Chapter 19
Groaning, Hyunjin turned around and almost fell out of bed if Felix hadn't held him.
"Everything okay?" murmured Felix sleepily and snuggled up to the elder after he had slipped back into bed.
"Why did you persuade me to have drinks?" Hyunjin groaned and rubbed his fingers over his aching temples.
It had gotten pretty late in the evening. At some point they had landed in Hyunjin's apartment and Felix and Changbin thought it was a good idea to play drinking games so that they could get to know each other better.
At some point, in the middle of the night, Minho, Changbin and Seungmin had driven home, while Hyunjin and Felix had snuggled into bed together.
"It was funny, wasn't it?" Felix asked and sat up yawning, which he immediately regretted, because he was terribly dizzy and felt also quite sick. "Okay, I know what you mean..."
"You stay there and I'll go get us painkillers and something greasy to eat," Hyunjin muttered, sat up and left the bed groaning.
He tapped into the bathroom with small steps, searching in the cupboard for a moment and fortunately found the painkillers relatively quickly.
The greasy food from the kitchen was the bigger challenge.
He rummaged impatiently in the refrigerator and in the kitchen cabinets for quiet a while, but he didn't really find what he was looking for.
Unsatisfied, he went to the bedroom and crawled back to Felix under the covers. He handed him the painkillers and a glass of water before he let himself fall into bed sighing.
"When the painkillers work, we have to get up! I want waffles and we don't have anything like it," he grumbled and snuggled up to the younger one.
"Sometimes you're like a baby," Felix chuckled and swallowed the painkillers before he snuggled up to Hyunjin. "I could make pancakes." He gently let his fingers wander through the velvety hair of the older.
"Or we treat ourselves to waffles and go out together. We could go shopping afterwards. I have to buy a bouquet of flowers anyway," Hyunjin yawned and prayed that the painkillers would work faster.
"We could. I thought about dyeing my hair, maybe we'll find a noice color," Felix grinned, but the next moment twisted his face painfully. "Stupid headache," he murmured.
They stayed cuddled together in bed for quite a while, until Hyunjin eventually realized, somewhat panicked, that he didn't had that much time until he had to go to work.
"Come on, baby, get up," he muttered and nudged Felix, who was about to fall asleep again.

Fortunately, it wasn't far to the shopping center, so they strolled through the huge building a short time later.
On the way to the waffle shop, which Hyunjin liked the most, they had already been to a fancy hairdresser and Felix had bought blue dye for his hair.
"What do you think if I dye my hair red?" Hyunjin asked grinning and reached for the younger's hand to pull him into a jewelry store.
"I thought you didn't have time?" Felix asked in surprise, but looked around curiously.
"I don't actually have either. But I wanted to buy other earrings," muttered Hyunjin, who spontaneously came up with the idea of buying flower earrings.
As Felix disappeared to the bracelets, Hyunjin looked through the flared earrings and was surprised to find matte black rose earrings.
"Oh," he breathed, stretching out his fingers and reaching for the little roses that took up all his attention.
"I like them."
Hyunjin almost dropped the earrings, because he hadn't noticed at all how Felix had appeared behind him.
"Then I'll probably buy them," he said with a transfigured smile on his lips and pulled Felix with him to the checkout.
"A good choice, your girlfriend will certainly like them," the saleswoman said with a fake smile as she cashed in.
Hyunjin and Felix looked at each other, but said nothing about it.
Laughing, Felix hooked up with Hyunjin after they left the store and shook his head. "Your girlfriend will certainly like them," Felix mocked the saleswoman and rolled his eyes.
"I had forgotten how exhausting people can be," Hyunjin groaned, shaking his head as well.
"It doesn't matter. Let's eat waffles and then you have to go to work."
Hyunjin nodded thoughtfully and let himself be dragged away by Felix, while he pondered which flowers he should buy for Chan. But Felix pushed his finger into his upper arm and demanded his attention.
"What do you think about Changbin and Seungmin?"
"I don't know, little one... Seungmin seems to be quite nice, but somehow also a bit shy and reserved. I don't know if that suits Binnie so well," Hyunjin replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"Maybe he just doesn't like us and he's completely different when they're alone," Felix chuckled and finally stopped in front of the waffle stand.
This also made Hyunjin laugh and he wrapped his arms around the younger before concentrating on the card of the waffle shop.
"Do you already know which one you want?" Felix asked, after they both stared at the card for quite a while.
Hyunjin nodded thoughtfully. "One with strawberries, chocolate sauce and cream," he said and just the thought of waffle made his tummy ache again.
"I'll invite you," smiling, Felix ordered exactly the same waffle twice, which didn't surprise Hyunjin at all. He knew his best friend almost inside out.
What surprised him was that Felix also ordered two milkshakes. Strawberry and chocolate, which was not surprising.
"You already know that I have to go to work right away and would like to buy flowers beforehand," he asked with a wrinkled brow, but at the same time I have to grin.
"That's why I asked for a bag and a cup carrier. Then you can buy your flower and I'll bring the cups and waffles." More than satisfied with himself, Felix smiled at the elder and accepted his change.
"If you say so," Hyunjin shook his head, still grinning.
Heavily loaded, Felix padded after Hyunjin, who was straight on his way to the flower shop.
He didn't have that much time anymore, and somehow it seemed more important to him to buy flowers for Chan than to eat his waffle while it was still warm. Although he sincerely hoped that it would be still warm when they arrived in the car.
With his smartphone in his hand, busy googling which flowers he should buy for Chan, he steered his steps quickly and skillfully through the people, so as not to ramp on anyone.
Felix followed him silently and pondered who Hyunjin wanted to buy flowers for before work. And wondered at the same time if he had missed anything, or if his best friend had hidden something from him.
But since Hyunjin was in such a hurry, he didn't ask him. Even if everything in him demanded to force the older to tell him the truth.
Sighing softly, he decided to annoy the older on his next day off until he would tell him the truth.
Meanwhile, Hyunjin looked at the flower shop's selection and just couldn't decide.
Desperately, he tried to remember if he had ever asked Chan for his favorite color, but couldn't remember it.
Sighing, he finally turned to the elderly saleswoman, who had watched curiously the whole time, but hadn't spoken to him.
"Excuse me, can you help me choose a bouquet for a friend? He likes flowers that smell strongly," he said quietly, feeling a little uncomfortable.
But the older saleswoman just nodded smiling, came out from behind the cash register and went a little further back into the store while she told Hyunjin to follow her.
"I can highly recommend Lilies and Lavender to you. The scent of these flowers is strong but also a bit sweet, which makes it not too intrusive. And because of the color, the flowers can be combined very well with gypsophila and greens."
Curious, Hyunjin sniffed the flowers and nodded in satisfaction. Due to the fact that Chan's room was not too big, the smell would hopefully spread well.
Smiling, he nodded to the saleswoman. "They smell wonderful. I really would like a bouquet of them. Oh, and I would also need some red roses. But extra, in another bouquet."
Surprised, the saleswoman nodded and set about Hyunjin's wishes to come true, while he looked around the store for a while.
The flowers looked beautiful and Hyunjin realized that he could have spent the whole day in here. The petals looked so delicate, almost fragile and he would have liked to have brushed over each one of them with his finger.
Dreamily, he walked through the store and almost lost sight of his time if Felix hadn't come into the store shortly after and reminded him that he had to go to work.
Almost at the same moment, the saleswoman called for him.
Felix's eyes almost fell out of his head when he saw the price that Hyunjin had to pay, but the older paid without even thinking about it for a moment and accepted the two well-packed bouquets.
"Do you want to tell me who the hell you're buying such damn expensive flowers for?" Felix asked, kind of curious, but also a little bit jealous. He couldn't remember that Hyunjin had given him flowers before.
Grinning, Hyunjin walked with the bouquets in his arms with quick steps towards the parking garage.
"How can you be so curious. Well, maybe it's better if you look at them before you run over to Minho with it."
Now Hyunjin grinned self-satisfied as he waited for Felix to put the waffles and milkshakes in the passenger seat to receive the bouquet.
"I mean, of course, you can keep it to yourself if you want. I just thought you might be happy to give them to Minho," Hyunjin explained with a smile and handed Felix the bouquet of roses.
Carefully, Felix pulled the paper apart so that he could see the bouquet and gasped audibly for air.
"God, they're beautiful," he murmured.
"You can still call me Jinnie," Hyunjin chuckled self-satisfied, sat down in the car and reached for his waffle.
"You're so stupid," Felix sighed, but also had to chuckle. "I would love to keep them to myself."
"You still have about twenty minutes to think about whether you want to give it to him, because then we will arrive at his place and then you should know at the latest."
"You have never given me such beautiful flowers," grumbled Felix, while he carefully placed the bouquet on the back seat and then sat down in the passenger seat.
"Theoretically, I just gave them to you. I just said that it's okay for me if you would give them away," Hyunjin bit into his waffle happily, which was actually still a little warm, and started the engine.
"And you want to drive like that now?" Felix asked incredulously.
"Oh yeah, that's fine. Otherwise I'll be late for work and that doesn't fit so well today," Hyunjin tried to explain with his mouth full, but the words didn't come out clearly.
Sighing again, Felix shook his head, grabbed several tissues and spread them over Hyunjin's lap.
"Then at least you won't completely mess up your pants." He shook his head disapprovingly and saw a piece of strawberry slowly slipping from Hyunjin's waffle and clapping out of his leg.
"If I wouldn't have you," the older said grinning and maneuvered out of the parking lot while trying to hold his waffle straight.
"Babe, you're a hopeless case and your driver's license should be revoked," Felix snorted, shaking his head.
They managed to arrive at Minho's safe and sound (and not too much smeared with chocolate sauce and cream).
Although Felix also had almost two nervous breakdowns at the same time, while he watched Hyunjin drive and eat his waffle at the same time.
And when they parked in Minho's driveway, the first thing he did was to punch against the older's shoulder. As hard as he could.
"We'll never do that again," he gasped, feeling like he had to throw up.
"Then we should plan a bit better next time." Grinning, Hyunjin got out of the car.
Felix followed him with trembling knees, took his bag and the bouquet from the back seat, and was just about to say goodbye to Hyunjin when Minho opened the front door.
"If that's not my darling and my favorite dumbass," he greeted the two grinning.
"Min," Felix squealed and ran with quick steps over to the elder, who joyfully spread his arms and wrapped them around him.
"Hey, baby," he muttered, kissing Felix gently.
"Okay, I see, you're busy and I have to go to work anyway," Hyunjin laughed, waved to the two and drove away.
Fortunately, the way from Minho's apartment to his work wasn't that far, because otherwise Hyunjin would definitely have been late.
He was actually quite happy with himself and sipped his milkshake from, but when he was completely honest with himself, he was also a bit upset.
Somehow he was afraid that Chan wouldn't like the flowers. And also afraid that someone would discover that he had brought flowers for him. Because even if this was actually nothing forbidden, it could be seen as inappropriate.
And somehow he was curious about Chan's best friend, but at the same time that scared him too. Because he didn't know how Chan would react to seeing his friend again.
Sighing, he shook his head and took a deep breath.
It was just a working day like any other.
Or at least that's what he tried to convince himself of.
