-Chapter 14-

Today my siblings and I was hanging out with Tsireya and Ao'nung doing some stuff, trying to get our minds off of things.

Tsireya then went to hang out with Tuk so it was just Ao'nung and I. "Can I show you something?"

I nodded. "We have to go by Ilu." He says. "But it is outside the reef, it's a very beautiful island."

We were heading to the Ilu pen when I nodded. "It's our past three brothers rock." He got into the pen, called his Ilu, and mounting him. I called my Ilu

"You better not leave me this time." I mumble, remembering what happend last time with him.

He laughs. "I'm not going to leave you Tsa'lu."

"That's what you said last time." I grumbled. I mounted my Ilu and we made our way to the island. Talking and having fun.

Ao'nung smiles, and goes ahead, playing around as he rides. "Catch up forest girl!"

I laughed and started to chase him. "Your on!"

He's laughs again. That amazing laugh. He slows down, seeing that we are outside of the reef and didnt realize. "Oh! We are getting close to the spot."

I looked around. "Okay,"

Ao'nung gets off his Ilu and starts swimming towards the Island, I follow. "I found this one day, I was by myself and ended up injured. I swam till I found this island... Now it is my safe spot."

I follow closely behide looking at the island "Woah."

Ao'nung climbs on the rocks and walks over, reaching his hand to help me. "It's really nice. I even made a little hide out."

I grabbed onto his hand. Ao'nung pulls me up by him. We walk along the shores of the island. "You know, if you ever need a break or anything.. you're welcome to come here."

I grin "Thank you. It reminds me of home."

He nodded, we walking towards the shady trees and to a small hut hidden away. "This is my little hideout, it's really comfortable."

"It looks comfortable."

He nods, walking into the open hut laying on a hammock. "It's great."

"I'm glad it is." I sit down on the floor and look up at Ao'nung.

Ao'nung looks around, sitting back up. "I have something else in here too."

I look at him curious. "What is it?"

He smiles and walks over to a corner, pulling out a big wooden box. "This box, our men found it  outside the reef a while back... they said it wasn't ours, it's a mystery, it could be either be sky people, or another clans."

I look at the wooden box, "Woah."

He nods and moves it closer to us. "Wanna break into it?"

"What kind of question is that?" I paused for a moment. "Yes!"

He laughs and sits it down, grabbing a few tools and passing some to me. "We don't actually have things to open it... but that doesn't mean we can't break it."

I grab a tool ready to break it. "Yeah."

He grabs a tool, looking at the box before hitting it roughly with the tool. "Oh this is gonna be fun!"

I laugh. He laughs too, hitting the box, he watches as it starts to break open. "Yes! Your turn!"

I hit the box, and the tool goes flying out of my hand. I look at Ao'nung "Oops."

He watches it and laughs, "Okay, don't take me out."

I grab another tool and pretend to throw it at him. "Don't tempt me!"

He laughs and jumps back. "Okay, fiesty forest girl."

"They can never take my forest spirit away!" I did a mini war cry then I hit the box but end up missing.

He laughs and covers his mouth. "Okay try again, I'll wait you got this."

"Alright." I hit the box again and I miss again."

He laughs again and shakes his head. "Bayou know what, you will get it next time.

I groan and fall back, then I sit up again. Ao'nung laughs and hits the box again.

Then I hit it again, this time hitting the box.

Ao'nung watches and keeps hitting it, the box was cracking!

"We are almost there.."

Ao'nung keeps the tools, hitting it harder. "Just a little more and we can open this mystery box!"

I slam a tool against the box. "Open up!"

Ao'nung hits the box one last time before dropping the tools "Okay it should be open are  you ready?"

I drop the tool and grin. "Ready."

He smiles and grabs the top taking it off and looking in. "It's just sky demon stuff."

I look into the stuff. I grab out one. "Woah." I see that it is labeled JSF45

Ao'nung looks, grabbing small things, something that was small and had a ring. "Do you know what any of this is?"

"I think I know." I point to the ring. "That's called a ring sky people where it when they get married." I grab out what looks like a laptop, norm showed me what it was when we were back at the Omatikaya clan.

I inserted the chip like Norm normally did many times before.

Ao'nung nods and watches, he pokes some items in the box. "I wonder if they tried to retrieve these."

"I wonder too." Then a video pops up and starts playing. "Video log number 47 on Jake Sully."

Ao'nung looks, his Jaw dropping. "Holy shit! That's your father?!"

I smile. "It is when he was a sky person." In the background we can see another human that looks like Kiri.

He smiles watching them. "I didn't know that's what these people looked like." He points at the red haired women that looked like Kiri. "So, is that..?"

"Her name was Grace." I paused "That's Kiri's mom. We adopted her when she was a baby."

He nodded watching the video. "Oh how sweet.."

"Yeah." I smile

He smiles, and watches the video, grabbing other things in the box. "These looked like personal items, do you think these belonged to someone?"

"I think so." I thought for a moment. "Maybe my father."

He nodded and looked at the sky people's things. "Too bad. But we should probably actually get rid of these things."

I nodded "Okay, everything except for these video logs."

He nodded and takes the video logs, and sitting them by my side, and putting everything else back in the box. "I wonder where we should dump this at.."

"Burn it probably."

...

I was walking on the beach getting ready to go back when it started raining. Slowly it started to get heavier. I grabbed my stuff and ran back inside the hut. "Ao'nung we can't go home."

I point outside . He looks out. It was now pouring and thundering. It would be dangerous to go back home. He sighs "Okay so we stay here. Spend the night." He pauses "We can have some fun."

We cleared out a big area to do stuff. Ao'nung found extra food he had and wood to build a fire. We built a fire to stay warm. We sat side by side I pulled up the laptop and we watched another video log of my father.

Ao'nung got up and went and grabbed logs for the fire for it then came back to me.

It was still pouring outside and the waves were getting up high. Tsa'lu went to clean up for dinner while Ao'nung made some fish. He slowly cooked it on the fire.

They sat in front of each other eating dinner. Fish and other stuff. Once they were done eating it was time to go to bed Ao'nung climbed up on the hammock. There wasn't any mats so I was settling onto the cold hard ground.

"What are you doing?" Ao'nung asked looking down.

"Laying down for bed."

"You're not sleeping down there." He paused for a moment "Your sleeping with me."

I laughed. "Goodnight Ao'nung." I laid down and closed my eyes. I heard Ao'nung get up and soon I was being lifted off the ground I opened my  eyes and tried to get away from Ao'nung.

"Ao'nung! Put me down!" I say

Ao'nung put me in the hammock and climbed it. They were close togther. "See? We can fit."

"It's going to be uncomfortable." I point out.

Ao'nung thought for a moment. "What if I did this?" He turned us over. I was by his chest as he was on the outside. He put his arms over me and pulled me into his chest.

I could hear his heart beating. "Ao'nu-" I couldn't even say anything as he put his hand on my mouth covering it.

I licked it. He pulled it away. "Gross!" He put his arm around my stomach.

I was slowly drifting off to sleep. Listening to the rythem of his heartbeat. The crashing of the waves, Ao'nung snoring. I would be with the Metkayina Clan hopefully forever.

This is our home.

This is our fortress.

This is where we make our stand.
