Anirudh has strict principles and ethics to adhere while the Zamindar his kaka had old aged traditions and rigorous rituals to be followed. He was as stern and determined as his nephew.

If the walls of the haveli had any choice it would have voiced his decision of having the Roy Choudarys evacuated, the mismatch of words between Anirudh and his kaka hyped as all others too were disquieted.

"Chi chi chi.... Naak katvadiya tum dono ne mera. Roy Choudary hoke bhi yesa kaam." His kaka said pointing Anirudh and Som while all others were worried.

"Kya kaka? Abb ho kya gaya. Dekhiye na Som bhi ek acha doctor ban gaya aur Neelima bhi padi likhi hai upar se dono ek doosre se pyaar karthe hai." Anirudh tried to convince his kaka.

Shooking his head, his kaka was more stern "kabhi nahi. Ek sidhi sadhi ladki, Roy Choudaryon ki bahu nahi ban sakthi. Aur patha nahi woh ladki ki jaat dharm kya hai? Tho bas bath katam."

Anirudh whined with irritation, he yelled "kya jaat kya dharm kaka? Sab ek Barabar hai is duniya mein. koi bhi kisi sey kam nahi. Yeh jaat dharm sab manushya ka kiya dhar hai."

His kaka, with rigid face "Firbhi,"

Having enough, Anirudh angrily screamed "Aakir aapko kya chahiye? Kaka. Yeh samaj ki do teen din ki sahrahana (appreciation) yah apke bete apne Som ki zindagi bar ki kushi? Aap hi nirnay lijeye."

"Humare kaka ko tho Som dada ki kushi hi sabse jyadha hai. Humare kakashri toh mahaan hai, Som dada ki kushi hi chunenge." Batuk said with a huge grin as inside he was flying in happiness. If it was Yes for his brother then his line would be easily cleared.

Both Anirudh and his kaka gave him a look, it was enough for him to zip up his mouth.

The Zamindar sat himself on sofa, rolling his hand stick and eying his beloved nephew. He had never said NO to him, though not supported always stood by him, protecting and praying for him.

Adjusting his spectacles, Binoy sat himself beside his dada and whispered to him. It was for minutes as the twin brothers continued all others were concerned.

"Teek hai." All startled and tried to hear as their kaka continued "Manzoor hai. Muje pehle bhi apne beton ki kushi hi sabse jyadha thi aur abb bhi."

All elated at his decision while Batuk being over joyed jumped and hugged his kaka from side adruptly, when all looked at him puzzled, he instantly backed afraid of being caught.

Som hugged his dada and took blessings from the elders, all moved getting back to their work.

Trilochan looked his nephew longingly, Anirudh too sat himself beside him and put his hand on his kaka's as if assuring everything alright.

"Kaka..." He said looking at his kaka's moistened eyes.

"Anirudh.... tum... yeh." His kaka stammered.

"Jantha hoon kaka, aap sirf mere bare mein sochkar inkaar kiya. Patha hai muje. Lekin filhal mere bhaiyon ko mere zaroorat hai." He said trying to convince his kaka, being well known of his kaka's dreams for him and his married life.

"Tera zaroorat ko kya? Unko kya karoge. Isi hath se tuje pal poshkar bada kiya toh kya itna bhi nahi jantha mere bathije ke mann mein kya hai. Kyun?" His kaka replied him.

"Kaka, abi nahi. Abhi hume Som ke bare mein sochna chahiye. Aur mein bahut kush hoon." Saying this, he left the place for he knew next his kaka would speak about Bondita, and why not his kaka was the only one who witnessed the growth of their bond from near.

The next day, all were more busy than usual, helpers were the most.

All gathered in the mid hall. Batuk scrutinized his eyes and was puzzled at all his dadas attire, even them too for not knowing the reason for being asked to dress up such.

Their kaka spoke "Toh, abb mein aur Lakshmi milke Som ke sath Neelima ke gar jathe hai aur tum dono" to Anirudh and Veer "anpe baba ke sath jaouge" leaving them more confused but both accepted.

Interupting them, Batuk squealed "Aur mein?"

All men bawled together "Gar pe rahoge. Chup chap."

Annoyed at the resentment from all, Batuk winced back to his room making faces.

It was a warm early afternoon, as the Roy Choudarys settled. Trilochan and his wife at Neelima's house before her worried mother while Binoy had his sons seated at the Chakraborthy's, initially it startled Anirudh yet he remained calm at the request of his father.

"Hum seedhe bath karenge, toh apne bete Som ke liye aapki beti Neelima ka hath mangne aye hum." Trilochan said to Devyani, Neelima's mother.

"Aap yehaan achanak? Koi kaam hai kya Binoy sahab?" Rajeev asked in prospect while Saudamini was delighted spotting the same person who complimented her. It was Veer.

"Aap.. kahan aur hum kahan, Malik." Devyani spoke adjusting her pallu more down.

It was then, Bondita ran behind Dev into the mansion. Seeing them all she greeted everyone and stood beside her sister Saudamini, holding her little brother's shoulder who stood before his sisters.

"Yesa aapko pareshan karne ke liye mafi chahtha hoon. Par aaj aapse kuch mangne ke liye aaye hoon." Binoy said in a polite manner to which Rajeev eyed his wife who was standing beside him, equally suprised.

Lakshmi spoke gently "Aap kya bath kar rahe hai, Devyani ji. Hume humare bachon se jyadha kuch bhi nahi, upar se aapke hone wale damad ek dactar bhi hai aur aapki beti ka acha dhyan rakega."

While Sumathi said "kya, bhai sahab aap kya kehrahe hume kuch samaj nahi aarahe" seeing his husband.

Noticing the girl's mother hesitation clearly, Trilochan said "Hume aapse kuch bhi nahi chahiye humare bahu ke sivaay aur agar aap bhi aapki beti ki kushi chahthe toh haan kijiye, turanth."

As Veer and Anirudh gazed their father, adjusting his specs Binoy said, "Mein apne bete ke liye aapki beti ka hath mangne aya hoon." Startling all at once, everyone including little Dev.

"Teek hai, Malik. Yeh sab toh badi bath hai, aur mein aapko kese inkar karonga yeh janthe huye bhi ki aap sab meri beti ka kayal rakhenge, ussey kush rakenge." Devyani said feeling fortunate for her daughter's future to which the Roy Choudarys grinned while Som and Neelima secretly eyed each other in happiness.

Composing himself, Rajeev said "Yeh aap kya keh rahe hai. Spasht se keh hiye."

Anticipation grew in four, unaware of the proposal. Anirudh's eyes shifted from Saudamini to Bondita, Saudamini confusedly looked at Anirudh, Veer abhoring Bondita to the best stared her while Bondita blinked at Anirudh. All their hearts raced in an unknown anxiety fearing the next.

Even Dev disliked the idea of being separated from his sisters, feeling little possessive.

It was then Binoy walked to the girls, keeping his hand on each's head. He said "Past me meine galathiyon ki toh abb un sab ko sudharna chahtha hoon. Isi hath se meine bhi Bhowmik babu ke sath milkar Saudamini ko bada kiya, aur humesha yehi laga ki ek din woh humare Roy Choudaryon ki bahu bhi banegi. Par paristhi badal gayi tab." Anirudh and Bondita looked each other while Binoy continued "toh abb mein ussey apne gar ki bahu bankar ussey beti jaise pyaar dena chahtha hoon. Joh bhi huha uske sath, bahut galath tha. Abb mein usko sari kushiyon dena chahtha hoon."

All were perplexed at Binoy's sudden proposal, it left Bondita unsettled and before Anirudh trying to interrupt.

Binoy kept his hand on Veer's shoulder and said "Mera khoon nahi hai firbhi mere liye Veer mere Anirudh jaise hi hai. Veer bahut acha ladka hai upar se Science teacher bhi hai Oak leaf School mein. Jantha hoon Saudamini pareksha deh rahi hai iss saal, aur yeh bahut achi baat hai. Uske padayi ke baad hi vivah agar apki icha ho tho."

His proposal astonished Anirudh and Veer the most while Saudamini was all nervous. Sumathi was the happiest among all as she wanted her to have a happy married life just like other village girls. Moreover, girls of her age were married and had children too.

Rajeev stood and walked to Saudamini being well known of her past and guilt, he put his hand on her head caressing "Tum kya chahthi ho damini beta, sabke samne apne nirnay bathadho. Kuch bhi ho, tumhare baba tumare sath hai."

All eager eyes were at her, Saudamini saw Binoy's desperation of wanting her while Sumathi too wanted her to say Yes. For once she stared at Anirudh and Bondita who remained quiet later hummed yes looking down.

Binoy was the happiest now while Rajeev asked her again to confirm, Sumathi had brought sweets and as all fed each other the sweets. Bondita and Dev hugged happy Saudamini in joy.

Dev took a piece of sondesh and forwarded it to Veer, he too was happy for he liked Saudamini yesterday itself but never expected her to be his wife this soon.

Grinning at Veer, Dev said "Aap toh bach gaye."

Anirudh and Veer looked at each other, it was then Dev said "Arey, aap bach gaye isi liye kyunki aapka vivah mere damini didi se ho rahe dita di sey nahi."

Veer got up to get Rajeev and Sumathi's blessings while Anirudh held Dev's shoulder and asked "kyun aap apni Bondita didi ke bare mein yesa bola. Galath hai na?"

Dev rudely replied "Kyunki dita didi toh humesha gayab ho jathi hai na, toh kya var pujari se vivah karege?"

Anirudh asked "Aap humesha yese gussa se bath kyun karthe? Mujse"

Dev retorted, "kyunki muje aap pasandh nahi."

He was confused, "kyun?"

Rubbing his nose, Dev said "Kyunki sab kehthey hai ki aap mere dita didi sey bahut pyaar karthe aur woh bhi sab se jyadha aapko hi manthey hai. Maa bhi waise hi kaha."

He murmured "kash yeh baat tumhari didi jaldhi samje," and asked "toh?"

"Isiliye muje aap pasandh nahi, mein apni didi sey bahut pyaar kartha hoon. Haan chidtha tho hoon par jyadha nahi, Aapse bhi jyadha pyaar kartha hoon bas aapko patha nahi." Dev said shaking his hands in action while Anirudh suppressed his grin.

As the elders talked among themselves, Dev and Saudamini were in the lawn to know each other.

Bondita stood leaning on the pillar and biting an apple as she watched the duo talk in conclave, Anirudh silently observed her from behind.

Dashing him, Dev darted and hugged Bondita at once making her stumble and said "Yese kya dekh rahe ho? Pehle hi damini didi ko deh diya abb mein apni dita didi ko nayi doongi aapko."

It was to Anirudh, who now was embarrassed for being caught of staring Bondita while Bondita looked at the duo confused.

Dev continued "Aap kyun mere dita didi ko yese gur rahe hai? Woh aapse kabhi vivah nahi karegi." Hugging her waist "Mere didi mere sath hi rahegi."
