"Hidden Energy Magic: Celestial Energy Key Bind!"
The world went silver as the light flooded her senses, before it disappeared and everything went dark. She stood alone in the darkness, not moving, eyes narrowed and sweeping around slowly, trying to make sense of the black.
"Tch... Beat him..." A voice hissed, clearly weak and full of pain and Frea closed her eyes, recognizing the voice as Solana's.
"The very large Magic Source stretching across the clouds? More than half of Fiore saw it..." Nadi's voice echoed around the space suddenly, and Frea opened her eyes halfway.
"... Magic Phenomenon... Powerful... Amazing..."
Frea let out a low sigh when the voices echoed around her. She herself still couldn't believe so many people had seen the spell go off...
"That... That's impossible..." Moon's voice whispered around her and she blinked.
She hadn't the slightest clue why she was dreaming about this, or why she could only hear the people's voices around her, instead of see them. She narrowed her eyes when a sudden large amount of orange and blue light shone in the darkness, and she blinked in surprise to see a picture appear in the air before her.
It was that same drawing she had seen in the 'Energy Magic' book. Half of it was the sun, illuminated in orange light, while the other half of it was the moon, illuminated in blue light as the two met in the middle.
This was the symbol that had been on the front of the page that showed me the Hidden Magic Spell...
"But why am I seeing it now?" She asked aloud. "I have no clue what was written underneath!" She muttered, but no answer came as the symbol just blazed silently in front of her. She tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowing. "Am I missing something here...?"
Slowly, the blue light began to stretch over to the orange, and swallow it up, as the moon half of the symbol started to destroy the sun part of it. When the sun half was completely gone, the blue light of the moon turned a deep red, and Frea took a step back when she heard liquid hit the floor, dripping off of the symbol.
She looked down and stared wide-eyed when the scent hit her nose, it was blood.
Blood... Why the hell is there blood?! What the hell does this mean?!
The level of the blood began to rise fast, licking at her body as it started to engulf her, as she tried to squirm free of the warm sticky liquid. She gagged a little as the reek of it hit her nose, and it started to rise up above her neck.
The symbol had disappeared, but the darkness was being lit up in dark red light from some source she couldn't see. Her eyes went wide when a large wave of the blood rose up in front of her, and she couldn't do anything as the wave of blood crashed down on top of her head.
.:+:.
Frea jerked awake when something heavy landed on top of her with a loud thump, and she heard something else hit the floor beside the bed she was in. The room was dark, the curtains over the window shut to block any light that may be trying to get in.
She slowly sat up and stared astonished, to see that a certain old, heavy leather book had somehow managed to land on top of her. She couldn't process it at first, the book had been in her bag in Magnolia, she had sent it there before the fight against the Dragons...
Glancing to the right, she saw that her bag was on the floor.
How... How in the hell did it get here...?
She slowly reached a hand forward and placed it on the cover of the book, eyes narrowing. She could only think of one way it had come to be here, it must have sent itself back here, to Crocus...
"... What do you want...?" She murmured, but the book didn't do anything and she sweatdropped. She could still smell the blood from her dream, and although her skin was free of it, she still felt as if she was soaked with it.
A soft snore caused her to look over and see Moon fast asleep, curled up on her pillow. She was faintly surprised the Exceed hadn't woken up when the book hit the bed, but she was silently glad she hadn't.
How the hell would she go about explaining this book to Moon, if she didn't even know what it was exactly, or what it could do?
She curled her fingers over the edge of the cover, and opened it slowly, flipping toward the page with the sun and moon symbol on it. It looked exactly the same as it had before, and she felt a little disappointed that nothing had changed.
Why would this stupid book come back, but not have anything new to show her?
"What do you want from me?" She muttered, but again there was no answer and she sighed softly. "Oh great... I'm talking to a book now..."
.:+:.
"I told you.. It doesn't suit me..." Kagura muttered, arms crossed over her chest with a very exasperated expression.
The Mermaid Heel members around her shook their heads and smiled, "Ah, don't say that Kagura, you look pretty!"
Kagura didn't seem satisfied with the answer though. There were several people looking her way in utter surprise, and a few of the men were even drooling with hearts in their eyes. They were in the great hall of the castle, it was packed with the wizards that had fought against the Dragon's, as they all milled around, eating, drinking, laughing and conversing.
Everyone was dressed in regal clothes and outfits, it being almost mandatory that they dress 'properly'.
"I know how you feel..."
Kagura's eyes switched to the left to see Frea standing by with a very disgusted look on her face, a bead of sweat rolling down her face. Her arms were crossed over her chest with her eyes closed.
Kagura smiled a little once she saw Frea, feeling a bit better not to have been the only one unwillingly pulled into something she didn't want to wear.
The reason Frea looked so disgusted, was due to the fact she was wearing a dress. One, she had been forced into by Erza and Cana.
It was a pale blue dress that stopped at her mid-thigh with white frills and lace on the ends, and on the top of a wide low cut neckline, where the sleeves fell off her shoulders, and reached past her elbows, flowing out at the bottom, but tied at the top of some thin string. Around her neck, a white ribbon had been tied into a bow, and she was wearing some pale blue sandals. The dress hugged her figure nicely, before flowing out toward the bottom a little, just passed her hips.
Her hair had been tied up into a ponytail, her hair being curled at the ends, where a blue ribbon had been tied around her head with some of her hair left out to fall around her face.
She didn't look happy in slightest, and the whistling she could hear come from some of the surrounding men at the sight of her, did nothing to improve her mood.
"Oh Frea, come on girl, you look great!" Cana told her in a cheery tone as the brunette appeared beside Frea, mug in hand, and hugged her with one arm. Frea shot her a dirty look but Cana ignored it, "Now, are you sure you didn't dye your hair? There's more silver in it then there was last time."
Frea had always had the tips of her hair silver in color, and they had only ever covered and inch or two. But now, the silver color had stretched up another two inches in the three months she had been out training, something that hadn't gone unnoticed by most of her fellow Guild-Mates, though Cana seemed to be the only person interested in it.
A vein ticked on Frea's forehead and she let out a low growl, "For the last time, I don't dye my hair!" She snapped but Cana didn't look convinced.
"If you don't, how else is it silver? There's no way that's natural." The brunette asked, beginning to twirl a piece of Frea's hair in her fingers a little, and Frea let out a low sigh.
"Its a result of my Magic," She muttered. "I can't help it, its just there." For a minute, silence passed between the two of them as Cana eyed her up and down, looking skeptical, before she grinned widely.
"Whatever, I need some more booze..." Cana smiled as she walked off and Frea shook her head at the woman as she left. She glanced toward Kagura and smiled.
"Kagura!" They both looked away to see Erza walking toward them, the red-head cast Frea a smirk as she passed her, and Frea only glared in return, before Erza looked back to Kagura. "How are your wounds healing?" The red-head asked of the Mermaid Heel Mage as she stopped beside them.
"I could ask the same of you." Kagura answered cooly.
"Much has happened between us, but can't we be friends?" Erza asked, "We are from the same village after all..."
"No." Kagura murmured and both Frea and Erza blinked. "My... Sister, is more pleasant..." Kagura mumbled, looking away and blushing from embarrassment. Frea smirked, and so did Erza as she grabbed Kagura and hugged her to her chest a little roughly.
"Sheesh.. Stop being so cute." Erza chuckled, the action only causing Kagura's face to turn bright red. Frea chuckled a little along with the other Mermaid Heel woman standing by, though she did notice that Millianna wasn't laughing.
"Millianna, stop sulking already." Erza ordered as her attention snapped to said Mage. Erza let go of Kagura and pulled the top of her dress up a bit, "It can't be helped." Erza smiled and lifted Happy up in front of Millianna, "Here!"
"I'm super Happy!" Happy grinned and Millianna immediately perked up, before she stubbornly frowned at Erza.
"Here you go." Erza told her, suddenly holding Lily and Carla in her arms too. Millianna jumped toward Erza and snatched them out of her arms, grinning widely as she looked at them with heart-filled eyes.
"So many kitties!"
Frea smirked and glanced over her shoulder, "Moon!" She called, and her Exceed partner appeared from the crowd, head tilted as she walked toward her.
Moon had been put into a grey dress with black frill at the ends, and black stockings with black gloves reaching up to her shoulders. Carla had been the one to pick out an outfit for Moon, and had tied a black ribbon on to her tail, and placed a black bow next to her ear.
Whether or not Carla had seen Moon's scars, she didn't know, but she doubted Moon would have allowed Carla to see them.
"Hmm?" Moon murmured, but suddenly let out a yelp of surprise when Frea picked her up from the ground, and stepped in front of Millianna.
"Here you go Millianna!" Frea told her with a cheery tone, and Moon sweatdropped when she noticed that all three of the other Fairy Tail Exceeds were being smothered by the woman. Millianna smiled wider and grabbed Moon, hugging her along with Happy, Lily, and Carla to her chest.
"Frea!" Moon complained, but she only gave her a wicked grin in return.
"This is for not helping me out at Ryuzetsu Land." Frea told her in a low almost creepy tone, that caused the other Exceeds in Millianna's arms to sweatdrop, but Moon only glared not seeming bothered by the tone.
"Happy, where's Natsu?" Erza asked.
"I have no idea." Happy replied and Frea tilted her head slightly. She had notice that Natsu seemed to be missing, but she could tell he was around here somewhere...
She shook her head and turned away from Millianna, casting Moon another evil smirk before disappearing.
"FREA!" Moon's voice yelled out behind her, but she ignored it.
She stopped by a table full of food, and grabbed a particularly great looking cookie from the top, sighing in content as she none to 'lady-like' put the whole thing in her mouth.
"Frea?"
She blinked upon hearing the voice right behind her. She slowly finished chewing her food, before turning and crossing her arms over her chest. Gray, Gajeel and Levy were standing behind her, looking a bit stunned as they stared. All three of them were wearing the fancy clothes everyone else was... you know what, scratch that, Gray was only wearing half of his suit, the coat and shirt had disappeared long ago.
"What are the looks for?" She asked lowly, though she was sure what the issue was.
"You look... Like a girl." Gajeel grumbled and a vein ticked on her forehead.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" She snapped, hitting him on top of the head. He let out a hiss of pain, and glared at her.
"Gajeel!" Levy shouted. "That was very rude of you!" She scolded, and the Iron Dragon Slayer let out a huff.
"What he means to say is... you look different." Gray told her slowly, choosing his words carefully as she eyed him dangerously. "The last time you wore a dress, was at the Harvest Festival." He added and she let out an aggravated growl.
"Yeah, yeah I know..." She hissed. "I was forced to wear this though. I would much rather not be here." She muttered, fangs grinding down on each other a little.
"Where did this come from?" Another deep voice asked, and she stiffened a little when a finger tapped her left shoulder lightly, the action causing her to sweatdrop. She turned around to see Laxus standing there, women hanging all over him and swooning. He had a neutral expression on, though she couldn't help but feel the surprised emotions dancing off of him in that moment.
She pushed it to the back of her mind for now.
She knew what he was talking about, there was a fresh scar running over the top of her left shoulder, it was new, as of two days ago.
"Got it from that Dragon I was fighting." She murmured, eye twitching a little in annoyance when the woman hanging off Laxus kept murmuring stupid things while they swooned over him.
"Where's Rified?" Gray asked, causing her to turn back to him, and she didn't miss the growl in his voice.
"He left already." She replied calmly. "He never planned on staying long."
Gray seemed satisfied with the answer, and suddenly was pulled away by Juvia as she appeared, and they disappeared into the crowd. Levy and Gajeel walked off not long after, Levy looking thrilled to be here, while Gajeel just looked utterly bored.
"Seen Natsu?" Laxus asked and she shrugged.
"No, but he's here somewhere, I can feel it." She mumbled. She could also feel that Chase was somewhere in the crowd, with Jynx close by. She wondered what the two might be taking about, but at the moment she didn't have time when she noticed there were several eyes on her, including two Dragon Slayer's she didn't exactly like. "What do you want?" She asked in a low tone, turning to face the two men that had been walking toward her slowly.
It was Sting and Rogue, and both of them came to a dead-stop when she saw them, both sweatdropping but they managed to keep neutral expressions.
"We wanted to say, thank you." Sting murmured and she blinked, tilting her head slightly.
"What for?" She asked,
"For casting the spell on us during the battle." Rogue told her and she blinked once more.
"That's right." Their heads turned to see Jura walking toward them, arms crossed over his chest. "Everyone's been wondering what that was." He said with a meaningful look at Frea.
"You promised to explain it." The Trimens said as they suddenly appeared and Frea sweatdropped a little to see more people begin to surround her.
"We already waited two days for an explanation." Lyon told her. "What better time then now?"
Two days... Oh yeah, I slept for two full days after the fight... I remember now...
Frea sweatdropped a bit more, there were a lot of people here. She really wasn't one for crowds on most days, and she really wasn't one to talk with people she really didn't know... Unless she was making threats in a fight she supposed.
She had met all of these people once or twice before of course, but she had never bothered to really get to know them, to be honest, she really only knew their names.
She was familiar with Blue Pegasus, knew all their members, talked more than once with them. Mermaid Heel she hardly knew at all. Quatro Cerberus and SaberTooth she was less familiar with, and Lamia Scale... To be honest, the one person she had talked with the most in that Guild, would have to be Jura.
But even then... She sort of knew all of them in a way, just not well. Perhaps she should work on creating better relations with the other Guilds...
Maybe later... Anyway, I suppose I did tell them I would explain the Spell I cast on them...
Her eyes swept over them all, she had gathered plenty of the Hall's attention now. They were all watching her intently, and she was fairly sure that the Guild Master's were listening as well. She supposed that if she didn't explain it now... Master Makarov would have wanted to know sooner or later.
No One POV
"Alright... Alright..." She murmured, letting out a low sigh. "So.. Lets start with why." She murmured, leaning up against the table behind her as silence fell over the section of the hall they were in. "The Dragon I went up against was named Naraka, the Death Dragon." She started slowly. "There was one point in the fight... Where many of you.. Died." She told them quietly, and they all sweatdropped.
Some of them remembered it, seeing the visions of themselves dying. Gray looked to the floor, and Lyon did too, Juvia closed her eyes. Jet and Droy exchanged glances, as did Romeo, Macao and Wakaba.
Chase sweatdropped from where he stood in the back of the crowd, Jynx standing next to him with a serious expression.
Though there was on thought that flashed through all their minds, how in the hell had Frea known they all died?
"Naraka gains more power when Human's die within range of him." Frea continued, "But at the very moment he did, time rewound, and thankfully, nobody died the second time around." She said with a small smile, looking quite relieved at the thought. "I had a choice, I could fight him and hopefully he wouldn't gain more power by human deaths while I did, or, I could make sure nobody died for awhile, and guarantee that I would have time before he gained a boost."
She looked up from the floor, to look at all of them, smile fading as she fixed them all with a neutral stare. "So, I decided the best thing to do, was to cast the spell on all of you."
"What is it exactly?" Sherry asked.
Frea tapped a finger to her chin and glanced toward the roof, trying to come up with an answer. "A sort of... Protection Spell, I suppose you could call it." She murmured. "But in this instance, I didn't use it to protect any of you... Just aid you." She looked back down at them. "I only wanted to give you an extra boost to keep fighting." She smiled a bit, "It looks like it worked."
"How was she able to cast it on every one of us? There are hundreds of us..." Eve murmured.
"The amount of power used for the Spell must have been vast... She couldn't have had enough, all the data I have on her doesn't suggest it..." Hibiki mumbled under his breath, to low for Frea to possibly hear.
"You might need to update your Archives then, Hibiki." Frea chuckled and his eyes snapped to her, shocked she had heard any of what he said. She was smiling at him, and he sweatdropped when several people turned their eyes on him.
"What did you say?" Eve asked. Hibiki stayed silent for a moment though, and Frea chuckled a little more.
"Go on, might as well tell everyone." She told him and he sighed.
"...For a Spell that size, Frea must have used a vast amount of Magic Energy to cast it, and even more to give us Power." He explained. "But based on the data I have on her, she couldn't possibly have enough Magic Energy to cast a Spell of that magnitude and range."
Everyone blinked, Hibiki wasn't usually wrong when it came to his data, and as they let what he said sink in, they realized it made sense.
The Fairy Tail members were the most shocked to be honest. On a regular day, Frea was strong, and even then the idea she might cast a Spell with that much power and range, was unlikely. But on that day? The day after she had had her Magic Energy Stolen? And in the very same fight, she had given up a very large amount of her power to protect Fairy Tail when Atlas Flame first showed up. It couldn't be possible for her to have been able to cast her 'Protection Spell'!
Frea smiled a little more at their shocked faces, "Normally you'd be right." She told him. "This time, was a bit different."
"How so?" Rogue asked.
"Usually, with a Protection Spell like that, even used as an Aid Spell, the caster gives up their own power to the person or people they are casting the spell on." Master Makarov spoke up an everyone looked to him, once they noticed him in the front row of the crowd that had gathered.
"With that in mind, Frea would have been giving us her Magic Energy." Master Bob continued. Several people's jaws dropped, and their eyes grew wide and whited out, while a few of them managed to keep a calm face.
That would mean all of the power that had been given to all of the Mages would have come from Frea herself!
Frea nodded a bit as she took in all their shocked faces, and clasped her hands in front of her. "That's right." She murmured.
"No way!"
Frea blinked once at the shocked yells and shouts that had been let out after the explanation. She tilted her head a little, she understood their shock she supposed...
"How in the hell could you have been able to-?" Gray stammered, but broke off when Frea raised a hand, giving them a slightly embarrassed look.
"You didn't let me finish." She mumbled and they blinked. She let out a low sigh,
"I cheated."
Her words were met with an eery silence as all of them took in what she said, it seemed that all the color drained from them as they just stared. Everyone besides the Guild Master's looked utterly shocked, even Rogue's poker face had been destroyed by those two words.
"Wha...?"
"Ah come on, you honestly think there's any chance I could have given you guys all my Power?" She asked. "I mean seriously, do you have any idea how hard just casting the spell and locking on to all of you was? There's no way in hell I had enough to give to you!" She let out a chuckle at the thought, it was crazy to be honest, to even consider the possibility, and she was the one thinking this of herself.
But they only kept on staring with wide whited out eyes and dropped jaws. She was finding it a little amusing, because she started laughing at their expressions. "Honestly... Your faces are priceless!" She chuckled. "Let me explain..." She took in a deep breath and straightened up. "When I say I cheated, I sort of broke the... Ah... 'Rules'.. " she explained, crossing her arms over her chest. "...of the spell. Instead of channeling my Magic Energy into all of you, I channeled the Energy of the Land into you." She told them, "It was a bit harder than I thought it would be, but it worked out pretty well if I do say so myself." She added with a smirk.
The crowd of Mages didn't look like they could hardly believe it. The Land? Was that possible? Does the Land even have Magic Energy?!
Chase smiled a bit as he let his eyes close, he was impressed, Frea always found some way to impress him he supposed. Controlling and bending the Land's Magic Power wasn't easy in the slightest.
Beside him, Jynx was smiling a little as she listened to what Frea had to say.
"You can do that?" Several people asked and Frea nodded.
"Yep." She smiled.
"Impressive." Jura told her with a smile and she nodded a little at him, looking genuinely pleased with what he said. It wasn't often a Wizard Saint praised you after all.
"Thanks." She replied earnestly.
Many people had begun to voice their own approval, thanks and praise for what she had done, and honestly, she really only became a little flustered with it. Frea wasn't used to being praised by others, and she was grateful for the momentary distraction a certain Script Mage caused next.
"What was the name of the Spell?" Levy asked, and Frea looked to her. Levy always seemed curious when Frea's Magic was brought up, and why wouldn't she be? Levy, being the bookworm she was, always liked to learn more of several different topics. And a topic such as Energy Magic, which information on it was rare, was always interesting to her.
"Divened Protere uf ve Enogora Magion." Frea answered calmly. Everyone's heads tilted a little at the name, and a few of the Dragon Slayer's eyes widened. They recognized that language, though they had no clue as to what she said.
"That's... The Dragon Language, isn't it?" Levy murmured and Frea nodded. "Oh, that's amazing Frea! How much of it do you know? What does it mean in English?"
Frea gave Levy a smile as se chuckled at the small Mage's enthusiasm. "I don't know too much, Levy. If you want, we can talk about it later." She added, causing Levy to nod vigorously, looking very excited. "Now... For what it says in English..." She trailed off, going in to deep thought.
"Umm... Divine Protection of the Energy Mage..." She explained.
"WHAT?!"
Frea and everyone in the crowds jumped at the sudden outburst from the back, and a line parted to reveal Chase standing there with wide eyes. Frea sweatdropped at the reaction,
"Uh..." She murmured.
"But... There's no way in hell that Spell should have worked on me!" He told her and she sighed.
"Oh... That's what your yelling about...?" Frea sighed. "I altered it, calm down kid..."
His shock was understandable, and he was right. That Spell would not work on any other Energy Mage's, it should not have worked on Chase, and yet it did. He looked dumbfounded though, she... Altered it...? His mind couldn't wrap around the idea, she just found more and more ways to surprise the hell out of him...
Everyone else was looking rather confused, and Frea let out a low sigh. She didn't feel like explaining any more to them, she had explained enough already. She clapped her hands in front of her and smiled, "Alright, I think that's enough! Lets get back to the Party, shall we?!" She called out, and was met with wide smiles.
"Alright!"
She let out a low sigh as they started to walk away and disperse, and she looked to Chase, who was still looking at her.
I promise... I'll answer all of your questions later...
Laxus POV
Laxus stayed absolutely still as all the other Mage's started to walk away, removing their attention from Frea as they returned to the festivities. There were still women hanging off of him, but he couldn't care less about them.
His eyes were still fixed on Frea, and by now her back was turned to him. He was surprised, shocked... Maybe a little impressed...
Hmm... I never knew she was so powerful... She sure has changed since we were younger...
His eyes slowly traced over that spiral scar on her shoulder-blade, her dress doing nothing to hide it, along with the newer one. He faintly wondering if she was ever bothered by what happened with Kasumi... Though he pushed the thought away, of course she wasn't bothered by it, he would have noticed by now if she was.
Then his eyes swept up to land on the new scar stretching over the top of her left shoulder. It must have been pretty bad, to actually leave a scar with all the healing she must have gotten from Wendy and that Chelia kid.
And it was, he remembered what she had looked like coming back from her fight. She had been bloody, exhausted, she had looked half-dead. It wasn't all surprising she had received a new scar from the experience, he just didn't like the idea that Frea couldn't defeat her Dragon.
It was this thought, that was bothering him so much. He was a Dragon Slayer, and he hadn't been able to take his own Dragon down. What did that say about him? Or any of the other Dragon Slayers for that matter?
None of the others had taken their Dragon's down either, and he wondered if any of them were as angry about it as he was. He sort of assumed Frea was, they were similar in that retrospect, always wanting to win, no matter what the enemy...
He turned away and started walking, the random women hanging all over him following, it really didn't matter right now, nor did he particularly care, he was already bored of being at this damn party...
Frea POV
"Energy Dragon." Jynx walked up to her slowly, smiling a little and Frea blinked.
"Hmm?"
"I would like to applaud you." Jynx murmured. "You have accomplished so much in the course of a week or two, its impressive." She smiled and Frea blinked. "Your growing stronger and stronger, even faster than I've ever seen anyone progress. I look forward to seeing just how strong you become." She smiled a bit more, and Frea couldn't help but blush a little at the words.
She had never heard Jynx talk to her like that, it was shocking... But it also made her smile too.
"Thanks, Jynx." She smiled, and Jynx nodded, walking away to join Mavis by the food table. Considering no one looked the Spirit Mage's way, Frea could safely assume that Jynx was keeping herself hidden from the other Mages outside of Fairy Tail. Her eyes swept around the hall to take in everyone. They were all smiling and enjoying themselves... their sprits had considerably risen since the fight against the Dragons, and whatever tenseness that had been between them during the GMG seemed to have disappeared for now.
Too bad, she had the feeling this peace between all the Mages from the different guilds, wouldn't last for long.
