The Battle of Sokovia

Luna stared at her old uniform, unsure of what to do. She'd changed so much since she'd last worn her uniform.

"Go with what feels right." Race said, placing a hand on his sister's shoulder. Luna smiled and him and began to suit up.

Zack threw Wanda's red leather jacket at her with a smile on his face. She caught it and smiled back.

Clint stared at the picture of Laura, Lila and Cooper, knowing he'd get back to them.

"No way we all get through this. If even one tin soldier is left standing, we've lost. There's going to be blood on the floor." Tony said.

"I got no plans tomorrow night." Steve said.

"YES YOU DO! YOU ARE TAKING ALYSSA OUT ON A DATE AND THAT'S FINAL!" Luna shouted.

"Apparently I do have plans tomorrow night." Steve said, chuckling.

"I get first crack at the big guy. Iron Man's the one he's waiting for." Tony said.

"That's true. He hates you the most." Vision said, walking behind Tony.

Clint folded the picture and slid it in the left side of his vest, where his heart was, so he could keep his family with him.

Pietro slipped the com into his ear.

Ultron knows we're coming.

Wanda and Zack stared at each other before Zack grabbed her hand and gave her a soft smile.

Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire.

David slipped on his shoes and stared at his brother. Jack gave Camryn a sweet kiss, not knowing if they were going to make it out alive. Alicia looked down at her left hand and smiled at the ring on her finger. Blink smiled at Alicia and gave her a kiss on her temple.

Race slipped on his old tattered vest and looked at the picture inside of his pocket watch. He kissed the picture and clipped the watched onto his vest. He placed his hat onto his head, and put a cigar in his mouth.

Spot watched as Luna got ready, his eyes never leaving her back. He slipped on his suspenders and put his slingshot in his pocket before he made his way over to Luna. He turned her around and put his key around her neck. It was the key to his heart, and Luna had it forever.

The group was all on the jet, flying into battle.

And that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out. Steve said.

"We're under attack! Clear the city! Now!" Pietro said running into a hospital of some sort. Just as quickly as he left, he came back with a gun in his hand. He shot it at the ceiling causing all the workers to jump in fright.

"Get off your asses." He said, walking back out the gun in hand. Wanda stood in the middle of a busy street, working her red mist.

All they want is to live their lives in peace.

She manipulated the mist so that it would compel the people of Sokovia to leave and get out before the fighting started.

And that's not gonna happen today.

Luna did the same with her violet mist, compelling the children to get out first. She watched as a family of two, a brother and a sister made their way out of the city of Sokovia. In a way these children reminded Luna of her and Race when they were younger.

But we can do our best to protect them.

With the help of Wanda and Luna, people were leaving the city like ants trying to find food. The people were flooding out of the city left and right, not knowing what they were doing.

And we can get the job done.

Thor busted open the brick wall to Strucker's secret room where Loki's scepter once was.

We find out what Ultron's been building.

Thor walked down the steps to one of the alien monsters that his brother brought when he tried to take over the world. Banner watched him, and went his own way, trying to find Alyssa and Natasha.

We find Romanoff and Alyssa and we clear the field.

Clint stared from a hawk's distance at all the people leaving Sokovia, his family in his mind.

Keep the fight between us.

"Ultron thinks we're monsters. That we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right." Steve said.

That was all the team needed to hear. They were ready to end this, once and for all. The people of Sokovia had started to flee the city. Some with bags, others without. The team tried to get them out, before everything went to hell.

"Natasha!' Came the faint call of Bruce Banner.

Alyssa and Natasha looked up at the sound. They were going to get out of there.

"Alyssa!" Camryn called.

A small smile formed on the Deadly Sinners face.

"Natasha!" Bruce called again.

"Bruce? Camryn?" Natasha called, walking to the part of the cell where the door opened.

"Are you two alright?" Bruce asked, his hand on top of Nats.

"Yeah." Alyssa nodded. Camryn let out a sigh of relief.

"The team is in the city. It's about to light up." Camryn said.

"I don't suppose you found a key lying around somewhere?" Nat smirked.

Bruce and Camryn chuckled. "Yeah. We did." Bruce said, backing up.

Alyssa watched in amazement as Bruce pulled out a weapon and shot it at the lock on the door. The two girls inside pushed the door aside, and came out of the cell.

"So what's our play?" Nat asked, looking between Bruce and Camryn.

"I'm here to get you to safety." Bruce said, looking only at Natasha.

Alyssa felt hurt for a moment, but then she realized how much she had to fight for.

"Job's not finished." Nat said.

"We could help with the evacuation, but I can't be in a fight near civilians." Bruce said.

Camryn and Alyssa gave the couple a look, before they headed out to join the fray.

"I've got Alyssa, she's safe."

Camryn said into the ear com. Steve relaxed at her words. She was safe.

Alyssa looked at the scene in front of her with wide eyes. Tens of thousands of people flood the streets, all being forced away from their home and not knowing anything about what is going to happen.

"Don't think too much about it." Clint whispered in her ear.

Alyssa didn't even know that her sister had led them to Clint.

"I'm trying, but it's not working." She said.

Clint sent a small smile at the girl, before Camryn dragged her to their position.

Cars we honking, all desperately trying to drive out of the city, and Race was getting fed up as he and Steve tried to direct the traffic.

"Who would drive in a situation like this? How stupid are people?" He asked, letting out a puff of smoke.

Steve rolled his eyes at the boy. After three years of working with Anthony Higgins, he never stopped being annoying.

Stark flew over the city, Friday telling him exactly where he needed to go.

"Your man's in the church, boss. I think he's waiting for you." She said.

Tony landed and began to walk towards his target.

"Come to confess your sins?" The metallic voice of Ultron asked.

Tony stopped walking, he was not in the mood for games. "I don't know. How much time you got?" He asked, sarcastically.

"More than you." Ultron said, walking up behind the little man in the iron suit.

Tony turned around and looked at Ultron's new body. "Uh... Have you been juicing? Little vibranium cocktail? You're looking... I don't wanna say "puffy."" Tony said, in shock.

"You're stalling to protect the people." Ultron said. The robot knew exactly what the Avengers were up to.

"Well, that is the mission. Did you forget?" Tony asked. Ultron held back a chuckle.

"I've moved beyond your mission. I'm free." He said.

Suddenly the ground started to shake and broke into dust and pieces as something came out of the ground. "What?" Ultron asked, innocently. "You think you were the only one stalling?"

Friday scanned the contraption that was built in the ground. "There's the rest of the vibranium. Function, still unclear." She said.

"This is how you end, Tony. This is peace in my time." Ultron said.

Across the city, robot minions rose from the ground, ready to attack everything in sight.

"Robot's from the ground. This is new." Luna muttered.

Alicia stood beside her, a smirk on her face. The robots came from the ground, from the water near the edge of the city, they were coming from everywhere. They flew over the city, sending explosions near anything they could find. Luna looked at the girl beside her and smirked. Alicia smirked back and the two began to fight off the robots. Steve began hitting some with his shield, Clint with his arrows, and Wanda was just getting people off the bridge.

She blocked an incoming explosive with a scarlet shield, saving civilian lives.

"Run!" She said, before another explosive was sent, destroying her protective shield and sending her to the ground.

"Ultron." Vision said.

The robot in question looked up at the red thing flying down towards him. Ultron flew up to meet him in the middle.

"My vision." He said. "They really did take everything from me."

If Vision had been one to roll his eyes, he would've. "You set the terms. You can change them." He said.

"Alright." Ultron said, lunging forward and grabbing Vision around the throat. He had been one step ahead, and grabbed Ultron's head, infiltrating his mind, but Ultron wouldn't have it and flung Vision into a wall.

Steve flug a robot onto the hood of a car and ripped out some wiring. He was tired of robots trying to kill people.

"You're hot when your angry." Alyssa said, ripping the head off of one of the robots. Steve whipped around to meet the blue eyes of the girl he loved. He rushed towards her and brought her into a short yet passionate kiss.

"I missed you too." She said, before she began fighting off another robot.

Race and Jack stood surrounded by ten robots, all of which had explosives aimed at them, ready to fire. Jack sent the wise-ass a look and Race nodded. He closed his eyes, and appeared behind some of the bots. He reached inside of them and began pulling wires out left and right. Jack used his shadow manipulation to have the shadows around them tear the robot to shreds. The two smirked as the last bot fell.

Spot and David worked back to back, trying to fight off the dozens of bots around them. David tried to get inside their heads and rewire their programming, but it wasn't working.

"Ultron must've done something so I can't manipulate them not to fight us." He gasped.

Spot didn't answer him, he was too worried about the vines growing through the bots. He smirked in triumph as the robot fell to the ground in pieces.

Zach stood with Camryn, the two fighting off the robots in the old fashioned way. Zach's hand came in contact with the robot in front of him, and the bot immediately fell to the ground. He smirked as he began to electrocute the robots fighting against them.

The ground started to crack and crumble below the feet of the people still in Sokovia.

"What the hell is happening?" Luna growled, throwing a dead robot to the side.

There was no answer from the coms. It was then, that the team saw what was happening. The ground was breaking away from the rest of the Earth. They were slowly starting to rise into the air, and there was no way to stop it. Then a voice filled their ears.

"Do you see the beauty of it? The inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computer's, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal."

"That guy does not know how to shut up. He's so dramatic." Race said, trying to look for the one missing member of their team.

Becca hadn't been seen since the jet landed in Sokovia, and he was getting worried about her. She could fend for herself, that much he knew, but Becca had been acting weird these last couple of weeks, ever since she came back from the fight in Africa.

Flashes of silver and blue, streaks of white, a fog of black and clouds of scarlet and violet filled the air of the floating Sokovia.

Luna grunted as a bullet hit her arm. She growled, and sent a ball of violet mist toward the three robots she was fending off.

Steve grunted as he was thrown against a car.

"Cap you got incoming." Tony said.

Steve grunted and Alyssa smirked. "Incoming already came in." She said, ripping another head off of a robot's body.

"Stark you worry about bringing the city back down safely." Steve said, running towards a robot.

Pietro gasped as he rested against a wall. Yes he was fast, and yes he was in shape, but it was a lot of running, and he was slowly losing energy.

"The rest of us have one job, tear these things apart." Steve said over the ear coms.

Clint turned around, looking at the nearly deserted and destroyed street.

"If I may, Stars and Stripes." Luna cut in.

The Avengers had decided long ago that she was the best at giving pep talks and knew how to hype people up.

"You get hurt, hurt them back. You get killed, walk it off." She smirked.

The city rose higher and higher into the air. There was no stopping it now. Ultron would rather die than give up, and the Avengers knew that. They knew what they were getting themselves into, it was in the job description.

Luna looked at the people around her. They all ran in panic as more robots flew into the city. Children screaming and crying for their parents, innocent people dead on the ground. Memories of what Strucker did to her came flooding back. The experiments, the poking the prodding. She let out one heartbreaking scream, and her powers went out of control. Violet mist ripped apart the robots, flug the people away. Luna stopped screaming, and looked at what had just happened. She shook off the guilt at the innocent lives she had just taken and continued to fight.

"Alright, we're all clear here." Clint said as he and Wanda fought off the last few robots in their territory.

"We are not clear!" Steve practically shouted, fighting off a robot. "We are very not clear!"

Someone stood in the shadows, watching everything.

"It's not time yet." Ultron said through his own little ear com.

The person looked at the chaos and destruction, a smirk on their face.

"I am more than ready. Send me in." The person insisted.

Ultron chuckled.

"Not yet. You strike when they're all together." He commanded.

Thor was roughly thrown into the church. Ultron landed in behind him, clearly enjoying his little game. He sent concret towards Thor and hit him across the face. Thor's hammer dropped.

"A little help over here!" Blink called as the robots began to ambush him.

Black mist came from his hands and towards the robots, but it wasn't working. A screech sounded from the five robots that surrounded him. They fell to the floor with a satisfying 'thud' and Blink smiled.

"Thanks." He said. Alicia just smiled and took his hand.

The fighting has stopped. The first two waves of robots were dead, but it was only a matter of time.

"The next wave is going to hit any minute. What do you got Stark?" Steve asked.

"Huh? Nothing great. Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface, if you guys can get clear." Tony said.

"I asked for a solution, not an escape plan." Steve demanded.

Luna scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Someone's pissed." She muttered to Alyssa.

Time seemed to have stopped. It was all a blur. People were being loaded into the hovercraft that Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D had sent. Luna had sweat running down her face and she was quickly running out of energy. as she loaded the first couple of people on. Race and Spot were right beside her, giving her the strength she needed to continue to get these people to safety.

The first lifeboat went back to the Helicarrier, and the next wave of civilians went onto the next before the Avengers knew it they had loaded six lifeboats that were going to carry the people of Sokovia to safety.

"You think you're saving anyone? I turn that key and drop this rock a little early and it's still billions dead. Even you can't stop that."

Ultron's voice filled Luna's head as she watched Tony kill the robots in the sky, with Rhode at his side. She had to admit, it was rather amusing to what her friends bicker with each other over the small things as they flew in the sky.

Suddenly, Tony's voice came over the ear coms. "Avengers, time to work for a living."

Luna looked over at her friends. They all had the same look as she did. They all had the same thoughts running through their heads of whether or not they were going to make it out of this alive.
