It was the end of world. The people surrounding us were zombies, also known as the undead. Jake was bashing their head into the ground and i was using a knife that i just found to stab them in the head. There was one way to kill a zombie and that was killing their brains. suddenly, someone was shooting at the zombies who were surrounding me and Jake. we stop killing the zombies once a group of kids who looked to be around my and Jake's age.

"come with us if you want to live!" one of the 2 girls said to me and jake.

"We don't know you guys." I said, narrowing my eyes at them.

"We just saved your lives." The other girl said.

"Lead the way." Jake said, following the 2 girls. I followed them.

we made it to the mall, the extremely populated one. once we had made inside, there were so many corpses on the ground that i almost gagged. the stench was so terrible
that not even Jake couldn't gag. other than the smell and corpses, the mall looked like  it was beginning to look like a real survival base.

"you two will be staying in the home improvement section of the mall. Alex will take you there." said one of the girls, motioning to a guy that had a sniper rifle on his back.

"just follow me." said alex, walking off.

me and jake followed alex to the home improvement section of the mall. There was 2 beds and alex left. Jake chose the bed on the left and i chose the bed on the bed on the right. We layed down on our beds and i fell asleep.

When i woke up, i heard screaming. I got up and grabbed a pistol that was on the ground. Jake was up and also had a pistol in his hand. We went down to the first floor of the mall and what we saw was horrifying. Zombies had somehow gotten in and everyone had been turned, the only survivors were me, Jake, Alex, and the two girls. I shot one of the zombies in the head, saving alex. jake shot two zombies, saving both of the girls. suddenly, a zombie tackled me to the ground and bit my arm. jake managed to get the zombie off me and he shot it in the head, he helped my up and i looked at the bite.

"shes going to turn soon, we should shoot her now." alex said, pointing his pistol at my head. i sank to the ground and started crying. "my life is over" i thought.

"no one is going to kill ash. when she does turn, thats when i pull the trigger." jake said.

"we need to end her now before she turns and bites one of us!" alex yelled.

"shes not turning." one of the girls said. i looked up and they all were staring at me.

"shes immune to the zombie virus!" the other girl exclaimed.

it was right there that i realized that my life wasnt over. i could still live until someone killed me. until then, ill protect everyone.
