August 14th, 2014~ four months after Bucky and Becca went on the run
Avengers Tower, New York City

Mary and Steve exit the elevator, each holding a box full of their clothes, Tony had decided that it was best for the two siblings to move into the tower after what went down in DC. Mary agreed and that meant Steve did as well.

"T? Where do we put the boxes?" Mary asks as Tony walk into view, quickly taking the box from his Mama Ree.

"Mama Ree, you know you can't be lifting heavy things." Tony says, looking at Steve, "You're the super solider, why is she carrying the heavy boxes?"

Steve sets the box down on the floor, raising his hands in defense, "I tried to stop her, but she said it wasn't that heavy." He replies, "You know there's no stopping her."

Mary huffs in frustration, "Just because i'm pregnant, doesn't mean i'm useless, Anthony." She snaps, running her hands through her hair. The godson looks at his godmother, he knows what she's dealing with, when she told him Bucky was alive and that they had shared a night together before he took off, and that resulted in another child that was currently growing inside of his godmother; he had built a wristband with Jarvis in it to keep track of her vitals and how the baby was doing. Tony and Steve both agreed that she needed the support of her family so without her knowledge, Tony had convinced the remaining Avengers to move into the tower as well to help Mary. The two men let Mary believe she was the one who orchestrated the move, when in reality, her two boys did.

But Tony knew how his godmother felt when she was being treated as 'useless'. She despised being not able to be of use for her family.

"I know, Mama Ree." Tony reminds her, "You're not useless. You never have been and you never will be." He says, "I just want to make sure you're taking care of yourself properly." He tries to reason with her.

Steve places his hand on the small of his sister's back, causing her to look up at her brother, then to look back at her godson, "I've been pregnant before, Tony. How do you think Becca came into this world?" Mary quips, "I can lift the light things, put the bedrooms together maybe?" She suggests.

Steve nods, "I think that's a good idea, Lizzie." He says, "Give them the motherly touch." he adds.

Mary smiles down at her stomach, the bump normally wouldn't be visible at four months, but with her tiny figure you could almost make out the roundness of the doctor's bump. She hadn't anticipated having more children, especially not once Bucky had been presumed dead and he had given birth to Becca. But Mary wasn't complaining with the new addition on the way, she just had no idea how to tell Bucky and Becca. She had been left a burner phone in the mail two weeks after her husband and daughter left. Her only thought was that Becca wanted to keep in touch while on the run with instructions to not make calls on the phone but to only answer them. So she had no way of contacting her husband and daughter unless they called.

The mother waves at the men before walking off to find the bedrooms her and Steve will be staying in. When she walks into the bedroom labeled 'Mama Ree', she opens the door, smiling at the décor already in the room. Pictures of her family through the years were placed on the dresser and walls. She had a reading nook against a wide window that overlooked the city. Her room was lined with fairy lights, illuminating it softly while her bed was a deep purple, Mary's favorite color.

Mary sat on the window seat as she looked out to the New York City skyline. She smiled softly as her hands went to her stomach, Mary never pictures herself having more children once Bucky had been presumably dead and Becca had been taken from her. But this baby inside of Mary was her little miracle, she was certain that her body chemistry had been frozen, but she didn't know if that meant her ability to have more children. She was grateful for the little gift growing inside of her.

"You don't know how special and precious you are, my little miracle." She murmurs quietly, "You're very loved by so many people. Your Pa and big sister love you so much, even though they don't know about you yet. Uncle Stevie loves you and so does your big brother Tony. We'll protect you with everything we have." The mother whispers to her unborn baby as she looks out the window, the city lit up in lights and cars. The world around her had changed, but she stayed the same, her body never aging, never growing old and dying. She didn't know how long she would live, if she would see her brother die now that he was out of the ice. Would she see Tony die, would she see everyone she loves pass away as she herself stayed frozen in time.

Mary knew Becca had been affected by the serum, but was it because Mary was pregnant with her when Schmidt injected her with the serum? Or was it because it was now apart of her DNA. Mary didn't know, but she wanted to find out. She wanted to know if her unborn baby would be the same as Becca, or was the baby human and would age normally or slower. She planned to find out once the baby was born.

Present Day
Sokovia

Mary sat inside the quinjet, hearing the commotion and the team through the com in her ear as she watched on her laptop what Tony was seeing thanks to Jarvis. Becca was with her Uncle Steve on his motorcycle fighting off the Hydra agents to the best of her ability.

"Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said, language?" Tony quips as he flies around through the trees, shooting down Hydra guards as he flew past them.

Mary hears her brother sigh over her earpiece, "I know." Steve grumbles as explosions are clear over the coms, "It just slipped out." He adds.

The doctor laughs as she types out coding on her laptop with Jarvis's help, when she hears her daughter, "Buddy, you get to put three dollars in the swear jar back at the tower." Becca quips to her brother.

Mary smirks, "I really like my idea of the jar now, it's been getting full very fast." She teases as she stands up, walking around the jet, she doesn't have much to do since she's not skilled in weaponry or fighting skills like her daughter. She's not a skilled archer, or a trained assassin, nor is she a genius like her godson or a super soldier like her brother. But Mary is still a valued part of the Avengers, the glue that holds them all together they all call her. She's their doctor, their friend, emotional support and a mother figure to most of them. She cares for them like no one else has ever done before, and it makes the team feel valued in more than just saving the day.

As the fighting continues, Mary looks over at the jet door, seeing it open. She hadn't pushed anything that she can remember. The woman steps towards the opening, pulling out a gun from a holster, she may not be the best trained at weaponry, but she was skilled to defend herself. "Hello?" She calls out when a blue light flies past her.

"We have enhanced on the field." Steve says through the coms quickly.

A teenager, no more than nineteen possibly comes into view. The boy hums, tapping his chin as he looks Mary over, his hair is white as snow, he's Sokovian, Mary finds out when he finally speaks, "The Avengers left you all alone?" He teases.

"Who are you?" Mary asks the boy, "How did you even get here.." He's one of the enhanced, but what's his power. She wants to ask more questions but the boy is a hostile enhanced.

The boy shrugs, smirking as he speeds to her, "Wouldn't you like to know." He says as he looks her over once more before speeding off, a trail of blue and silver following after him.

Mary staggers, sitting down on a seat in the jet, her breathing is heavy. She presses her fingers to the com to talk to the group, "I've met the enhanced. He's just a teenager." She says to the team quickly, still processing what happened to her.

"Are you okay, Mary?" Steve asks, "Do one of us need to come get you?"

"No, focus on the mission. I'm fine, promise." Mary replies as she rubs her hands across her pant legs, she looks herself over, she's skinner than she used to be. Natasha and her had to get new clothes that fit her properly because everything she owned before made her appear to be swimming in her clothes. The year had not been kind to her, and she was still figuring out how to deal with the world and her own little world at the same time. Her demons were slowly consuming her every time she was left by herself.

"Clint's hit!" Natasha calls out to the group, Mary's mind snaps back to reality as she begins to get the medical bed ready for Clint as quickly she can.

"Can someone transport him to me? I can work on him here and stabilize him with what I have here." Mary says, she pulls her hair into a small ponytail as she moves around the jet, gathering all that she needs to help Clint. Steve and Tony converse behind the scenes. Mary looks over at the forgotten laptop, seeing Tony close in on the base, shoots his repulsers  at the Hydra guards.

"I can, Lady Mary. " Thor replies to Mary, "I will bring him to you as soon as your brother and I take down these Hydra soldiers." He says, Mary can hear lightning from over the coms and from looking out the window. Her hazel eyes wide when she hears the boom of the thunder and the crackle of the lightning. She has always been amazed at the powers Thor holds within him, She had always been curious about Mythology. Schmidt had dedicated his life to the Norse Mythology, it sickened Mary but also intrigued her as well to learn more about her Norse friend.

"Thanks, Thor." She says softly as she backs away from the window, "Vis, set up everything I need for Clint, heart monitor, heating blanket." She lists off as Thor comes into view with an unconscious archer.

"Yes, Mrs. Barnes." Jarvis replies when Mary and Thor set Clint onto the medical bed. Mary begins to hook him up to an IV Drip and a heart monitor. The Norse god watches his friend work on Clint with ease. She sprays a sterilizer onto the wound before placing fresh gauze. Mary wraps it securely.

"You make this look easy." Thor says in amazement, "I know that if you were to visit Asgard you could rival our head healers." He says. A blush creeps onto Mary's cheeks. She dismisses Thor's words with a wave of her hand as she walks around the table, pulling out a keypad and typing in what she's done to Clint.

"I highly doubt that, Thor, really. I'm no one special." She says quietly.

Thor's blue eyes widen in shock, "That is not true, Lady Mary. Not true at all, without you, I know Stark would be worse in his drinking, Captain Rogers would feel alone in all of this, and the team would be sorely lacking." He says confidently, "And without you, Little Warrior would not be here with us today."

Mary's face gives her friend a small smile, her eyes shining in gratitude, "Thank you, Thor." She whispers, wrapping her arms around her giant and buff friend, "It means a lot hearing that."

"I know you've been through a lot, we all know it's been difficult for you to readjust to the world around you. But you're doing your best at the pace you need." Thor reminds her, "We're all here for you, Lady Mary, never forget that." He adds, locking his blue eyes with her hazel ones as they pull away from each other's grasp.

Hours later, the team is all onboard the jet as Tony flies them all back to the Tower. Mary looks down at Clint as he opens his eyes, "You'll be just fine Clint." She tells him softly, looking over the chart Jarvis printed out for her, "I had to call her." The doctor adds, the archer's eyes widen slightly before he regains him composure.

"How did she take it?" He asks quietly.

"Once she knew i was taking care of you and handling it, she calmed down." Mary answers, "The two gremlins are fine too, I checked in with them as well." She teases, drawing a small laugh from Clint. Mary walks to the other side of Clint, checking his hearing aids, "I'll need to replace your hearing aids again. You really need to take better care of them."

The archer sighs, nodding, "I know i do. I'll take better care of the new ones." He says, the doctor smiling in approval. She hears her daughter call to her as she turns her head to see Thor, Steve, Tony and Becca standing over the scepter.

"You know, the light of the scepter really brings out your eyes." Mary teases all of them, the men and Becca laugh lightly. The mother makes her way over to them and Steve wraps his arm around his sister, sighing briefly when he feels her ribcage.

"Did you eat?" He asks his sister as Becca walks over to her Aunt Natsaha, sitting beside her and Bruce. Mary shushes Steve as Thor and Tony look her over.

"Yes, I did. You all watched me eat, remember?" Mary replies, her fingers twitch nervously at her sides, she hated being questioned like this even though all of them were only looking out for her. She still had trouble eating full meals, opting for a protein shake instead of actual food most days.

"Mama Ree, you need to gain the weight you lost back." Tony says, concern etched onto his facial features, "I'm worried about you, we all are."

"I know, but i'm fine, how many times do i have to tell you that i have it under control?" She asks them, "I wont slip up or relapse or anything. And none of you are to tell Becca." Mary states, her voice sharp and quick, she doesn't want Becca worrying about her mother because in Mary's mind, there's nothing to worry about. But the others know that that isn't true.

Steve sighs, rubbing his hand up and down Mary's back to try and calm her down, "I know, just promise us you'll eat something when we get back to the tower, okay?"

Mary nods, raising her hands in the air as a sign of surrender, "Alright. I'll eat something, should i just make the whole team food?" She asks, "I'll be in the kitchen once everything is settled down, so should i just make food for everyone?"

"You don't have to-" Tony starts but his godmother is quick to stop him, her hand raised infront of his mouth.

"Let me do this." She pleads, "Let me take care of all of you, okay?" She says, causing the three men to look at her with sad eyes. She's still wanting to be the mother figure to everyone, wanting to take care of them like a mother would.

The three men nod in agreement, "You're coming to the party on Saturday, no backsies." Tony quips, changing the subject to lift the tension in the air.

"Party? Tony you know how out of hand your parties can get. You and Rhodey literally destroyed the Malibu house back in 2010." Mary questions her godson, her arms cross over her body in a judging manor, "If we have a party you'll keep your alchohol intake to a minimum?" She asks.

Tony nods his head, pulling his godmother into his arms. He kissis the top of her head, "I promise, you don't need to worry about that, Pep has been making sure i'm clean." He whispers to her. Mary watched her godson in the past spiral after his parents died into heavy drug and alchohol abuse, when he was tewnty-three she had him put into a rehab center for five months. He came out sober but when he was kidnapped it changed him once more. His drinking started again, causing Mary, pepper and Rhodey to become concerned. And in 2010, his Arc Reactor was leaking poison into his system, slowly killing him. It was his birthday party in 2010 when he took a turn for the worse and Rhodey had to shut the party down. The two men ended up both in Iron Man suits, fighting throughout the entire house and destroying it. Mary had had enough with her godson's drinking and she knew it was time for her to step in and do something about it.

"I always had loved Pepper." Mary says, smiling up at her godson, Tony smiling back down at her.

"Me too, Mama Ree, me too." Tony replies
