Chapter 16

When Hyunjin came home, it felt like an insane amount of energy was flowing through his body. He could hardly believe that he had brushed through Chan's hair and although he made insane accusations, his heart beat faster at the same time at the thought of the velvety hair of the older.

Felix and Minho had gone out for dinner together, which was why he had his apartment for himself for the first time in what felt like forever, apart from the kittens of course.

After a quick shower, he also decided on a quick dinner and cooked the ramen while filling the bowls of the kittens.

The little furballs greedily rushed onto the food.

With a happy smile, Hyunjin watched the two, filled the ramen into a bowl and then decided to sit next to them and eat with them.

Somehow it felt so much less lonely with the kittens at home, even though they were so small that they could almost get overlooked.

When they were both finished with their food, they climbed up on him and tried to get to his bowl, but he stopped them laughing. "That's not good for you! You'll get a stomach ache!"

The two meowed as if they had understood him and wanted to protest against what he had said. But he only shook his head laughing and prevented them from climbing further up on him.

As fast as he could, he ate the ramen and put the bowl in the sink.

With the two kittens on his arm, he went into his bedroom, snuggled up in his bed and turned on his favorite anime.

That was exactly how Felix found him some time later. Sleeping close to the kittens and cuddled in his blanket.

As quietly as he could to wake up none of the three, Felix took fresh clothes and a towel out of the closet and disappeared into the bathroom.

But since he really longed for cuddles, he showered in a hurry and went back to them with still slightly wet hair, which caused Hyunjin to grumble when the younger one cuddled up to him.

"Cold," he grumbled, but still wrapped his arms around the younger one and cuddled you up to him. "Glad you're back," he mumbled and pressed his lips against Felix neck.

"I'm glad too. It feels so good to come home to you," Felix whispered and stroked through Hyunjin's hair. "And our children only make the whole thing better."

Smiling, Hyunjin cuddled closer to him and felt incredibly comfortable and secure.

It had been the right decision to offer Felix to move in with him. And also the right thing to take the kittens with them. They had now become a small family of their own and actually that was pretty much everything Hyunjin needed. And yet a certain brown-haired haunted his thoughts and left him no peace. Nevertheless, it was good to be able to hold on to Felix and cuddle with him.

After a while, Hyunjin fell asleep snuggled close to Felix, while the younger found it difficult to fall asleep. His thoughts revolved around Minho. He would have liked to have talked to Hyunjin about it, but he also understood that the older one was tired from work.

Which was why he made a great effort to finally fall asleep, but it took quite a while until his eyes finally closed.

When Hyunjin woke up again it was still incredibly early in the morning and he would have liked to sleep longer, but he had an early shift.

Felix lay snuggled close to him and had pushed a hand under Hyunjin's shirt, which made the older one grin.

And although he really would have liked to just stay in bed to continue cuddling with Felix, he knew that he really had no choice but to get up.

Yawning, he wrapped his arms around the younger one and pressed a gentle kiss on his forehead. But when he wanted to let go of him and get up, Felix held him tight.

"Don't go away..."

Sighing, Hyunjin buried his hand Felix hair and stroked through the soft strands. Which reminded him again that he had brushed through Chan's hair, which he had actually forgotten for a moment.

"Baby... I...", for a moment Hyunjin was about to tell Felix everything about Chan. But he was insanely afraid of Felix's reaction, even though he knew that his best friend was the most understanding person he knew. "You know that I have to go to work..."

The younger shook his head violently, causing Hyunjin to laugh.

"When will you have a day just for me?" Felix muttered and sounded quite unhappy.

Surprised, Hyunjin raised his head and looked at the younger one in the dim light. "I had the weekend off but you were busy with Minho," Hyunjin defended himself, but stroked through Felix's hair and kissed him gently. "My next day off belongs only to us."

Felix looked at the older one uncertainly and with big eyes.

"What's going on?"

"Minho has... Minho kissed me," Felix whispered and looked damn insecure.

Hyunjin retreated a bit and looked at the younger one in amazement. "And why aren't you happy about it?"

With a trembling hand, Felix laid his hand on Hyunjin's cheek and looked for a moment as if he wanted to pull the older to himself.

"Because I... he... uhm..." it was incredibly difficult for Felix to put into words what had happened the night before, but he calmed down almost immediately when Hyunjin pulled him closer to himself.

"He kissed me the way you just did..." Felix whispered.

Hyunjin sighed and took a deep breath. He hadn't expect that Felix would be that confused, but was also aware that they had wasn't correspond to the norm.

"Baby, that's actually normal for a first kiss... maybe we should talk about the fact that it's not quite normal for best friend to kiss...," Hyunjin murmured and gently caressed Felix's back.

"I... I know," Felix whispered and dug his fingers into Hyunjin's arms. "But I... I don't know... I like to kiss you. But I'm not in love with you..."

A gentle smile appeared on Hyunjin's lips. "That's totally fine with me, baby. You can kiss me. The only thing you should make sure is that it's also okay for Minho when you get together. And apart from that, you should just enjoy your time with him."

Still smiling, Hyunjin went back to bed and pulled Felix to him. And even if the younger one didn't yet look quite convinced and still somewhat insecure, he snuggled up to Hyunjin and closed his eyes for a moment.

"Thank you for being my best friend..." Felix whispered and put his hand on Hyunjin's cheek.

"As long as you want me with you, my handsome!" Hyunjin replied and pressed a kiss on his forehead. "May I get up now?"

Another violent shaking of the head.

But before Hyunjin could reply, the doorbell rang, causing them both to startle.

"Do you expect anyone?" Hyunjin asked astonished, but Felix shook his head.

With his eyebrows tightened, Hyunjin got up, put on sweatpants and went to the apartment door.

He heard Felix come after him, but didn't stop him.

However, when he opened the door, he wished he had done it. Felix's father stood in front of the door and looked quite angry.

"I want to talk to Felix!" he demanded and tried to push the door open further.

"Felix is not here," Hyunjin replied coldly, fervently hoping that he couldn't see the younger one behind him.

"I know he's here and I demand to talk to him!"

Hyunjin just shrugged his shoulders. "I don't care. He doesn't want to talk to them," he hissed and closed the door faster than Felix's father could react.

He ignored the angry hammering at the apartment door, turned around and was amazed to find that Felix was not behind him at all.

But when he wanted to go back to his bedroom and turned around the corner, he almost ran into the younger one.

Tears ran over his face and he trembled all over his body, but no sound escaped his lips.

"Everything is okay, baby. He won't do anything to you!" Hyunjin whispered, wrapped his arms around the younger one and pulled him closer. "Do you know what he wants? Did he try to reach you?"

But Felix just shook his head.

"Maybe you should spend the day at Minhos... at least as long as I'm not here."

But since Felix didn't react, Hyunjin took the younger's phone and ringed Minho out of bed without. "It's five in the morning!"

"I know. Can I bring Felix to you?"

He could hear Minho yawning at the other end and then it rustled, just as if he had sat up in his bed.

"Sure..."

"Good, thank you. See you soon."

Without saying anything, Hyunjin pulled the younger one into the bedroom and gave him clothes so that he could get dressed.

After he had dressed himself, he went back to the front door and put his ear against the door for a moment. But since he couldn't hear anything, he opened a gap and peered outside.

There was no one to be seen, which caused Hyunjin to take a deep breath and close the door again.

"Okay, baby. He's gone. Let's take advantage of the moment and drive to Minho. I have to go to work soon anyway and we can get coffee on the way."

His trembling slowly became less and he finally nodded. "I just don't want to... talk to him," he whispered.

"That's okay. He will hardly wait for us in the garage if he even knows how to get there."

He reached for Felix's hand and pulled him with him. Before they left the apartment, Hyunjin looked again to see if Felix's father could be seen, but fortunately there was no trace of him.

They got into the garage without any further incident and sat in the car shortly afterwards, on the way to Minho.

And although Hyunjin looked in the rear-view mirror several times, he didn't see a car that possibly pursued them. Maybe he had just seen far too many police series and was a bit paranoid.

Which nevertheless led to him driving directly to Minho without stopping again.

Overslept and in his pajamas, Minho opened the door. Pulled Felix into his arms without saying a word and pressed a cup of coffee into Hyunjin's, as if he had suspected that the younger one would need one.

"Thank you.. I have to go to work right away."

Minho nodded yawning and rubbed his face on Felix hair before he detached him a bit from the younger and looked at Hyunjin thoughtfully. "Can you go to work like this or do you need anything else?"

But Hyunjin just shook his head. "That's fine. Thanks for the coffee. And Lix may still need some sleep, even if he will say otherwise."

Grinning, Minho nodded and detached himself from Felix. "You know where my bed is. I'll be right behind," he said gently and pushed the younger one in the direction of his bedroom.

And then Hyunjin surprised by briefly pulling him into his arms and pressed himself against him. "Thank you for taking such good care of him," he said so quietly that only Hyunjin could hear him.

"I can't help it. He is my best friend and I love him. Apart from that, he has such a soft heart that we just have to protect him..."

Minho nodded thoughtfully and looked after Hyunjin, who had already disappeared through the front door.
