-Chapter 15-

A few weeks later..
Ao'nung's POV

The clan gathered around as Tonowari stood on a rock, tall and proud. A sense of anticipation was hanging in the air. The moment had arrived for him to announce Ao'nung's commencement of his final training as the Olo'eyktan.

"Members of the Metkayina Clan, today marks a pivotal juncture in our journey. It is with great honor and pride that I share news about my son, who is embarking on the conclusive phase of his training to become the Olo'eyktan."

There were nods of acknowledgement when someone yelled out from the crowd."What challenges will Ao'nung face during his final training?

"Ao'nung's path encompasses both strength and wisdom. His training involves mastering the intricate balance between leadership, environmental stewardship, and harmonizing with the spiritual essence of our ancestral lands."

Another clan member raised a question, "How long will Ao'nung's training last, and what specific rituals will be involved?"

"The duration is variable, dependent on Ao'nung's progress. Rituals will involve sacred ceremonies, ancestral rites, and immersive experiences to deepen his connection with Eywa and our collective heritage."

Questions continued, with inquiries ranging from the intricacies of leadership philosophy to the significance of specific rituals. Tonowari answered each query, fostering an atmosphere of transparency and shared purpose. Another one raised his hand "When will he be mated?"

"Before He is done with the Olo'eyktan's training a months time!" In the closing moments, Tonowari summarized, "This moment signifies not just Ao'nung's journey but the collective destiny of the Metkayina Clan. Let our unity and commitment propel us towards a future where our connection with Eywa and our ancestral lands remains unbroken."

As the assembly dispersed, the Metkayina Clan embraced the upcoming chapter a new Olo'eyktan. Tonowari turned to his son. "Have you chosen who you want to mate?"

I thought for a moment "I think I have father."

Tonowari smiled "Who? She must be an amazing Metkayina girl!"

I sigh "It's not a Metkayina girl." I pause "But Turok Makto's Oldest Daughter."

Tonowari put a hand on his son's shoulder. "An honor that would be, mating Turok Makto's oldest Daughter."

We walked for a while making plans for it and planning how I would ask. Dad walked off and I walked a little more on and then I stopped. I saw Taa'lu playing around in the water with Tuk.

She was pretended to roar chasing Tuk around. Tuk screamed. "Oe lu palulukan, tspivang oel ngati" (I'm a thantor, I shall get you) She said and splashed around some water.

Oh my Ewya, She is so amazing I cannot wait until she is mine.

I walked off so I can prepare how to ask her.

Tsa'lu's POV:

I woke up early today I would be going with Tsireya to collect sea shells. She wanted to make a new top and bottoms.

"Hey Tsireya!" I say as the sun is rising

"Hi! Ready to go collecting?" She asks and I nod.

We go into the water and take a few deep breaths before diving down. I spotted variety of shells nestled among the coral formations. Tsireya was faster in the water so she could get more seashells. But I was slow in the water because I was not like the Metkayina Clan.

As we went deeper we encountered an array of sea creatures. schools of vibrant fish, majestic Ilu, and playful sea animals  all coexisting harmoniously in this aquatic wonderland. We collected a bunch of seashells and kept going up for air. We must have been down there for an hour or so.

We then got out of the water and sat on the sand. Tsireya went and got clean water and other stuff to clean  the sea shells. I dumped out the sea shells laying them out.

We carefully cleaned the Sea shells making sure to get things off of it. "These are perfect." Tsireya says

The lesson commenced with Tsireya showcasing various shells and explaining their unique qualities. She was going to teach me how to make things with seashells. "Each shell has its own story, Tsa'lu. Look closely, and you'll see the history etched in their patterns. This one," she pointed to a spiral-shaped shell, "represents the cyclical nature of life in the ocean."

As Tsireya continued, they delved into the selection process, identifying shells suitable for tops and bottoms.  Tsa'lu, carefully absorbing the knowledge, asked, "How do we ensure the durability of these sea shell garments, especially underwater?"

Tsireya smiled, "Paste of course."  We spent hours perfecting the technique, Tsireya demonstrating the delicate balance required to merge artistry and functionality.

Tsireya and I communicated our shared passion for the craft. The dialogue of movements became a dance, symbolizing the unspoken connection between mentor and apprentice.

As they progressed, Tsireya explained the significance of each step. "The patterns etched on the shells tell stories of our clan's history.

Tsireya also added, "Incorporate your own style, Tsa'lu. Add unique touches that resonate with your journey. Our garments are not just attire; they are expressions of our connection to the ocean and the Metkayina way of life."

The lesson concluded with me successfully crafting a sea shell ensemble under Tsireya's guidance. As we  admired the finished creation, Tsireya remarked, "You've embraced the essence of Metkayina craftsmanship, Tsa'lu. May your creations carry the spirit of our clan into the depths of the ocean."

As I delved deeper into the craft, we expressed a desire to experiment with new designs and incorporate innovative elements. Tsireya, always open to evolution within tradition, encouraged me to explore their creativity while maintaining the essence of Metkayina craftsmanship. I wanted to also put some Omatikaya stuff.
