two weeks later

it had been two weeks and, since the first time jeongguk saw tae with bogum, he hadn't even bothered to go and pick him up from class.

why?

well, because bogum had been dropping taehyung off at the dorm instead.

and taehyung never mentioned anything about it so, in jeongguk's eyes, he obviously didn't care.

i mean, if someone you cared about had been religiously picking you up from class and one day they just stopped with no explanation, wouldn't you ask them about it?

well, in taehyung's case, apparently not. seeing as he hadn't even brought up the matter.

what frustrated jeongguk even more is that bogum didn't just escort taehyung around campus. he'd also been hanging out with him literally every single day.

if jeongguk needed something from the store?

"sorry, i need to get ready to see bogum."

if jeongguk wanted to hang out?

"sorry, i'm hanging out with bogum today."

if jeongguk texted him?

"sorry for the late reply, i'm with bogum."

if jeongguk asked him to chill with the other guys?

"sorry i can't, tell them i'm with bogum, i'll be there next time."

at this point, jeongguk wasn't just upset that bogum liked taehyung. he was upset that taehyung was trying to replace him.

he's really trying to replace me.

wow, some "best friend" huh?

now, jeongguk wasn't someone to hide his emotions. if he felt a certain way then he'd openly say it. however, in this situation, he decided to stay silent.

but that didn't mean he didn't act different.

everyone noticed it, even just randon people on campus. the five other guys didn't want to bring it up but they all had a vague idea since taehyung had become absent just as jeongguk's attitude changed.

even taehyung himself noticed his severe change in personality but, because he wasn't around enough to see it to the full extent, he brushed it off.

jeongguk didn't even know what to do in this situation. i mean, what could he do?

it's not like he could just tell taehyung not to hang out with bogum because tae had the right to hang out with whoever he wants. no matter how much jeongguk loved him.

even though he was in love with him, he'd never want to control his life.

he couldn't just go up to bogum and threaten him because as much as he hated to admit it, bogum seemed like a nice guy.

he hadn't done anything wrong, he simply liked taehyung.

he had a right to simply like a boy and no one can change that. no matter how much jeongguk loved that boy.

as much as he wanted to, jeongguk didn't hate bogum. not at all, actually.

was he jealous of him? fuck yeah.

but did he dislike him? no.

the only thing that he disliked was that his best friend was ditching him for a guy he met like two weeks ago.

at the end of the day, jeongguk just wanted taehyung to be happy and he could tell that taehyung was happy when he spent time with bogum.

however, just because he likes bogum, it doesn't mean he can just cut off his six friends including his so-called "best friend". his so-called "everything".

his ggukie.

and you know how, whenever jeongguk needed something, taehyung was always busy with bogum?

well, when taehyung needed something, jeongguk was never busy.

"ggukie, can you get me something from the store?"

he'd go right away.

"jeongguk, can you help with this homework?"

he'd explain as much as he could.

"hey, can you clean the dorm while i'm out?"

he'd make sure it was spotless.

god, we haven't even argued for two weeks for fucks sake!

taehyung and jeongguk hadn't even had a petty or rediculous fight in the past two weeks which was the most shocking thing.

the campus was so much quieter than usual. the nurses office was always empty.

no crazy pranks. no racing down the halls. no gucci shoes or bucket hats in lost-&-found.

to be honest, no one knew how much they'd miss the chaos until now, now that it was gone.

right now, it was just taehyung and jeongguk in their dorm.

taehyung was bored so he decided to go bug jeongguk.

bad idea.

why?

well, because jeongguk was done being a simp.

if taehyung didn't like him then he was just gonna get over it.

if tae's gonna be a bitch then so will i. he thought.

as jeongguk was sitting at his desk, on his laptop, editing a video, he felt a tap on his shoulder and sighed deeply.

"i'm not doing anything for you." he immediately said.

taehyung pouted, "i didn't ask and i wasn't going to."

"good. you can go now."

taehyung crossed his arms and started playing with jeongguk's spinning chair, causing him to swivel around.

"do you mind? i'm working." he said, not aggressively but with a tone that showed he was serious.

apparently taehyung didn't hear that because he thought it was still a game.

he played with jeongguk's hair and continued to whine, "ggukie c'mon, let's watch tv."

he ignored him.

taehyung smirked but continued to whine nonetheless, "don't ignore me~"

jeongguk sighed, "if you wanna watch tv, why don't you head to bogum's dorm. i'm sure he'd love to have you."

although the argument wasn't very serious, the sarcasm and tone of jeongguk's voice changed the whole atmosphere.

"what's that supposed to mean?" taehyung asked, a hand on his hip.

jeongguk spun around on his chair to face him. he looked up to him and spoke, "well, am i wrong? i'm sure if you texted bogum that he'd welcome you with open arms. besides, you seem to enjoy his company more than mine recently anyway."

taehyung was slightly taken aback by the grave expression jeongguk held.

"you're my best friend jeongguk, is it a crime to want to hang out with you?" taehyung rolled his eyes.

"i never said that. i'm just suprised that you actually wanna hang out with me after you've treated me like an errand boy for the past week while you were off chilling with someone else. ditching your friends." jeongguk answered, with just as much attitude, before he stood up and walked past tae and went to put his shoes on.

taehyung called out to him, "what the fuck is your problem? huh?"

"i could say the same to you." jeongguk deadpanned, pulling on his jacket.

"look, if your jealous of bogum or something-"

"who said i was jealous of him? why should i be?"

taehyung went silent.

"so you're admitting that i have a reason to be jealous? so you know exactly what you've been doing, huh?"

"what are you talking ab-"

"don't play dumb. if i have a reason to be jealous then you obviously know why, right? you said it, not me." jeongguk said, grabbing his keys.

"where are you even going?!" taehyung yelled, slightly embarrassed.

"out."

and with that he opened up the door.

as much as taehyung didn't want to admit it, jeongguk's last words stung slightly.

"hey, if you get lonely, i'm sure you know who to look for...

apparently it's not me."
