Rified looked back and forth at Frea, quirking an eyebrow as they raced along. The city was already pretty destroyed, and they were dodging in and out of the destroyed buildings and streets, occasionally quickly knocking away any of the smaller Dragon's that came across their path. They did pass a few of the other Wizards fighting in the city, but Frea never slowed down as she kept running, eyes fixed on a path ahead. She seemed to know exactly where she was going, an he sighed silently.

They were going after a Dragon, and he had already seen how powerful Atlas Flame was. But Frea... She had managed to amaze him... Everyone had seemed to freeze when Atlas Flame first showed up, and the only one who had thought of anything to do, had been her.

She had put up that massive shield in seconds, and even more amazingly, she had kept it up as it was being hit with Atlas Flame's attack.

I can't believe she actually blocked it... She saved all our asses... And she's going after another Dragon now...

He sweatdropped a little and looked away from her, correction, they were going after a Dragon, though Frea seemed fairly sure she would be the only one fight against it. Though... He was a little confused as to who she had been talking to, not to long ago... The Gajeel fellow too... All of Fairy Tail actually.

They had seemed to he talking to someone who wasn't there, but he shook his head at the thought, he didn't have time to figure it out right now.

He slowed down as Frea came to a stop in a rather deserted part of the city after a close to fifteen minutes of running, her silver eyes sweeping over the ruin around them. He became wary, he could feel it, and he sweatdropped to realize this is what she had been looking for.

It was powerful, huge, lets face it, he wasn't an Energy Mage, and even he was feeling it, and he knew what it was.

There was a Dragon around here, but what shocked him the most, was the familiar Magic that he could feel around them. It was his Magic, well, Death Magic to be more precise...

"Hehe..." Low, deep chuckling caused them all to straighten up and look around carefully. "Perogh... Perogh... Zi oghk ginre whun da ze..." His eyes narrowed in confusion, and he looked to Frea, who sweatdropped a little, looking to be deep in thought.

He hadn't ever heard anything speak in that language before, and Moon was looking rather confused to, but the Exceed's eyes shifted to Frea too, as if she was waiting for the Dragon Slayer to say something.

"Ginre... Ginre...?" Frea murmured under her breath, so low he almost didn't catch it. Her eyes widened and she sweatdropped a bit more, before narrowing her eyes. She peered up into the night sky, and he looked up to, blinking upon seeing the mass of dark shadow sweeping through the air silently, circling above their heads.

"We're not here to become your next meal." Frea growled up at the mass. Rified stared at her, had she somehow known what that Dragon had said...?

Again the low chuckling could be heard, and the mass of dark shadow swooped down toward the ground in front of them. It was huge, and it materialized as soon as it got close to the ground. All three of them stiffened at what appeared.

This is going to be much harder than she might have thought...

Before them, a huge Dragon materialized from the mass of shadow, standing at least half-a-story higher than Atlas Flame, with scales a pure black color. The Dragon's muscles rippled under its scaly skin, and its massive claws dug into the destroyed street under it. It's tail stretched out behind it, the top littered with black razor sharp spikes.

The Dragon had a long, narrow head with ripped and torn ears stretching down on either side of it's head, its yellow stained teeth poked out from underneath his lips, as he smirked at them, deep green eyes set upon the three. Black spikes stretched down from the the forehead, down its short neck, and its back toward the tail. Connected to its back, were massive wings, that hung around its body like black curtains, ripped and frayed at the bottom with numerous holes an tears in the middle of the wings.

Their eyes set upon some kind of rope, that hung around the Dragon's neck. But there were numerous human skulls hanging from the rope, and the bones rattled as the Dragon moved.

"You understood what I said...?" The Dragon asked lowly, eyes narrowing at the three, but fixed on Frea specifically. "Interesting... I didn't think any humans in this time would even know of the Language's existence..."

The bones around the Dragon's neck knocked against one another as the Dragon took in a deep breath, and its hot breath hit their faces. They stopped themselves from gagging, his breath literally smelled of... Death...

"What you said, is incorrect, however." The Dragon growled lowly. "You sought me out, and no human leaves my sight, no human ever gets away from me." His lips curled back into a snarl. "Your souls will fill me... No Human who ever sees me, lives."

Their eyes widened as the Dragon straightened up to his full height, and its front legs lifted from the ground, the massive claws scraping against the stone as he lifted up. "Your souls will spend eternity in hell, for you have met The Grim Reaper himself!"

"I am Naraka, The Lord of Death!"

Frea POV

Frea sweatdropped when the Dragon lifted up into the air, and started to suck in air. "Move!" She ordered, looking to both Rified and Moon, and they split up immediately. Naraka let out an ear-piercing roar, and a very concentrated and powerful force of black Magic shot down to destroy the place where they had been standing before. Rubble was sent flying and Frea stifled a wince as some of the pieces of debris scratched her skin.

This may be harder than I thought...

Naraka dove down toward the ground again, and the earth shook as he met it. Wind picked up from his landing, and Frea's eyes widened as Naraka lunged toward Rified, fangs bared.

"I don't think so!" She hissed and jumped forward, bringing a clenched fist back. "Energy Dragon's Iron Fist!" Her fist made contact with the side of Naraka's head, and knocked him away before he could touch Rified. "Are both of you alright?" She called behind her, coming to a pause, her back facing her friends, eyes fixed on Naraka as he let out a low growl.

"Fine.." Rified murmured.

"I'm alright too." Moon's voice spoke up and Frea looked back to Naraka.

"Good. Here come the smaller ones." She growled, and as if on cue, the smaller Dragons appeared and set their sights on the three Wizards. "You two take care of them, be careful."

"You got it!"

Naraka lifted his head again and fixed a furious glare on Frea, and she just glared back. "You little..." He growled.

"Your fight is with me." She told him lowly. "It's my job, as a Dragon Slayer..." Her Magic began to rise up around her. "To Take You Down!"

She spun on her toe and extended and arm, "Energy Dragon Wave Attack!" She yelled as she sent several large waves of her silver Magic out toward Naraka. Her Magic sliced through the air at an amazing speed, and hit Naraka dead on.

Her eyes narrowed when she realized, that attack hadn't seemed to do anything to the Dragon.

"Do you really plan on fighting me with such weak attacks?" Naraka hissed.

Frea let out a low growl, and jumped out of the way of Naraka's tail as it swung out toward her, and the spikes easily sliced through the building next to her.

Grim Reaper... The Lord of Death... I sure can pick um' can't I?

Frea thought with an inward sigh and swept he gaze over Naraka, desperately trying to come up with something to do. She had never expected to find herself in a situation like this, actually fighting a Dragon.

Honestly, what had they been able to do against Acnologia? Nothing, and now she was facing a Dragon of Death...

She clenched her fists and jumped away from Naraka's tail again, she couldn't start doubting herself now, she had to defeat him! And it looked like she would need to put all her effort forward.

For the next few minutes, she attacked Naraka with several different attacks, and she did her best to dodge the attacks that Naraka sent at her. Coming to a pause, 25 minutes in, she panted. Her clothes were beginning to be destroyed, her body was bruised and cut. She had taken off her cloak and stuffed it in her bag earlier, sending it, along with everything inside of it to her room in Magnolia before the Dragons appeared.

This was proving to be a lot harder than she had imagined it would be...

She leaned back a little and sucked in air, narrowing her eyes as she put more Magic into the attack this time.

"Energy Dragon Roar!"

A huge spinning silver tornado of magic cut through the air toward Naraka, engulfing the Dragon in it's center, and destroying the buildings behind him. Naraka let out a snarl in the midst of the attack, and after a moment his wings opened up and sliced through her Magic as he lifted up into the air, glaring down at her from the air.

He let out a deafening roar, and his black Magic shot from his mouth down toward her. Frea lifted her arms above her head and closed her eyes, Naraka was right above her, there was no way she could get out of the way in time to dodge the Breath Attack.

"Energy Dome!" She yelled as the silver dome sprung up around her, and she trembled as the Death magic engulfed her and her shield completely. She had to keep it up...

She flinched as she heard the dome crack, and sweatdropped when it cracked again.

Tha Breath Attack engulfed Frea completely, and a wave of force spiraled out around where the Death Magic had hit her. For a split second, Moon, Rified, and the smaller Dragons were knocked over from the sheer force of it.

Their eyes widened in utter shock, when they realized Frea had been caught directly under that attack.

"Frea?!" They called out as the attack ended and the dust began to clear away. To their sheer amazement, the dust cleared to travels Frea standing inside a nearly shattered dome of her Magic.

The dome fell away as it broke, and Frea fell to her knees, head hanging and hands on the ground. They didn't have time to see if she was ok, as their attention turned back to the monsters they were fighting.

Frea gasped for air as she remained still, shaking from the amount of strain she had put on herself. She herself couldn't believe she had blocked that, but she wasn't really thinking about it now.

Naraka let out a hiss of fury once seeing her still alive, and orbs of his Magic appeared and spiraled out around him, "Death Lance Storm!"

Frea's eyes widened in shock, Death Lance...? Didn't Rified use something like that?

If so, she knew what was coming toward her from the sky, but she couldn't move, she didn't have the strength to. She clenched her jaw and tremble as she tried to push herself up, but only collapsed again.

Damn it, move!

At the last second, Frea forced herself to jump away, and hissed in pain when one of the lances streaming down from the sky sliced through the top of her left shoulder, before she managed to get out of the way of the rest of the lances.

She stumbled and held her shoulder, the Death Magic having disappeared almost as soon as it got her. Her blood dripped through her fingers as she panted heavily, glaring up at the Dragon still hovering above her in the sky.

The ground became even more destroyed as a dozen other Lances struck the ground, missing her by mere inches. Her jaw clenched in pain, and her eyes closed for a split second. She hadn't moved fast enough, and this is what happened...

But she was confused, Rified seemed to use the exact same Magic as Naraka did... Wonder why though..?

"Grr... He's starting to piss me off..." She hissed under her breath and let go of her shoulder. Taking a deep breath she thought as quick as she could, this was going nowhere, she needed to come up with something...

The ground shook as Naraka landed again, and she frowned at the smirk spread across his face. "Your blood smells delightful..." He chuckled lowly. "Its making me hungry!" Naraka's leg lunged forward as his claws extended, and Frea narrowly missed it.

"Energy Beam!" She yelled through gritted teeth, arms held out in front of her as a large column of Magic streamed out toward Naraka, catching him across the face.

But the action only made the Dragon angrier, and Frea yelled out in pain as his tail swung out and caught her in the stomach, the spikes digging into her skin, and sending her flying until she crashed into one of the half-destroyed buildings surrounding them.

Frea stiffened in pain, teeth clamped down, lying amongst the rubble with her back propped up against a large slab of concrete, dust and small pieces of debris falling around her and on her. Blood stained her shirt where it dripped down from her shoulder, and welled up from the stab wounds Naraka's tail had made in her stomach.

"Humans will lose this fight." Naraka growled lowly, his green gaze boring into her as he slowly walked toward her, his steps making the ground tremble. "Every time a Human dies within range of me, I gain more power." Naraka's fangs glinted in the light of the orange moon over-head. "You cannot win against me, as long as the Wizards in this city die."

Frea's eyes went wide at his words, there were people dying...?

Who?!

.:+:.

All over the city, the Wizards of Fiore's Magic Guilds were fighting for their lives as the battle deteriorated.

All Dragon Slayers were having a hard time taking down the Dragons they had come up against, while Natsu fought in the air above the city with the Fire Dragon, Atlas Flame at his aid.

Chase huffed out as he came to a small pause, covered in cuts and bruises. He was back to back with Cana, surrounded by the smaller Dragons. Around them, the other Fairy Tail members were also fighting. This battle was going nowhere fast, and he knew it. Everyone was he hurt, he was hurt, they wouldn't be able to keep this up much longer.

But what the hell else are we supposed to do? I can't think of anything to fix this mess...

"We're surrounded..." Cana muttered and Chase sighed.

"I noticed..." He murmured. "Stay close." He told her and she gave him a curt nod in reply.

"Energy Wave!" He growled, swiping his hands out to the sides, and a large light blue wave of Magic spiraled out around Cana and himself, knocking the small Dragons that had circled them backwards a ways.

"They just keep coming." Cana growled, swiping her hand out in front of her and sending some Magic charged cards toward the Small dragons that appeared to take the place of the others Chase had knocked away.

"This battle needs to end soon, or we won't last much longer!" Chase replied, punching the nearest Smaller Dragon with an Energy encased fist,

"Chase!"

He didn't have time to turn around as a concentrated blast of Magic shot through his chest, and blood spurted from his mouth. He hadn't even seen where the hit had come from, but he found himself falling forward, eyes closing.

I'm not... The only...one...

.:+:.

In the same instant, Droy was on the ground with Jet crying over him, the Plant Mage not breathing.

Romeo was being torn away from his father as Wakaba led him away, Macao falling to the Smaller Dragons that had piled on top of him.

Gray pushed Juvia out of the way, as he was relentlessly shot with the concentrated beams of magic set off by the Smaller Dragon that had appeared out of nowhere.

Frea's eyes went side as she froze, she could feel it...

Droy... Gray... Macao...

The breath caught in her throat, all their Energy Signatures were disappearing completely. It felt like pieces of the air were being destroyed in an instant, they were gone... Actually gone...

She didn't need to be close to them, didn't need to use a spell, or even be looking for their Energy Signatures. No matter how far she was from them, no matter what situation, she knew. She could feel it no matter what was happening, a familiar part of this world to her was being ripped away in an instant, she couldn't do anything but know who, and when they were taken away...

Her eyes went even wider when one in particular disappeared completely in an instant, and the blood in her veins went cold, she couldn't move, she couldn't breath.

"Chase..." She whispered, shaking a little.

He's... Dead...?

Naraka breathed in deeply and straightened up, "You can feel it." He hissed lowly, "Your fellow Wizards dying around you." Naraka's Magic started to spiral up around his body, "And their deaths make me stronger."

.:+:.

Suddenly, both Frea and Naraka froze for a moment, eyes growing wide as the images flashed through their heads. This just happened, didn't it..?

Her eyes went wider when she remembered.

She had felt it... Just after Naraka had said those words...

Macao.. Gray...Droy... Chase... All their Energy Sigantures disappeared completely... They died...

That was a vision though, but she remembered it. It had happened, she couldn't have forgotten something like that... She could never forget feeling her Guild-Mates dying... But, as she remained still, the same feeling of their Energy Signature's disappearance in the world didn't happen again, and she stared at her legs.

Naraka let out a low growl as he looked toward the sky for a minute, the bones around his neck rattling as he moved again.

"Time rewound... For one minute?" He growled as Frea stiffened, "The other Wizards didn't die..."

Time rewound... Wouldn't that mean... Frea's eyes widened even more, she only knew of one Wizard who could manipulate time, and she knew for a fact that she was here in the city before the fight began.

Ultear... You sent time back...?

Frea's head tilted down and her hands clenched around the rubble around her.

That means... You just saved everyone...

Frea shook a little as the rubble in her hands was crushed into pieces, and she slowly forced herself to her feet, bangs overshadowing her eyes completely, fists clenched at her sides.

There is no way in hell I'm letting your efforts go to waste... Ultear...

Naraka POV

"So you say you gain more power when people die?" Frea growled lowly, causing Naraka to look back at her. "What are you going to do if no one dies?!"

Naraka narrowed his eyes at her, she was literally shaking with fury now, and silver Magic suddenly sprung up around her, rising higher and higher into the air above her, and spiraling out around her body. Her eyes were still overshadowed by her hair, and Naraka blinked. She looked a lot stronger now than she had the entire time.

She's letting her emotions fuel her...

Naraka narrowed his eyes even more, he hadn't thought anything of it before... She's a Dragon Slayer and her element... Energy?

He let out a low chuckle, So... Chaitanya... You found a human to train in long run then...?

Naraka smiled a little more, this just got a little more interesting. Chaitanya was widely known to all the Dragons, even more so because she was special.

Most Dragons fell into a category based on the element they used, or their characteristics. There were many in several of the groups of Dragons, Fire Dragons, such as Igneel and Atlas Flame, Water Dragons, and other types, there were even a few like himself who used Death Magic, though he was the leader of all of the weaker Death Dragons.

But Chaitanya... No Chaitanya was the only Energy Dragon in existence, and perhaps one of the Dragons that had lived the longest as well.

Lets see what this Dragon Slayer can really do then...

Naraka let out a booming laugh and stared her down, "Those Wizards from before may have been saved, but you can't honestly believe no one else will die!" His lips drew back as his smirk widened. "In this fight, more humans are going to die, and there will be nothing you can do about it."

"No one else is dying as long as I have something to do with it!" She snapped, and he quirked an eyebrow. Her Magic started to rise higher and higher, he was surprised such a human had so much inside of them. Her head snapped up so the shadow disappeared from across her eyes, and a dark look passed across her face as she bared her fangs at him.

"Hehe... There it is..." Naraka chuckled. "That look... It's just like her..."

Frea POV

"As long as I am standing, I will not let anyone else die!" She yelled up at him, and clapped her hands in front of her, eyes closing as her Magic increased ten-fold.

She wouldn't let that happen, they had a chance now, thanks to what Ultear did. But this would only work out, if no one else inside the city was killed, that would keep Naraka from gaining any more power.

Too bad this will probably drain me completely...

But it didn't matter now, she was mad. She didn't know what happened, but her friends, her family... They had died, she had felt it, and she would never forget it either.

"Mass Search!" She shouted, and a massive silver Magic Circle appeared under her feet, stretching out across the ground in the part of the city they were in.

Moon and Rified came to a pause and their eyes widened as the Magic Circle appeared under their feet, even the Smaller Dragons jumped back a little as it appeared. Naraka immediately jumped into the air to refrain from physically touching her Magic Circle as it appeared under his feet, not sure as to what she was planning to do.

Frea's eyes scrunched closed harder as she cast her senses out across the entire city, "Energy Signatures:" she growled, "Lock!"

Her eyes flew open as she swiped her arms out to the side and kept them straight out on either side of her.

"Divened Protere uf ve Enogora Magion!"
