Chapter Thirty One:

GAME END

-...-

In the halls of the mansion, cold and quiet, sat a boy. In his hands, a white piece of chalk. He sat in front of a hallway wall, writing the same things over and over again. He had started at one end of the floor, and was nearing the other half. For a moment, he finished writing, and then looked up at the wall, and then down the hallway. With the flooring covered in purple mist, his neon purple eyes stared widely at his marks.

"No More." He whispered under his breath. "Time is up."

-...-

The worst kind of feeling had taken over them as they ran down the basement hallway. Seto was able to save everyone from Tyler's stupid trap, but now the group of Seto, Sky, Ant, Sub, and Jason ran down the hallway through a thick mist of purple. The whole entire mansion was covered in it. And everyone could heard a loud ticking noise, like the inside of a clock. Seto knew that Tyler had done something stupid. He was pretty sure that none of them had caused it.

They got upstairs to the first floor, and stopped in the hallway. On the walls were words, written in an almost childish handwriting. "NO MORE" and "TIME IS UP" and things of that sort were written in big letters.

"It's just like what we saw in the Annex! No more was written on the walls down there!" Jason told the group, and Sub nodded his head.

Seto shook his head. "C-Come on! We need to locate Tyler!"

Seto then turned and ran to the stairs, and then up to the second floor. His group was close behind, however when they got up to the second floor, the mansion had distorted again, and they found themselves in the left hallway of the first floor again. Right where they last were. They were confused, and Ant, having remembered his last experience with the mansions changing, was horrified.

"Where'd Seto go!?" Sky gasped.

"L-LOOK!" Jason pointed down the hallway.

The group looked down the hallway to see a figure standing in the sea of mist. The figure stepped forward, and his glowing purple eye shined. His sick grin made Sub step back in fright. Onity stood there, glaring them down. His eyes landed on the mute, and his memories of him from last loop replayed in his head. With that, he transformed into the Oni. He stretched out his limbs, and then jumped in for the attack.

But with quick action, Sky got in front of his three remaining friends, holding his golden sword high, blocking the Oni's attack. His heroic action didn't do much, as the three just witnessed as the Oni used it's insane amount of strength to snap the golden sword in half.

"S-SKY!"

Sky was then pushed violently into the wall. Blood splattered everywhere as the ticking continued on. The three backed away, trembling as they knew they were helpless. The Oni then drew a number eight beside the body before returning to it's work, grinning down at it's prey.

-...-

Seto found himself alone in the hallways, walking quickly around in the purple. As he passed the bodies, he found himself infront of a door on the second floor. The loud ticking continued, and it gave Seto a headache. But he had to move on. He was running out of time. He reached out for the door in front of him, turned the knob, and walked inside.

He of course stopped and stared at the bloody mess that was the small square room. Tyler was dead at the other end of it, crushed up against the cracked wall. The whole room was a mess, as there were signs of something running into the walls and furniture. Burn marks. Magic? Seto looked down, and right at Tyler's feet was a book. It was open, writing all over, inside. As seto stepped closer, he could see a set of rules written out, and a name signed in purple at the bottom right.

"What is...-" Seto reached out to grab the book, but the moment his hands touched it, he gasped in pain.

"A-AHHH!" Seto tripped and fell back, a severe amount of pain making his head and body shake.

Seto's eyes widen as he realized what the book was. His body trembled, not in pain anymore, but in a new found fear. Tears came to the man's eyes, and there was no stopping them from falling to the floor. Seto tried to stand up, but found he needed the to lean against the wall to support himself.

"I.....oh my god.....I c-can't believe t-this!" Seto gasped, having trouble even speaking as to all the things that had just flashed through his eyes.

Seto looked back at Tyler, and the sorcerer continued to cry.

"Oh, Tyler." He spoke sorrowfully. "I-I'm so...so...so sorry. N-not just for this, but for everything."

Seto tried to take a step forward, but just fell to his knees.

"I'M SORRY I CAN'T STOP THIS NOW!" Seto cried. "I CAN ONLY MAKE IT GO ON! IT HAS TO GO ON!"

Seto shook his head, wiping away the tears from his eyes, even though it really didn't help.

"And i'm sorry that we can't be there to help you through most of it. That you'll be on your own." Seto continued, then reaching forward and grabbing the journal, taking it into his arms. "But I can see it all now, Tyler. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!"

But Seto knew that time was slowing, and he had to stop apologizing to Tyler. Seto took a moment,. But was able to stand up again. He took one last look at Tyler, and then turned to exit the room. He walked down the hallway slowly, having to lean against the wall again. He still cried, and in his arms, he still held Tyler's journal. In his head, a story. In his memory was everything had shouldn't be there.

To explain, the moment Seto touched the journal, the journal gave Seto the knowledge of everything. Everything that has happened in the mansion and everything that will happen, and from everyone's point of view. Seto knew how it all began, and how it would all end. He knew how Tyler was dragged into this, and he understood how Onity became the killer he was. He knew what part he had to play, and he knew there was no other way to go about continuing the show.

Seto could remember it all, and he could see the deaths of his friends from the first loop, from the second, and the third and the fourth and so on.. He saw the numbers rise and rise and rise. He saw all the people who would be dragged into this genocide. And it killed him to know that he wouldn't retain this information for long. It killed Seto to know that once this part of the story was over, Tyler would be all alone again.

So Seto continued on, back down stairs. He already knew who had died and who was still there as he nearly tripped down the stairs. He knew that at the right time, he could turn the corner into the right hallway, and make some distance between him and Onity. And that's what he did.

Seto got down to the halfway point of the right hallway, and turned to face the battle going on. He led the journal out in his hands, and flipped to a page. The page had a clock draw on it, as well as a spell. He looked up at the battle scene and was just in time to witness the oni murder Ant. Ant's scream echoed in Seto's ears. He could hear the screams of Ant as he dead in all the loops, and the silence of all his deaths as well. And it all hurt. He flinched as tears still fell down his face.

Jason and Sub were alone, and watched as the oni drew a nine beside Ant's broken body. Their trembling eyes looked pass the Oni, and they saw Seto preparing to cast a spell. And even to their despair, they too knew there was only one thing they could do. Die. Seto watched this, and he watched their deaths from the last loop and next loops as well. He found himself in tears again to the memory of Jason saving Sub's life in the first loop. And now here they were again.

The Oni followed their gazes and saw Seto. The beast frowned, turning to attack the sorcerer, but was grabbed and pulled back by Sub and Jason. Jason used his powerful jet packs to beat the monster as best as he could. And in his surprise, the Oni turned back into it's human form, Onity. Onity shoved the two off of him, and then jumped back up.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Onity shouted, glaring at Seto.

"GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!" Jason yelled, ramming Onity into the wall.

Onity hissed in pain, but then turned to Jason and Sub, his eyes showing pure anger. From down the hall, Seto watched painfully as Onity put out his anger on his two remaining friends. Jason and Sub were killed, and their bodies fell to the floor, disappearing into the mist. Ten and Eleven O'clock. Onity then turned to the sorcerer, but watched as the last of the pawns was chanting the last of the spell.

Suddenly, the blue magic that had surrounded Seto now blasted off, and filled the mansion. The purple mist that covered every inch of the building was now blue. Seto was nearly running out of breath as he continued to cast his last spell. He felt dizzy, and yet he stood straight up, still crying.

"NO!" Onity continued to walk forward, his face showing confusion and hatred, and even a hint of fright. "NO! YOU CANT DO THIS!"

And Seto finished his spell casting. The blue light glowed brighter, and the ticking slowed, and then started again. But this time, it was going backwards. The clock on the fifth floor was going backwards. The loop was restarting again. Onity began to run towards Seto, screaming.

"NO!" His voice gasped, but even he was nearly out of breath.

"This is it for m-me!" Seto gasped, collecting his last breaths. "You can do it, Tyler!"

Seto collapsed to the floor in a flood of more tears.

"End this madness, Tyler! And then let it be no more!"

The clock on the fifth floor stopped after doing back it's 12 hours, and the loop was once again reset.
