enthusiastically by the constellation.

"Then-"

Hands moved gracefully, enclosing all the screens until they filled his vision and covered the Seoul cityscape.

"-it's time to work I guess."

[Yakustk, Russia]

One of the Great Dokkaebi assigned was beginning to feel frustrated.

That no matter how fast they tried to solve this anomaly, they only met with a dead end. He had searched through all the archives, both current and ancient.

To no avail, Great Dokkaebi Haesol had found nothing about the crack they were currently watching.

"How is it, Haesol? Has there been any progress?" The pain in his head increased at that sensitive question.

"Of course not, damn it," the Dokkaebi growled, making his partner Haram sigh.

"We must prevent whatever is behind this crack from coming here, Haesol. The King Dokkaebi is also taking an interest in this case."

Now that's bad information.

"Are you sure? The King Dokkaebi?" Haram nodded, a nervous look on his face. Black-sklera eyes glanced around then dragged Haesol away from the investigation team. A soundproof barrier was also created, which meant another Great Dokakebi had very important information to convey.

"I came by direct order of The King Dokkaebi," Haram said in a meek voice, making Haesol raise his eyebrows in surprise.

"The King Dokkaebi said this crack is a 'link'." Haesol then nodded sharply. Of course, there were theories about cracks producing pathways between worlds. However, all the worlds in this universe were still under the control of the Star Stream.

Whereas this crack was an anomaly and was not registered in any Star Stream case.

"It's a 'link' to a 'new world'," Haram continued. He began to look anxious and Haesol immediately understood the gesture.

"That new world is beyond the reach of the Star Stream." Haesol's eyes widened at that information. It was frightening news and the Great Dokkaebi could imagine the uproar generated by the other constellations in the Star Stream! Not to mention, the Outer God who had always been a pest to them.

"Are you sure this isn't made up?" Haesol asked sharply, receiving a serious nod in return.

"The King Dokkaebi himself told me that, Haesol."

Both Great Dokkaebi fell silent. Haesol quickly dispelled his thoughts, wondering how the King Dokkaebi could know this information.

"So... what should we do?"

"Keep the investigation going as usual. Make sure whatever is behind the cracks does not enter here." It was the same order, only slightly tightened.

"Secondly, the crack was created because there is a link between the two." Haesol's eyes lit up with realization. That meant-

"Yes. There is another 'anomaly' that is a 'key' for the link on this planet." Haram nodded sharply. Haesol on the other hand felt an uneasy throbbing within himself. That for the few centuries he had lived, this chaos happening excited him.

The monotonous lifestyle of being a Star Stream manager and serving the damn Constellations. Haesol on the other hand, could feel the boredom without a prominent story. But, the presence of this unique case had revived him-

"So, find this 'key'. Mobilize some of the other Dokkaebi secretly to search for it so that there won't be a riot. Main Scenario #5 is about to be implemented and the planet is still too young to be destroyed by this 'anomaly'. Even the Constellations are showing more interest in this planet."

Haesol nodded again, Getting a pat on the shoulder from Haram.

"The King Dokkaebi is waiting for more information." With that, the Great Dokkaebi, who led the investigation watched Haram disappear. Approaching his team, he then gave a few orders and called some subordinate Dokkaebis for a new mission.

Then, for a moment Haesol felt himself being watched. Turning to the origin of the sight, eyes narrowed suspiciously.

The arena around the crack had been specially barricaded, so no Incarnation should have noticed it. Even if it was another scenario creature, it would be instantly detected by the Star Stream system.

Haesol tried to refocus on the archives surrounding the crack.

.... Missing the pair of heterochromatic eyes watching from afar.

More precisely on the crack that was widening and threatening the rule of the world.
