11 - An Evening with Consequences

"What?" Completely stunned, Felix found himself in Hyunjin's arms. His heart was racing as the taller one held him in this intimate embrace and showed no sign of letting go.
Felix had never expected this from Hyunjin. Yes, he had mentioned that he would be back today, but not that he would show up unannounced. After all, they were going to see each other tomorrow anyway.
They stood there for a while until Felix could no longer endure it. The warmth and scent of Hyunjin were too intense, and Felix could hardly calm his heart. So, he gently pushed Hyunjin away.

"We should go inside. Come on." He pulled Hyunjin into his apartment to avoid having to look him in the eyes. He was still shaken by the hug.

"Here you can leave your shoes, and here's a hanger for your coat," the shy one explained, offering the taller man a coat hanger. The touch of their fingers as they passed it didn't make it any easier for Felix to calm down, so he fled to the kitchen and, while standing in the entrance, explained to Hyunjin:

"I've already cooked. Do you want some? I made extra for tomorrow, but I can also get something from the cafeteria."

Even though he hadn't received an answer, Felix took a second bowl and started preparing it for Hyunjin when, suddenly, two arms wrapped around him from behind, and a warm body pressed against him.
His heart skipped a beat. This was even more unexpected than the hug at the door. His stomach was in turmoil, and the warmth on his back spread throughout his body. Felix stood there, frozen, holding the bowl and ingredients, not knowing what was happening.
What got into Hyunjin? Felix thought.

"H-Hyunjin?" he stammered, feeling the taller man exhale behind him and say,
"Jinnie, not Hyunjin, please," sending a thousand electric waves through Felix's body with his breath, which brushed his neck.

"I missed you too," Hyunjin's next words surprised Felix. He knew he had uttered those words half-asleep without any shame, but that they had affected Hyunjin so much was something he hadn't anticipated.
Sighing, Felix placed his hands on Hyunjin's arms that were still around him. He gently tapped them and asked,

"Do you want to have dinner with me?"

Felix felt Hyunjin's head nod up and down to signal a yes, and he continued with the bowl in front of him.

"Jinnie? I can't prepare your food if you're holding onto me like this," Felix shyly explained, and finally, Hyunjin let go. The squeak of a chair signaled that Hyunjin had sat down at the table.
Felix didn't like the cold left by Hyunjin's absence, but he continued on, trying not to let it show. He fried an egg and placed it on the prepared bowl.
He turned around and unexpectedly met two brown eyes, probably watching him the entire time. The intensity of the gaze, the probing eyes studying him, was too much.
Clearing his throat, Felix placed the bowl on the table and reluctantly sat down opposite his observer, avoiding eye contact. When Hyunjin still didn't make a move to take his chopsticks, Felix's gaze flicked back to Hyunjin, who was still staring at him.
"Jinnie, eat already!" Felix smiled awkwardly, taking a portion with his chopsticks and bringing it to his mouth. Finally, Hyunjin grabbed his utensils and began eating.
Somewhat reassured, Felix focused on his food. He was glad it tasted good, and Hyunjin confirmed it right away:

"Hmmm! Wow, Lixie! You cook fantastically!"

This lightened the mood, and the tension from before dissipated. Felix somehow didn't dare to ask why Hyunjin had come over so early, but he didn't mind. He was enjoying the time with him and, secretly, was happy that Hyunjin had thought to visit him first.

"Do you have any beer?" Hyunjin asked during dinner, and Felix shook his head.

"No, unfortunately not. But I can offer you some Soju?" Felix suggested and grabbed a bottle when Hyunjin agreed.
So, they ate and drank together. The atmosphere relaxed further. While doing the dishes, they joked around until they finally sat down on Felix's sofa.
Felix was curled up with pillows on one side, and Hyunjin sat cross-legged on the other, both looking at each other and chatting freely.

"You can't imagine how relieved I was when you finally called," Felix suddenly confessed. The alcohol helped him bring up more difficult topics than he would have sober.

"Hmmm... You were waiting for it?" Hyunjin asked curiously.

"Of course. After the kiss on the cheek and a promise to call, I thought I was being ghosted!" Felix pouted, which Hyunjin found more than sweet.
Hyunjin moved a little closer and lifted his hand to touch Felix's cheek, gently stroking it.

"How could I ghost someone like you, Lixie?" he said, his words as soft as his fingers that delicately caressed Felix's face.
Felix couldn't help but enjoy the touch. He tilted his head slightly to lean into Hyunjin's hand. The sheer comfort made Felix close his eyes. He felt a pleasant warmth spreading in his chest as he felt Hyunjin's gentle touch. Slowly, Felix opened his eyes to meet Hyunjin's gaze—eyes that were just as soft and tender as the touch itself. With a shy but deep smile, Felix whispered,

"I didn't know what to do. I couldn't stop thinking about you..."

His voice was almost a whisper, as though he didn't want to ruin the magic of the moment. He placed his hand gently on Hyunjin's, squeezing it slightly, as if to make the connection between them feel even more intense. He closed his eyes again.

"My heart would have broken if you had done that..." he added, snuggling even closer to Hyunjin as if he wanted to absorb the tenderness of the touch deep within.
Felix felt Hyunjin move, and his eyes snapped open. His eyes widened in surprise when he realized that Hyunjin's face was just a few centimeters away. His heart skipped a beat as Hyunjin spoke:

"I could never hurt you, Lixie."

Felix felt like he was drowning in those eyes. His heart raced again as Hyunjin's gaze moved to his lips. Felix's body responded even more strongly to the taller man.
The room seemed to grow still as their gazes met again. An intense look that pushed everything else into the background. Felix couldn't tear himself away from Hyunjin's eyes, which were so deep and full of feeling that it seemed as if they could break down every wall inside him. A barely noticeable smile appeared on Felix's lips, a smile that was both an invitation and a promise.
Slowly, almost hesitantly, Hyunjin moved closer, leaning toward the blonde. The distance between them shrank, and the space around them seemed to thicken. Felix's heart beat even faster as he felt Hyunjin's warmth, which was so intense he could feel it on his skin. The look they shared was everything—no words, no sound, just silent agreement.
With a quiet breath, Hyunjin closed the final distance between their lips. His eyes flicked to Felix's one last time, looking for an answer, a final, silent sign that the moment was right. Felix's hand instinctively found the back of Hyunjin's neck, pulling him closer as his eyes closed almost automatically, and their lips met.
The kiss started tenderly, almost cautiously, as if both were getting lost and found at the same time. Time seemed to stop as they became more and more intertwined, the kiss deepening and intensifying as all the pent-up feelings exploded in this single moment.
Felix pulled Hyunjin even closer, wanting to feel his warmth. He fell back against the armrest of the sofa, taking Hyunjin with him. Hyunjin hovered above him, propping himself up to avoid putting all his weight on the smaller one. He reached into the blonde hair as their kiss continued. Their breath came in short bursts, their lips moved sensually against each other. A faint hint of Soju accompanied the kiss, making them both want to get even closer. But the pillow Felix had been holding earlier lay between them, forcing them to keep a little distance.
A light pressure from Felix made Hyunjin stop immediately, and they looked at each other, breathless. Hyunjin thought he had made a mistake, misunderstood Felix, but when Felix smiled, he couldn't help but return the smile.

"I—I... wow," Felix whispered, trying to sit up. Hyunjin immediately backed off, giving Felix his space. The intense moment between them was still palpable, but both knew that if they didn't stop here, they would go much further.
Felix didn't feel ready for that yet. Of course, he wanted Hyunjin to kiss him even more, but he also didn't want to rush things and wanted to give their blossoming feelings room before the wave of passion overwhelmed them.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to—"

"When will you learn not to apologize all the time?" Felix interrupted Hyunjin with a smile, cuddling into him.

"I just don't want things to move too fast..." Felix explained. Hyunjin stroked the blonde's hair and kissed his crown.

"I completely understand. I don't want that either," the taller one replied, pulling Felix into a tighter hug.

"Jinnie?" Felix asked shyly, unsure how to ask his next question without it being misunderstood.
"Are you sleeping here tonight?" Felix quickly asked, hiding his face in Hyunjin's shoulder. Hyunjin gently cupped his chin, forcing him to look into his eyes.

"Of course, if you want me to," he replied softly, tucking a strand of hair behind Felix's ear.
"But wh—"

"No sex. Understood?" the taller one winked and raised his hands defensively. This made Felix smile.

"But you'll need to lend me something to sleep in," Hyunjin grinned, planting a soft kiss on Felix's lips, making Felix blush.

...

Finally, they lay together in Felix's bed, cuddled closely. Felix felt like a little child experiencing Christmas and his birthday at the same time. His endorphins were going crazy, and it was all because of the person beside him. Smiling, Felix snuggled deeper into Hyunjin's arm. Despite wearing the borrowed T-shirt, he could smell Hyunjin's scent everywhere and enjoyed the warmth that made him sleepier.

"Goodnight, Lixie," Hyunjin whispered softly, giving him another kiss on the crown.

"Goodnight, Jinnie," Felix yawned, and almost instantly, he fell asleep.
