Chapter Five: 1
EnderOni Loop One
Chapter Five:
1
-...-
Seto shook his head and shoved the book with the Ender eye patch at Tyler. Tyler was still confused. What was Seto doing here? What was this book? Was that Seto's blood by the front door? What was going on?
"That's not mine." Tyler said again, pushing the book away.
"You wrote your name in it! How can it not be your book?" Seto exclaimed, finally getting Tyler to take the book.
"Seto? SetoSorcerer?" Mitch asked, walking towards Seto.
"Oh no. Please don't tell me there are more!" Ian cried out.
Ian, Mitch, and Ant went over to Seto while Tyler flipped through the book Seto claimed was his. It was only half full, and only had about 40 pages. Many pages had been torn out, leaving empty space in the book. It was stained with blood, it smelled old, and it had an odd Ender Eye patch sewed to the front.
Tyler opened to the front page were it said "To the me of the past", as well as had his name in his hand writing. Ignoring the other's talking, he flipped to the first page and began to read.
"To the me of the past,
I'm pretty sure you're on your first loop, so listen up. Read carefully. I don't really know what will happen to me or how this will all end, but this damn book is all I have to vent too. I seem to be the only one who has remembered anything, which doesn't play on my part. They all thought I was playing around until the first death happened. The clock is turning one and it'll happen faster then you please.
Anyway, i don't have much time to continue writing. I think Sky wants to talk with me. Seto also doesn't trust me. Here are the important things to note. That safe room is the only room the monster can't get to. It'll go into the bed room, but it won't go past the iron door. In fact, it dosn't seem to know it exists. And Seto can do something to that door to make it accessible from both ways.
Also. Don't forget this.
Never forget this.
- Loop 2"
"What the shit?" Tyler spoke, looking from the book to Seto.
"You read it?" Seto asked, pushing past Mitch and Ant.
"I don't understand. I didn't write this. Loops? Seto, what the hell are you doing? Is this a trick?" Tyler didn't want to believe it, nor did he fully understand it.
Seto sighed and crossed his arms. "I found it back there. I'm not tricking you."
"Then how?" Tyler asked, still skeptical
"We are in a mansion with a monster that wants to kill us. Why the hell would i want to play games right now?" Seto narrowed his eyes.
Tyler didn't answer. He closed the book and held it against his side.
"What's in the book?" Ant asked.
"Nothing." Tyler sighed before Seto could say anything.
Ant, Mitch, and Ian were all very curious, but knew it was not the best time to stress stubborn Tyler. Tyler turned to Seto, clearing his throat.
"Anyway. I didn't hear what you told them. I was reading."
"I understand." Seto nodded his head. "I said Me, Brice, and Jason all got letters telling us to come play this horror map at 12 AM. We believed it. We got here, looked around a bit, and then the monster showed up. We survived the attack and hid in a room upstairs, but i'm pretty sure Brice is blind now. Permanently."
Tyler had a hard time imagining that. And to think Brice was blind now? Not even temporary blind. Blind for good, apparently. Sure, Tyler had gotten hurt, but he recovered through most of it.
"Jason and Brice are still upstairs." Seto sighed.
"We found a safe room. That's where everyone else is. We should take Jason and Brice there. There is also a first aid kit that we can treat Brice with." Ant said.
"I planned on staying down here a bit more. I wasn't finished looking around." Seto looked down. "However, i would be very happy if you took care of the two for me."
"We can't leave you down here, Seto. Not alone." Mitch crossed his arms.
Seto sighed, pausing to think.
"Well. Ian, Tyler. You two can go get Jason and Brice and take them to this safe room. Mitch and Ant can stay here with me and we can go back up to the safe room when finished."
"I think that sounds fine." Mitch said. "You guys can give word to the others."
"How long do you intend to stay down here?" Tyler asked Seto.
"Only for a few more minutes. Depending on how long Jason and Brice take you, maybe we might get back before you." Seto answered.
Tyler looked at Ian, who didn't look too up. As long as they could hurry by without running into the Oni, they would be fine. If they did run into the Oni, they could sprint their asses back to the Enchantment room. At least, that was Tyler's plan. Gripping the book with his hand, Tyler nodded his head to Seto.
"We'll be off then." He said. "You guys be careful. Though, I don't think i need to tell you that."
Seto dipped his head slightly. "Same for you two."
Tyler and Ian walked off hesitantly, leaving the three in the room. Seto let a deep breath out and turned to Mitch and Ant.
"So what did you want to look at in here?" Ant asked.
"Jason found a key in this room. I found that book. I was wondering what else this room had. If anything at all." Seto said.
"I guess it's safe just to look. Maybe there is yet another key." Mitch agreed.
The three went to work scanning the bookshelves. It was quite for a few minutes, but then as Mitch passed Seto, Mitch began to ask questions.
"Hey, Seto? What....what was in that book?" He asked.
Seto paused.
"I honestly don't know. And I don't think Tyler does either. It would be best to leave him alone about it." Seto said.
"Alright." Mitch nodded his head.
"Oh, and Mitch?" Seto looked away from the books in front of him.
"Yes?"
"Who is all here? In this mansion?" Seto asked.
Mitch frowned. "More then there should be. let's see.....There is me, you, Ant, Tyler, and Ian. Then Jerome, Bashur, Bodil, Sky, Sub, and Ty. And last, you know, Jason and Brice."
Seto felt a shiver go up his spine. So many people that he knew. So many people in danger.
"So that's..." Ant, who had walked over, counted momentarily. "13. 13 of us in total."
"And that's 13 too many." Mitch replied.
"13 is an unlucky number, isn't it?" Ant thought aloud.
"Let's not start that." Mitch stopped Seto from replying.
"Anyway." Seto sighed. "It looks like there isn't anything else here."
"Can we head back now?" Ant asked.
Seto nodded his head and the three made their way around the messy room. The hallway was quiet, and seto eyed the blood near the door as they passed it. When they reached the corner of the hallway, Seto saw something odd and stopped the two
"Wait!" Seto let out a sharp whisper, but Mitch didn't hear.
Mitch walked passed the corner, stepping into a purple mist that was low to the floor. Mitch froze when he saw, at the top of the stairs, the EnderOni.
"Ah!" Mitch jumped in fright, Seto pulling him back.
"I said wait! Didn't you see the mist!?" Seto hissed.
"No!" Mitch pulled back.
Mitch and Ant, holding their weapons, jumped around the corner, Seto hesitating to join them. Mitch had his Stone sword while Ant had Sky's golden sword. They forced themselves to fight, since there was nowhere else to go, their bodies beginning to tremble. The Oni began to walk down the stairs.
"You two keep it distracted." Seto told Mitch and Ant. "I can use spells against it, but i don't have the enchantment table with me, so it will take a few moments more of concentration."
Mitch and Ant nodded his heads, keeping eye of the Oni. When the Oni got to a certain point, Mitch and Ant decided to take the first move, jumping out to attack the Oni on both sides. Seto got straight to work. Their next battle had begun.
"LET'S GO!" Mitch screamed with anger
-...-
Tyler and Ian had gotten to room 203 without any sign of the Oni. Knocking on the door, they waited for someone to answer. It took awhile, and the two looked at each other awkwardly. Then they heard the door handle turn and the door slowly open.
"Hey, Set-" It was Jason, and he stopped cold when he saw Tyler and Ian instead.
"Jason." Tyler nodded his head.
Jason stepped back, letting the two inside.
"T-Tyler? Ian? How did you know we were here?" Jason asked, surprised.
"Tyler? And Ssundee?" Brice spoke louder from the other side of the room, sitting upright in the bed.
"Yes." Ian answered. "Seto sent us. He's downstairs with Mitch and Antvenom."
"So Seto is okay? That's good." Jason sighed, closing the door behind them and locking it.
"He wanted us to check up on you. Also, we have a safer room that you all can stay at. And where you arn't all alone." Tyler said.
"We also have a first aid kit. Seto told us what happened." Ian said to Jason.
"It still hurts, but i'm not as in much pain as before." Brice said.
Tyler, Ian, and Jason walked over to Brice, whom sat on the bed with part of Seto's cloak tied around his head, covering his eyes. Dried blood was visible on his face and he looked pitiful.
"We'll get you cleaned up when we get there. You can also have something to eat, which I assume you are all hungry." Tyler said.
"Very." Brice sighed.
"Jason. I have a question." Tyler turned to Jason. "Seto didn't seem surprised to see us. It's like he knew we were here."
Jason cleared his throat. "Well, he did know you were here."
"How?"
Brice pitched in. "He did this sort of spell thing in the enchantment room last night. We found out all that blood was your blood and...and well I ran out of the room and got myself hurt."
"We didn't know you were here, Ian. We didn't know Mitch was here or Ant." Jason said.
"Is anybody else here?" Brice asked.
"Me, You, Jason, Ian, Seto, Mitch, Ant, Bodil, Bashur, Sky, Sub, Ty, and Jerome." Tyler answered. "13 of us. One Oni."
Jason and Brice frowned at the number. It was more then they wanted to ever hear.
"So you've run into the Oni. We guessed that from the Enchantment room. You look better, despite what the room looked like." Jason said.
"I'm still pale." Tyler looked at his arms. "kind of tired. But i didn't want to sit around in a bed all day."
Brice's head dipped down at Tyler's words. Those words stuck to him.
"You have bandages, I see." Jason said.
"I did that." Ian said. "And it looked like you two might need some as well. The bandages will be a lot better then Seto's cloak."
"They would be."
"So!" Tyler said. "We should head do the safe room now. We're taking longer then normal. I'm sure Sky and the others are getting worried."
"Yeah." Ian nodded.
They helped Brice out of bed and let Brice lean on Jason's side while walking out the room, making sure they left nothing behind, like Jason's helmet. They walked quietly down the hallway, reaching the point where the hallway branched off, and you could see the stairs. That's when the group paused. They all heard it. Tyler could almost smell the purple mist leaking from the stairs.
"THE ONI!" Tyler yelled. "Ian! Take Brice back to the safe room! Jason, come with me!"
Jason, Ian, and Brice were taken back by Tyler's sudden actions. They didn't fully snap out of their trance until a loud snap was heard from downstairs. A spell, possibly? Jason handed Brice over to Ian, then joined Tyler.
"Should I get help!?" Ian yelled, but it was too late. Tyler and Jason raced towards the stairs.
"I-Ian!" Brice shook, frightened. He could hear the commotion. "Let's go!"
Ian shook his head and grabbed Brice, pulling him towards the room down the hall. They ran in, getting to the Iron door. Ian banged on it, yelling.
"OPEN UP!"
The door was opened by Bodil on the other side, and Ian and Brice raced in, almost tripping on the stairs. They made everyone else in the room jump up. Sky, Bashur, Ty, Sub, Jerome, and bodil watched in confusion.
"Ian!" Sky raced over. "Brice?!"
"T-Tyler, J-Jason, Seto, M-mitch, and Ant are all downstairs with the Oni!" Ian said.
"Seto? Jason? Brice?! How did you guys get here!?" Bodil freaked out.
"W-we got here and we got locked inside and the Oni showed up! It's no time to explain!" Brice said.
"What happened to you?!" Ty asked, seeing Brice
"I...I can't see. I'm blind now. T-the oni. It did this." Brice answered, out of breath.
"Come and lie down." Sky said, pulling Brice over to a bed. "You need it."
"What do we do!?" Bashur asked.
"We should go help!" Jerome answered.
"Let's go!" Jerome and Bashur seemed more worried then the rest.
"We don't have enough weapons!" Ian said.
Ty and Sub pushed past Ian and joined Jerome and Bashur. Ty turned back.
"You all stay here, we're going to go help!"
Unable to stop them, Ian, Bodil, Sky, and Brice were left in the room. They were left to sit around, worried out of their minds. Ian and Sky tended to Brice's injuries, while Bodil sat quietly, watching. Their stomachs were sick.
-...-
When Tyler and Jason got down stairs, it was obvious how out of breath Seto, Ant, and Mitch were. They were struggling to balance the Oni between each other. Jason launched himself at the Oni again, knocking it against a wall. Tyler went over to Seto.
The Oni hissed, getting back up and grabbing Jason by the jet pack. The Oni threw Jason into Mitch, then turned to Ant, whom was bleeding far more then the others. Seto tried to cast a spell, but the spell failed, and The Oni struck Ant. Tyler screamed, taking his weapon, Sub's spear, and launching at the Oni. The Oni moaned in pain when the spear was jammed into it's side, then pulled back out. A purple blood stained the spear. It reminded Tyler of the glass plate.
"FACE ME YOU BASTARD!" Tyler screamed at the monster, getting it to try to attack him.
Tyler dodged to the side, slashing the Oni again in the other side. The Oni's blood splattered against him, though he ignored it. The Oni then turned around, glaring down at the troublesome boy. It's eyes landed on the book, and it's mouth opened to reveal sharp teeth and a slimy tongue. it's breath was hot and it fogged up Tyler's glasses. This surprised Tyler, and gave the Oni the chance to slash at Tyler.
The Oni aimed for a lethal blow to the head, but was stopped by Seto. Seto had a spell that kept the Oni from moving. Tyler stumbled back, falling on his behind.
"HURRY UP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY, MORON!" Seto screamed, having a hard time holding onto the spell.
Jason and Mitch pulled Tyler out of the way and Seto ended the spell, the Oni slashing at the air, it's claws going with such force that it created a noise breaking the air. If he had gotten hit, Tyler knew for sure he would have died on impact. That Oni was deadly. It was out to murder him.
"GET OUT THE WAY!"
Turning their heads, four newcomers raced down the stairs. Bashur, Ty, Sub, and Jerome gasped to see that chaos that was already created.
"YOU IDIOTS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" Jason yelled.
Ty narrowed his eyes and grabbed a golden sword that was on the ground. He attacked the Oni, getting it to aim at him. Bashur, Jerome, and Sub helped Ty by distracting it. They gave the Oni too much to focus on. They made the Oni confused. Seto grinned, finding this the moment to use another attack spell. The spell light up the room, another cracking sound being heard. The walls shook. When the light faded away....the Oni had faded away as well. The mist began to clear up.
and what was left behind was something that had escaped the minds of those whom were still alive.
Blood all over floor, walls, stairs, ceiling, doors. Both Red and purple blood. some of the flooring was cracked and paint chipped off the walls. Oh, but that wasn't it. Laying against the wall to the right of the front door was Antvenom. His head slumped over, his body broken. A puddle of blood surrounding him, still oh so slowly getting bigger and bigger.
And on the wall above him, spelled out with his blood, was the number one.
"ANT!" Jerome screamed.
Jerome, Mitch, and Seto ran over, trying to get Ant up. Sub, Bashur, Ty, Tyler, and Jason watched in horror. Bashur had to turn away to throw up by the stairs. It was all to much. And their hearts sank when Ant didn't get up. When Ant didn't even twitch.
Ant was dead.
Sub and Bashur had run back up stairs in retreat, heading back to the safe room. Jason and Tyler slowly walked closer to the stairs, never actually going up them though. Ty went over to help Mitch and Jerome lift Ant out of the pool of blood. Seto joined Tyler and Jason. Hardly any words were said. Their bodies trembled in exhaustion and shock.
Tyler gulped. He remembered.
"The clock is turning one." Tyler whispered loudly, his eyes glued to the bloody one written on the wall.
The clocked turned one
and it was faster then anybody had pleased.
Ant was taken back to the safe room. He was put in one of the twelve beds. He was never bothered again.
