-Chapter 17-
I was still sleeping the following day when Ronal burst into the Sully Pod. "Where's Tsa'lu?!" She asked a sleepy Neytiri she pointed over somewhere. It was a few weeks later from the annocment and I've been learning well, as Ronal said.
"Wake up! There been a Akula Attack! Wounded warriors are on their way!" Ronal said shaking me. I got up quickly getting changed.
Once she made it to the Healing Tent I followed Ronal around helping as she was teaching. I found themselves amidst the wounded warriors, the air heavy with pain and despair. "Tsa'lu, our warriors are in dire need of healing. It is our duty as Tsahik's to restore their strength and spirit."
I nodded, my eyes filled with determination. "I understand.
The Tsahik placed a hand on my shoulder, offering guidance. "Remember, Tsa'lu, healing is not just about physical recovery. It is about restoring balance and harmony within. Channel the energy of Eywa to mend their wounds, both seen and unseen."
With a deep breath, I approached the wounded warriors. I got paste and slowly started to apply it as warriors hissed in pain as I mumbled a sorry. Some tried to hiss and make conversation with me. One warrior was crying hard and his leg was only broken. Big baby.
I went and helped Ronal with a warrior who needed to snap there leg back in place. I held down the warriors arms. Ronal muttered words as she snapped it back into place as the warrior screamed. She started to say things to Eywa.
"As Tsahiks, we must not only heal the body but also guide the spirit towards wholeness." Ronal said moving to the next person.
We continued to heal the warriors until almost all of them were taken care of. I cleaned up some of the bloody messes.
One week later...
Ao'nung POV:
I was walking along the beach and wanted to do something for Tsa'lu. I wanted to give her a gift. But what could I get her?
I had to do my Akula mission to become Olo'eyktan which would be tonight and I had to make a necklace out of it. What if I did that, make matching necklaces?
I was equipped with a spear and I was full of determination. I got onto my skimwing and started to ride to where Akula's are usally at. The journey was a little dangerous. It was starting to rain as I made it to the spot where Akula are usally at.
I started searching as it poured rain. Minutes turned into hours as I tirelessly searched for any signs of the Akula. I've studied the behavior of them before. But there was no sign for now. Finally, my patience paid off when I spotted a massive shadow lurking beneath the surface. It was a Akula, its sleek and powerful form gliding effortlessly through the water.
I waited until the right moment and then launched my spear aiming for the Akulas vulnerable spot. The Akula fought back with all its might, thrashing its massive tail and attempting to get away But I was determined and after a while fighting it and chasing it, I was finally victorious.
I pulled the dead Akula back to the clan on my skin wing that I had tamed. I was proud. Back at the village I carefully extracted the sharp teeth from the Akula's jaws.
I then Started to meticulously cleaned and polished them, transforming them into gleaming white treasures. With no help from anyone, I crafted a magnificent necklace, stringing the Akula's teeth together with intricate patterns and designs.
The necklace was my biggest accomplishment killing an Akula. I put it on to make sure it fit and sure enough it did. It looked good.
I then Started on Tsa'lu's necklace which would have three Akula Teeth on it. After I made it, I carefully wrapped it up. We would have the Akula for a feast, some other people from the clan would prepare it. I then went back inside the village walking proud when I spotted Tsa'lu.
"Tsa'lu!" I called. I ran up to her and dragged her away into my family hut. But going to my part of the pod. I carefully put the gift in front of her. "This is to you, my future Mate."
She smiled before carefully unwrapped it and gasped. Holding it up. "This is amazing."
I smiled "We have matching necklaces." I pointed to both of our necklaces. I then went over and gave her a kiss.
"Wake up!" Tuk jumped on me the following morning.
"Tuk!!" I groaned.
"You have to get ready!" Tuk grabbed my hand and dragged me out of bed. "There waiting for you!"
It was a few days later, and today was the day I would mate with Ao'nung. In a few hours time I would be Ao'nung mate. I was ready.
I followed Tuk to where she was pulling me. We went inside another hut to see Ronal and my mother with pastes and clothes.
"Thank you Tuk." My mother said. "You may go now." I was ushered inside. An outfit I picked out earlier already ready. I just had to get ready.
I went and got changed and I came out with the outfit on. The top had diffrent shades of light blue and blue, that were feathers.
The bottom was the same was but with a cloth and seashells around the string. I smiled I loved it. I sat on the floor as Ronal brought paste in front of me and started to say a prayer. She dipped her thumb in the paste and brought it down on my forhead.
A sign that I was going to be mated.
Mom's eyes were watery her little girl in grown up. She gave me a hug. "Let us go."
We started to walk out towards the crowd of people Standing in the middle was Ao'nung and Tonowari and in the water a warrior holding two Ilu with supplies on it. Ao'nung and I sajd our goodbyes and got on each of our Ilu as Ao'nung led us somewhere special to be mated.
