My eyes lit up at Nay's words. My teammates were back. After three months, they were finally back.

"Are all of them back?" I asked, hopping up from my bed and soothing out the shirt I was wearing.

Nay shook her head. "Just one," she answered. "Each one of them will be coming back one by one, I'm sure."

Okay, that was fine. They were still coming, and one of them were already back. I felt butterflies in my stomach. I really hoped it was Dex.

Lena rolled her eyes, clearly able to tell exactly what I was thinking. "You have a one in four chance of it being your boyfriend," she teased with a smirk.

I turned bright red at her words. "He's not my boyfriend!"

Nay rolled her eyes just like her niece did, not saying another word as she turned and made her way into the hallway. Lena and I followed right after her, and I elbowed her in the side for what she had said about Dex.

He wasn't my boyfriend. I didn't even know what it was like to have a boyfriend. Even the thought of having one was just... odd. I didn't want a boyfriend. Not yet. It was going to be a while before I felt ready for that.

But that didn't mean I was going to push Dex away. That was the last thing I wanted to do. I wanted him by my side, and the last thing I was going to do was push him away like I had before. I wasn't going to deny my feelings for him any longer.

Nay lead us into the meeting room, and I felt my nerves go even crazier. What if it was Dex? I'd finally see him after so long... I was still so nervous that he had gotten over me or found someone else...

I shook my head. I couldn't think that way. He had assured me that he would find no one else, and just because we had been separated didn't mean that he had gotten over me. I certainly hadn't gotten over him.

As soon as we entered the meeting room, I made my way around Nay to see who was the first of my teammates to arrive. My smile faded when I saw who it was.

"Aiden," I greeted, forcing the smile back on my face. "It's you."

It wasn't that I wasn't happy to see him, I just wished that he hadn't been the first one to arrive, because we most likely would have just gotten into a fight like we usually did.

At least Lena was there with me. We were less likely to kill each other if she was there. But that was only because her and Aiden might have killed each other.

"Oh, joy," Lena drawled with a roll of her eyes. "He's back first."

Aiden sneered back at Lena. "I'm just thrilled to see you, too," he informed her sarcastically. "What are you even doing here? You're not in the DAU."

Lena's hands balled into fists at her side. She still hated whenever she was reminded that she hadn't been recruited to the DAU, and Aiden knew that very well.

It seemed like Aiden hadn't changed at all in the three months he was gone. I wasn't really surprised. Physically, he hadn't changed much either. His hair was a little longer and he seemed to have gotten even more in shape, but other than that he hadn't changed much at all. Especially his personality. But I shouldn't have expected much.

"So, how was your summer?" Lena asked him, though I could tell by her tone that she didn't really care. "I'm sure it was filled with thoughts of Kristie along with thoughts of how perfect you are."

Aiden scowled at her. "And I'm sure yours were filled with wishing you could be on a team."

"Is that going to be the only thing you use against me or are you going to come up with something new?"

"I'm pretty sure I could come up with a few other things, girly,"

Lena made a face. "Ew, don't call me that."

Nay rolled her eyes at my bickering friends. "I'll leave you three to catch up," she said, and I wasn't so sure if that was a good idea. "I need to go see if anyone else has arrived."

"I sure hope so," Lena drawled. "If someone doesn't show up soon, there's going to be a dead body on the floor."

"I wouldn't kill a girl, dumbass," Aiden glared.

Lena glared right back at him. "I wasn't talking about me."

Nay said nothing and left the room, and I really wished I could have gone with her. I really didn't want to have to deal with Aiden.

"If you're back, does that mean the talking RV's back, too?" Lena now inquired, and this perked my interest immediately. I'd almost completely forgotten about RV, we hadn't needed to use him in so long.

"Yeah, RV's back," Aiden shrugged, as if it was no big deal. "You can probably go say hi to him if you want."

"And leave the two of you alone?" Lena laughed, looking from me to Aiden. "No, thanks. The last thing I want is for this place to blow up."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Thanks for trusting us," was all I said.

She shrugged. "You know it's true."

The door then opened once again to reveal the beautiful redhead that we were all familiar with. Though I was happy to see her, I wished she hadn't been the second person to arrive. Especially because Aiden was there.

"Kristie!" Aiden grinned, running up to her and wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. I rolled my eyes at him and Lena gagged.

The redhead giggled as Aiden let her go. Her hair was long once again and was its proper color as it flowed down her back.

"How was your summer?" I asked her before Aiden could, and he gave me a look that told me he was very annoyed, either by the fact that I had asked Kristie the question first or because I was taking her attention off of him.
"It was nice," she nodded, and I couldn't really tell if she was telling me the truth or not. "The members of the DAU I was sent off with and I were able to find a little bit about my past. Not much, but enough to go on."

"Well, that's good," I smiled, happy that she at least got some answers in the months that she was gone. "It's definitely a start."

She seemed happy with the few answers that she got, and I was glad she was. I was sure we'd end up helping her with her past eventually, and I'd be happy to do so. Even though I didn't have many memories of my parents, at least I knew who they were. Kristie didn't know and didn't remember anything at all.

The door opened again, and I hoped that it was Dex so I could finally see it again. When I saw that it was someone very muscular, I knew exactly who it was. Without a second thought, I jumped up and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

When I pulled away, I smiled up at him. "You're back!"

But my stomach dropped when I really looked at the guy that I was hugging; the guy that I had just kissed. This wasn't Dex.

"Well, that's one heck of a hello," the guy in front of me laughed.

I nearly screamed as I pushed away and gaped up at this person. "Who are you?" I asked.

Lena was smirking as she stood beside me, her hands on her hips. "Well, you sure know how to tell somebody hello," she teased, and I felt all the color drain from my face. "I wonder what Dex will say."

I gulped, still horrified by what I had just done. "Who are you?" I repeated.

The guy before me grinned. "You don't recognize me?"

I really focused on this guy's face, which had some familiar aspects to it. He was wearing glasses, and he had long black hair. There was only one other person who had those two features that I could remember. And if it wasn't Dex, then it must have been...

"Anthony?" I practically screeched, slapping my hands over my mouth.

He laughed. "Bingo."

"What the hell happened to you?" Lena demanded, practically pushing me out of the way so she could stand in front of Anthony.

"I worked out over the summer," he answered simply with a shrug, as if it was no big deal that he now looked completely different. "This was the result."

"You got taller too," she continued, looking impressed. "You're taller than Aiden now."

Our team leader frowned as he moved to stand beside Anthony. "No way in hell."

But alas, Lena was correct. Anthony was now a good two inches taller than Aiden, which meant that our team leader was now the shortest guy on our team. I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Aiden turned and glared at me. "Shut up," he snapped. I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Lena's right," I couldn't help but voice. "He's taller than you."

Aiden's whole face turned white. Originally, Aiden was the second tallest boy on our team. Dex had been the tallest while Anthony had been the shortest. But now that Anthony was taller than him, that meant Aiden was the shortest. And he clearly didn't like that at all.

"You've gotta have some kind of genetics that make you look like that," Aiden pouted, crossing his arms over his chest unhappily. "There's no way you can get like that just by working out for three months. No way."

"My grandpa used to look like this," Anthony shrugged, and that pretty much proved Aiden's point to be correct. "I got my powers from him, so I wouldn't be surprised if I got this from him, too."

Aiden mumbled something about this being unfair, and I rolled my eyes. That boy was just never happy, and I didn't think he ever would be. Kristie could reciprocate his feelings and he'd still find something to complain about.

"I'm still in shock that you look like this," I couldn't help but confess, looking at how much he really had changed. He was no longer scrawny and stick-thin, and he wasn't shorter than me. He was almost as muscular as Dex, and almost the same height as him now as well. I couldn't get over how drastically he had changed.

"Well, he's probably the hottest guy on your team," Lena smirked, looking Anthony up and down once again.

"I take offense to that," a new voice said, and we turned toward the door to see that my final teammate had returned. Dex stood there, smirk and all, just as gorgeous as ever. My feelings definitely did not waiver.

"Dex!" I smiled, so happy that he was there. "You're back!"

His smirk only grew when his eyes landed on me. "I don't get a kiss hello?"

But Dex wasn't the only one that was smirking, and I couldn't help but feel a little worried. I had no idea what she could have possibly said to him.

"Violet's already given someone your kiss hello," she said snidely, that teasing smirk on her face like it always was.

Dex blinked. "What?"

"This guy right here," Lena continued, jabbing her thumb in the direction of my newly chiseled teammate. "The new and improved Anthony."

"What are you talking about?" Dex asked, only growing more confused by everything Lena was telling him.

"She thought he was you without even really looking at him and she kissed him," she shrugged, and I could tell she was trying her hardest not to laugh because she was biting down on the inside of her lip.

I didn't know how Dex was going to respond to this. It wasn't like I had meant to kiss Anthony, but I knew that Dex didn't like it when I was with other guys. And this was especially bad because he used to think I liked Anthony.

But suddenly, Dex burst out laughing, and I felt my whole face turn as bright red as a tomato. This was not the response I was expected from him, and not the kind of reaction I wanted to get from him either.

"Why are you laughing?" I demanded, feeling like a little child as he laughed at me.

"Because that's hilarious," he answered, wiping a tear from his eye as he tried to calm down.

My face only turned even redder. "No, it's not!"

"You can't say I'm the only guy you've ever kissed now," he grinned back at me.

"That doesn't count!" I nearly shrieked. "It was an accident!"

I couldn't believe this. He'd just gotten back, and Dex was already making fun of me. Didn't he want to kiss me? I didn't want to kiss Anthony.

"Are you sure about that?" Lena now questioned, looking Anthony up and down once again. He seemed to get shyer and shyer every time she did that. "I mean, Anthony's pretty hot now. I wouldn't mind kissing him."

"Then you can kiss him all you want," I snapped. "He's not the one I want to kiss."

"Then who is the one you want to kiss?" Dex asked with a smirk.

"I was so excited about you guys coming back," I huffed, turning away from him and completely ignoring his question. "Now I just want to be left alone again."

"Well, that's just too bad," Dex grinned. "Because we're here to stay."

"For now," a new voice cut in, and we turned to see that Hank and Nay were making their ways into the room. "We're not guaranteeing that you won't be split up again."

I didn't want that, but I definitely didn't want Dex to be making fun of me either. But I guess that was just who he was, and I was going to have to deal with it. I liked him too much anyway.

"Today, you guys should rest up and get situated," Nay informed us, and I was kind of disappointed that we weren't immediately going to start training or doing missions again, but I guess I understood where she was coming from. "Tomorrow, we'll be giving you a fairly simple mission to see how you all respond to working together again."

"I hope it's not window washing again," Aiden grumbled.

"Or finding another cat," Dex sighed.

Lena seemed very annoyed that she was here for this conversation since she wasn't going to be apart of any missions we were going on. I couldn't help but feel bad for her, since this was something she had really wanted. Why hadn't the Director let her in?

"You all can go unpack now," Hank said, waving us out of the meeting room. "You all can catch up with each other as well."

"I'm going to my room," I announced, the first one out the door.

I only got a few steps down the hall before someone came after me. I knew for a fact that it was Dex without even having to turn around.

"Hey, hey, hey," he called out, grasping onto my arm and turning me back toward him. "Wait up."

My friends made their ways to their rooms, Lena following Kristie into ours, but now without winking at me and doing a lude hand gesture. I stuck my tongue out at her.

"What?" I snapped, pulling my arm from his grasp. "Here to tease me even more?"

He smirked. "Maybe."

I glared at him before turning on my heel and continuing down the hall. "I've got better things to be doing."

"Hold on, hold on," he laughed, grabbing onto my arm and spinning me back around to face him once again. He smiled down at me and brushed his hand against my cheek. "You've gotten even cuter."

I stared up at him flatly. "Thanks."

He only laughed at me again. "And you haven't changed a bit."

"I've been waiting three months to do this," he informed me, and before I could ask what he was talking about, he cupped my face in his hands and bent forward to kiss me softly on the lips.

I'd missed this feeling. I'd missed it a lot. I'd almost forgotten how much I loved kissing him. His lips were rough, but they were so warm. They felt amazing against mine.

When he pulled away, I really didn't want him to. "I missed that a lot," he told me, placing his forehead on mine. "Missed you a lot."

"I missed you too," I smiled, and I couldn't help but feel a little shy. "I'm glad you didn't find anyone to replace me with."

Dex smirked and flicked me on the side of the head. "I told you the only girl I was going to find was my mother," he laughed. "Though we didn't find her. But we got some leads."

"That's still good," I told him as he pulled his head away from mine. "That just means she's definitely out there, right?"

"Right," he nodded. Then, as he thought of his missing mother, he turned sad. "I just wish I knew why she left me."

"Hey, I'm sure she had a good reason," I assured, grabbing onto his hand and squeezing it tight. He squeezed mine right back. "There's no way she would ever leave you unless she absolutely needed to."

He nodded before shaking his head to rid himself of any negative thoughts about his mother. "You're right," he agreed, and then looked around to see if there was anyone else around us. There wasn't. "Hey, want to find a place to go make out?"

I rolled my eyes and smiled, punching him lightly in the stomach. "Go unpack."

I turned around, starting off toward my room and leaving him in the hallway. But before I went into my room, I turned back toward him and smirked.

"But after? Definitely."
