WE'RE JUST OUT HERE, CRYING ABOUT DEATH

━━━━━ ⋆⋅♥︎⋅⋆ ━━━━━

"What do you know about Salem?" Faith asked as Rachel shrugged, "Not a lot... except that she has it out for the entire Auclair bloodline." The blonde replied.

"Why?" Faith questioned as Rachel tried to shrug, without moving her stabbed hands. "Beats me. But she started plotting against Kiara first and then somebody else killed her.. when she learnt that Kiara had a daughter, she made it her mission to end the Auclair bloodline there."

Faith thought about it. Salem sounded like somebody who could potentially make a good ally, even though in the tribrid's opinion the Pierce had been a lousy murderer.

"Where can I find Salem?" Faith asked as Rachel frowned, "I don't know. I haven't seen her since Founder's day." The blonde answered as Faith took hold of the stakes that were still indeed jabbed through Rachel's hands, as she began to twist them as she pushed them further through her skin.

Rachel grit her teeth again before she snapped, "I'm telling you the truth! I have no idea where she is! We're not exactly besties, y'know? Just allies who hate the same person." The Diamond answered truthfully.

Faith rolled her eyes before she chanted, "An sha lana." A pain infliction spell, which caused the vampire to scream out in pain, as nobody else heard her.

"I don't know where Salem is!" Rachel screamed out in pain as Faith just smirked, "I believe you. This is just for fun." She decided.

Suddenly, Kevin approached them, wanting to check up on his girlfriend as she'd been gone for so long. Once he got close enough to the pair, he could see through the illusion that Rachel was in pain, and Faith was inflicting it.

"Leave her alone!" Kevin seethed, as Faith found herself suddenly shoved against a wall, as she was faced to face with what seemed like a wolf-man form. Kevin, looking as though he was in a partially shifted form, snarled at the tribrid who wore an amused expression before she started to laugh.

"What in the Beacon Hills is this? Some sort of partially turned wolf? I have to say, I've never seen this before." The Mikealson confessed before she turned to Rachel. "Tell your puppy to back off before I rip his heart out."

"Kevin, let go of her." Rachel pleaded as Kevin kept his glare on Faith. "I'm serious, she's a dangerous bitch." The Diamond added as the Corvin reluctantly took a step back from Faith, though he kept his glare on her.

Faith's lips curved up into a smirk before she said, "Incendia." Kevin suddenly caught ablaze, letting out a scream. "Kev!!" Rachel cried out, as she got to her feet, as she ripped her hands through the stakes painfully. The blonde rushed over to Kevin's side as Faith let the flames extinguish.

Back in his human form, Kevin healed slowly while Rachel threw her arms around him, relieved that Faith didn't kill him. Kevin didn't seem bothered though, as he took one of Rachel's hands with his and noticed the giant holes in them that were slowly healing.

Kevin glanced up at Faith, seeming angry for what she had done to the vampire. Faith just smirked again before she approached them and placed her hands on the sides of Rachel's head as she roughly lifted her to her feet. Rachel let out a squeak as Faith looked through her mind, searching for anything that would lead her to Salem.

"So what happens after you kill Olivia?" Rachel asked curiously, as Salem looked to her. The Pierce wasn't blind, it was clear Rachel had taken a liking towards her and wanted to keep the vampire by her side.

Rachel saw a potential friend in Salem, as she had seen in Clary... but not the kind of friendship most people considered normal. It was in a Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf kind of situation, except much more toxic.

"I don't know. I hope to be sipping coconuts and relaxing by the beach, somewhere very far away from here." Salem decided, making it very clear that she wasn't hanging around. Rachel seemed slightly disappointed.

"I wouldn't be caught dead staying in a town like this." Salem added, as Mystic Falls was a place that brought her a lot of pain. Rachel nodded, her eyes darting to what seemed like a plane ticket that was poking out of Salem's handbag.

"Miami." Faith realised, as she let go of Rachel. The blonde just looked to the tribrid with an expression of surprise, as Kevin placed himself in front of the Diamond in a protective manner.

Faith tore her eyes away from the pair and turned to leave the Grill, feeling as though she'd received the information she needed. Rachel and Kevin just watched in surprise as she left.

"Are you okay?" Kevin asked, examining the girl as he placed his hands gently on her cheeks. Rachel gave a nod, feeling a little violated that Faith had gone through her memories.

"I... I forgot about our lunch." Rachel suddenly realised, instantly trying to drift her mind from Faith. "I ordered us lunch— it's probably cold now." The Diamond realised as Kevin's expression softened. "It's okay, you have a microwave don't you?" The Corvin asked, trying to lighten the mood.

Rachel laughed a little, "Okay, yes. But the food is technically not fresh anymore and reheating it in a microwave is such poor people behaviour." She decided as Kevin chuckled at how different they were. "It will be fine, I promise." He admitted amusedly, before he kissed her forehead. The blonde remained in his arms, seeming still shaken by her interaction with Faith.

Meanwhile, Faith opened her phone, as she texted Ezra to let him know that she was on her way back to their hotel.

"What are you doing here?" A shocked voice asked, belonging to Hope. Faith looked up, her eyes landing on her twin. "I could ask you the same thing." The meaner of the twins answered.

"I live here. Mystic Falls is practically my home." Hope replied as Faith deadpanned her, "And I know that because...?" She asked, "I don't know anything about you, we are hardly family if I recall."

Faith went to continue walking as Hope stopped her. "Why is the Salvatore school empty?" She demanded as Faith scoffed. "How the fuck would I know?" Faith replied in a salty manner. "The students and teachers are gone and... I'm worried because you seem vengeful."

Faith let out a humourless laugh, "Okay you're hilarious. And delusional." She replied. "I came here because Dahlia mentioned this town having a lot of history to do with our family. It's boring though, I'm about to leave." Faith replied, lying with ease.

Hope watched as Faith walked away, leaving her alone in the town square. Hope watched her twin's retreating figure, as she couldn't help but to feel like she was up to something.

Back at camp, everyone dispersed for the most part, Niko being the very first to leave the campfire. Caroline pulled the students aside separately to speak to them and see if they were okay. What she concluded was that everyone genuinely needed therapy because this group reeked of unresolved trauma.

Glen approached Valerie, Jed and Rafael to see if they were okay. "Everything good over here?" The Forde asked, mainly eyeing Rafael as he'd gotten quite angry at Aaron earlier.

"Yeah, everything is fine." Valerie answered before they offered their best friend a smile. "You know... it almost feels like another merger, this whole new enrolment thing." The Harlowe admitted. "It reminds me of the struggles there was when Auclair and Salvatore became one."

"Oof, the dark days. Yeah... when you put it like that... so you think everyone will eventually get along?" Glen asked as Valerie had a teasing look, "I consider the dark days to be the time you were infatuated with Victoria." Val admitted, still having a visible dislike towards the hybrid.

"Don't remind me." Glen frowned as Val laughed. "But yes, I do think everyone will eventually get along." They insisted before they looked to Rafael. "Now we just have to keep you from strangling Aaron Bennett."

"That's going to be hard." Jed remarked as Rafael frowned at him. "Yeah, it sounds like a challenge." Glen added as Raf grumbled, "You guys are annoying." The Waithe responded to the trio's teasing.

Lizzie passed the group, wondering what they were up to, although she decided not to ask. She approached her tent and climbed inside, as she zipped it up behind her. Aphrodite laid on her side of their large mattress, looking defeated.

"Are you okay, Aph?" Lizzie asked, as she moved to lay beside her. "No. Everyone is agitated and fighting and... I feel like this camping trip was a terrible idea because nobody is bonding." The redhead complained.

"Is that why you've been acting strange?" Lizzie asked, as Aphrodite looked offended by this accusation. "What do you mean?" The De Martel asked. "Well... other than when we were roasting marshmallows, I've hardly seen you. You disappeared when I was trying to pitch the tent. You also disappeared when we started cooking and lighting the fire..." Lizzie began to list things as Aphie seemed to grow embarrassed.

"It's because I don't know how to do any of this camping stuff— and I'm embarrassed." Aphrodite confessed. "I'm usually this fairly well put together person who has been alive for centuries and should know how to do everything. And now I'm out here, expected to do all of these new things where suddenly I won't look perfect in front of the girl I love and it's humiliati—"

"Say that again." Lizzie cut in as Aphrodite frowned, "Do I have to? I'm already embarrassed babe." She replied as Lizzie tried to stifle a laugh before she asked, "You love me?"

Aphrodite's lips parted in realisation that she'd let it slip, and perhaps in one of the most unromantic ways possible. "I.. I love you, Lizzie." The De Martel nodded, as she reached out to take Lizzie's hands as the siphon intertwined their fingers.

"I love you too, Aphie." Lizzie confessed, with a smile. "And... you could never do anything to make me think you're not perfect." The blonde insisted before she reached forward to kiss her girlfriend. Aphrodite kissed Lizzie back, as she couldn't help but to smile into the kiss.

Outside their tent, a much less loving display was happening as MG made a beeline for Beau, who was pestering Landon and Lucas as the Kirby was setting up a hammock, insisting he and Lucas at least slept under the stars for one night.

"Beau." MG began, as Beau grumbled before he turned to face the vampire. "What?" The Lazuli asked bluntly. "What the hell did you mean by the campfire?" MG demanded, as he looked visibly hurt.

Beau groaned before he grabbed MG's wrist and began to lead him away from the campsite. "We are not having this conversation near all of these sleeping people." The Lazuli huffed, as MG pulled his wrist out of Beau's grip, but continued to follow him.

Beau lead them into the woods, fortunately in a different area to Liv, Lexi and Casper who were enjoying hanging out away from everybody.

"What did you mean I destroy everything?" MG demanded, as they were far enough away that their talking, or more so yelling wouldn't disturb anybody.

"You destroyed us." Beau snapped. "You destroyed what could have been a great relationship because you got bored of me and moved onto somebody else." Beau continued, "How could you flirt with me and convince me that you're interested in me only to date Alyssa weeks later?!" The siphon snapped.

"What?" MG blurted out, "I started dating Alyssa because I thought you didn't like me." The Greasley confessed. "I was playing hard to get, you moron. But you clearly only cared about getting your dick wet because you moved onto the first person who would bat their eyelashes at you." Beau growled.

"I.. I genuinely thought you weren't interested in me! So I wanted to find someone else—" MG rambled as Beau sighed, "Well I did like you. I liked you a lot. So my point at the campfire was that you destroy everything because you move on too quickly. You made me feel so stupid."

"I'm sorry, Beau. If I could take it all back, I would." MG confessed, as he took the Lazuli's hands in his own. "I do like you, it's why I've spent weeks trying to earn your trust back, but god you're so stubborn. I want to make things right, please let me."

Beau inhaled before he moved forward, letting his lips crash into MG's. The vampire was quite surprised, but closed his eyes to kiss back. The pair began to kiss more passionately, as MG took hold of Beau and vampire sped them further into the forest, accidentally ramming them into a tree.

"You dickhead." Beau grumbled once they'd broken apart. "S..Sorry." MG winced, realising that probably hurt. Beau rolled his eyes as he pulled off his shirt, before he cupped MG's cheeks and kissed him again, realising as his forearms lightly brushed against the Greasley's skin, that he had taken his own shirt off too.

Fortunately as Beau and MG seemed to take things further, Liv, Lexi and Casper hadn't heard them as they exited the woods. Liv and Lexi still had their hands intertwined as they walked, as neither one of them really wanted to let go.

Casper glanced at the pair, realising that they had some sort of unspoken thing going on, and he wondered if either of them were going to address it. The Olmo then decided he should check on Wylan and let him know that he'd returned to camp. "Goodnight Liv and Lexi." He said with a sleepy smile.

The tribrid and heretic turned to the baby werewolf, "Goodnight Casper." They both said at slightly different times. They then walked through the campsite, as Olivia noticed Landon and Lucas were cuddled up together in Landon's hammock, sleeping peacefully. The Auclair smiled at them before she continued to walk.

Reaching the campfire, Lexi halted upon seeing Bellamy seated by the fire. She let go of Liv's hand, and crossed her arms. "What are you still doing awake?" The Salvatore asked defensively.

Bellamy turned to the pair, before she got to her feet and approached them. "I wanted to apologise." Bellamy began, her eyes fixed on Lexi. "I will forever hate your father with my entire being for breaking my family, but his sins are not your own. And you don't deserve to hear your own father be spoken ill of in front of your own ears."

"Damon Salvatore may be in my hex pile, but you will not be." Bellamy declared before she held out her hand to offer some sort of truce. Lexi raised an eyebrow, "Thanks... I think?" She replied confusedly before she shook the Mikealson-Lockwood's hand.

Victoria couldn't stay still, as she found herself fidgeting as she sat in a chair, across from Ezra who was seated on the hotel room's bed reading a magazine. The O'Connell-Mikaelson would usually fidget with her Mikaelson necklace she always wore, but she hadn't worn it the moment she was taken.

"These magazines really are garbage... I would have thought over time they may improve but... I was mistaken." Ezra spoke, as he placed the magazine aside on the nightstand.

The Zhang then noticed Tori's fidgety behaviour, and questioned, "Are you alright?" Victoria turned to Ezra, seeming hesitant to answer.

"I... have a lot of questions, I guess." The blonde admitted, as she got out of the chair she was hardly sitting in, and moved towards the bed. "Can I trust Faith?" Tori asked.

"I know she is my sister... but I have really never met her... and the fact that she kidnapped me seems really weird, even if she tried to reason why." Victoria began to ramble as Ezra noticed as Tori fidgeted, she kept reaching for a necklace that she didn't seem to be wearing.

The vampire reached into his pocket, as he pulled out a necklace with a star pendant on it, and walked over to Tori. The hybrid seemed confused, as Ezra moved to place it around her neck.

"What is this?" Tori asked, clutching the pendant as Ezra stepped aside. "It's a necklace that Faith made for me, the star pendant has a protection spell." He began to explain, "And you look like you needed something to fidget with."

Tori nodded, as she continued to reach for the pendant as she spoke, "You're right. Thank you... but why weren't you wearing this?" She asked curiously. "I forgot to put it on this morning." Ezra had realised.

"To answer your question, I believe you can trust Faith." Ezra spoke, although he knew it was partially a lie as Faith had sworn Ezra to secrecy when it came to the existence of Hope, which everyone had forgotten about except for them. If Tori were to find out that such a big secret was being hidden from her, she would be livid.

But Ezra trusted that Faith meant well. She wanted to unlock her werewolf side, a part of her that had been locked away thanks to the Deveraux witches. And Tori had suffered the same fate, so Faith only wanted her baby sister to be free, alongside her.

"Why is she labeled as the Young and Evil?" Tori asked, as she understood that her father had been labelled the Great Evil yet he had been capable of change. "Because she was raised by Dahlia, your evil Great Aunt." Ezra explained.

Tori nodded before she opened her mouth to ask a question, but stopped herself. Ezra noticed this and made sure to give the hybrid his full attention, in hopes she wouldn't hesitate to ask whatever was on her mind.

"Why did you leave me?" Tori asked, as hurt was evident in her voice. Ezra's face fell as he knew he had to be careful how he fabricated his story since Victoria didn't remember Hope, "Because, you didn't need me around anymore. You went back to Mystic Falls and I decided to go save Faith from Dahlia." He explained as Tori frowned.

"I wasn't okay at all. I went back to Mystic Falls and turned into a monster." Victoria began to explain. "I lost my parents... and my Uncles and Aunts became distant because they started to have kids of their own. I couldn't even go to Declan because he'd been compelled to forget about the supernatural." She added, "And like them, you disappeared too."

"I guess I don't understand how I grew up in a big family, and suddenly I was completely alone." Tori admitted her eyes fixed on a spot as she spoke, as she couldn't meet Ezra's eyes.

The Zhang kept attempting to speak, only to realise there was so much he couldn't say. Through all of this, Tori had Hope... but since she couldn't remember her other half sister, she thought she had been alone. And despite having Hope, Victoria still turned into a monster.

"I'm sorry, Tori. I really am." Ezra confessed, his expression seeming guilty. "When I found out that Faith was still in Dahlia's clutches, I wanted to help her. I thought that you were getting better and would be okay on your own."

Tori looked away, as she could feel tears sting her eyes. "Sorry I.... this is all so selfish of me." The blonde admitted, "Because while I was alone... so was my sister. I'm glad that Faith has you."

"My Dad always preached always and forever, but it never extended to his lost daughter." Victoria realised, as now she felt as though her feelings towards Ezra leaving were invalid, as he was trying to help Faith after all.

Ezra's expression softened. "Tori, your feelings are valid. And I'm sorry you were alone." He insisted, as Tori smiled back weakly... and she realised that although her own memories seemed lonely and confusing, she did eventually find her people.

She could still remember the first time she interacted with Beaumont and Lucas. Victoria had been the sweet and bubbly new girl that everyone was talking about, but after breaking things off with Glen (who everyone had assumed to be her boyfriend) and turning off her humanity she was suddenly considered one of the mean girls who honestly just wanted to be left alone.

Beau hadn't interacted with her all that much, but being the king of sass that he is, he served her quite the insult. What he didn't expect was to receive a response that was twice as brutal and hurtful. Beau had been lost for words but on the contrary, Lucas burst out laughing and genuinely couldn't stop for five minutes.

Victoria didn't realise it back then, but that was the day she found her people.

━━━━━ ⋆⋅♥︎⋅⋆ ━━━━━

The next morning had arrived, and Beau hadn't expected to end up sleeping in the woods. Grossed out by the fact he slept on the hard, dirty ground he quickly got to his feet and began to redress himself.

The Lazuli glanced at MG, who was still fast asleep before he threw his clothes at him. The vampire's eyes fluttered open, and he sat up. "We fell asleep in the woods... we have to get back to camp." Beau spoke. "Oh man... the ground was a terrible place to sleep." MG confessed, as he pulled his shirt back on.

"I was supposed to be sleeping in my comfortable air mattress beside my future pirate boyfriend... not sleeping out in the woods." Beau mumbled as MG got to his feet and eyed Beau curiously. "We just had sex in the woods and you're telling me you still have the hots for Sebastian?" MG asked. "Yeah." Beau answered, as though it was obvious.

The Lazuli began to walk towards what he assumed was the way back to camp. "You're kidding right?" MG asked as Beau shook his head. "I like Sebastian, and I did not plan to have sex with you. That just happened."

"Do you regret it?" MG asked as Beau was hesitant to answer but eventually said, "No. I do like you too." The vampire's expression seemed to have lit up, though Beau looked bothered as he came to a realisation. "We have passed that triangular shrub THREE times?? Are we fucking lost right now."

MG glanced at the shrub as his face fell, "We can't be lost. We didn't stray that far away from camp." He insisted as they kept walking. "Why do you like Sebastian? He probably is straight." MG pointed out, as the boy was from a very different era.

"Have you seen him? He's hot. And haven't you heard the saying, spaghetti is straight until it's wet." Beau brushed MG off as the vampire frowned, visibly hurt that after being intimate with Beau, the Lazuli was still set on Sebastian.

"It's sort of hypocritical that you were mad at me for dating Alyssa yet you just slept with me and still want to pursue Sebastian." MG confessed as Beau turned to him, "Well there is a massive difference here, being that I like you and Sebastian at the same time. When you liked Alyssa you basically gave up on me." Beau explained.

"How can you like us both, though?" MG then asked, unsure what it meant for his situation with Beau. The witch shrugged, "I just do... I don't know why. I want both of you." Beau answered as he continued to look around for some sort of familiar exit, though it seemed they were lost.

"Well... I don't really know how I feel about that. What are you, polyamorous?" MG asked curiously as he shrugged. "I don't know, I've never labeled myself as such, though I've never been completely monogamous either." Beau confessed.

He hadn't been much of a relationship guy, but if he had ever been in one they tended to be open relationships.

"Wait... I have another question. If I had wanted to date you and Alyssa, would you have been mad at me like you are now?" MG asked as Beau shrugged, "I guess not because it means you still wanted me, even if you also wanted that demon spawn as well. But that wasn't the case, was it?"

MG massaged his temples, "This is all very confusing." He confessed as Beau glanced at him, "I wasn't put on this Earth to be simple and easy." He replied snakily. "Now why the fuck can't we find our way back to camp?" Beau complained, "This is getting ridiculous." He added as MG had to agree.

Meanwhile back at the camp, Corentin and Dante were working together to make breakfast for everyone. Charlie was the first to see the pair, as he seemed a little surprised. "Morning." He said, as the pair looked up. "Good morning." Dante greeted in a chipper manner.

"Are you making everyone breakfast?" Charlie realised, as he saw all of the bacon and eggs that were currently being cooked. Glen appeared beside Charlie, as he sleepy rubbed his eyes before they landed on the fresh breakfast.

"I think us new enrolments got off on the wrong foot last night... so we wanted to make it up to you." Corentin explained as Dante held out a plate to Glen, but not before he looked the Forde up and down as he wore an expression that easily gave away that he thought Glen was attractive.

Charlie saw this and shot Dante a quick glare, before Corentin handed him a plate. "Thanks." The Salvatore said, quickly changing his expression to a smile towards the Claire. "I have a question for you... do you prefer to go by Corentin, or Alex?" Charlie then asked, as he remembered when he last visited that most people called him Alex, although his name was Corentin.

"Well, most people can't pronounce my name correctly, which is Corentin." He began, "So it is easier for many to call me Alex, which is a shortened version of my middle name." The witch added before he smiled, "But you are more than welcome to call me either name." Charlie nodded, before he and Glen went to sit down and eat.

Other students started to wake up, beginning with Lucas and Landon who had successfully spent the night cuddled up together in Landon's hammock. Lucas was impressed, as he thought he would get sick of the bugs.

Ezekiel took a plate, before he glanced at the werewolves who tended to sit as a group for the most part, though others were welcome to join them. Amongst Valerie, Jed, Rafael, Myrical and Glen (and Charlie, who wanted to sit with his boyfriend) were also Casper and Wylan, who were socialising with the other wolves.

Zeke debated whether to sit with them, when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder, belonging to Veronica. "What are you waiting for? Go sit with them." The heretic insisted as Zeke seemed a little bashful. "I'm not sure if that's a good idea... I'm not even a triggered werewolf yet." He confessed.

"Neither is one of the Olmo twins. I don't know which... I literally can't tell them apart." Bellamy's voice piped up, as the brunette approached her twin and cousin. "So if he is being allowed to sit with them, so should you." Bellamy added.

Ezekiel looked to Bellamy in an almost pleading manner to follow him and sit with them too, but the brunette wasn't really interested in making friends yet. She knew Zeke was insecure... he wanted to be a werewolf so badly but also struggled to currently accept himself as a wolf since he hadn't broken his curse.

Bellamy frowned at her brother, as she silently tried to tell him to go speak to the wolves on his own, because she didn't feel like socialising. Ezekiel pouted before he tried to plead again. Veronica looked between them before she asked, "Are you guys communicating without talking?" Bellamy gave a nod while Ezekiel exhaled a "Yes."

Veronica laughed to herself before herself and Bellamy sat down together to eat. Ezekiel abandoned his plan to speak to the wolves, and decided to sit with them instead.

Once breakfast was over, Lexi, Sebastian and Ashley were on cleanup duty. The trio worked together to clean the dishes when Eden approached them.

"Sebastian... have you seen Beau?" The Winslow asked, as the vampire shook his head. "He never came back to our tent last night." Sebastian realised as Eden frowned. "I hope he is okay." The girl admitted.

"That is odd... I don't think MG is here either." Lexi realised, as she looked around. The Salvatore and Ashley then shared a look of realisation, that Sebastian and Eden didn't seem to catch on to. "Oh no... that is a legitimate possibility." Ashley said quietly to Lexi as the heretic looked over at Sebastian.

"Ash, where's my football?" Aaron suddenly approached the group as Ashley deadpanned her twin as though it was obvious. "It's wherever you left it." She said, knowing it was in their tent.

"Thanks for your helpful response." Aaron said sarcastically although when he returned from his tent with his football, Ashley grinned. "You're welcome." She teased.

Lexi raised an eyebrow. "I honestly can't imagine what it would be like to have a sibling." She confessed aloud. Ashley turned to her, "I'm surprised you're an only child. Mum always told me that your parents wanted four kids." She admitted as Lexi cringed at the idea. "Three siblings sounds very unbearable... I have no idea how Lizzie manages with having three siblings."

"I don't." Lizzie spoke up, passing the group who were cleaning. "Every day is a struggle." She spoke dramatically, as everyone knew Lizzie would do anything for her siblings.

"Hey, do you like football?" Aaron asked, as he approached Ezekiel. He noticed the boy was being kinda anti social, and since his friends were hanging around Rafael he figured he needed to find someone else for company.

Zeke nodded, "I love football." He confessed as Aaron's lips curved into a slight smirk. "Then why don't you get off your ass and play catch with me?" The Bennett suggested.

Ezekiel seemed a little amused by the Bennett, but gave him a nod before he got to his feet. The pair then moved slightly away from camp so they could throw the ball between eachother.

Veronica rested her chin on her hands as she watched them before she heard Bellamy joke darkly, "For two guys without Dads, they sure know how to play catch." She said quiet enough for Veronica to hear. The Mikealson-Malraux couldn't keep a straight face as she laughed a little, though she felt bad for laughing also.

"Hey, has anybody seen Niko?" Caroline asked, as she looked around. Everyone remained silent which indicated they hadn't.

Olivia frowned, as she had recalled seeing the Shiratori walk towards the woods. The tribrid decided to excuse herself and go check on him.

"I think he went back to his tent. He did finish his breakfast pretty fast." Carice spoke up, as the Bailey was sitting with Josie.

Caroline frowned, and decided she'd go look for Niko, but that was before a familiar voice caught her attention. "I take it this camping spot is taken?"

The Salvatore turned around, her eyes widening when they had landed on Kobie and Clara, who seemingly had camping gear. "Kobie?" Caroline blurted confusedly as the older Fell offered the headmistress a smile. "Hey Caroline."

"Clara?" Wylan blurted out, as the former Mystic Falls High students all seemed to look at the blonde in realisation while everyone else seemed confused.

"Um... yeah this spot is taken but... you're welcome to come hang out for a while." The Salvatore suggested, as everyone seemed slightly panicked by that idea since the Fell's weren't supernatural and assumably knew nothing about it.

Caroline turned back to her students, "It's okay. Kobie knows about the supernatural." She explained as Kobie shrugged, "It's kind of hard not to know about the supernatural after your older brother comes home one day with fangs and tries to eat your cat." He admitted as Caroline cringed at the thought of Logan.

The Fell duo decided to set up their camp chairs, as Charlie glanced at Kobie, as he realised the Fell probably knew that he and Olivia were vampires when they'd visited the butcher.

Kobie caught the younger Salvatore's eyes and couldn't help but to chuckle to himself, almost as though he could read the vampire's mind. Caroline raised an eyebrow before she asked, "What am I missing here?"

"Nothing." Kobie answered, deciding it would be best not to tell Charlie's Mum that he'd sourced animal blood from his business, because the older Salvatore would definitely ask questions.

"What's your name?" Jed asked Clara, as the blonde turned to the group. "I'm Clara." She answered before Wylan added, "She's Mystic Falls High's head cheerleader, gymnastics coach and top swimmer as well as the student who has read the most books in the school." He explained as Clara blushed as she felt everyone's eyes on her.

"Damn girl." Jade admitted, her expression showing that she found Clara impressive. "I have a lot of hobbies." The Fell admitted as she sat down. "How do you have such a busy schedule but manage to make time to terrorise Nina?" Casper asked with a frown, as he'd heard what'd happened to his best friend at the most recent cheerleading competition.

Clara furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance as she could remember herself and Nina fighting for the top of the triangle. Clara had insisted she was on top as they had practiced for weeks, but the other girls all wanted Nina to take her place as they preferred her to Clara. This caused the rivals to bicker and they ended up ruining the formation and becoming disqualified.

Clara didn't want to be unliked by her team. When it came to achieving her goals she tended to be rather intense, while Nina was always nice. She was nice to everyone, making her the favourite.

The Fell wore a dark purple bruise on her forearm, only evident after her cheer competition failure. Clara pulled down her sleeve quickly, not wanting any questions to be asked before she looked to Casper. "I don't terrorise Nina." She responded, slightly offended by the accusation. "She was ruining the formation which caused us to lose."

Both Myrical and Rafael noticed the bruise on the girls arm, and noticed that she kept pulling her sleeve down to cover it. With the pair both growing up in households of abuse, they found themselves jumping to conclusions, and wondered if Clara had received such a mark from her parents.

"I didn't take you as much of a camper." Caroline said to Kobie as the Fell shrugged. "This is pretty much the only way I can Clara on a holiday without Tanya and Pete losing their shit." Kobie responded, as he referred to his ex wife and her new partner.

"If it were up to me, we'd be in Europe right now." Kobie admitted, as he tried to fantasise about it. He could already picture himself and his daughter eating their way through Italy... except while Clara was considered a dependent with shared custody, she wouldn't be able to leave the country or Tanya would take it the the courts and say that Kobie was trying to flee the country with their daughter.

Caroline frowned, she never liked Tanya Oakley and never understood what Kobie had seen in her in the first place. She also realised despite how much her and Alaric tended to bicker, she was grateful that their coparenting situation was much healthier than Kobie and Tanya's.

Meanwhile in the woods, Olivia followed Niko's scent as she eventually found her way to him. Keeping herself hidden, she raised an eyebrow when she noticed the psychic talking to themself.

In Niko's perspective, it was different. He had ingested hallucinative witch herbs again and could see Laura. In his eyes, the pair were just hanging out in the forest.

"It's so peaceful here." Laura spoke, as the ravenette glanced around at the nature surrounding them. "It is, especially now that I'm away from camp." Niko responded, as he took a seat.

"I haven't been able to drink... which means I'm back to being able to read everybody's thoughts." Niko began to rant, "I can't shut it out either... because I'm too fragile and I have to wear some magical ear muffs—" The Shiratori caught himself as he was negatively spiralling.

"What is happening to me." Niko paused as Laura faced him with a sympathetic expression. "You're depressed, Neeks. Losing me has broken you and you're coping by drinking and using drugs." Laura stated before she added, "Whenever a psychic is in a mentally bad place, they can't keep out of other people's heads. Their thoughts come to you, and you don't have to sought them out."

Laura took a step closer to Niko, "And by being drunk, your abilities were basically nullified." She added as Niko frowned. "You're being ridiculous." They replied as Laura shrugged, "Am I? Think about it."

"No, I don't want to. I just want you to go back to being like Laura and stop reminding me that she's gone." Niko demanded as Laura frowned, "These drugs, causing you to see me... it's only a bandaid to your problem. You're eventually going to have to accept that I'm gone, mourn me and eventually move forward... by doing this you're just prolonging it."

"S.. Stop it! Just shut up. Get out of my head!" Niko panicked, as he'd had enough. "Niko?? Hey are you okay?" Olivia asked, as she approached the psychic carefully.

"No I... I shouldn't have taken this." Niko blurted out as he held up a bag of the hallucinative witch herbs. "I wanted to see Laura but now she just keeps reminding me of the truth... that she's really dead." Niko added, as tears filled their eyes.

As the tribrid glanced at the drugs, it all made sense. For weeks Niko had been shutting everybody out, and this was why. They didn't want to be seen hallucinating their dead cousin.

"I just wanted to see Laura, Liv. I just want my cousin back but... not like this." They decided as Olivia took the bag. Focussing on it, she said aloud the first spell she had casted ever since turning into a vampire. "Incendia." The herbs burst into flames, as Niko them realised the reality of the situation.

The only way he could see Laura, was disappearing right before him. "Liv! Olivia no!" Niko pleaded, but it was too late as they burnt away. "I'm sorry Niko." Olivia blurted out, as tears filled her eyes. "I promised Laura I would help you... that we all would help you. She wouldn't want this."

"She would want to be alive!" Niko snapped as he noticed by the change in Olivia's expression... she was suffering from survivor's guilt. Everytime Laura was mentioned, it was a reminder to Liv that while the Shiratori died, she had lived... and in the tribrid's opinion it had been so fucking unfair.

Tears rolled down Niko's cheeks as he faced Liv. The psychic could read her thoughts and could tell that Liv wished it had of been her instead of Laura. Olivia's lip trembled before she started to cry, realising that Niko could read her thoughts.

Niko took a reluctant step forward and embraced the shorter girl, as they cried together.

Ezra and Tori entered a diner, which was fairly empty. The pair sunk into seats of a booth and were soon handed menus.

"When is Faith getting back?" Tori asked, her eyes fixed on a menu in her hands. "She said she will be back in a few hours." Ezra answered, as he looked through his own menu.

"She said she needed to speak to someone... why is it taking so long?" Victoria asked as she scanned the pancake section of the menu. "She had to drive to speak to this somebody." Ezra answered.

"Okay another question... why are we getting food when we're vampires?" Tori asked genuinely as Ezra looked up at her now. "Well... I thought it would be nice to go out for lunch. Would you rather we bond over a drink of blood from a stranger's carotid artery?" Ezra asked sarcastically as Tori rolled her eyes playfully before she shrugged. "Pancakes would be better."

The pair soon ordered, with Ezra ordering chocolate fudge waffles and an iced mocha, while Tori ordered lemon sugar pancakes and a cappuccino.

"So, do you like Mystic Falls?" Ezra asked Tori, as he wondered if she loved it as much as he once did. He grew up in Mystic Falls and loved it, but after losing his Aunt Pearl and cousin Anna, he wanted to get away.

"Yeah, I do. I didn't initially but I've made some really good friends." Tori admitted, as she thought about Beau and Lucas. "I do miss New Orleans, but I don't think I could live there again. I don't think it would feel like home anymore."

Ezra nodded in understanding, "Have you... found anyone special?" He asked carefully as Tori looked away for a moment as she blushed. "I uh... I actually have a girlfriend." She confessed.

"Oh, really? Tori that is so exciting." Ezra responded, as Tori laughed awkwardly. "Her name is Clary. Ironically, she's a Bennett... and we never used to get along but now I can't even imagine that we were really enemies." Victoria trailed off.

"Wait... you guys were enemies first? That's definitely unusual." Ezra admitted, as he didn't think that enemies could ever become lovers. "Yeah... we sort of went from enemies to enemies with benefits but once I turned on my humanity I realised that I really did like her."

Tori's face fell, when she realised that Clary had no idea where she was, and that she'd tried to call her right as she'd met Faith. "Ezra... I need my phone back. Faith has it, and I need to let Clary and my friends know that I'm not in any danger." The O'Connel-Mikaelson insisted.

Ezra nodded, "When Faith returns, I'll make sure that you get it back." The Zhang decided as Tori nodded. "Thank you."

A waitress appeared and placed the respective drinks and food down in front of the pair. Tori took her knife and fork and began to eat, fearing she may drool if she waited any longer.

"Have you... got anyone special?" Tori asked, as the pair began to eat. Ezra glanced up at the blonde before he shook his head, though Victoria could have sworn he was reluctant.

"I haven't had a partner in quite a while. I mean I did date Declan for a while... and Marcel and I were on and off..." Ezra admitted as Tori wanted to cringe at the idea of her family friend being with either her great uncle or older brother figure. "But I haven't really had a long term relationship for decades."

Ezra thought back to one particular ex girlfriend, a witch who specialised in ice magic. Her name was Anne Clairvoya... and as soon as her name and face entered Ezra's mind, he wanted to desperately to change it.

"How is your food?" The Zhang asked Tori. "Really good." Tori answered, as her plate was practically empty. The Mikealson placed her cutlery down and realised that Ezra was nearly finished eating also.

"How is yours?" Tori then asked as Ezra offered a smile, "Delicious. I need to take Faith to a place like this." The vampire admitted, "She always said that Dahlia wasn't a great cook."

"Somehow that doesn't surprise me." Victoria responded, as she took one last sip of her cappuccino.

"What was it like facing Dahlia?" Tori then asked curiously. "Intimidating. She is a scary woman. But Faith and I managed to outsmart her." Ezra answered the blonde.

Tori nodded, though she still couldn't help but wonder why her parents never saved Faith from Dahlia in the first place. It seemed so strange to her that they preached always and forever but it only went so far.

Back at camp, Myrical had decided to excuse herself. She'd grown exhausted from socialising with everybody and felt like she needed a break.

She headed into the woods, eventually finding a clearing that reached a narrow river with flowing water. The Benning took a seat, and closed her eyes as she listened to the flowing water.

Myrical felt at peace at last, though what she didn't expect that her peace was going to be disrupted.

With MG and Beau being gone for an alarming amount of time, and Niko disappearing while being in a vulnerable state, Caroline had been worried and sent Valerie and the wolves to split up and search for them, since they could try to follow a scent. Some others had decided to help, which included Cleo.

"Hey... are you okay?" A voice asked, as Myrical turned to see the Sowande. The werewitch nodded, "Mhm. I just wanted to get away from camp for a bit." Myrical explained, before she turned back to the river.

"The woods are a beautiful place." Cleo remarked, as she glanced at the water. "They are." Myrical answered before deciding to push herself to speak more (which created a bit of an internal battle because she did want to be alone.)

"I like being outside... inside feels so claustrophobic sometimes." Myrical admitted as Cleo nodded. "Yeah I agree." She replied.

"What is the Salvatore school like?" Cleo then asked curiously as Myrical shrugged. "It's... nice. There's a lot of students in different factions but everyone seems to get along." Myrical confessed, though Cleo could tell by the look on her face that she didn't feel as though she belonged.

"Do you like it though?" Cleo asked as Myrical opened her mouth to answer but paused as she thought about it. "I like some of the students... like Olivia, Valerie and the pack... but I don't really feel like I have a home here."

Cleo nodded, wondering if Myrical was going to continue to explain, since she could see the Benning was a shy girl. The Sowande wouldn't push her to speak if she wasn't comfortable.

"I used to live in the woods, for two years. I think living there was the only time I really felt like I had a home." Myrical confessed, her eyes fixed on the flowing water of the river as she spoke. She wouldn't dare to make eye contact while speaking about something that made her feel so vulnerable.

"I would shift whenever I liked... I'd speak to the animals. I know it sounds silly but I can actually communicate with animals... the forest was peaceful and as a wolf I didn't have to think about anything from my human life." Myrical added, as her mind drifted off to her abusive father.

Derrick Benning had been nothing like a father should... he was abusive and neglectful. After losing his wife as she birthed Myrical, he'd decided that their little wolf was at fault for her mother's death. And unfortunately the universe seemed to agree as ultimately Mae's Benning's death triggered Myrical's curse later in life.

Derrick's abuse is what lead Myrical to leave and find solace in the woods, where she'd finally found peace for the very first time in her life.

Cleo could tell that her past was something she struggled to speak about, and the Sowande could relate. "That doesn't sound as silly as the fact that I grew up with seven sisters." Cleo chimed in, hoping to lighten the mood as Myrical's eyes widened, "Seven?!"

The muse nodded, "Yep. And we were all very close in age too. My home was a chaotic place." Cleo added, as her comments seemed to make Myrical feel a little better for taking her mind off of her father.

"I think... I feel better." Myrical realised as Cleo tilted her head to show she was a little confused. "I don't feel so overwhelmed now... and your presence is comforting."

Cleo couldn't help but to smile, though she realised her ability as a muse may have pushed Myrical to feel as such. Nevertheless, the werewitch seemed more calm and relaxed and the Sowande was relieved.

Glen's eyes widened when he found Olivia and Niko sitting together with tear stained cheeks. "Uh— Are you guys okay?" Glen blurted out, feeling a bit awkward as though he'd interrupted them.

The tribrid and the psychic glanced up at Glen, as Niko could sense his awkwardness. "We're just out here crying about death." Liv confessed as Glen nodded in understanding. "Death is a truly horrible thing." He confessed, as he took a seat.

"I know my Mum wasn't a very good person... she was a bad Mum and a terrible headmistress but losing her broke me." Olivia sighed, "But leaning on others like Aphie and Myrical seemed to help... they were always looking out for me, even though their feelings for my mother were definitely negative."

"I lost my Mum right as I moved to Auclair Academy." Glen spoke up, as Liv and Niko turned to him. "Losing her is actually what drove me to start at Auclair... my Dad wanted to leave and take care of his mental health, leaving no room for me to be around... so I thought I'd enrol into a boarding school."

"To this day, I don't know how she died... but I have always felt this emptiness since she has been gone, and nobody has been able to replace her." Glen explained before he looked at Niko, "Is that how you feel?"

Niko nodded, "Yeah. Yeah it is." He answered, seeming to understand Glen's words. "I'm so sorry. It's an unimaginable type of pain, really. It doesn't really go away over time, but you do at least learn how to cope with it."

Glen never knew the real story behind what happened to Jane Forde, but the reality was that she'd been involved in a love triangle unknowingly. Kiara Auclair had a crush on Harrison Forde, and boy did she let everyone know about it. The headmistress spoke about Harrison as though they were a married couple, but that wasn't the reality at all. Harrison had been married to Jane for fifteen years.

Despite being literally married, Kiara didn't care and tried to pursue him, and unfortunately and mistakingly for Harrison he took that offer once.  An affair had began between Harrison and Kiara, and although it was one night, Harrison never expected Kiara to continuously follow him around and threaten to out him as a cheater to his family.

Eventually, Kiara had enough of Jane being in the picture and killed her in cold blood. This sent Harrison over the edge and caused him to leave Mystic Falls. Kiara had been rather proud of her actions, but she never expected their abandoned and heartbroken son to appear on the steps of her school, needing a home.

"Niko!" A relieved voice was heard as Charlie approached the group, though his face fell when he noticed how miserable the trio looked. "What happened here?" The Salvatore blurted out. "A cry session, basically. But I think it's time we head back to camp." Niko suggested, as they turned to Olivia and Glen.

Although he had been friendly with the pair, he'd never really spoken much to either of them. He felt grateful that they'd comforted him and even opened up about their own grief stories, because it made him feel less alone.

Charlie gave his roommate a look of relief, as it was probably the most words the Shiratori had spoken to him in days. The vampire then walked beside Glen, and gave his boyfriend a loving smile as the four students began heading back to camp.

Elsewhere in the woods were Aphrodite, Valerie, Kaleb and Eden, all looking for Beau and MG. "I wonder what they were getting up to... being out here alone for so long." Valerie spoke up, pointing out the obvious.

Eden let out an awkward laugh, as she seemed amused by the Harlowe's comment. As Aphrodite and Kaleb looked to her, she shrunk under their gaze. They weren't judging her, and she could tell by their emotions in which she could read.. they sort of just looked at her for laughing so suddenly.

"I hope MG seriously isn't going there... not after the way Beau has been treating him." Kaleb insisted as Aphrodite raised an eyebrow, "If I recall, MG kinda played Beau." She reminded him. "Yeah and now he's playing MG back twice as hard... it's wack." The Hawkins replied to the redhead.

"Well Beau has always been one to fight fire with fire... he always ends up winning though." Eden pointed out before she turned to Kaleb, "Your friend was stupid to hurt him."

Kaleb wanted to argue and defend his best friend as Eden was defending hers, but Aphie stopped them as she could hear something in the distance. When she recognised it was bickering she realised instantly it had to be MG and Beau.

"MG? Beau?" Valerie called out as a confused, "Val??" Was heard from both of the boys. "Oh finally, people that aren't MG." Beau approached them with a relieved expression. "I thought I was gonna be lost with him forever." He spoke dramatically as he hugged Aphrodite to add to the effect. Aphie just laughed as she hugged the Lazuli back.

"Oh come on... it wasn't that awful." MG defended himself as he moved to stand beside Kaleb. "It was horrible, I had to sleep on the rock hard ground." Beau complained as he moved to hug Eden.

Valerie couldn't help but to chuckle at the whole ordeal between MG and Beau. It was so obvious to them that they were into eachother acted as though they couldn't stand one another.

"Come on. Let's go back to camp." Val suggested, already having a scent back on the campsite as they lead the way.

Eventually everyone was back at camp, including Olivia, Niko, Glen, Charlie, Cleo and Myrical. What they didn't expect, was for a bear to be going through the campsite in search of food, as the camp had been left unattended due to the search.

"Everyone, stay back." Kobie spoke up, holding out his arms to warn them. Clara looked worriedly at the bear as she stood between the Olmo twins.

"What the hell?!" Lizzie blurted out, as the surprised blonde stood beside her triplet who wore just a look that was just as surprised. "Uh... babe, do you have any idea how to get rid of bears?" Lucas asked Landon, who shook his head while his eyes were fixed on the creature.

"If bears are so dangerous, why are they friend shaped?" Aphrodite pointed out as Sebastian seemed confused, "What does that even mean?" He asked as the De Martel looked to him. "I'll happily explain the term friend shaped to you after we get rid of this bear."

"We could lure it away using magic." Bellamy suggested, though even someone as seemingly cold hearted as her didn't really want to use magic on an animal.

Olivia moved away from the group to shift into her wolf form. The raven coloured wolf approached the bear now, and circled it quickly in hope to grab its attention. The Auclair tried to lead the bear away from the campsite, and failed. She tried four times before giving up and leaving the camp to shift back into her human form.

"I have an idea." Aaron suddenly suggested, as he had his football in his hands. The Bennett threw the ball, hoping that the bear would go after it as though a pet would chase a ball. Unfortunately the bear didn't budge, and suddenly Aaron felt stupid. Ashley facepalmed at her twin's idea... though honestly at this point anything was worth a try.

"Okay... anyone else got any bright ideas?" Lexi asked as Cleo looked to Myrical. "Do you think you could communicate with the bear?" The Sowande asked quietly. Myrical's eyes widened before she shook her head, "Bears are usually bossy... it won't listen to me."

Cleo couldn't help but to laugh slightly at the idea of bears being bossy before she placed her hand gently on Myrical's shoulder. "I think it could be worth a try." Cleo said, as with the physical contact and words of encouragement, the Sowande's ability to inspire seemed to take action.

Myrical shot Cleo a smile, "Yeah... maybe you're right." The werewitch decided before she approached the bear, as everyone let her through. Myrical began to communicate to the bear, though while she did use words she tended to use more gestures and actions.

The bear seemed offended by her accusing it of taking their food, and gave everyone a displeased expression before it let out an annoyed roar. It then got on its feet and began to walk away, stomping back towards the forest.

"That looks like a good outcome." Niko admitted, though he couldn't really read the minds of animals, though he wished he could. "Yeah that could have gone a lot worse." Ezekiel added before he looked to Bellamy and Veronica, who also looked relieved.

With that, everyone dispersed as it was time to prepare for dinner. Kobie watched as Clara sat with Ashley, Corentin and Dante as the group conversed.

"Clara seems to be getting along with the other students." Caroline noted as she moved to stand beside Kobie. "Why don't you guys set up your camp here with us tonight?"

Kobie glanced at Caroline, wearing a teasing yet warm smile. "You're not scared we're gonna blow your cover about being supernatural?" He asked jokingly as Caroline rolled her eyes playfully before she confessed, "I trust you." The older Fell felt the corners of his lips curve into an amused smile, before he looked over at Clara, as the blonde was playing a card game with Ashley, Corentin and Dante now.

Faith finally returned to the hotel, and was surprised to find Ezra and Tori still awake, and having coffee together. The pair were seated on the balcony holding takeaway cups from a nearby cafe.

"Faith." Ezra realised, as his expression seemed warm. "Hey." Faith greeted the pair, "I got what I needed." She added, wearing a half smirk.

Faith then glanced at Tori, "Does the name Salem mean anything to you?" She asked her younger sister as Victoria raised an eyebrow. "What the hell is a Salem?" She blurted as Faith took that as a no.

"Salem is a girl we're going to be setting out for. I believe she could make a good ally for this mission." Faith spoke as Ezra seemed surprised. Tori on the other hand, seemed skeptical.

"This mission you have literally told me nothing about." The hybrid reminded her older sister as Faith deadpanned Tori, "Don't use that tone on me." She warned her as Victoria frowned.

"We have a long drive to Miami, I'll answer any questions you have on the way." Faith decided before she realised something. The tribrid took a step forward and reached out to touch the star pendant necklace around Tori's neck.

"Why are you wearing this?" Faith asked bluntly as Victoria genuinely forgot she had it on. "Ezra lent it to me— I forgot to give it back." Tori confessed as Faith snapped her neck towards Ezra, expecting an explanation.

"It's true. I lent it to her to fidget with and I—" Ezra was cut off as Faith went ahead and unclasped the necklace from the blonde's neck before handing it back to Ezra.

The tribrid held it out, expecting Ezra to take it and wear it again. The Zhang studied Faith's expression, as she was unreadable. He wasn't sure whether she was annoyed because it was a gift she'd made specifically for him, or because he seemed to have a bond with Tori.

Ezra took the necklace back from Faith, and placed it back around his neck. She then turned to Tori, who looked genuinely confused by that interaction.

"Have you ever been to Miami?" She then asked her sister, as the younger Mikealson shook her head. "Well, neither have I. Let's check out of this hotel and go." Faith declared.

AUTHORS NOTE

Ezra trying to comfort Tori without mentioning Hope:

Also, just a friendly reminder that if you have a character in the cast and I am currently writing them in the story, I do expect you to support the story by at least voting and hopefully leaving some feedback in the comments.

Since I have a large cast, I do want to prioritise those who are actively reading. Those who act as ghost readers can expect that their character will be killed off 🤷🏼‍♀️ (that being said, some character deaths are planned and nobody is safe... but if you're not going to at least vote on chapters then you're sorta asking for your character to die.)

If you have lost interest in this fic or Wattpad in general that is totally okay too, I do understand 🩷 Please just let me know because I'd rather write off your character if that is the case.
