Chapter 46

I'm Back

Frea pushed herself to go faster as she followed the hallway toward the ever stronger growing scents of her Guild. There was something wrong, she couldn't believe Laxus was getting beat to a pulp! She could feel magic all around but she couldn't place what it was exactly, for some reason it was muffled and distorted.

She stifled a wince, her body was already sore, but moving so fast and so suddenly was starting to hurt. She pushed harder, determined to find out just what the hell was going on. Moon was streaming along beside her with her wings spread out wide and paws forward as she flew beside Frea. Frea didn't slow down to make sure The Exceed would keep up, and she hoped Moon was fast enough to stay level with her at least.

Her eyes widened when it seemed a ding had gone off in her head, and she clasped her hands together, closing her eyes for a moment and letting her Magic Energy flow, though she had hardly any.

"Energy Sense!" She hissed and opened her eyes as she continued running. Now she understood, some sort of Mind Illusion magic was sitting over the entire arena. Her eyes switched to the side where a window had appeared in the hallway, and she could see the arena. It was darker than the rest of the land, and she could see six different Energy Signatures down there, and two faint ones made entirely of magic, Phantoms.

She smirked a little and ran faster, Mind Illusion wouldn't work on her, for that reason whatever Phantoms were down there, she wouldn't be able to see like the rest of the watching crowds with her normal eyes. She only know saw it because of Energy Sense.

The hallway lead down to where she could see a door at the very end with light shining through. "Moon, I have to do something." Frea said as she glanced Moon's way. "You won't be able to see me for awhile, but keep going and find a guy with really dark hair and blue eyes. Tell him to use Energy Sense if he can, he'll understand after that." Frea told the Exceed, who looked shocked, before nodding.

"Alright." Moon agreed and Frea narrowed her eyes as she held her hands out to the side, her silver Magic rising up around her entire body. Frea spun in a perfect circle and closed her eyes as she focused on the borderline between the hidden part of the arena due to RavenTail's Magic.

She could feel her Magic clash with the hidden Magic of RavenTail as she forced her Magic to fight through it, and create an opening. When she felt herself break through, her eyes opened as her Magic grew brighter and wrapped around her in a circle. All in one second she was running down the now dark hallway without having to break stride to push through the barrier.

"She did disappear..." Frea glanced backward to see Moon sweatdropping, though the Exceed was blurry and hard to see through the surrounding Dark. She looked back ahead as she exited the hallway and saw all of Fairy Tail leaning over the edge of the railing as they watched the fight going on.
What they didn't know was they were watching Phantoms fight, not the real thing.

Frea halted at the railing where no one was surrounding it as she looked down into the Arena. She could see Laxus along with the entirety of RavenTail down in the Arena. Her eyes narrowed when Alexei took off his mask and revealed himself to be Ivan.

Damn it... I knew I didn't like that guy when we passed each other in the hallway...

Her ears strained to hear what was said above the roars of the crowds.

"What the hell is it you want anyway?" Laxus huffed as he glared at his father.

"I want to know where Lumen Histoire is." Ivan told him and Laxus raised an eyebrow while Frea's eyes narrowed.

"Sorry, don't know what that is." Laxus shrugged and Ivan glared.

"It's Fairy Tail's ultimate secret, Fairy Tail's darkness." Ivan growled. "Are you sure you want to play this game with me?" Ivan's hand gestured toward what Frea guessed was the Phantoms.

"I don't know what the hell your talking about."

"Don't lie to me boy, we know all of Fairy Tail's secrets." Ivan smirked a little. "That Iron Dragon of yours has been working as a spy for us."

Frea blinked a few times and glanced across the Arena where she could see Gajeel standing with the rest of Fairy Tail Team B.

"I know." Frea's eyes switched back to the Arena as Laxus spoke. "He's been working as a double agent, as of now we know everything about your Guild, your members, its location and your activity." Laxus told his father who looked infuriated at the news. Frea smirked, she had noticed Gajeel was always acting weird and secretive, now she knew why.

"If you really do, why haven't you come after RavenTail yet?" Ivan hissed and Laxus shrugged.

"I don't know, but I think Gramps still had some faith in you. He still believed you would change and he was giving you time to do it." Laxus murmured. Ivan stared and started shaking with fury as Laxus continued. "Your his son, and he wanted to give you the chance to change."

"No one can see you, all they see us you being beaten to a pulp. Look at their faces now, their confused looks. I'm in control here, the outcome is completely up to me!"

"Outcome or not, those Phantoms aren't me, or you." Laxus muttered. "You control nothing but lies and Illusions."

"But even lies and Illusions can be deceiving. Look at them, they don't understand. I could kill you if I wanted to you, what would happen to them if I do? Tell me where Lumen Histoire is!"

Laxus opened his mouth to speak but was cut-off from a shout up in the Fairy Tail stands.

"Laxus!" Master was standing on the thick stone railing with his hand raised in the air in the Fairy Tail sign, eyes fixed in the Arena, though he couldn't see the six down there.

Laxus looked back at Ivan, expression serious and calm. "You've failed yourself, and betrayed our Guild, Old Man." Ivan's jaw clenched so much, Frea could hear his teeth crack under the pressure.

"Enough boy!" Thousands of paper dolls started to fly out toward Laxus and the Lightning Dragon crossed his arms out in from of him to block the attack as he warded some of it off with Lightning. "I demand you tell me at once, your my son aren't you Laxus? Would you really betray your own father like this?!"

"Go to hell Old Man, I don't know what the hell this Lumen Histoire is. But even if I did I'm sure I wouldn't tell you!" Laxus growled back and Ivan's face darkened as his rage boiled over.

"Then you shall feel the wrath of RavenTail! The anti-Fairy Tail Guild!" Ivan roared as the other four behind their master lunged forward. Frea had jumped over the stone railing in an instant, landing down in the Arena and letting her Magic wrap around her hands as she lunged forward and grabbed Flare's flaming red hair in an iron grip, stopping the red strands from streaming toward Laxus who was being bombarded with his Father's paper dolls.
Flare's eyes widened upon seeing her, as did the rest of the RavenTail members who glanced her way. Ivan looked away from Laxus to stare in utter shock at her,

"You shouldn't be able to see any of this!" He yelled and Frea smirked.

"Yeah, yeah Ivan..." She pulled Flare to the ground by her hair and lunged toward the red-head with a clenched fist. "Just worry about what the Lightning Idiot and I are going to do to you!" She growled as she swung out to catch Flare in the stomach just as she got to her feet. "This is for Lucy." She hissed in Flare's ear.

Chase's POV

Chase stared wide-eyed at the scene before him, Laxus was being beaten to a pulp! How that hell is that possible? Don't get him wrong, Chase didn't like Laxus, but the Guild's reputation was on the line here!

He stiffened when he felt a familiar Magic flare up behind him and he turned around as he walked toward the entrance to one of the many hallways in the building. He knew that Magic well, but he couldn't see who it belonged to.

Why did I feel Teach's Magic if she's not here?

His eyes widened in surprise when a dark grey Exceed flew from the building and immediately raced up to him as soon as her pale blue eyes saw him.

"Frea says to use Energy Sense." The cat huffed and he blinked in shock. For a minute he hesitated, he didn't know this cat, yet she said Teach told him to use Energy Sense. "Please? I think its important." The Exceed pressed and he nodded slightly as he clasped his hand in front of him and closed his eyes.

"Energy Sense!" He hissed under his breath and opened his eyes, which were full blue orbs for a split second before he stiffened in shock.

Why the hell hadn't he noticed this before? The entire Arena had darkened from what he could see as Magic hovering over the entire area. He turned to look back at the Arena, and up to where he could see RavenTail standing in their own designated area of the Arena. They were made of magic, not actual beings, and looking down into the Arena he could see the fighting forms of Laxus and Alexei were the same.

They were Phantoms.

Down in the arena he could see the true Energy Signatures of all of RavenTail, Laxus, and to his utter amazement, the brightly blazing silver Energy Signature of Frea.

Chase cast one last look at the cat, before stepping forward to stand beside Master.

"The Laxus and Alexei down there are Phantoms," Chase murmured into his Master's ear, and Makarov stiffened. Chase glanced out into the crowd where he could see Ivan standing, that was a Phantom too. "From what I can see all of RavenTail is down in the Arena right now," He took a pause and narrowed his eyes.

There was no way he could mistake it, that was Frea's Energy Signature down there, he would know it anywhere.

"Frea's down there too." Chase finished and Master nodded.

"Alright." Master murmured as Chase took a step back to stand with the unfamiliar Exceed again, and he glanced her way when he felt Magic power come off of her for a minute or two. His eyes went back to the Arena and Energy Sense wore off,

RavenTail's playing dirty...

Frea's POV

"Energy Dragon's Iron Fist!" Flare was sent flying by her hit and smashed into the Arena wall, falling to the ground where she didn't get back up again.

Frea jumped back to dodge a kick from Kurohebi. The RavenTail wizard glared at her and she bared her fangs at him, sidestepping another hit from him. Frea got behind him in a flash,

"And this is for your utter lack of regard for anyone else's feelings!" She hissed as she spun with her arms out to her sides, magic wrapping around them in the shape of Wings. "Energy Dragon's Wing Slash!" She spun around and her attack made contact with Kurohebi's back as he was sent flying to his the Arena wall as well, he didn't get back up after that.

"This is for Gray!" Frea glanced over her shoulder when she heard Laxus shout and Nullpudding was knocked away to hit the ground unconscious. "This is for Wendy!" In a flurry of lightning Obra was down too.

What happened to Wendy?

That left only Ivan and Frea narrowed her eyes, all in an instant both Dragon Slayers jumped forward and hit Ivan on either cheek, one that was wrapped in bright silver Magic, the other flickering with Lightning.

"That's for Fairy Tail!"

Ivan was thrown away to smash into the Arena wall and the darkness surrounding them disappeared as he was defeated.

"What's this?! The fight was an Illusion, all of RavenTail is down and in the Arena?!" The announcer exclaimed. "Alexei is really the Guild master Ivan Dreyar?!"

Frea came to a halt as Laxus did the same and she glanced his way, but he was glaring at his father who lay on the ground.

"Who is that with them?!" Frea crossed her arms over her chest and closed her eyes.

"She is a Fairy Tail member named Frea." She opened her eyes when she could hear Yajima put in his input. "She's been away for some time, she must have come running when she felt something wasn't right."

Frea smirked and glanced up at the place where she knew Yajima was sitting. The pumpkin man was sweatdropping to see all of the members of RavenTail defeated, and several Rune Knights came into the Arena as they started rounding up RavenTail.

"Where the hell have you been?" Laxus huffed and she sighed.

"Long story, sorry I'm late," she answered with a small shrug.

"How were you able to see what was really going on?" He asked and Frea smirked.

"Mind tricks don't work on me." She answered and he crossed his arms over his chest. "Besides, there was no way in hell you were getting beaten to a pulp, I couldn't believe that. So I figured something was up, no one takes you down easy." She smirked and he blinked a little, not sure what to think of her words.

"I didn't need your help." He muttered. "I could have taken them by myself."

"I don't remember asking if you needed my help." She replied, "I wanted the chance to crack their skulls together, why should you have all the fun?" She smiled and he shook is head a little, smirking just a bit. "What happened to Wendy by the way?" Frea asked and he frowned.

"She was attacked by RavenTail on the first day." He explained and Frea stiffened, before narrowing her eyes and clenching her fists.

"Of really?" She muttered and cast a furious look at the captured RavenTail members. "If I had known that, I would have hit them harder..." She growled.

"This was a complete violation of the rules, therefore Team RavenTail is disqualified and Team B's Laxus Dreyar takes ten points!" The announcer exclaimed and the crowds roared. Frea turned away from him and started walking toward the rest of Fairy Tail,

"See you later, Laxus." She called behind her, and only got a muffled grunt in response as he headed in the opposite direction. She stifled a wince as pain shot through her shoulder where she had received a rather deep slash in it from the Black Chimera Guild Master.

"Haha! Hey Frea!" She glanced up as Natsu called out to her and she smiled at him, he was standing to the side with Wendy, Lucy and Erza.

"What happened to you?!" Gray called to her and she sighed,

"Long story." She answered and looked away from the two,

She ignored the speechless faces she received as she jumped back up onto the railing near Fairy Tail and stepped down. Everyone's jaws were dropped and she crossed her arms over her chest, quirking her eyebrow at them.

"Yes?"

"When the Hell did you get here?!" They all yelled and she sighed.

"Not long ago actually." She murmured and switched her gaze over to where she could see Moon floating beside Chase. "How long did it take you to figure out there was magic hanging over the entire Arena, kid?" She asked as Chase sweatdropped.

"Uh... Well you see..." He mumbled and Frea shook her head.

"He didn't realize until I told him to use Energy Sense." Moon answered for Chase and Frea shook her head.

"That's what I thought..." Frea mumbled, though she couldn't get too mad. Chase was an Energy Mage, but he wasn't as sensitive to Energy as she was, he had probably been too focused on watching the fight to notice.

"Whose this?" Master asked as he gestured to Moon and Frea smiled, snatching Moon out of the air and holding the Exceed in her arms.

"My new Partner, Moon." Frea replied. "Would it be ok for her to join the Guild?" She asked and Master nodded. Frea smiled and gave Moon a short sqeeze before letting her go, setting her down on the stone railing. Lily, Happy and Carla walked over, while Frea looked away to look at Master.

"May we ask where you've been?" He asked and Frea sighed.

"The job I took, got a little complicated. But it's done, there's nothing to worry about." She answered simply.
