THE ANNUAL SHAME

━━━━━ ⋆⋅♥︎⋅⋆ ━━━━━

The annual shame, is what the Stallions referred to this yearly losing game of football as. A lot of the students actually loved football, but forcing themselves to lose was dreadful.

Before the game began, Liv went to approach Finch, who was helping Maya with her makeup. As Maya applied her lipstick, Finch wiped away any excess that missed her lips.

"Thanks, babe." Maya smiled, before she leant forward to place a quick kiss on the Tarrayo's lips. Finch kissed back, and gave Maya a smile once she pulled away. The Machado then left, to see if her sister wanted to reapply any makeup.

"Hey, if it isn't the cute waitress who served me at the Grill. Finch." Olivia said, with a small smile. "Hey Liv... I remember you— that cute girl who ordered a cookies and creme milkshake." Finch replied, with a smug smile.

"Aw, you remembered." Liv admitted, with a laugh. "Yep.. sure did. You're really pretty but um, I have a girlfriend now." Finch confessed, as Liv glanced over to see Maya, who was talking to Nina and Stella.

"She's cute." Liv smiled, before Finch had a loving expression on her face. "She's gorgeous." Finch replied.

"I actually wanted to ask if you wanted to get coffee sometime... as friends of course. Maya can come too!" The Auclair suggested, as Finch nodded, "That would be fun." She replied with enthusiasm.

Finch then glanced over at Lexi, "Maybe I'll bring Lexi too." She smirked, as Liv blushed a little. "Oh no you saw that?" She asked, referring to the incident earlier where Liv and Lexi had first met. The Tarrayo nodded, "I mean.. who didn't?"

The ravenette duo laughed, as it was clear a friendship was formed. Two lesbian werewolves who had decided they were platonic, with a capital P.

"Olivia!" Caroline called out, as she had gathered the Auclair and Salvatore students.. all except for Liv. "Oh shit... See you later." Liv quickly said to Finch, who nodded. "I'll see you on the field, when I kick your ass at football." The Tarrayo teased as Liv rolled her eyes playfully.

Moments later, Liv was with her team and they were discussing a game plan. "I want to use my speed and score a goal." Rachel declared, before Glen looked at her. "Why the fuck are you wearing high heels in a football game?" He asked, in disgust. "It would be funny if you were to break an ankle." Valerie said, with a smirk.

"Okay, so Rachel is being benched." Lizzie spoke, as the Diamond frowned. "We need to discuss a game plan. Since there's a lot of us playing for the Stallions, everyone will have to be benched at least once." The Saltzman girl declared.

"Except for you, boo. You're not gonna leave the bench— you may as well just go back to the school." Clary said, looking to Rachel. "What the fuck is your problem Carice?!" The Diamond demanded, as the pair looked at eachother angrily.

"Come on guys, we need to work together today, as a team." MG said, trying to lift the mood. "I'm sure we can all put our differences aside for one day." Amelia shrugged, as if to say if I have too.

"Sorry, were you guys saying something?" Tori suddenly asked, seeming distracted. "I was too distracted by Myrical in those shorts." She commented aloud, causing Myrical to blush madly.

Glen and Carice both had an annoyed look by Tori's comment. Their feelings for the Mikealson were definitely complicated, but it felt as though she was playing with their hearts.

"My eyes are up here, Tori." A flustered Myrical said, as Tori just gave her a smirk. "You perv." Amelia huffed, shoving her sister playfully.

"This game is going to be awful." Kaleb said to MG and Beau, having absolutely no hope in it as the Auclair students mostly didn't care.

Sometime later, everyone took their positions. The referee pulled out a coin and prepares to flip it. "All right, call in the air." Caroline announced. Dana gave Lizzie a scathing look before saying, "Tails never fails."

They allow the coin to fall onto the grass and look at it to find that tails indeed was face-up. "Guess not.." Caroline shrugged.

Connor and Dana low-five each other and continue to smirk smugly at the Stallions. "Your ball, Timberwolves." Caroline announced before she looked to the Stallions. "Shake hands, guys."

Josie and Finch shook hands without incident, infact Josie was checking out Finch. Maya didn't seem to notice, as she was shaking hands with other players, but Jazlyn noticed and gave Josie a dirty glare.

Beau went to shake hands with Connor, but Connor walked forward and shoulder-checked him. The Lazuli looked appalled, and as though he was going to use a spell, when Josie approached him and told him not to.

Liv and Lexi approached one another, and shook hands. "Goodluck. Don't fall over again." Liv teased lightheartedly as Lexi smirked, "You don't know, I might be falling for you." She joked, though Olivia blushed. The Salvatore gave Liv a flirtatious wink, before she went to shake hands with Charlie.

"What was that?" Charlie asked lowly, as the cousins shook hands. "What? She's cute. Just a bit of harmless flirting." Lexi grinned. Charlie opened his mouth to talk but Lexi beat him to it.

"I already know what you're going to say Charmander, She's fragile at the moment, don't break her heart... I'm not going to, but I see a shy, self conscious girl who is extremely beautiful and deserves to be happy and confident in herself. I just want to share some of my confidence." Lexi shrugged as Charlie laughed, "Well, you have more than enough to share around, Lexi." He admitted as Lexi rolled her eyes playfully.

Meanwhile, Lizzie walked over to Dana. "Good luck out there." Lizzie said, standing tall, as she held out her arm. Dana smirked smugly and ignored her offered hand, deciding to act too cool for the blonde. "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity." Dana replied.

"I'm pretty sure I've seen that on a poster at the dentist." Aphrodite admitted, pacing over to Dana and Lizzie. "I'm Aphrodite." The redhead said, offering her hand out now for Dana to shake.

Dana completely ignored Aphrodite and turned to Lizzie, "Oh, my dad's a dentist. But he still made time to be here. Guess I'm lucky that way, huh?" Lizzie and Aphrodite, both shocked by this low blow, glared at Dana.

Aphrodite just looked at Dana, unamused as she raised an eyebrow, "Well us girls still have our real teeth." She said, referring to herself and Lizzie. "Guess we're lucky that way, huh?" The redhead asked as Lizzie laughed.

Dana frowned and scoffed before walking away, as Lizzie turned to Aphrodite with a smile. "You didn't have to do that, baby." Lizzie said, though she had an amused expression. "But I had to. She just made it so easy." Aphrodite smirked back.

After everyone shook hands, the game finally began.

Lizzie, who was playing the quarterback position had the football her hands, and set it in its stand while she gave Kaleb, who was walking backward into position, a warning. "Remember the game plan, Kaleb."

Kaleb scoffed as though he was offended by the entire concept of their plan, "Girl, I used to eat townie scrubs like this for lunch— that's before I was a vampire." He admitted. "Well K, you're gonna have to tone it down." Valerie suddenly said to him, as Kaleb frowned.

Kaleb quickly assessed where all of the Timberwolves players were on the field until the referee blew his whistle, signaling the start of the play.

Kaleb psyched himself up before sprinting toward the ball and kicking it hard. Finch caught the ball and dodged an attempted tackle before throwing the ball to Lexi, who rushed down the field with it. Josie made it look as though she was about to tackle her cousin, but ended up somersaulting onto the ground, much to Lexi's delight.

Meanwhile, Connor had shoulder-checked Kaleb, this time with such force that he fell flat on his stomach near the sideline. Connor laughed as he passed Kaleb, who looked as though he's using all of his strength not to attack him. Valerie rolled their eyes at Connor's antics, before they rushed over to offer him a hand.

Kaleb looked up at the purple haired werewolf, before he took their hand. "Thanks, Val." He said, as Valerie offered a smile. "No worries. Look, I get the anger... a lot of the opposition have very punchable faces." The Harlowe grinned. "Yeah, no shit." Kaleb chuckled in response.

While they lowkey flirted, Lexi ultimately scored a touchdown, and the referee called it as such. She did a little victory dance, and could feel the eye rolls from Josie, Penelope and Rachel. Liv on the other hand, thought it was cute.

"All right! Way to go, Stallions. Let's keep it up." Caroline cheered, before her phone rang and she was occupied.

The Stallions were on the sidelines for a huddle before the next play. "All right, I just want to take a minute to let you know how proud I am. You're all doing a great job." Lizzie said, as Victoria grinned, "Yeah guys you're doing absolutely fucking incredible. What shining stars." She said, her voice thrilled with sarcasm as Josie shot her a glare.

Beaumont looked at Lizzie as though she'd lost her mind, "We're getting our asses kicked." He huffed. "Which means we're doing a great job." Josie insisted. "This fucking sucks." Clary complained, "Yeah I second that. I want to play some real football." Charlie frowned, not enjoying this.

"What's the play?" MG asked, trying to change the conversation a little. "Same one as always—" Lizzie began before Aphrodite spoke. "Run around, make it look like you know what you're doing, then fail."

Everybody groaned.

"On three." Aphrodite said, as the team all clapped their hands together in unison, with the exception of Kaleb, who was scowling, before getting into position.

"Ready! White 80! Set. Hut!" Jed passed the ball between his legs to Myrical, who took off with the ball. Dana counted aloud as she visually tracked her, "One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi..."

"Pass it, I'm open!" Charlie called out, waving his hands. Myrical hesitated, unsure of what she should do as Dana continued to count, "Four Mississippi, five Mississippi..."

Dana stopped counting and went to tackle Myrical, who threw the ball to Charlie at the last moment. In an amazing twist, Charlie caught the ball in the air and ran just slow enough that no one guessed that he was a vampire until he reached the end zone.

Despite what was said earlier about failing, Charlie was too caught up in the excitement of it all and instead of fumbling the ball, does a varsity in the air and slammed the ball down onto the ground.

The Stallions crowd goes wild, and Penelope looked impressed, much unlike her other half who looked pouty.

"Yes Charlie!" Liv said, before the pair fist-bump each other.

The game continued on, with Glen starting the play by tossing the ball between his legs to Liv once she called it. "Set! Hut!" Olivia caught the ball and goes to throw it as Nina rushes to tackle her.

Olivia then tossed the ball to Josie, who was in such a perfect position to catch it that she felt forced to slap the ball away from herself to avoid doing so on accident, making it obvious she missed it on purpose.

When the Timberwolves looked at her questioningly, Josie simply shrugged and walked away.

Dana looked at Lizzie with feigned sympathy. "Your sister sucks at football. You should have absorbed her in the womb." She spoke casually.

Lizzie, sick of Dana's taunting, is unable to take any more of it without fighting back in the same manner. "You know what? We've been playing this game for years, and for years, you've been digging at me."

Lizzie stepped toward Dana and looked her up and down to emphasize her point, "Is it because I'm prettier than you?" She asked as Dana smiled fakely in response to her insult before throwing back her own, "Honestly, I just get a thrill from tormenting all the crazies. Speaking of... it's been a while since you paid a visit to my mom's pharmacy. Maybe you're feeling a little delusional because you're off your meds." Dana decided. Lizzie's face fell, before she shot Dana a nasty glare.

Aphrodite, who'd overheard the entire conversation, felt rage burn within her as she turned to face Dana. "How fucking dare you." The De Martel snapped, catching everybody's attention. "Excuse me?" Dana just scoffed at the heretic.

"How dare you make fun of Lizzie's mental health, you piece of shit." Aphrodite growled. Dana laughed awkwardly, "Oh seriously? I mean, who fucking cares??" She asked loudly.

"You're a spiteful, cruel bitch and I've had enough of you." The redhead decided, before she clenched her fist and punched Dana straight in the jaw. Gasps were heard, as Dana looked at Aphrodite in shock, before the pair broke out into a fight.

And that cause everyone to break out into a fight. Stallions and Timberwolves all began fighting one another, and the football essentially turned into street fighter..

Laura tried to escape the fight, not wanting to get involved. She got shoved by somebody, and ended up falling off her feet... what she didn't expect, was to knock someone over also.

The Shiratori was bright red, when she realised she had knocked Maya over, and was now laying on top of her.

"Ow.." Maya laughed awkwardly, as she rubbed her head. "Oh my god— I'm so sorry!" Laura quickly spoke, as she got back onto her feet, and offered the Machado a hand. "Thanks." Maya said, as she took it.

The brunette looked at the vampire, pausing for a moment and she realised just how beautiful this stranger was. Laura on the other hand was a flustered mess.

Meanwhile, Jazlyn and Finch were fighting one another, despite being on the same team. The pair had always been frenemies, and were quite competitive to eachother.. but this really made no sense to anyone else.

Connor and his sidekicks had been fighting Landon and Casper, when Lucas, Wylan and Ethan approached. "Leave them the fuck alone." Lucas grumbled, already hating Connor. The Saltzman could tell that he was a bully.

"Or what?" Connor asked, as Wylan took a step forward towards him. The Olmo didn't say anything, and threw a punch at Connor, before Lucas stepped in and helped to fight them.

Meanwhile, Ethan offered Casper a hand. The Olmo took it, and got to his feet though he didn't expect for his face to be so close to Ethans which made them both blush.

"Hey, thanks." Landon said to Lucas, once Connor was gone. Lucas looked to Landon, with a mixture of a smirk and loving smile on his lips. "Of course."

Ashley and Aaron cornered Charlie, holding a dislike towards the Salvatore. "Cmon guys..." Charlie sighed, knowing that they hated him because he was Stefan's son... and Stefan killed their father, Enzo.

"We aren't our parents." Charlie pleaded, not wanting to resort to fisty cuffs. "Well, we wouldn't know now would we?" Ashley asked, "Because your father killed ours." Aaron reminded him.

The trio began to throw punches, though Lexi came out of nowhere and threw herself amongst it all. "Now come on, two vs one is not a fair fight." Lexi declared, holding up her fists. Charlie looked to his cousin, with relief before the four started throwing punches.

Some students backed away from the fight, like Nina who had taken Stella's hand and lead her girlfriend away from the crowd.

But others loved it... and had a lot of rage towards eachother.

Once Caroline and the referee finally got everyone to stop fighting, it was evident that both Olivia and Penelope were gone.

"Oh fuck.." Josie blurted, knowing that there was tension between the Auclair and the Park.

With all of the Mystic Falls high students boarding the bus, minus Lexi who demanded to stay, the Auclair-Salvatore group split up to search for the two missing girls.

AUTHORS NOTE

So adding Faya to this fic was a bit of a last minute idea. We deserved to see Finch and Maya in Legacies, and were robbed as per usual so I wanted to add them into this fic, at least for a little bit before Laura/Maya and Jazzy/Finch happen. 😌

The next chapter is quite angsty and full of drama, I can't wait to finish writing it and share it with ya'll 😤
