its been a few days since i baked everyone cookies and had a few warheads. Jake and Dylan had loved the cookies, so did Hanna and Alex and Emily. Paola was a different story, she didn't trust my baked cookies or anything else that i baked after that. She only trusted what Emily, Hanna, and the boys cooked or baked. It was weird until she actually gave a reason for refusing to eat what i cooked or baked. It turned out that she didn't trust me at all, what's new?

"Ash, what you going to make for dinner? It is your night to cook." Emily asked me. She had given everyone a designated day to cook meals.

"i'm thinking about making something like spaghetti or something. i don't know yet." i said with a half smile.

"once you figure what you're cooking for dinner, tell me so that i can send the guys out to get all the supplies." with that, Emily walked away smiling.

hours later, i was cooking steaks with pasta. i made Jake, Dylan, Hanna, Alex, Emily, and Paola their steaks and pasta. i soon made mine once they were all eating and i noticed that there was not enough pasta for myself, i grabbed a few brownies and at down next Jake and Dylan and ate my food. Hanna tried to take my brownies but i kept them away from her. after dinner, everyone went bed. Everyone but me. i went to do my nightly rounds around the mall and thats when i saw a little boy who looked to be about six or seven years old and he was crying like something bad happened.

i walked up to the little boy and as soon as he saw me, the boy ran up to me and wraps his arms around my leg. i bent down to the little boy and picked him up. i wiped the tears from his face and he wrapped his arms around my neck. A boy who looked to be about eighteen or so came running up to me and the little boy with a hoard of zombies behind him. right as i saw the hoard, i yelled out: "Guys! Z's!". Jake, Emma, Hanna, Alex, Dylan and Paola came running to me and the two boys. they all had their guns and started shooting down the hoard. i took the boys to the main base and returned back to my friends, what i found was a lot of dead undead.

"who the hell is that guy!" Jake yelled when we all got back from the dead hoard.

"i don't know who they are but i do know is that they need our help. that little boy wrapped his arms around me the moment he saw me, he was crying his eyes out, and then they guy came running up to me being chased  by that hoard." i said. it was all true.

"my name's Ben and this is my little brother, Toby." said the 18 year old guy.

"mommy!" Toby cried.

"we lost our sisters and parents to the hoard. thank you for saving us, how can we repay you?" Ben asked.

Emily was about to say something when Toby got up and ran over to me, he wrapped his arms around my legs and started crying yet again. i picked him and held the little boy until he wore himself from crying. i then placed the little boy on my bed and he snuggled up to my pillow and blanket. i turned back to everyone else and they all just looked at me. "what?" i asked.

"you got Toby to bed." Ben said in amazement.

"its easy to get a little kid to sleep. especially when they ware themselves out." i said. after that, we all went to sleep.

the next morning, i woke up to Toby jumping on my stomach. i sat up and started tickling little Toby and when everyone saw me tickling the little guy, i stopped. Toby the tried to tickle me but failed. we all ate breakfast and Toby started asking me for a story.

"story! story!" little Toby kept saying.

i finally gave in and sat him down that night before my nightly rounds. "what kind of story do you want hear?" i asked him.

"a hero who saves everyone!" he exclaimed.

"ok then. let me think." after a few moments i came up with a story. "this is the story of the hero who saved her only friend. There was once a girl, who was named Faye, and she was the most hated kid in her school. a boy named  Blake made friends with her and helped her through all of the bad stuff that happened. one day, on their way home,  a bunch of people tried to hurt them. Faye had stopped each baddie and saved Blake. Blake had no way to repay her so he decided to save her from something very, very bad." i said.

"what did Blake save Faye from?" Toby asked.

"Blake saved Faye from the worst baddies ever! the baddies were their own parents, the people who raised Blake and Faye and gave then clothes, food, and a place to live. after that one save, Faye loved Blake for risking his life for her but he had to pay an awful price. he gave up his life to the worst of the worst. the Grim Reaper. Faye was so heart broken that she gave her life to the Grim Reaper, it was the worst thing either of them could do. then, once years had past, they became a legend. the legend said that once a girl with Faye's name and a boy with Blake's name would live a life that they couldn't." i said. i had put Toby to sleep and placed the blanket over him.

"that was a sweet story." Ben said from behind me, making me jump.

"putting kids to sleep is easy, remember?"

Ben took a step to me and placed his fingers under my chin, lifting my head up to look at him straight in this eyes. "but you do it like a mother who has had several children." he said leaning towards me.

"wh-what are you doing?" i asked him.

"thanking you for saving my little brother." he said as he kissed my lips.

i pushed him away as fast as i could. this guy was insane, kissing a girl who he didn't even know. he advanced towards me and pinned me to a wall. he kissed me again and when i refused to kiss him back, he pushed me harder into the wall. i kept refusing to kiss him and he kept slamming my head into the wall. i was about to lose consciousness and someone had slammed Ben into the wall next to me.

i felt arms pick me up. right then i lost consciousness. when i woke up, i could feel something around my head and i felt arms wrapped around me and that's when i saw Jake with his arms around me protectively. my face immediately turned the color of a tomato...
