Attack Aftermath and the Four Enhanced

"They're hiding something." Becca said.

The former Newsies stood on the roof after the fight.

"What could they possibly be hiding from us?" Jack asked.

"I think they know who the two other enhanced are."

"They told us who they were, Violet and Zach." Blink said.

"There's gotta be more to the story."

"They're our friends. Friends don't hide things from friends." Alicia said.

"Uh, I remember Jacky boy here hiding his past from us for a long time." Spot said.

"Ha ha." Jack replied sarcastically.

"We need to find out what they're hiding. Alyssa knows, Camryn knows, Steve knows, and Hill knows something. I'm going to get to the bottom of it, even if it means breaking their trust in me and going behind their backs." Becca said before storming downstairs.

"Something's wrong with her." Jack said.

"She's a little mad." Alicia said.

"Back off. She's been under pressure since we too the last Hydra base." Race said, defending his girlfriend.

"Come on." David said, walking back inside.

The others soon followed.

The team of Avengers stood inside the lab.

They were still recovering from the unexpected battle that just took place in their livingroom.

"All our work is gone Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch." Banner said.

Stark stood, looking at the previous body of Ultron.

"Ultron." Steve said.

Alyssa stood by him, picking the glass out of her arms and legs.

She had blood going down the right side of her face, her lip was cut, and her nose was bleeding.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Natasha said.

"He's in your files, he's in the Internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodes asked, holding his arm.

"Nuclear codes." Hill said, picking glass out of her foot.

"Nuclear codes. Look we need to make some calls, assuming we still can." Rhodes said.

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Camryn said.

"He didn't say "dead." He said "extinct." Steve said.

Alyssa placed hand on Steve's shoulder. He looked at her, and she sent him a soft smile.

"He also said he killed somebody." Clint said.

"There wasn't anyone else in the building." Hill said.

"Yes, there was." Tony said, walking to the center of the room.

He pressed a button, and an orange circle showed up.

"What?" Bruce asked walking over to the circle.

"This is insane." Bruce said, looking at Tony.

"Jarvis was the first line of defense. He would have shut Ultron down. It makes sense." Steve said, his arms crossed.

"No. Ultron could have assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy. This is rage." Bruce said, as Thor walked into the room.

Angrily he picked Tony up by his neck and held him in the air.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Alyssa said.

"It's going around." Clint said.

"Come one, use your words, buddy." Tony said.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor said.

"Thor. The Legionnaire." Steve said.

Tony was thrown back on the ground.

"Trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed north. And it has the scepter." Thor said.

"Now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor finished. "Genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron." Natasha said.

"I don't understand." Camryn said.

"You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?" Alyssa asked.

Tony chuckled.

Everybody looked at him.

"Mmm-mmm." Bruce said, shaking his head.

"You think this is funny?" Thor asked.

"No." Tony said, turning and facing the god.

"It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. Is it so... Is it so... It is. It's so terrible."

"This could have been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor said.

"No. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this."

"Tony, maybe this might not be the time." Bruce said.

"Really? That's it? You just roll over, show your belly every time somebody snarls?" Tony shook his head.

"Only when I've created a murder bot." Bruce replied.

"We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?"

"Well, you did something right. And you did it right here." Steve said.

"The Avengers were supposed to be different than S.H.I.E.L.D." Alyssa said.

"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony asked.

"No, it's never come up." Rhodes said, shaking his head.

"Saved New York?"

"Never heard that."

"Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it."

"We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but that up there, that's... That's the end of the line. How were you guys planning on beating that?"

Steve looked at him, and grabbed Alyssa's hand.

"Together." They said.

"We'll loose." Tony walked forward slightly.

"Then we'll do that together, too." Alyssa said.

"Thor's right. Ultron't calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller." Steve said.

Four figures walked in the night.

Two of the four checked over their shoulders.

The four snuck into the old church site, careful not to be seen.

They walked up the steps into the church.

The four figures could be identified as Wanda, Pietro, Zach, and Violet.

"Talk, and if you are wasting our time..." Wanda said.

"Did you know this church is in the exact center of the city? The elders decreed it so that everyone could be equally close to god. I like that." A deep voice said.

He was sitting in a chair, with something covering him so he couldn't be seen.

"The geometry of belief."

A shiny silver arm stuck and a leg were the only part of the mystery figure that could be seen. The arm disappeared under the cloak.

"You're wondering why you two can't look inside my head."

Wanda and Violet's eyes were glowing scarlet and violet.

"Sometimes it's hard." Violet said.

"But sooner or later every man shows himself." Wanda said.

The figure stood up revealing a giant robot.

"Oh, I'm sure they do."

Wanda and Violet backed up.

"But you needed something more than a man. That's why you let Stark take the scepter."

The robot walked closer to the four.

"I didn't expect" Violet said.

She looked the robot up and down.

"but I saw Stark's fear. I knew it would control him. Make him self-destruct." Violet said, looking up at the robot.

"Everyone creates the thing they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Invaders create Avengers. People create smaller people? Uh... Children."

The robot chuckled.

"I lost the word, there. Children designed to supplant them, to help them end."

"Is that why you've come, to end the Avengers?" Violet asked.

"I've come to save the world. But also... Yeah."

Pietro and Zach zoomed to the old Hydra base with Wanda and Violet on their backs.

"We'll move out right away. This is a star, but there's something we need to begin the real work." Ultron said.

"All of these are..." Zach said looking around.

"Me. I have what the Avengers never will. Harmony. They're discordant. Disconnected. Stark's already got them turning on each other. And when you two get inside the rest of their heads..."

Pietro cut him off.

"Everyone's plan is not to kill them."

"And make them martyrs? You need patience. Need to see the big picture."

Ultron flew over to the four.

"I don't see the big picture. I have a little picture. I take it out and look at it, every day." Pietro said.

"You lost your parents in the bombings. I've seen the records."

The main focus was on the twins for now.

Soon the cousins would come into play.

"The records are not the picture."

"Pietro." Wanda said, trying to stop her older brother.

"No, please." Ultron said.

"We were 10 years old. Having dinner, the four of us. When the first shell hits, two floors below, it makes a hole in the floor. It's big. Our parents go in and the whole building starts coming apart. I grab her, roll under the bed, and the second shell hits. But it doesn't go off. It just sits there in the rubble. Three feet from our faces. And on the side of the shell is painted one word."

"Stark." Wanda said, her eyes flashing scarlet.

"We were trapped for two days."

"Every effort to save us, every shift in the bricks, I think, "This will set it off." We wait for two days for Tony Stark to kill us."

"I know what they are."

"And you two. Cousins. Violet Harrison and Zachary Hunter. Both orphaned at a young age. Violet your friends tried to kill you. They accused you of killing your own twin brother. You tried to tell them you didn't do it, but they wouldn't have it. You were left on the streets to die, when Strucker found you and took you in. Zachary. You were thrown out of the orphanage after you were accused of electrocuting somebody. They tossed you on to the streets like yesterday's paper. You froze for months before Strucker found you."

Violet felt anger course through her veins as Ultron told her and Zach's story.

I wondered why only you four survived Strucker's experiments. Now I don't. We will make it right. You and I can hurt them."

He walked toward Pietro.

"You can shock them."

Zach smirked and let the electricity flow from his fingers.

"But you two will tear them apart. From the inside."
