Sky's POV
When Ty's hand slipped from my own, I screamed.
I'm not ashamed to say that I screamed as my best friend fell into the void.
I didn't know what to do. I knew I had to do something but I couldn't focus. I felt so dizzy and tired, but I didn't know why. It just seemed to be getting worse as time went on.
Maybe I could do something, I mean, my powers might work, and it was worth a shot...
I prepared to push myself down until I heard the sound of footsteps behind me and felt someone are wrap around my chest, pulling me away from the edge.
"Let me go!" I shouted "I have to help him!"
As the person spoke, I recognised the voice to be Jason "Adam, think for a minute!" He hissed, his voice hollow. "I know you want to jump down and help him. I do too. But it's obvious to everyone right now that you have no energy left, and even if you did, you still can't control your powers and you can't just fly out of the void. If you jump, you'll be in the same situation as Ty and he won't want that."
"Jason! Please let me go!"
Jason pulled me back further and shook his head. "Only if you promise me that you won't jump off..."
I bit my lip and sobbed slightly, nodding "Fine..."
Jason nodded and let go of me, still gripping my arm to steady me.
I slowly began to make my back over to the others, who were slowly regrouping after being blown back by the explosion.
Right by them, a small black and purple egg could be seen, several purple particles floating off it a disappearing.
My energy was seriously leaving me fast to the point where I was being supported by Jason, almost all my weight on him.
When we finally reached the others, Ashley asked "Adam? What's wrong? You look awful..."
"Yeah, and where's Ty?" Mitch asked with a frown.
I looked down and said nothing, Jason eventually telling them what had happened to Ty.
The others just stared in shock, tears falling down several of the generals faces. Mitch yelling in anger and swiping at the dragon egg with his sword, only to have it teleport several blocks away.
"We need to leave..." Jin finally spoke up, wincing from the wounds in his back "I don't want to be here any longer..."
No one objected as we walked to the now open Ender portal. Now with only thirteen people instead of fourteen...
~~~
"We're gonna have to break the news to the recruits eventually." Jason sighed "We can't hide it from them forever..."
We'd made it back to the Team Crafted base a few hours later.
No one said anything to anyone as we came back. The only person who did was Mitch who talked to Bella. At the sudden news of what happened to Ty she broke down crying into her boyfriend's shoulder. Mitch just silently held onto her tightly, refusing to cry in front of her.
We all now sat in the infirmary as everyone's wounds were treated. I'd been given a strength and regeneration potion so I was feeling better and Ian had been given a vast and crutches for his leg. The doctors said his leg would be fine and he won't need the crutches in a few days thanks to several healing potions, but he's been told not to fight for a month or so.
Jin was just sitting on a bed with Quentin while he treated the cuts on his back he'd received from the obsidian.
"I know... We'll need to tell them sooner or later..." Bodil muttered.
"Not today though... To much has happened... I don't think any of us can take telling them so soon..." Tyler replied sadly.
I hadn't said a word. I just didn't know what I could say without breaking down. So I just kept looking at the floor, the events in the end just kept replaying over and over in my head.
"Uh... Seto?" Quentin called out from where Jin was sitting "This doesn't look too good.."
Jason frowned "What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about this..." Quentin muttered, holding up his hand to reveal it covered in what looked like blood and some sort of purple liquid, almost like blood.
"What is that?" Jerome asked in shock.
Quentin shrugged "I have no idea... I've never seen this before."
Seto got up and walked over to Jin, going behind him to look at the wound.
Seto reached out and touched the purple blood, frowning as he brought it took his face and smelt it.
"Ender Venom..." He finally said with a frown, wiping the poison off his finger with his cloak.
"What?"
"Ender Venom... It's a poison found only in the End, it's rare, but happens occasionally when people hurt themselves in the end." He said, shaking his head.
"So what? Is it gonna kill me?" Jin asked, his face clearly showing that it was painful.
Seto shook his head "I doubt it... It works really slowly through the body and I know the antidote..." He said, walking over to several shelves and starting to take several items off of them.
"What I want to know is what the hell happened to Adam?" Ian asked, shaking his head and glancing over at me "Losing energy all of a sudden like that isn't normal... He could barely stand by the time we left the End."
"I don't know why that happened." I finally said, not taking my eyes off the floor "But as soon as we were in The End, I just... Lost all my energy, I felt like I was running a marathon while not even moving..."
From the corner of my eye, I saw Seto walk around the room. As he grabbed different ingredients off the shelves, he said "Ok... I can't think of a perfect explanation for this but I'm going to guess rivalry..."
"Rivalry?" Jerome asked, tilting his head in confusion "What do you mean by rivalry?"
Seto stopped and took a bottle of some dark blue liquid and read the label as he did, he said "Look... It's never been fully confirmed... After all, it happened thousands of years ago, but it's believed that when Notch and Herobrine created the original three realms, the Overworld, the Aether and the Nether. The Ender Dragon and Wither tried to destroy it, waging war or the brothers and their realms.
"Why would they do that?" Mitch asked, frowning in confusion as he wrapped an arm around Bella, who had remained silent.
Seto shrugged "I don't know... Some say The Void sent them. Others say they just grew jealous of what the brothers had created... No one knows and frankly, no one wants to ask..."
"Ok... Well what does this have to do with rivalry?" Quentin asked with a frown.
Seto sighed "Stories say that while the war was brutal, it was worse between the Ender Dragon and Herobrine. They full on despised each other. From people's descriptions over time, they say that the war eventually ended and Notch created realms for the two mobs, those being the End and Limbo, although Herobrine and the Ender Dragon still hated each other. People say it's the reason endermen almost never associate themselves with other mobs, especially ones under Herobrine's command along with why enderman are only found in the Overworld and the End and vies versa with other mobs."
"So what's your point?" I asked, looking up and at him.
Seto had moved so that he was now at a brewing stand, mixing ingredients together fluidly. "My point is that I imagine the effects from that feud would have rubbed off on the two realms, the End and the Nether. So since you're a Brine, you shouldn't be in the End. It recognises you as a creature of Herobrine, which is technically classifies as an enemy. It probably drained you to stop you from being too much of a threat."
"That's stupid! I don't serve Herobrine anymore and I plan to never do so again!" I muttered fiercely.
"Still doesn't change the fact that you share the same DNA as him..." He said, putting several dark purple leaves into the stand, the potion becoming a dark red for some strange reason.
I went silent on that. After everything Herobrine made me put everyone through, I wanted as little to do with him as I could. I'd give up all these stupid powers in a heartbeat if I could. Anything to be rid of his mark on me. It still really bothered me that I now shared the same DNA as him. It felt like I might as well have the word 'Brine' written on my forehead.
Seto sighed as he carefully took the potion off the stand and walked over to where Jin was sitting. "Ok... Fair warning, this us gonna hurt like the nether..."
Jin bit his lip and nodded, wincing as he turned his back to Seto to show the ugly exposed purple cut, pulsing with the venom.
Seto carefully poured the potion onto the wound and it hissed as the liquid dripped onto the skin and into the cut.
Almost immediately, Jin screamed in pain and yelled several choice words as Seto did his work, eventually stopping as Seto did too, panting heavily.
"There." Seto said, nodding to Quentin and stepping away, letting Quentin come forward to dress the wound properly. The purple venom seemed to be gone, leaving only a painful, but otherwise normal looking, red cut along his back.
"So what are we gonna do now?" Jerome asked.
Seto sighed and leaned back on the desk "That I wish I knew..."
~~~
Everyone went to bed pretty early that night, no one really wanted to talk, especially about what had happened.
I sat on my bed with a sigh. I honestly had no idea what to do. I mean, my best friend had just fallen into the void and most likely died. Ty didn't deserve that, not after everything that had just happened...
'Why did I let him come? If I hadn't, he wouldn't be dead now!' I didn't care if Ty didn't want me to blame myself, I still felt like it was my fault.
Soon I couldn't stand just sitting on my bed and sulking so I lay down and tried to go to sleep, hoping I wouldn't dream, I'd had enough for one day.
As you can probably guess, I was dead wrong...
~~~
I felt heat scorch my face and I opened my eyes, turning and looking around in shock to see I was in an all too familiar place.
The Nether.
I stood on the banks of a large lake full of lava, soul sand surrounding the lake and several magma cubes jumping along and into the lava.
'The Nether?!' I thought in a panic, 'What am I here for?! Did I get teleported here in my sleep or something?!'
"Well this is a surprise..." A familiar voice eventually spoke behind me, making my blood run cold.
By instinct, I drew out my sword and turned, swinging it swiftly but touching nothing.
Standing behind me a few meters back was a familiar God, virtually the last person I wanted to see.
Herobrine.
He looked the same as he always did, although his eyes seemed dimmer and his shirt was bloody. Plus, I could see a sword wound on his chest. Done by yours truly...
"What do you want Herobrine?" I snarled, anger and hatred lining my voice.
Herobrine smirked in reply "Nothing... Who says I want anything?"
"Why am I here?" I growled, ignoring his question.
"I don't know... I was just wondering around by the lava lakes, when I see you here. It seems your powers are getting stronger... I'd almost feel proud if you were still on my side."
I tightens my grip on my sword and said slowly "What have my powers got to do with this?"
Herobrine rolled his eyes at me and said simply "It's an ability I have, so you do too. It's called Dream Vision. If you sleep and think of someone or someplace while doing so, your spirit is taken to that place and you can see what's happening, and no one will be able to see or hear you."
I paused, taking in this new information, Dream Vision? Well then... That actually might come in handy...
"How can you see me then?" I couldn't help but ask, lowering my blade, but not sheathing it.
Herobrine smirked again and said "You get your powers from me, so of course I can see you." He said simply "Frankly, if you're here, you must have been thinking of me, I'm touched..."
I glared at him and opened my mouth to reply when the god cut me off. "Then again, it just makes things easier for me really."
I frowned at this "What are you talking about?"
Herobrine shrugged "Well Notch has been on my case about 'making things right.'" he said, using his fingers for quotation marks. "So he wants me to give you a little information that might be both useful to you and entertaining for me..."
"Spit it out already!" I growled, my already thin patience wearing even thinner.
"Fine then, if you wanna be like that..." Herobrine said, rolling his eyes before smirking.
"Your friend Enderlox... He's still alive..."
Heyyyyyyy.....
Sorry that this chapter seems a bit boring and left off with a cliché cliffhanger that everyone could see coming... Little really sucks at writing... She's also terrible at updating...
Littlewolf: This chapter had to happen in order for the story to continue idiot! And they know! I've told them many times before!
Whatever... Oh! I should mention, Bigwolf here... I had taken over Little's account for October but she never updated during it and left for a while so she's letting me do the authors note as an apology... Which sucks...
Littlewolf: I NEVER AGREED TO THIS!!!
And that's why I've tied you up for the moment...
I did the same thing last year but she never updated during that time so you guys never knew... LIKE THIS YEAR!!!
Anyways, thanks for reading and be sure to leave a comment or vote if you enjoyed it. >:)
Or not, I don't really care....
Actually... I do care... Do it or Little gets it! *holds knife to her throat*
Littlewolf: NO! We don't threaten the readers!!
<End Transmission>
(If you don't understand this, then check out my random book for an explanation... But yeah... It's an inside joke so ignore it if you don't get it... XD)
