With throng of students at the concourse of school, Bondita being pensive absent mindly dragged herself while a voice brought her back to reality. She perceived a group of students, her seniors precisely plotting a prank against the new teacher, carefully eavesdropping their plan, giggling to herself, she thought to teach them a lesson.

While at the magnificent Roy Chowdary Haveli, the eldest heir tried to sneak out but was caught by his dear kaka who had started his session of advice for the day.

"Arey kahan ja rahe hain Barrister babu itni subha subha?" his kaka mocked at his nephew being well known of the answer.

"Aur kahan jaounga Bondita se milne, aaj uska pehla din hai na vidhyalay mein, toh bas" he got interrupted by his brother who seemed angry.

"Vidhyalay mein mere pehle din tho aap nahi aye mere sath, par boudi ke liye jaa rahe hain, sach kaha maine koi mujse pyaar hi nahi kartha, dada ka tho humesha boudi ki padi hai." Batuk said with a tinge of jealousy, being upset with his dear brother who was caring his boudi more than him and left not wanting to hear his usual typical answer while kaka eyed at his brother.

When Anirudh made his way out without giving any heed, he was again stopped as his kaka continued. "Dekh Anirudh, hum manthe hai tuje kitni parwa hai bahu ki mera matlab Bondita ki par dhyan se sunn beta, aab woh parayi ladki hai teri biwi nahi, jab mann chaha tab milne ke liye, hum aab bhi samaaj me reh rahe hain aur tumhara mann ka rishta yahan nahi chaltha, isliye behthar hoga aab tum usey chodkar apni zindagi per dhyan dena chahiye aur wese bhi vidhyalay jaa rahi hain na toh aur kya chahiye tuje agar samaaj walen ne dekh liya toh kahin tarah ki bathe karenge tum donon ka, joh mein nahi chahtha. Humne Bondita ko bhi smjadhiya yeh bath, abb tum samaj rahi ho na joh mein keh raha hoon." expecting a petty battle because of the difference of opinion they posses, he was shocked when his nephew head out after an approval nod.

Anirudh knew it would be waste of time to explain his relation with her to his kaka also he did not feel the need to explain anyone about the bond they possess so he just nodded to get rid of the situation.

While his way out, he was abruptly again stopped by a stranger, an old man who asked favour to fight a case for his widowed daughter's remarriage as her in laws were against it. He immediately agreed and asked for the details to proceed further.

At school as the classes were about to began, children were involved in their frolic conversation. While the group was ready to execute their mischief, mumbling to themselves unknown to them she was also ready for her act, exactly at that time the new teacher was passing the marked area, yet another step to fall and colour his face with black paint, she called out "New tall teacher" and when he turned back to the voice, unknowingly the boy had pulled the rope colouring his face black.  The teacher was trying to fathom the situation, while the boy's friends and fellow students were controlling the laughter at the sight of dark clown, a young cheerful loud laugh angered him while the others were astounded at her act. After which not noticing about the surrounding she fearlessly walked to the clown and said "dekha wese karni, jese barni. Kya ? anke badi badi karne se, mein dar todi na jaoun aur kya kehthe hein haan KARMA jaanthi hein aap, agar kisi ke sath ache kare toh teek agar bura kare toh hum bhi nahi bachenge, joh kiya uska dhand avashya milega. Aapko toh sharam aani chahiye adhyapak bagwan ke samaan hote hai, usey hi apmaan karna chahthe hain aap, jho galath hai isliye dubara yesa kabhi math kijiye." the boys were startled at her lecture then the bell rang indicating the commence of their classes for the day making the commotion crowd disperse hurriedly. While the teacher was bewildered to see a girl as a student later he smiled and felt proud of the doll who had raised voice against wrong fearlessly and before his inquiry she became invisible.

The first period started as the students awaited while Bondita and Batuk were indulged in their petty fight regarding their Barrister Babu while an announcement of the arrival of new teacher stopped them and as soon as the tall, neatly dressed figure entered all began their routine of singing the good morning wish while Bondita stood still with mouth opened making a good O and with Batuk's help quickly settled herself.

The teacher started "Good Morning students, My name is Rajeev Chakraborthy and I will be teaching History and English for you and to proceed... let's start being informal, first let's communicate in our language so that we can get to know each other better. Aapke naam toh mein aapki kitab se jaan loonga toh aab aap mere prashna ka uttar digiye, bavishya Nagrik hokar, badlaav ke bare me kuch bathayiye." And for more than 15 minutes he received irrelevant answers when he was about to stop them, he heared a female voice asking permission "Sir, May I?" though recognized her, he granted her the approval on which she began "Change is important as it is the only constant and I feel it extremely necessary in our society for our country to develop. Though people don't accept it, they should realize it that just like the monsoons which change for our well being, changes in society are needed for the welfare and it is unstoppable. When she stopped, the class remained silent while the new teacher applauded her, thereby the students followed. He was just awed at her flow of words and rational thinking, he was suprised to watch a girl with such principles in his era. And for Bondita, she was on cloud nine at it was unusual, though she had given appropriate answers for her school teachers, none had praised that way thereby reminding her shikshak again.

As the class got over, students rushed for their next hour so as she but stopped when heared "Thankyou doll" on turning back she noticed her new  teacher with a grin, for once she felt the need to thank him for the morning but stopping herself and questioned "Thankyou, woh kiskeliye sir aur doll, mein gudiya todi na hoon, mein toh aap ki tarah manushya hoon?" As she did so, she found him smiling widely, she looked puzzled at his act while her teacher bent down and spoke "Thanks isliye subah muje prank se bachane ke liye aur doll isliye kyunki muje teri naam nahi patha na." She responded "Bondita Das naam hai mera." She said while he again asked "tuje dar nahi kaga kya, yese unka samna karne se?" she said "dar kyun, jab mein sach ka sath de rahi hoon, Muje kisi se darne ka avashyak hogi kya? Darna toh ussey chahiye na joh galath karthe hain." Though he wanted to know her more soon he was called by the Principal which broke their initial conversation.

Later that evening, Anirudh was asked to hand over the keys to the new owner of the opposite mansion which was left by the prior owner and friend of his kaka, as he cannot disobey his words he obliged and on handing over the keys he saw a familiar face.

"Aap, aapko kahin dekha hain meine?" He asked to which the person grinned and replied "itni yaad aarahi hai uski?" raising eyebrows continued "aab aayi yaadh." Though recognised immediately felt embarrassed for his words while the person continued "Aapko kya bulaon Tulsipur ki prasidhh Barrister babu ya yuva krantikari ya Majnu?" The last word made him unknowingly blush  distracting himself from the question, he said "Mein Anirudh un,  aap muje naam se bula sakthe hai, par aap" the person introduced himself "Aap se milkar kushi huyi aur mein Rajeev hoon, vese ek bath puchon" as he nodded the person continued "sach mein itni yaad aathi hai kya?uski" making him blush more but instantly answered "Aap jesse soch rahe vese kuch nahi, voh sirf shishya hai meri, matlab kass shishya hai" he finished only to find the person to grin, he immediately excused himself from his embarrassing questions leaving him more to grin.

For a second he thought of the person's mock and his blush but decided to ignore it. While entering inside, he felt her and without wasting a moment he dragged himself to their study but stopped at the threshold only to witness her delightful face, graceful in her pink saree and puffed bottle green blouse with untied tresses, curious eyes with certain lines on her forehead and continuously fidgeting her saree end and for a moment he adored her,for some reason he liked her await for him, to be more honest he loved her await for him, then mentally snapped himself and was about to enter while he heared their conversation.

"Kahan hai Batuk, aab tak aayi kyun nahi sakha babu? Kakasasoorji ki aane se pehle muje unse milna hai" She asked Batuk who was feeding himself carefreely but his mind was in mood to tease her so he replied."Muje kya patha, shayad dada bhool gaya hoga tuje" thereby received a thump in return as she continued "kya, kya kahan tune, sakha babu muje bhoole, yese ho saktha hai kya, mein janthi hoon meri sakha babu ko, zaroor kaam mein phasse honge." knowing it to be true somewhere he felt jealous of his boudi and that's when their petty fight had again began on the question of importance to their ward, as they kept on with their fight Anirudh enjoyed it.

Breaking their fight, Batuk asked "Wese dada ko kya bathana hai tuje, itni zaroori hai kya?" She said "Haan, bahut zaroori hai, meri nehi adhyapak ke baare mein joh bathana hai muje, woh kitne ache hai, samajdaar hai, aur" she continued her praise not knowing about the strike she caused in his heart.
For some reason Anirudh did not like her appreciation for unknown teacher also felt little insecured without reason. And on seeing the clock, she said "Hey Durga maa, sade chey baj gaye, maa intezaar karthi hogi meri ab mein chali, fir milongi unse" and ran like a mad horse before Anirudh could address her.

The night paved it's way while four souls indulged in deep thoughts. Rajeev reminsed of his first day at the village his fight and about the doll of his class, Sumathi though liked the way of the stranger's stand for her, she ignored not wanting to create any hurdle for her and her daughter in their way, Bondita rejoiced about her encounter with the new teacher though the reason behind was her sakha while Anirudh felt a continuous bang at his heart, which was filled with jealousy for the unknown teacher his sakhi had praised and for some reason his dislike hiked, unknowingly the night let them to slumber.
